when using 1.6 ROM rooted some apps are not shown in the market like Whats app or Twitter... i'v tried a lot of patched markets and a lot of 1.6 ROMs in this forum .. can anybody tell me whats the problem ?
A lot of apps do not support android 1.6 anymore, most of them require 2.x and higher android versions, i would suggest you to flash 2.x ROM to get those apps..
I just want to recommend you Cyanogen Mod CM7 7.2.0 RC1 ROM. It's fast and smooth, good thing for your phone. I'd say that it's faster than stock 1.6 ROM.

Since the NexusHD2 is almost stock, is it possible to add CM6 to it via their update zip? If possible, any modifications needed? I like lot of their features compared to stock froyo
I still have the original HD2ONE 1.3 Nand version installed but its really outdated. Its time for an upgrade but I'm not ready for gingerbread yet. I know theres the CleanDroid rom but doesn't seem stable compared to the NexusHD2 plus theres no official ClockWork rom.
Any help appreciated.
I'm a noob and I have a few questions about Custom Rom's. First, what is Cyanogen? Is it a standalone Rom or is it a platform for Custom Rom's to run on? I have an X8 and I have Link2SD, if I flash the CM7 ROM in this forum will the apps in the EXT2 partition disappear? Also, I live in China at the moment and I flashed the operating system to an American Version... Which Rom will work better for me in China, the Cyanogen or the one ported from Sense? I bought my X8 in China. Thanks for the help~ oh and one last question, will SE really stop upgrading the X8 or is it just for the moment?
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
CyanogenMod is a popular custom Android ROM. It includes features that aren't normally built into Android.
The apps on the EXT2 partition will not disappear, however they will not appear in your app drawer. You'll have to re-install them/re-link them.
It does not matter where you bought the phone, the ROM will work exactly the same. The ported Sense ROMs are not completed and barely work.
SE has only stopped upgrading the X8's Android version (so we will never see an official 2.2 or 2.3 firmware). We will still see future 2.1 updates.
Edit: Also, this was posted in the wrong section.

Hi Chaps, I'm considering switching builds to the current Typhoon nand rom, I'm currently on the old M-DeeJay nand Rom for those of you with long memories, and for the most part it's been very stable. Unfortunately just recently I've been having issues and have decided to have a fresh install.
Reading through the last 60 pages or so of the typhoon rom, it seems like the ROM has become somewhat unstable with the latest versions, with data dropping out, batteries being drained etc
I've experienced no real issues like this with my current Rom (no issues that I can't solve), are these real problems for typhoons rom at the minute that I should wait to see fixed, or is it a case of user error and I'm fine to go for it?
I've never used cwm, so haven't flashed nightlies, I prefer to find a Rom that works and stick with it rather than risk screwing up my phone
Also - just how improved are current roms over ones that were cooked up around christmas time?
The other ROM I considered was the Dorimanx one, it seems to be just a little too tweaked for my liking
current cm7 roms have android 2.3.5 base. instead of them you can use roms with android 2.3.4 base (which are stable).i typhoon rom op there are old rom download links.i'm not sure but version 3.4.1 is said to be very stable.
best stable rom i ever tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060
and fast ...
thanks chaps - now running typhoon 3.4.1
best rom with sense is Android 2.2.1 Sense 2.0 NAND Firmware (based on stock Desire HD RUU Ace 1.84) by Mikhei777
I cant speak for non Tmobile HD2 devices. But for the TMobile version this ROM is the fastest, cleanest, and most stable I have used. I have been using it for almost a year. So far have not run into any issues especially once I switched to the CLK version. [OCT16] AmeriCanAndroid AOSP HD2 GB2.3.7 CM7 | bk2sdext [KERNEL:ACA823]
I'm currenty using CM7 nightlies gingerbread 2.3.7
the UI is great, but the performance is slow.
I do also miss the old HTC Sense, with google sync.
I want to downgrade to Donut just like before because it works much faster than gingerbread.
Please give me some advice on how to flash old rom,
or give me some tricks, for me to stay and to still use my current gingerbread Rom.
My current clowkworkmod version is 5.xxx.
Thanks in advance
Hi all,
My HD2 had upgraded from WM to android 2.2.
However, the system is unstable lately (it rebooted occasionally).
Thus, I wonder whether I can do another upgrade to either 2.3 or 4.0?
Could you suggest which version is more stable and functioning well?
Also the how-to?
Thx a lot.
Yes you can do an upgrade, have a good read first as these are custom ROM & bugs will be present, those 2.3.xx versions are pretty much stable nowadays but you can give ICS - different flavours - a try also. Go the the SD ROM thread & if your phone has MAGLDR all you have to do is put the ROM in SD & boot from there or try the link below
Thx for the suggestion.
Just another Q: Why to store image in the SD? Doesn't it slow down the boot up time?
What's the benefit on the other hand?
Much appreciated.
NexusHD2 series GB & ICS are very stable and fast ROMs.
I am now using an ICS one and I am very pleased
You can found guides about flashing in my signature.
If you`re interested only in Android you should choose a NAND version to avoid slowness.
You can upgrade to this rom, now it is stable enough, enjoy.
