Sounds like it dropped the connection. Try turning your phone off and back on. If that doesn't work. you may want to update to the newest cyanogen mod, because their could've been some type bug.
Sounds like you might wanna try reflashing the ROM, I heard it sometimes helps. Don't forget to do nandroid backup!
sorted now updated rom to the hyperdroid cm7 seems to run faster than the cyanogen mod i had which is a bonus thanks
Glad you got everything fixed! Happy flashing! :-D

Hey guys, newbie user and android owner.
I picked up the vibrant the other day. So far its rooted, android-wifi-tether, and i performed the gps fix on it.
I really like the phone, but whenever I connect to my wifi router, it stops all data (android market, web browser, etc) It says connected and doesn't show any signs of problems. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for any help you can throw my way.
Hmm. Mine has problems with "No Connection" when it's connected to my wireless at home, but I just figured it was my router's fault since my computer gives me the "unable to load web page" thing all the time too. My router sucks, though. Maybe your does too?
Yeah, mine does it sometimes too. I just turn on airplane mode, and turn it back off...works fine after that. Its a hit or miss issue.
Mine works fine running off if my router. Btw, do you actually have the wi-fi tether working? Because I thought we needed a working kernal for that to work.
Feeling Vibrant on xda-app
Yup that did it for me. All I had to do was turn on airplane mode and then turn it back off. Wifi working for me now. Thanks.

Please tell us how you got wifi tethering to work without a custom kernel.
From XDA App on SGS-Vibrant
you know, i have a similar issue, where im connected to my router but i dont get internet and 3g goes away the moment i connect to wifi... airplane mode didnt help tho... its interesting really..
ive tried other routers and my phone can get wifi w/internet from them
i did factory reset on my phone 3 times trying to figure this out; 2 of the three times i got wifi to work w/internet until i disconnected and connected again. then i just got the same problem all over again
ok before the update my phone never had any issues connecting but since i downloaded the official update that someone posted in the development forum it has stopped working, i have tried both Bionix 1.9 as well as Bionix Fusion 1.0 (currently using this one) neither has helped.
whats happening is the phone finds the wifi, connects to it, and then keeps like restarting or losing connection saying obtaining IP address. I have tried this from my home router as well as my work router neither of which work any longer.
I have also tried giving it a static ip address but then it just keeps losing and connecting (refreshing i guess).
If i try and go to the market or a website while the wifi is connected, refreshing doing whatever it doesnt work at all just shows could not load screens.
I have the same issue, with a stock (but rooted) JI6. The only resolution I have is rebooting the phone.

rebooting the phone for me doesnt do any good, i leave wifi on, reboot and then when its back on wifi still doesnt work. Is it possible to go back to pre JI6? if so have you tried that yet?
You could ODIN back to stock. At least you won't be having this problem and plus you could test to see if JI6 is the problem.
I HIGHLY recommend to do a nandroid backup before anything and save ur apps with titanium backup. :]
You need to rest your wi-fi router ie once it connect for the first time its fine afterwords. I have fixed four of my friends vibrants same way.

Have u another wifi device on the router? Is it still working? It could go wrong as well. Also is it not working on any other wifi access point somewhere else?

no, no other wifi device. i cant try any other wifi connecting cuz my neighboors have locked em....
I'm having problems with wifi now that im back to froyo. I'm using connectify with a WiFi usb adapter and internet was working good when i was on CM7. Today I flashed SpeedRom JPQ and G3Mod 1.3.1 kernel. Now i get connection but no internet. Connectfy is NOT running AdHoc connection so there should be no probem. Please help its urgent, I can't get my phone running properly without internet and i have no data package now for mobile data
EDIT: LOL this is ridiculous, I just restarted my phone and computer before i posted a couple of times no changes. I posted a question on XDA and then restarted everything again. IT WORKS! This isn't the first time this happened to me on XDA, I just post a question or problem on XDA and then it's gone. Wonder if it works with other problems in my life?!
Hi folks,
my device is sometime unexpectedly rebooting, this happens like once every month, so it's not very often. Still it's annoying me. So after it reboots, it wants to send me an email with a bugreport. I looked at it but it doesn't say much to me. Hopefully someone can help me with this?
I also have a bigger issue with my home wifi, I can't connect to it with my Nexus, mobile phone is working fine though. I think the corresponding line here is: "wpa_supplicant: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-ASSOC-REJECT". This is really a problem because the tablet is kinda useless to me without network connectivity at all. I've worked around by setting up another Acess Point with openWRT, acting as client bridge to the main wifi network. The Device is Nexus 7 8GB with Android 4.2 if it helps. Sorry for my bad english & thanks in advance.
regards Tou
rebooting around once a month?
first how can you notice that,
second its normal... yes... no device is perfect...
with your Wifi, i had the same problem, but with my PC,
i cant connect at all!
its in the WIfi Settings,
Tweak with your router settings, restart the router first before all...
If you're using 4.2 or 4.2.1, the reboot is a known issue on Google's end, and I'd consider myself lucky to only have it once a month.
If rooted, you can delete bugmailer.sh from system/bin to stop the bug reports.
