Hello!
I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000 in Moscow and I live in Brazil.
Less than two months later, the tablet started crashing applications, freezing and many many times reseting itself or even just turning off,.
No matter what is the application: game, internet, heavy or light apps, phone or even when no app is running it went off once. Also, with 100% battery or 10% battery it happens anyway.
I tried to reinstall Android 2.2 and 2.3 many times, following perfectly the instructions found here in XDA forums.
I tried to take it to an authorized repair shop but they said they can't even accept the device because I bought in another country and Samsung does not sent any parts in that case and they are not authorized to receive the device.
Please, can you give me any advice?
I don't know if I need or can give any more details (IMEI, S/N, FCC ID) here. So, if I need an can give it, please ask and I'll edit the post.
Thanks a lot!
Flash overcome rom and this shouldn't happen. Follow the guide carefully though.

Ok this is what happened, my first i9000m I played around with a lot of roms, perfecting, upgrading, everything was perfect, I know what I am doing when it comes to flashing, etc.
I am almost 90% sure the problem started when my internal sd card started causing problems. I got random restarts, files missing, weird and random fc's, so I used clockwork to backup, and i was also copying files from my internal sd, to my external.
I had insanity installed, and I think just upgraded to GB, or it was around time when 2.3.3 started coming out, I rebooted to recovery, and int sd said didn't exist, or could not mount, something like that
I tried a lot of methods listed online, using odin I flashed a stock jvb using odin, it finished successfully, rebooted, and recovery came up and did the usual upgrading, etc, but it would not go through due to int sd problem.
I tried a bunch of stuff, then one night I let my (not so smart) friend look to see what I was up to, he ended up using odin to flash a custom VIBRANT rom, usually my phone starts with animated i9000m screensaver galaxy s, but this said samsung vibrant, anyway I was angry, the phone rebooted, now it will not power on, or do anything at all.
Also, before the wrong rom was flashed, I bought a 301k resistor jig from ebay to force in to download mode, that worked great until after the incorrect rom was flashed.
After this I was VERY angry, so angry I went out and bought a new i9000m, haha
My Galaxy S fetish has been restored, and my phone works great.
So... here is what I have been thinking, and reason I posted this thread...
I have ead about jtag's, etc and wondering is there anything I can do to fix my broken i9000, especially seeing how I have a working phone exact same model here with me as well.
So can anyone out there give me idea's, etc... anything??!
Thanks in advance for reading this!
I also wanted to add...
A few months ago I bought a SIM card reader/writer/cloner
-USB to RS232 adapter
-Prolific Technology, Inc. PL2303 chip.
-Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port
Maybe I can make my own uart?
I don't know if it would help you but I have a RiffBox that I want to get ride of.

yes how much
I'd also like that riffbox. How much for shipping to USA if the man above me does not want it?
hi guys i sold my old galaxy s on Ebay, I factory reset it before sending tested it and it worked fine.
I never rooted or flashed this device, only one official Samsung update.
The guy has returned it saying the phone is laggy, slow to unlock, and slow running apps.
now I'm dubious that he may have done something to the device software/network unlock wise that went wrong and is just palming me off now he's damaged it.
Is there anything I can check such as software logs to see what the device has done in the last week?

My note is dead, no joke...its not turning on at all now. I flashed my rom as its the first rom I ever created...it didn't work as it came up with an error, then I flashed Criskelo 5.0 rom and it flashed...no problems. So then, I thought i'd try flashing my rom again and it failed then...then I tried flashing Criskelo 5.0 rom again and it came up with an error and it said (bad) in brackets, then I tried flashing another rom called ParanoidAndroid and it was on the 3rd line for 5 minutes and then screen just went black after that and my phone never woke up again.
When I put the battery into my note, there is no life at all, I get a constant back screen, however...the phone gets warm with battery inserted. I've took out battery and put it back in with same problem. I've tried PC odin but the cable connection does not show a yellow or green light on the PC odin software.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Yeah...i'll modifiy my original post to go over everything so people are aware of what exactly went wrong and to determine if I do have a super brick.
Can I use the information in this post for my situation?

However, my phone is fully bricked.
Yep. You flahed a rom on a bad kernel.
So its bricked. This is why you should always read as much info as you can. It says quite clearly in every rom posted to not do what you did.

Yep, sorry but the phone is bricked. Had the same problem with my S2 a couple of weeks ago. Have had plenty of experience flashing firmwares but this time half way through the phones screen went black, & phone would not restart. Tried everything, usb jig etc., but no luck. Phone would get hot with battery inserted.
Sent the phone to the link below, simply telling them that the firmware installation had stopped half way through. They could not repair it themselves & had to return it to Samsung, this took about seven days. Now have the phone back working perfectly, all I had to pay was the return postage.

If I bought my phone from Carphone Warehouse does that mean I have Samsung warranty, sorry for stupid question. Your from the Uk right?...where are the services centres or did you send abroad?

Yes, it will be covered by Samsung warranty, just send it to the company in the link, they will send it on to Samsung.
Carphone warehouse should honour your warranty... If their at all problematic, try with your operator. Either Carphone warehouse will take it at a store, or your provider will do a next day collection, and usually replace there and then.

Well...I just presumed that I could follow a rom development thread and everything would be okay, its not the same as app development...I know that now, however...I will still continue developing
The funny thing is that I never realised that it could brick my device as I was happy it wasn't the LPY stock rom.
If anyone knows a thread that I can refer to about script then please link me to it as it would help alot, thanks.
Notes (don't need to read this):
First I'd like to thank you for your help. I know you don't have to. Also, I'd like to say that I had enough of this. I spent my two last weeks on this and I couldn't find the solution. I searched here, on Google, YouTube and on many more places. I know that I'm a noob loser (as the video says) but at least I know that I gave my best and tried all I could. With that said, lets go to my freaking problem.
THE problem:
I have a HTC MyTouch 4G Glacier. I bought it in the US (I'm from Brazil) and since I bought it I have this freaking problem with the battery life. I can't think about one day that I didn't faced the Cell Standby, Cell Idle, and Wireless consuming more than 30% (each) of my battery. The company sent me another battery and I still have the very same problem. Reading on the internet I discovered that one way to solve this was to root the phone and give a S-off to it.
Here is something important to know, I'm not a advanced coder. I don't know many things about the language you use. However, I can get things through reading and trying. So, please keep in mind to not use acronyms or difficult words 'cos I will ask you to keep it as simple as you can.
Moving on... So, I managed to give a super user and to set a S-OFF (whatever this S-OFF meanings). After that, I tried to follow the tutorial posted on the website TheUnlockr (the one that uses revolutionary) but without any success. So, I read and found an app called "Rom Manager". I installed and bought its premium account. My first shot was the CM 10.1 that I found in the same website (theunlockr). The cell gave me the Status 7 error. So, to keep things more simple, I decided to download the CM-7.2 Glacier, which I downloaded from the same app, and install it.
I wiped all the data and installed this ROM. It seemed to work fine. The ROM is working amazingly, my apps as well BUT the freaking battery life problem is still haunting me.
What I tried to do:
Searching for a solution here I found many posts talking about RADIO, about AOSP, and many more. The thing is, I have no idea what they are. I might've searched on google, and I did searched AOSP but I couldn't see any difference, but, as I told you, I'm tired of reading many things and find no solution. I'm trying now to download another ROM to see if it will work better or not. But I really think it will not. In addition, my GF's friend has a HTC (but not Glacier) and its battery works fine. The only thing that consumes its battery is the display and it is below 25%.
Which apps I have installed:
I don't have many APPs but I will list them here:
- ROM Manager;
- Waze;
- Facebook chat;
- DU Battery;
- WhatsApp;
- File Manager;
- Lookout;
- Japanese Pro;
- Shazam;
- Swype;
- Terminal Emulator;
My cell phone info:
HTC Glacier
Android 2.3.7
Kernel version 2.6.35.14
I tried my best to give you all the information I thought it could be relevant for you. If you need more infos, just ask.
Once more, thank you for your time.
I have read that CyanogenMod 7.1 gives better battery life.
Also STOCK (the type of operating system your phone came with) suck with battery life; I would leave mines at 100% and overnight I'd wake up to 8%
Once I installed custom roms, it got a lot better; 100% at night, when I wake up, still 100.
Also it may be a hardware problem since 2 batteries didn't help. If you really want good battery you might have to spend some money.
Try buying these

Thanks for your answer.
Would you be nice and give me these roms names or links to download?
And, how can I change/delete this STOCK from my cell?
Once again, thx.
You already have gotten rid of stock.
If your running cyanogen that means your not running the normal operating system.
Go into the development forum for the glacier on this site.
The 2nd thread is a resource bible.
Open it, then pick a ROM you like.

Thx again.
I will try another ROM. Maybe tomorrow I'm here to say if it worked fine or not.
My note 4 is completely stock. Never been rooted. About a month ago it began having difficulties where it would turn off then back on again. These would progressively happen more and more each day until eventually, it booted into download mode by itself. I looked things up and noticed that if you flashed the stock firmware back on it should work. I did this. It worked for a day until now where it went back into download mode and I tried to boot it normally and it goes straight to download each time. I tried reflashing the firmware but Odin fails every time. Tried multiple versions of Odin as well. Same outcome. Please help
Update
Phone will no longer power on in any state. Yet computer still recognizes it as a usb but cannot access it.

if your phone is not rooteed, then its not a subject to xda.
Xda is a forum about hacking its not a church.
it might be better to go a Samsung center. No?
Or post it in Facebook of Samsung!
I understand it is for rooted phones however it dealt with things people on this forum would have known about and I was hoping to get some help. However obviously it seems decently unwelcoming. Thanks for your lack of hospitality and help. Much appreciated

I don't remember XDA requiring users to have a rooted device. There are plenty of XDA forums and threads that have nothing to do with root. You don't have to be rude to a user asking for help with their device. I'm not a Moderator or a Recognized Developer/Contributor but, damn man, do you have to **** on someone's post when they're asking for help? Can you help the OP? Do you have any experience with his concern? I know alot about Android to where I can try and help people but I don't know everything and I don't post **** like that and try to drive someone away.

Thank you for all of the interest in helping me out. However, I recently opened up the phone to find out that a good chunk of the internals are burned from something frying. Amazing I didn't notice heat or electrical smoke when it happened. I'm guessing when Odin3 failed it was due to the frying cutting off a path. Unfortunately, I just need to get it replaced.
