Pretty much since it was available I was running Syndicate ROM Frozen, but recently switched to CleanGB.
Once thing I miss about SRF was the custom wait/busy icon/animation.
How can this be changed/customized on any ROM? Or is it not that easy?

I have my girlfriends fascinate rooted and running on google. My question is can someone point to which themes work with the google hack and also what custom roms work with it,
Thanks in advance
CJ
Are you running the stock rom just modified? Which version are you on?
You need to be running a deodexed rom to be able to theme. Have you flashed a custom rom yet?
i am running super clean verison 2.4 and i have flashed custom roms on my droid x but first time flashing on hers.
FYI 2.5 was just released and searching through the site it appears themes for eb01 are working on 2.5.

Well, about 4 days have passed, and in those 4 days, I have rooted my phone, flashed a custom ROM, and been through about 5 different kernels. I am really enjoying this experience. I have done a few other things, like set up wireless tethering, and installed a custom boot animation, but I feel this is not enough lol. I am very eager to do more, but don't know what else to do.
What haven't I done that can be explored? Share your favorite things to do with your rooted Dinc!!!

Start flashing CM7 nightlies
I've been the same way ever since I got into the android platform.
You can get into themes and basically design an entire theme if you want.
I always seem to come back Redemption Roms though when I'm switching back and forth in between roms. I tried the CM7 but just always end up coming back.
You guys have any idea how I can get the trackball wake feature to work with skyraider 3.5? Do I need to download a zip file or what? I was told it came standard with skyraider, but it's not working for me
It is very addicting, I must say that I at one point flashed 4 roms in one day until I found the perfect one.
I've been flashing CM7 nightlies and I'm getting ready to flash CM7 RC2. Of all the ROMs that I have flashed I must say that I am not budging from CM7, it rocks.

Haven't flashed SR in a while. Check around in settings.
You can also try out 'Launcher Pro' (easy to switch back, just uninstall) from the market.
It's pretty sweet and I've been using it ever since I've downloaded it.

Flash more ROMs and try them out. I had SR3.5 for about a week after I first rooted my Incredible. I went to Warm 2.2 for a couple weeks and then I've been on CM7 since January 10 or so. Flashing a new ROM is like having a whole new phone.
I still have nights where I'll flash one or two different ROMs, completely set them up, and then decide I want to go back to CM7 and restore my backup. I'm definitely trying the Gingerbread version of MIUI when it comes out - the current version doesn't beat out CM7 in my opinion, but the next one might.
Ok i keep getting nagged to update my g2 I am permrooted using the no adb gfree method. So i have s-off supercid and all that. I want to manually flash a pre-rooted GB rom but I'm hoping for a stock rom with minimal changes. The one exception is I want to be able to overclock, I've been looking everywhere but there are too many options without the specific changes and builds outlined. Just a little confused and looking for advice on a rom that will fit what I'm looking for. I'm happy with the stock feel just want to overclock basically. Any ideas?
BOO! no one has any recommendations?
Xboarder56's stock 2.3 + enhancements can be overclocked and is pretty much just stock AOSP.

Sorry I'm new to some of this lol, but its that off the new ota build? Also does it make a difference? I have a stock rooted rom dvds it works great but I want the option of over clocking just because I can't help myself plus its awesome. I have pretty much every thing I own overclocked lol. free power is epic

CM7 and xboarder56's are both based on AOSP 2.3.5, the latest android release. There's no need for them to be based off of the OTA build because they've been compiled from AOSP source (and been around before the OTA was even a thought). For this reason we've had things like CM7 2.3 ROMs since January on the G2. Nearly every ROM in the dev section will have custom kernels that allow overclocking, though (except the bone stock pre-rooted OTA Builds, they're pretty much stuck atm).

Find the radio thread in the dev section. I recommend flashing the radio intended for the T-mobile 2.3 OTA.
is that radio Vision_Radio_12.52. 60.25_26.08.04.30 ? Also, I flashed the bone stock pre rooted. My thing was I wanted to keep the stock look for now. Just to keep it simple, plus I like it. I will probably flash virtuous when they come out with a new update.

Yes thats the T-Mo US OTA radio.
ROMs like CM7 and other AOSP ones are very close to stock. The G2 ships (and OTAs) with an almost stock ROM, so anything built from AOSP will be very similar.
Something like CM7 will be much quicker and efficient with tons of extra improvements, but look very similar.
I just flashed my G2 with this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1211143
I'm rooted S-Off, and I just came from bone stock factory 2.2.
I overclocked my phone using this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=813681
And all worked fine until I flashed the 2.3 ROM.
I adb pushed both .ko files to test them out, and I keep getting this error in my terminal emulator: "insmod: init_module '/data/local/vision_oc.ko' failed (Exec format error)" I'm running the command as su, obviously. I don't see why flashing a new ROM would effect my ability to overclock without replacing the stock kernels...
You're trying to put a kernel on there made for the 2.2 ROM.
You're running a 2.3 ROM. Right now there are no custom kernels to overclock that ROM that don't also break other things on the phone.
If you want 2.3.4+ and overclocking, look into one of the other custom ROMs made from AOSP (like CM7) that come with custom overclockable kernels from the start, or have overclockable kernels available for them.
So is CM7 stable for the G2? Meaning that everything works (WiFi, GPS, video playback, etc.)?
Because right now this bone stock 2.3 ROM I'm running is seamless, I'm not really a tinkerer, I just want things to work.

CM7 is extremely stable. Its been in a stable state for a long long long time. And has more features than stock with better performance and battery use. I flash nightlies and its more stable than some ROMs out there.
Just make a nandroid backup of your current ROM. You can always go back...
What about g-lite?

+1 for glite. Pretty much stock with an Oc daemon. I love the awesome battery life as well

yea I've been meaning to try it got the stock prerooted now, just have to get tired of it lol.
you can use setcpu and set 8X55 can use 1ghz
You can also use cm7 with the stock kernel and OC your phone to 1ghz easily.
Cm7 is very stable btw - ive found nothing which is not working.

I am going to be giving my S4 with MDL firmware to my wife. I want her to be able to have a most stable build and no issues. I am considering just flashing back to stock, but I just wanted to make sure I can keep MDL and not flash an upgraded version...or maybe she'd be happier with an updated stock rom, as she really will have no need for custom roms unless it was going to be a perfectly clean, stable interface.
Wondering what opinions anyone might have?
Thank you!

I would flash the stock firmware root it and then freeze the updater.apk, don't remember the specific name, so you can retain mdl.

I would definitely suggest hyperdrive ROM. 100 percent stable no bugs. Loads of features snatched from the note 3

Thank you for the advice!
I have flashed stock OS firmware file from here:
http://storagecow.eu/Xda/AT&T S4/St...s.com-SGH-I337-ATT-I337UCUAMDL-1367050591.zip
I am running it now and it is very smooth, but it feels a bit antiquated compared to what I used to run on here, and wonder if either there is a more recent firmware version I should be running, or there is a debloated style stock rom that would make more sense to flmeash to update a bunch of things.
For example, messages received just show "message received" in the notification bar. Many roms I've run recently actually show the message coming in and this is just one example of a feature I think she would appreciate.
I am sure there are a bunch of other advancements, but that's just one example.

Stock is always best for most stable. There are no best ROMs or most stable otherwise.
Glad you got what you needed. Closing this before all the "best ROM opinions" start rolling in.
