Deactivating the phones "auto connection" when launching internet apps?

Hi.
My X1 seem to like trying to connect to internet whenever I dont have WLAN (like before it has connected when I turn it on.
Is there any way to turn this off?
Im was playing with the connection modes and deactivated "Auto" and set it to gprs/gsm or w/e it's called mode but this does not seem to solve the problem of the phone going into "Trying to connect" mode.
You got any tips on how to solve this?

I searched the web, and found this...
Go to Start Menu ---> settings
Then go to the "connections" tab
open "connections"
go to the "advanced" tab
click on "select networks"
There are two pull-down menus, choose "my work network" for both
Then click OK.
I've managed to stop the X1 from connecting automatically with this, hope this helps.

Can't change bluetooth visibility

Hi all, I tried to connect the HD2 to the laptop but when I search for the mobile, I don't find it. I looked all options in the connections settings but I don't find the option. Am I blind?!

took me a while to find it:
Settings / Menu / All Settings / Bluetooth
The option you are looking for is on the first tab

OMG!!! I feel so stupid
I looked to that menu so many times, but never noticed the Bluetooth icon there, I was always going to connections.

Can't change bluetooth visability off
Every time I turn on bluetooth it comes on in "Always Visable" to other devices. After I change the setting to "Not Visable" and then turn off bluetooth and then back on, it reappears as "Always Visable" again.
Why does this keep happening?
I recently changed my ROM and it has only started this behaviour after the ROM change.
I have looked through the registry settings and can't find anything that would enable this behaviour.
Any ideas?

HD2 WiFi

Hiya, I purchased my HD2 this morning, everything is great the phone is brilliant, there's one tiny problem, I did a soft reset on the phone after using the 802.11n enable thingy (using the regeditor), when I rebooted the phone the WiFi option (under settings on HTC sense) is disabled (like greyed out), I can't turn the wi-fi on, i tried setting the reg back to disable 802.11nm but the option is still disabled. The button was enabled before I made any edits though :s
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks

WIFI is disabled when connected to your PC (Activesync).

How to I find the MAC Address of the HD2, and i'm trying to sync my contact out of office outlook 2007 using Windows Mobile Device Centre, but when i select contact is says Outlook is not setup, how do i fix this? :s

Glad to know. I thought this "feature" was a bug from installing too many tweak apps. I could still enable wifi via:
Start > Settings > All Settings > Connections > Wifi
and ticked the "Turn On Wifi" option. This part of the OS is basic windows mobile UI.

enable WIFI on hd2
i updated my hd2 from 2.13 to 3.14 and lost my wifi capability.
can this be recovered,,,, i already re flashed back to 2.13 and still a disabled (greyed out) wifi on/off button.
Any solutions to this problem?

No data connection?

So, my phones data connection will turn off and i cant send/recieve any data. When i pull up the top little status bar and try to press the button to turn my data connection on, it goes straight to the settings/setup for data connections. The actual button doesnt switch from off to on. Now, as i was typing this post, my data just came on by itself for a minute. now its off again. why wont my little button work lol

I came here through google looking for a solution as I had the exact same problem.
managed to fudge some result:
Go to Settings -> Wireless Controls
Then at the bottom go to Menu -> Connections -> Select Networks
You should have your internet connection (T-Mobile, O2, etc) selected for both drop down boxes. Click on edit for each one and edit again but don't change any settings just click cancel.
Should be working now

3G turning on by itself

Hi there
I have this problem with my Hero, where the 3G turns itself on automtically.
If I go into Wireless settings it shows the Mobile Network tick box unticked and the option to tick it and connect but it is already connected. If I hold in the power button to get the phone options it shows mobile netwrok as off too.
This was the same with both the OTA 2.1 update and the Villainrom 12.
Any suggestions
