I am sure it is possible to create one. Using the themes already created for Windows 7 systems, probably is not a good idea though. With the changes made to Windows Explorer, and even to the theme files themselves, you are better off not trying it, unless you’re ok spending some time trying to undo things if something goes wrong. If you do feel the desire to try it out, use a Virtual Environment (vmWare or virtual box work good)

this is the exact same thing as rom manager from clockwork
Way more options than Rom Manager. Should be quite useful. Thanks Linsalata. Will press button also.

Seems like a super powered rom manager.

You need to look through all the settings the ROM Manger part is just one window on the app this has a lot more options then rm.

Looks nifty. Seems like it has a few more features to it than Rom Manager does by itself.

Just downloaded it and changed my fonts in a jiffy. Looks nice at first, will see later if it brings any ill effects. I think some of the parameters as vm heap size and autokiller size are best not played with. Anyone know how to avoid app names in app drawer being cut off after font change, or is it impossible to avoid with fonts other than default?

You would need to change the size of the fonts there is a app for it on the market I don't remember the name off hand.
And I used it to change vm heap with no problems I've used fix permissions as well and it seems to work.
I've played with some other things as well with no issues so far I really want to know if the battery icon changer works I'm on deck 1.3d right now so no point to try it but it would be cool if it does and the dev adds more icons.

Is there any reason to fix permissions even if you don't get any force closes? I think rom developers assign the needed values themselves so I'm not comfortable doing it and potentially compromising roms stability. I could change wireless scan interval. Also it would be better you posted in general Android forums.

What? No.
The free app is OK, but all of the useful tools are unlocked only in the paid version.
I have a question,
You guys know that ROM manager requires CWM. Now I have Amon_RA on my phone, if I install this app will it try to replace my recovery or will it use what I have?
To use Tom manager you have to use clockwork .. it will force an install.

there are 8 windows.
ok then for real now :
-Metro UI interface
-Tablet-like lockscreen
-Metro apps
-IE 10
-and more.
Try to search in google or use the search function in XDA. thank me.

Custom User Interfaces

Ok, I really am not liking Sense UI anymore. I don't really like MIUI or Vanilla Gingerbread. I would like to know where to begin in creating my own custom user interface to run over Gingerbread. Or perhaps a simpler task would be porting over other user interfaces from Motorola and Samsung to run over Gingerbread.

Why not use go launcher or adw or launcher pro. They will replace sense...

Hmm, never thought about that. Nice idea. But I guess my main purpose in making this was to see if anyone has (and can help me) created my own custom UI. It'd be nice I guess.

First you would need to learn Java and C+ coding. Next I would learn Linux as android is Linux and you will need the knowledge to work on the UI.
Have a good look through the 'post your homescreen' thread. There's a wealth of inspiration in there. Have a look in the widget thread too.
Unless i'm wrong it's not the UI that you want to change as such, but what we'd call a Layout. For all intents and purposes it's the same thing. but UI is software whereas layout is graphical. End result being you want homescreens that look nice right?
Good Launcher+Good Widgets+Wallaper+Imagination and you'd be surprised how good you can make your device look. Some of what i see in the Homescreen thread are works of art!

Well, What I really want to do is make my own thing. I mean a couple of starter ideas,
- 6 basic home screens (in a cube shape) you can change when slid vertically or horizontally
- 2-4 (based on how many you want) "tabs" on the side of choice that can hold apps, home screens would mainly be for widgets, can also be used for apps though.
I don't know, Its just ideas I wanted to be able to put into my own UI. I think I may get into coding to make my own UI.
Check out an open source launcher, it will give you an idea of how to do crap, beyond whatever is in the API docs. I think ADW is open sourced.

I would start with flashing a non sense ROM. Thus you'll get rid of sense bloat and will get a stock standard launcher or any other customizable launcher. Just look through available Roms. Personally I'd recommend CM 7.

Is there any windows phone 7 like theme for our optimus one.

Get Launcher 7 from the Play Store. It's the closest thing I've found to Windows Phone 7. Their project also has other apps that emulate the whole WP7 experience.
