What is the best way to go about selling my Epic? (any advice from previous sellers)
Is there anything special I need to do before selling it? (other than restore to stock and factory reset)
I will miss it, but I am switching to a Verizon

Also would like to know how you managed to get unlimited... best VZW is offering right now is 4GB a month (promo pricing).
$89.99 for unlimited text/data/450 minutes. I get a corp discount (about $70.90 before taxes) now so that is the real reason I switched. I loved my epic, but love Verizon's speedy LTE network more ;-) Pricing will vary depending on your plan needs, but unlimited data is not a guarantee. I had to make a few phone calls to get it. Good Luck, to those that want to switch and those that are staying. If you want unlimited data for Verizon check out a topic in the Rezound general section about getting unlimited.
Cheers!

Checkout this thread for the details. I didn't believe it till I made the call.
Yeah that's the "trick" or loophole in VZW's pricing system. You ask for 4G unlimited hotspot (over the phone) and they upgrade you to unlimited data in order to get it. Once they upgrade you, you remove the unlimited hotspot via the web. Hopefully VZW doesn't catch on to this and knock you back to tiered data.

So just to confirm, does this mean we cannot upgrade even this one time? There was some confusing about whether all upgrades would be moved back, or just upgrades after you upgrade your current phone?
no upgrades. Fk sprint. If they grandfathered me in one time I would stay.
Well the girl doesn't want verizon grrrr. This will get interesting on my end. I should just start my item cell phone company
Swyped from my cyanogenized and gingerbreaded EVO
And now ALL smart Phones will get the $10 upcharge..what a bunch of Idiots they start to turn the ship being the best game in town with prices and then they go and do stupid crap like this.
We are Idiots Link here
1. They dropped my discount on all lines 4 months ago and anly apply it to the single line (+20 a month for me)
2. Jacked around the upgrades (No effect on my account but its the point)
3. Added the $10 charge I have 6 lines and a Galaxy Tab all my other lines are smartphones, that I might add they charge 19.99 a line since its an "everything plan" already, BS! (+50 a month)
Total increase +70 a month on my already $280 a month bill, BITE ME, TMO free kids pay their own data if they want it and Ill save 150 a month.

I wish I'd seen this whole discussion sooner. When I bought my Evo on January 1st, the rep straight told me I'd get $75 off after a year and $150 off after 22 months.
And why are individual plan Evo owners complaining about the $10 upcharge on all smartphones, we already pay it! That's the 3g-only smartphone users paying Sprint to make our service better! <----joke, that's really shady of those guys.
I don't care either way, I live on a juicy scholarship, whatever comes out in June I'll be able to afford it anyway. I welcome your flaming, I didn't lose my virginity until I was 18 so I could live this way. WORTH IT!!

Correct, even if its an old phone that you already had that is now in that category, like the instinct, they charge you.
Sent from my perfect epic
I've got two HTC Heros, LG Optimus S, and Samsung epic on my lines yet the fee only applies to the Epic. I think Sprint will charge $10 /month when I upgrade the other lines?
If the lines were already active on the phone when the fee was introduced, that line is not charged. But if you switched to a "dumbphone" then switched back to the same smartphone, you'd be charged.

Compared to the competition (not to mention the lack of unlimited data plans on any other network) it's really not that expensive.

Its just another sad attempt to charge people more money. They do not care about making customers happy. They just want to make as much money as possible, nothing else. But the sad part is most people will roll over and accept it.
I got grandfathered for the $30 unlimited plan. Any phone i get is always unlimited for $30, even any other phone on my plan.
Wish i could switch to sprints unlimited everything for 99 bucks but sprint is a dead zone here :/

More like getting shafted into eating the cost, or not having a phone. AT&T and Verizon charging ridiculous rates for data, T-Mobile compressing all of your images, Sprint's service being utterly horrible, MetroPCS with terrible phone choices and no 3G service in my area, and other issues. MVNOs either run on Sprint and suffer signal issues and slow data speeds, or run on AT&T and get small data caps (hi H2O wireless) or get throttled to 500kbps (Red Pocket, AT&T GoPhone).
In terms of speed and price, T-Mobile is still good, but why bother browsing if every web page looks like 1997 vomited all over it? The only thing missing is Geocities and an annoying midi file looping in the background. I don't understand how they think they're going to get away with severe image compression when 720x1280 is the new Android flagship standard resolution.

With Sprint's Vision plan coming into fruition in the next several years, voice and data coverage and speed should improve. Hopefully they continue to keep the unlimited data plans and if they do, then you will probably see a lot of people jump to Sprint.
That was a xmas promo. lol. Thats as good as saying AT&T HAD unlimited.
this is the lowest I've seen so far for this phone, get it while it last! You need to be eligible for an upgrade and I think you have to upgrade a family primary line, so there are still some limitations.

I bought the phone from by phone to ensure that i will keep my unlimited data plan.
The Salesman (It is a salesman and i believed him !!!) told me that i will keep my plan.
I received the bill from email and i see that my plan was retrograde to 300Mb for $20.
Call them back and they say sorry, we love you, the sky is blue with a lot of sun and birds, it was a miscommunication.
Is there a way to get back after receive the phone the grandfathered unlimited data plan ? or I need to cancel my order
$50 for that phone instead of 200
Thanks Guys
When buying online like amazon or radio shack you have to one call and don't do the computer order method. And 2 call att and get a good rep and let him know your buying online which requires a plan change but want to keep your unlimited data. And a good rep will mark your account so once you get the phone you can call and restore you unlimited data.
I don't screw around with that crap the extra money compared to the headache of dealing with countless idiot reps etc..

Okay, some fine print time.
Fine Print #1
Those who wish to stay with their current setup of 4GB of double data are able to do so. You will be allowed to upgrade with it, keep it, etc. So if the shared plan is not financially beneficial to you, don't sweat it.
Fine Print #2
Yes, those with unlimited will lose it. ONLY WHEN THEY UPGRADE. So if you never upgrade, you don't lose it for the foreseeable future. Do what I've been doing for years. Buy your phones off craigslist. Meet the seller at a Verizon, let a rep check the ESN and make sure you're not getting scammed with a stolen phone, and call it a day. I picked up my Nexus for $200 on Craigslist, the same cost it sells for at Verizon WITH CONTRACT. This will enable you to keep your unlimited.
The prices on this benefit a lot of people. Consider this:
2 line family plan, both smartphones
99.99 for 700 minutes & unlimited texting
30 for 2GB
30 for 2GB
=$160 a month
Under new plan:
$70 for unlimited talk and text, 4GB of data shared, now with free tethering
40 for 1 phone
40 for other phone
= $150 a month. $10 savings, same GB overall, now unlimited minutes.
I'm not saying this plan is perfect, or that it works for everyone. But the nice part is, if you don't want it, you're not being forced into it. It's an option that's available, and if it benefits you (and it truly does benefit a lot of people. Not everyone, but a lot) then more power to you.
I'll do glad that I am not on Verizon anymore because they are too expensive for their own good.

The real problem with them is that the market is not competitive. Being the biggest network means people will pay whatever ridiculous price they ask without really looking at their other options. I think Straight Talk should offer a $45/month unlimited everything, bring your own device program on Verizon like they do on AT&T and T-Mobile
Verizon smartphone users already **** bricks when they hear how I pay $45/month, don't have a contract, have unlimited everything, and have virtually identical coverage.

They do; Straight Talk re-sells service on all 4 carriers, but you can't bring your own phone for Verizon or Sprint because they won't activate phones that aren't branded by them (even if it's a phone from their own network, it has to be used only directly on their network). There are other limitations like having to reprogram the phone, but the main issue is getting them to activate it, which they don't do.
