So i recommanded a ZTE blade to a friend who wanted a cheap smartphone.
ZTE Gen 1 - 3.2MP (Belgium - Mobistar - Model name "San Francisco")
Installed the latest CM7 Stable upgrading it to GEN2.
Worked fine but now's he's suddenly having issues with the build-in speakers and we are quite certain that it's a hardware problem.
Now i would like to restore it to a stock ZTE rom to test the device and if needed return it to the store (with an explanation what happend)
I'm a bit uncertain on how to do this and these forums don't make it any easier since there seem to be different version of this phone!
Could anyone point me in the right direction?

Hi All,
I bought my A500 from US. But i am using this tablet in India. I noticed that Acer is rolling out updates for Gen1 builds much faster when compared with Gen2. Please suggest if i can change my Rom build from (Acer_A500_7.006.01_COM_GEN2) to latest build for Gen1 (Acer_A500_7.006.03_COM_GEN1). Can i just simply download the latest Rom for Gen1 from here and apply this using recovery mode (Power down + vol - ).
Any suggestions are welcome. Also i won't be rooting the tablet. And are there any complications involved in the process above. I am relatively new to android OS.
Many thanks,
Nitin

The GEN is the region for the ROM only, so there is no problem running a different GEN than you currently have on your ROM. I'm in the States, and currently running a GEN 1 rooted stock 3.2 ROM.
thanks bro....I changed my Rom to gen1
Hi, my brother just bought a new phone 'sfr startrail', which is obviously a blade variant. We are planning on flashing CM7, but i have some quesions concerning the phone specs.
-There is a 5Mpixel camera and not a 3Mpixel
-Baseband is: SFR_P733N01
-Kernel: [email protected]
-Build: SFR_P733NV1.0.0B04
Is it safe for me to flash root with fastboot and then flash CM7 with CWM?
Thanks for any replies! Hope to be on CM7 soon!
P733 is the Libra, which is just the Blade with slightly different hardware as you have noticed. Should be fine for you to flash CM7.
hi,
i tried many ROMs on my ZTE BLADE V2 yoigo (ES) and all had this problem, including the stock one.
When using Viber or MobileVOIP the sound would go to the external speaker and not the internal one!!
I only use the phone to make VOIP calls and internet so this is a big issue.
The problem was long discussed over the cyanogen, code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=2858
One guy, at #55 offers a libaudio.so which appears to fix this problem. Can it be inserted on this rom??? (which from all other tested, stock, cyanogen 7.2 kang this one appears to have the longest battery life)
thanks for any advice.
PS:
1. I tried the trick with opening the Radio App and closing it, does not work with this rom
2. I tried overwriting the libaudio.so inside the zip, copied the rom to the phone and installing it but it fails saying bad zip, something like this..
3. anyone can confirm a ROM version for ZTE that has this problem fixed?
CyanogenMod has this problem fixed, it's not easily possible to fix it on ZTE roms. You'd need to compile your own fixed libaudio.so a CM7 one wont work due to it being compiled for vmsplit3g & other cm7 modifications.
You can use the native gingerbread sip/voip calling feature in ZTE Gingerbread roms, as long as you're using a cm7 or aosp contacts/dialler rather than the zte version, that works ok, it's just 3rd party apps.
I've tried a lot of different Rom's for my ZTE Blade and so far I find LeWa ROM is the best of the lot.
I'm currently on version LeWa ROM V880 12.03.22
I see there is an update but for some reason can't seem to download it from the phone and install it.
So far this ROM has been the very best mix of being stable, fast and look amazing.
The menu system is the best I've seen.
I would however like to get rid of the lat bit of Chinese writing and have the entire ROM in English.
Anyone else a fan?
Anyone else managed to upgrade to a newer version?
Their website looks so professional but it's all in Chinese so I'm stuck
I'd post the link but I'm not allowed to post external links
BTW I just noticed my possible mistake - on the offical LeWa website there is a U880 ROM and a V880 ROM I think I tried to install the wrong one last time "U" instead of "V"
Anyway I upgraded to the very latest version of this ROM for V880 ZTE Blade and it works great.
Although at first boot the lock screen was totally unresponsive and none of the key would work but booting into ClockWork Mod and wiping all the various data nd caches solved the problem
This is by far the best looking ROM I've ever used on my ZTE Blade and that includes ICS ROM's.
Has anyone managed a to successfully get a gen3 blade to take a custom rom?
Got clockwork on and working, but tried swedish snow and zte blade shonk neither will boot past the green android logo?
Any ideas, as I now have a dud phone, even the bog std orange 2.3.5 rom would do for now, can't seem to find that anywhere?
I think the Gen3 Blade supports cm7.2
Not sure though. U can test it if u want
KonstaKANG works on GEN3. There's a separate ZIP to flash after flashing the main rom and gapps.
Look at second post: http://www.modaco.com/topic/355059-romgen23227-cyanogenmod-9-konstakang-android-404/
Orange 2.3.5 rom? Are you sure you have a Blade? Is it a San Francisco or a San Francisco 2? They're totally different phones. AFAIK Orange didn't do a 2.3.5 rom for the Blade. If you really do have a gen3 blade (not blade2/crescent/san francisco 2 or any other phone) then you should convert it to gen2, easiest way is using the tpt helper app.

Depending on which gen3 you have you might not be able to convert it to gen2.
I know the Swedish gen3 Blades cannot be converted and if you try you'll end up with a blue screen with white stripes across it.
NO TPT's work for this blade apart from the windows gen3 TPT, not even the gen3 TPT's from Amphoras work, they all give the same result.
But yeah, you can either use the MMHP patch if you want to run SS RLS7 or the newer patch (it's in the KonstaKANG thread), it will work for ANY rom apart from SS RLS7.
