Hello moodyy25,
Stock gingerbread should be available for your MT4G if you don't want to root and update with a custom ROM : http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-1818
Did you try to update your phone "normally" in Setting / Phone / Update ?
Regards

i didnt found the update option in the setting
i m asking if i upadeted it will be locked or ll still unlocked
If you do the official update your phone will be "locked."
Are you rooted with S = Off?
To find out, first see if you have an app called Superuser.
Then, power off the phone. Hold down the Vol Down button and press power to boot into bootloader.
If it says S = Off and you have the superuser app you are good to go on an easy upgrade.
Let us know.
Don't forget to thank those who have helped you!

Ok. I assumed you had root.
When you say "locked" are you referring to SIM locked, meaning your phone will only work with one carrier? Do you mean locked as unrooted?
Or, do you mean locked as in "bricked" meaning broken?

Ok, you are s-on. By unlocked, you probably mean you can use your phone with any carrier you want (in your first post you said : now i m not in usa).
If it's the case, I'm not sure you can get the official update by t-mobile.
You can manually install the update. More info here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17601813
But : I don't know if you will lose your SIM unlock by upgrading your device.
If it works, don't break it

I bought mine & also bought unlocked code from t-mobile(actually bought from a reseller). When I got my phone it had FROYO & I successfully updated to GINGERBREAD (manually) without locking again to t-mobile.I used official unlock code by t,mobile. So how is yours?Unlock code by t-mobile? Then don't worry! You can update.1st find how your phones unlocked. Here is the link for unrooted gb update .

About the GB Update,it is superb! But the problem is your unlock, no.Well if you bought it as BN & Unlocked phone then it should be Official unlock. There is a way, If you upgrade GB & if it lock your phone, you can buy official unlock code from ebay (it is about 20$).But I don't think update will loose your unlock. But im not sure ok.Whatever it us worthy to try.Choise is yours bro.Good Luck.

build number and software number
1.32.405.6 cl278359 release keys.

Cheers
Gaz
Hello, just wait or try to find the latest rom on the forum ...
You will not receive the OTA udate on a rooted handset. You will either have to unroot and wait for the 3 software release or download the stock 2.3 rom and install.
can i not just unroot some how and leave it on the stock unbranded to be able to recieve the ota update?

I have my phone rooted and i receive the OTA update saturday ...
I have just re installed visionary to attempt to unroot my dhd - but it says my device does not appear to be rooted!?!!
maybe i should just install the RUU
does anybody have the link?
cheers
You should instal 1.32 ruu exe then do temp root through visionary. Open the radio s-off tool which you can find somewhere on the forum and you need to do stock cid which is HTC_001 and you'll receive update
Forgot to add that I have a three branded dhd but now it's unbranded
1.32 can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824357
radio s-off here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537
and you'll receive update
legend!! cheers mate, its now found the update...
now just hope the install doesnt crash or anything
if you have original recovery and you didn't uninstall any system apps you'll be fine
I bought motorola Atrix week ago and i want install custom rom but my android version is 2.2.2 and
system version 4.4.80.MB860.Partner.en.IL
baseband version N_0.95.00R
kernal version 2.6.32.9-00001-gfdaed51
build number OLYEM_U4_4.8.0
Thank you
Hey, I bought my Atrix some few days back and wanted to unlock (bootloader) it, install CWM and root it. And I did hello lot of searching for that, and found this page and used it to get everything done.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202883
So, I would recommend you the above link -- it's sufficient and has just one file for download with everything in it.
NOTE: I had Android 2.3.4 installed on my Atrix and the above guide applies to Android 2.3.4 running Atrix only. So take due notice of this.
ONE MORE THING: Read this page in full so that you gain knowledge of what you are doing. And I think once the bootloader is unlocked, you cannot re-lock it (anyway, I'm yet to find a link/page which would help me relock it).
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154600
That's it. Good luck. Enjoy!
There is no guide for my version?
cuz I afraid to get a hard brick with another version guide
yes I know what it is bootloader root and etc
I had htc legend before
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154600
I tried all those guides and no one helped me to open my bootloader
any suggestions?

Hello everyone,
I've searched the forums for this but I couldn't find an answer, so maybe someone can help me. My goal is to simply SIM unlock my Desire Z and nothing else.
I used gfree to Sim unlock, set SuperCID and Radio S-OFF using the method from the wiki:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_Vision#Rooting_the_Vision_.28G2.2FDZ.29_and_DHD.
I did not install a custom ROM and now I am getting a notification to do a system update.
My question is: if I install the OTA update, do I loose the SIM unlock? I am not interested in keeping root privileges (although SuperCID would be nice), I just don't want to have a SIM locked phone. Is it safe to do the OTA update after rooting and does it retain the SIM unlock?
Thanks
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure it will break it, cause you downgraded to a version that had it unlockable and now if you upgrade I think you lose that.
Sent from my HTC Desire Z using XDA App
No, for 100% OTA will not revert you a sim lock in your phone.
Oh wait did I screw up s-off and sim unlock ?

What?!? What's UP?
This is correct once your phone is SIM unlocked a OTA unlock should not do anything to your SIM UNLOCK. if it did then there was something not done during the unlocking.
- My G2 is sim unlocked and has and will be for life
Thanks for the replies guys. So you are saying that if I do the OTA update, there should not be any problems? It will still be unlocked and SuperCID, S-OFF or the eng hboot would not have any negative impact during the update?
Would you do the OTA update if you were me ?
Thanks.
Sim Unlock, S-OFF and SuperCID will remain no matter what you flash on the phone.
The eng hboot might be gone if you flash the OTA though, but will not affect the phone at all if it doesn't.
I'd recommend using a custom rom, but if you don't care for root access, go ahead and flash the OTA

I know what your talking about and I have the same question...but let me be more specific cause I don't think the question was clearly answered..
The phone is rooted ofcourse, s-off, supercid and unlocked with gfree (not perm unlock via code). the update is not a android system update, its the supplemental update that adds wifi calling.. the actually update states that is includes:
*wifi calling for android
*resolves unexpected device freezes and power off issues
*improves data connection reliability
*optimizes radio recovery
So the question is for us running the stock rom with permanent root and unlock will this update break the root, s-off, supercid or the unlock?
***Nipqer you said s-off, supercid and sim unlock will remain no matter what?..are you saying that even if we flash the OTA gingerbread update that i assume will pop up after the supplemental OTA update is flashed that those will still remain??
---------- Post added at 04:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:31 PM ----------
And smeclem can you please (should you decide to update it) report your finding??

You ask about SIM lock, ane with root, s-off, supercid is a different way.
It may unroot your phone, but it doesn't remove supercid and s-off (you will still have it like it is).
And Yes, thats correct. When you flash your phone using RUU or other roms you will not change simlock, s-off and supercid from like it is now on your phone.
ps. I'm using MIUI right now, so I can't said (but I will) upgrade or not (do an upgrade).
Hey folks, I created this thread just to separate this version of 4.4.4 which can't update to Lollipop using the current OTA file outhere. So I ask if someone which have this version receive the update to try to capture and share with the people.
Currently the only way to downgrade as I understand is downgrade the firmware to the KXB21.85.23 but for this you need to unlock bootloader, which will make you loose your warranty. So for people like me stuck with this version please you this thread to don't generate more doubts in the other threads. If you have other ways to downgrade without unlocking bootloader please share!
Best regards!:good:

Is there any overview which software Version Runs on which xt106x hardwareversion and on which Country Variant?
There were that much discussions of Different version combinations that i am probably not the only one who has lost the overview..?
This KitKat version was never an official OTA. So you can't upgrade from this version. Officialy you can't have it. Downgrade to .23 and you'll be fine!
Edit:
About loosing your warranty: you've installed the .27 update with een unlocked bootloader. So your warranty was already void. Relocking your bootloader brought it to 'Status 2' meaning you had it unlocked in the past. Never unlocked is 'status 0'. You never will get your warranty back by relocking it.
I tried it not working

OK, possible... Where did you buy your phone and, more important, what is the bootloader status? If the bootloader status is 0, then you're right and I am wrong. If it's 2, then your bootloader has been unlocked in the past!

Bought new from Fnac in Portugal on Dec. the 16th. How do I check the bootloader status?
Please note that i'm not a devoloper, so I don't know this things deeply, but I do know what is an OTA, factory images, root...etc, meaning I Know that I haven't unlocked or rooted the smartphone.... that's why I'm telling that .27 is official, probably came preinstaled in the latest batch for EMEA region.

Okay, my bad then! I was wrongly informed! So just wait and the lollipop OTA should be released in a while!
Send from my XT1068 using Tapatalk.
The main difference in this version is coming with more languages support, as I said we are stuck in this version and of course I'm not thinking in unlocking the bootloader because in case of something goes wrong in the phone I could have the luck of Amazon trade for another new or sent to Motorola and there I'am screwed ...
If someone Find anyway possible without have to unlock the bootloader fire it out!
same here...i guess we have to wait.
Actually 27 is an incremental update. Motorola has updated Moto G 2014 software page with the details.
Google launcher was update and some minor improvements.
My one was bought 2 weeks ago in Poland.
And 27 was preinstalled.
well, im in the same boat,
was using the xt 1063 version lollipop then migrated back to 4.4 stock
stuck on .24 titan retbr ds retbr en br oi br
So with the news of today saying will roll out the new update for lollipop any one if have this version and bootloader unlocked can make a favor of post here the file for this Version?

Hi All,
I currently own a HTC 9 and looking to upgrade to a HTC 10! I want a 10 that is rooted, s-off, and with a "Santod" Rom, which is what I have on my 9!! My question(s) are if I buy a new unused 10, what ever software level it comes with, I will have to add all hardware upgrades sequentially(depending on software level that could be alot and take a lot of time). Do I root first, than add all hardware updates - or update hardware first then root and s-off? I wanted to do all this while still using my 9! Any ideas or suggestions?? Thank you

Not sure what you mean by hardware upgrades, but if your Verizon HTC comes with Nougat, then you'll have to mail it in to the Sunshine team to get s-off and root ability. With Marshmallow software you can still use the sunshine app to s-off, so if yours comes with marshmallow, do the s-off procedure first before doing anything else. After that, instead of taking each software update sequentially, you could download the latest Verizon RUU and run that to get straight to the latest software version.
Thanks for replying! I have ordered my new 10, but don't have it yet! I know in cruising around these threads that there are 11 firmware upgrades based when the 10 was first announced. I don't know the software level of the 10 I'm purchasing, and was nervous about how to go through the process and the order of - s-off, root, recovery, firmware upgrade and custom ROM I didn't know that flashing the most recent RUU from Verizon would contain all the firmware updates.. I did know to ask all XDA followers and they would help me out Thank you
