I think it is a good combination..its improves a lot my battery life. HOW ABOUT U?

Is any one else getting terrible battery life with jk6

I get 4 hours tops.
I was getting almost 18 on j2.
What did i or need to do?
Did you installed another kernel?
I get great battery life...
I installed the stock jk6 that som posted.

Oh the post with the words and the zip file?
Lol we need more than that to help.... what post?
I get anywhere from 10-16 hours on Macnut 13 with JK6, depending on usage
4 hours with what?

I get great battery life with jk6. 5 hours idle and didn't drop even one percent, but it drains fast if I use wifi.
What if you delete MediaHub and DRMua?
I seem to get much better battery without those.
I also enable WIFI during sleep... it's in the advanced settings under wifi.
And of course I remove all of the other bloat apps.
JK6 with all the crap removed and I average 18-24 hours with moderate use. The lowest I've seen is 12 hours and I had the screen on for almost 7 of those.
Looking forward to when we get source code and can run an undervolted kernel.
I get really great battery with JK6. I suggest you to do battery conditioning.
JK6 has great idle battery life for me but as soon as i start to use the phone for low activities it drain faster. By "low activities" i mean as in making call, use map, navigation, changing settings.....
Here is my usage report:
3h since unplugged from over night charge
73% left
Display on for 45m 19s (lowest setting w/ auto brightness turn off)
Voice call 45m 21s
Cell standby 3h
Phone idle 2h 15m
To me this was worst than when i was running JI6. Also i lost 3G every now and then in the same area that i travel everyday.

Using maps and navigation are some of the most power-consuming tasks you can do with this phone. Navigation in particular killed my Vibrant dead in a few hours.
The kswap process eats a upon of battery when in use on the jk2 roms. I thought jk6 had this fixed, but it may just be better on the custom roms. I get great battery life on my jk6 rom.

Getting excellent battery life, 1+ day with 30% left when I last charged it last night. I moderately use it too, some browsing/gaming, along with heavy texting and occassional GPS use.

I had similar battery life using various custom kernels. Installed Aux. 2.1 with stock. With heavy use I am running around 8 hours. Normal use around 12-16. Those other kernels will eat your battery alive. Try a stock kernel. Conditioning doesn't do crap.

noticed this also, doesn't really make a difference to me.
Most of these problems are user error. I woke up today with around 70% this mourning at 7am. Its 12 hrs later and im at 42%.
My Day:
combined 45min of calls
atleast 30 txt message
Ton of emails and they sync all day
Started my music player at 9 and didnt pause until 5pm. playing out of speaker
Browse the internet off and on all day
downloaded a 100mb mixtape torrent through 3g
screen brightness at about 60%
Probably a couple other things but app called Battery Left is telling me I have 10hrs left.
I really suggest running all stock. I need no lagfix/special kernal or anything with the newest leaked samsung firmware. Havent had a single issue since I switched to this rom.
I'm sorry, but I have a very hard time believing that, ALL THAT, only took 28% battery.
17%after a couple more torrents. Not wirth trying to prove but the stock rom made my extended battery worthless besides special occasions.

Thanks for the help. My battery died after four hours as expected. Plugged in and reconditioned and let it charge till it was full. Now It's been about five hours unplugged and I'm down to ninety six percent.
However as some of you have posted my battery drains VERY fast once I use it sparsely. It dropped almost 5 percent after a few mins of browsing the market. Weird. But whatever standby is amazing.

SyndicateROM Frozen (EB13) - Battery Life Thread

Hey guys,
Just created this thread so we could all have our battery life info in once place and keep the dev thread from getting cluttered.
Please post the following info:
1. Standard or Fully Loaded version
2. Total hours unplugged and percentage
3. Details (percentage and time) for each service
4. And any pertinent details such as apps used (juice defender), or extended batterys
Also, please don't forget to calibrate, airplane bug fix, and kill that drm.
Ex. (will edit with final time)
1. Loaded
2. Total - 8h50m @66%
3.
Display - 55m 78%
Cell standby - 8h50m 9%
Wifi - 6h40m 7%
Phone idle - 7h54m 4%
Voice - 1m 3%
4. Juice defender, setcpu @ 100/1000
Ideally we want to wait for a full drain to post stats but this is just an example. Thx guys looking forward to seeing what you all are getting.
Just installed it will get back to you in a couple of days after recalibrating my battery.
Btw, i hear Juice defender does more harm than good...

Battery drain
Hello everyone, noob here. I can't post in the development forum on this but it pertains to the battery and charge to a degree. Maybe someone here can help me in some sort of way.
I rooted and flashed the SyndicateROM Frozen yesterday, used it all day and never a hiccup. This thing is lightning fast and props to the dev's but here is the only issue I found. This morning after waking up I noticed the phone was stuck on the ACS android startup icon. I plugged in to charge last night and it's like it froze the phone when it reached full charge. Anyone else experience this?
Thanks for any help that I receive.

I think I read in the dev thread that it's a known problem with the kernel? Or maybe it was the rom... or CWM? anyways the dev's know about it. Just don't charge your phone when it's off.
Battery for me seems to be a lot better than stock, but I'm always charging here and there... today I'll let it run without charging for 4-5 hours and I'll report back. Using a lot of setCPU profiles.

Are you charging it with the power OFF? Lots of people were posting issues of freezing when charging with the battery off --- and I think the probs are related to CWM -- not the ROM. Only charge while the phone is on -- and you should not see problems.
I put on to charge with the power on last night because I had set the alarm to wake me up and it never did so that is when I noticed it. I don't think I've ever charged it with the power off, even when it was stock.
Maybe the dev's will come up with a fix sometime in the future. As for now, I'm happy as hell 'cause this ROM is great.

Did this just happen once? If it doesn't happen over and over, I wouldn't consider it a bug. I have only heard of issues like you describe with the power off.
I'm looking at 12 hours on ACS Frozen on average. I haven't even gotten close to the rumored 30 hours with "heavy use" I think my use has been moderate. My battery use log only only lists display 98% and cell standby 2%. This confuses me. I do more than sit there staring at my homescreen.

How you use your phone makes a difference and while 30h is possible, I don't see it happening with heavy use unless that is little display use. Below is my most recent "heavy use" run. Basically tried to use the phone all day, xda app, browsing, mainly wifi, 0% screen brightness.
1. Loaded
2. 8h7m @5%
3.
Display - 5h33m 95% <- serious display use which kills the phone quick
Wifi - 4h56m 2%
Cell standby - 8h7m 2%
Voice - 4m30s 2%
4. Setcpu @100/1000, juicedefender, 0% brightness
Pretty good considering the insane display usage. With normal use I get over 20h so that just shows how fast it kills your battery. Going to do an "extreme" run next to include heavy cpu use (play emulators all day haha).

You did that with a standard battery? I haven't seen anyone post more than 4 hours of display "time on". That's impressive. Maybe I should try 0% brightness. I have mine at 25%. Are you on "Conservative" on SetCPU?

The 98% means that 98% of your battery use is coming from the screen. Click on where is says 98% and look at see what the use details are (the "time on"). Generally, most people are getting less than 4 hours of display time on with a single charge. The explanation is that some people stretch 4 hours of display time over 30 hours of use. In other words, the people who are getting 30 hours of use only have their screen on 10 - 15% of the time (or less).

Yes, using the standard battery. Setcpu is on conservative. I always use 0% as it looks great (kick it up tp 25-50% outside). I think I was able to get that long of display use due to minimizing cpu usage and other services. All I did is browse in dolphin and use xda app. And, that was pretty much all on wifi. Only change was the hour I was at the dog park on 3g and I recorded a 5 min video.
I bet my gaming session tomorrow will kick it down to ~4 hours
With phone calls, texting, and music player, I average between 16-18hrs. If I start to web browse or watch videos then about 8-12hrs. Very impressed with this ROM to say the least.
1. Standard
2. 31 @ 5%
3. don't have that it was yesterday
4. standard battery, auto brightness, overclocked to 1.2, wifi on when I was at home and 3g at work.
I calibrated the day after froyo dropped. I didn't do the airplane thing and I thought drm was not in this rom. So in other words I didn't do any fancy stuff.
I will note today I tried 1ghz (which is undervolted) with 4G on all day (I have a repeter on my roof at work) and after 14.5 hours I am at 30% with about the same concistancy of usage as yesterday.
Edit: I only have 1 gmail syncing right now. We will see if I get these magical numbers when I put my other 2 gmail accounts and my 3 actice sync exchange accounts on Monday.

I'm getting mixed battery life. The first day on the rom/kernel I dropped down to 79% in 9 hours, with medium use (no web browsing). I was getting 1% drop every 1-2hrs, and thought it was amazing. Today I tried to be really conservative and didn't use it at all and it dropped 4-5% every hour WHILE IDLE.
Anyone else experiencing the same problem? It seems to happen after a reboot to be honest.
NOTE: If I disable data network mode, battery life is amazing,
I'm not sure about my battery life. I charge mine differently than the average person though. I charge it at work and leave it in my desk, because I use it a lot during my lunch break or whenever I get any downtime. When I get home it's usually at about 70%, and it remains unplugged until the next day. I used to have to charge it at home and at work.

Battery Tips?

I just want to know what I can do to improve my battery on CM7 nightly 32. I'm at 21 hours now and almost dead. Yet I see people get stuff like 2 days and 10 hours... I have tasker and the only profile I have is when the screen goes off it turns mobile data off (not sure If it works so I also use apndroid). I NEVER use wifi, bluetooth, or high brightness. I do however have gps on so in case I lose my phone is lost or stolen I can track it. So there's no way I'm disabling that. I have tried juice defender but figured since it can't effectively disable data for 2.3.3 I saw no point in the app. Any tips?

21 hours on moderate use is great battery life. 12 hours is usually the measuring stick for smartphones, less is bad, greater is good.
Don't know who you saw getting two days plus, but they are either not touching their phone or have an extended battery.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2
Best way to extend battery life is to get an extended or high capacity battery. I just got the Mugen Power pack, not the chunky one, and im in the process of breaking it in.
On my stock battery i was getting about 17hrs of moderate use. Almost no talk but alot of texting, engadget and youtube mostly on wifi with gps always on. That might give you an idea, plus, there are countless battery related threads on here.
Will post back in afew days after my Mugen has cycled afew times.

I have 4 stock replacement batterys and never plug my phone in to the charger. When my phone is at about 5% i just take one out and pop the next one in and charge them in the wall... I know its not the answer you want but I never have a problem with battery life lol
I would agree that 21 hours is great battery life on this phone. I can get a week of battery life on my phone if I put it in airplane mode and stick it in my desk drawer =P
Not sure how big of an impact the tasker profile has. Unless your screen is off for long periods of time I would think that it might harm the battery life because every time you touch the device, it has to 'search' and connect to the tower again.
You can try running the phone at the stock CPU speed to see if that has an improvement on your battery life. I currently run the same 1017/245 as you with a screen off profile set at 245/245.
For me, as long as I can make it through a day's use, the battery life is fine. With moderate use I can go about 15-18 hours and heavy use I'm at around 12. The car charger in those cases is a life saver.
Bottom line is, battery life really depends on your usage habits. Those people getting days out of their phones likely aren't using them very much...
well i have setcpu set at 806 max and 245 min. screen off is at 245/245 and on powersave governor. other then that its on ondemand. i also have profile set to reduce the CPU based on battery. I have it set to <101% its at 806/245 , <41% its at 768/245 and less then 25 is 368/245. i realize that these are low speed but i hardly ever get lag and i use it for everything, music, video, youtube, internet, twitter, facebook, xda , and a here and there gmail. i guess if im getting exceptional battery life... anyone want some tips?
I find the more variation I put into profiles on setcpu, the worse my battery life gets. Theory - it is constantly watching and making changes based on your CPU needs and battery. So I have mine set to 1113-1113 performance, 245-245 powersave screen off, 245-245 powersave 45degrees+ and for your mobile data, try just having a widget to turn it on and off as you need it. You probably don't need it on everytime you turn on your screen do you?

The apndroid widget eventually gets out of sync with on/off with the data... I think its gingerbread. Most apps can't effectively turn the radio off. I hope they make one soon!

I find the stock battery to be not that great. I bought the Chichi batteries way back in October (when they were still considered cheap) and theyve been great. I havent really done any new tests since October, but back then (before I had a data plan) I was getting atleast a day and more (from 100% to dead) with moderate usage.
I'd look for a high capacity battery, though they seem to be expensive now.

My mothers g2 is rooted and running cm7 nightly 29 or 30, I installed it last week. I asked her today for the first time how the battery was after a week. She is using an aftermarket 1800mah battery, wifi only at home, she was almost at 32 hours and had 39% battery left!!!!
Not sure of all settings but i put it on 1113mhz, on demand with min 368, autobacklight, wifi only at home, bluetooth is always connected and on. Talk is about 70% of her usage overall. 4 gmail accounts. I did not install set cpu at all. I even stopped it on my phone because it didnt help me one bit.
Not too shabby. I was at 57% with some texting but a lot of gps usage for latitude and wifi always on even when not at home.

here is what i get out of a day (battery consumption for specific tasks are mentioned in percentages measured using juiceplotter)
wifi on constantly
display set to 24% brightness
background sync enabled (google, weather 6hrs, whatsapp and facebook once a day)
45 min video (rockplayer no h/w decoding) 15%
1 hr browsing+chat 15%
30 min calls 6%
20 min music+chat 5%
20 min general usage 5%
1 hr flash streaming 15%
24 hrs standby 24% (@ 1% for every hr of standby)
15% battery remaining after 24 hrs i.e. low battery warning.
i disabled the use wireless network option under locations and always on mobile data
and get much better battery life, also i use wifi constantly when available (which is 90% of the time), it is much better for battery life than using 3g or gprs/edge.
pretty amazing battery life IMO i am very happy.
So i have cycled my Mugen 1800mA battery acouple times. on average, i'm able to get about 27hrs of heavy use. Here are some settings as a baseline:
Always on Data
Wifi always on
Auto brightness
1GHz clock speed
massive amounts of text use
massive amounts of screen on time
will report back in afew days time after some more cycles.

what about battery of Iconia A500

hi all
I'll buy Iconia A500
But I heard that the battery life 4-5 hr only
is it really ?
Also learned that it can run USB 3G Modem by patch.. Search for a video on YouTube about this but did not found.. is there video ?? and how much battery life when using 3G Modem..
mmmmmmmmmm
if battery bad
can i change batter?? any tablet battery can be used??
I apologize for the many qestions and my bad language
I don't know about the rest, but my battery lasts about 9 hours of reading e-books and comics, some games (a lot of gaming = about 6 hours). I don't do much video watching, but someone who does can answer that for you..
To answer the obvious, battery life depends on the kind of use you put it to.
Reading eBooks, playing games can be quite draining on the battery. Maybe up to about 7-9 hours. If you light browsing, wifi always on to get mail and do light reading, you could potentially get up to about 50 hours or more of battery life.
Cheers!
thanks for answer
what about USB 3G Modem ??
Best I can tell you need either one of the custom ROMs or a custom kernel file for the 3g USB modems; see the A500 Developer forum for more details. Battery life shouldn't be horribly affected while using an external modem, although you will lose some battery life.
My Iconia tends to last the entire day on a single charge; I leave the WiFi on full time for the most part, and get a couple of hours of off-and-on web, email and e-Reading during the day with a good solid 3-5 hours use at night. I do suggest charging once a day just to keep from running out unexpectedly, but I have had it last two days of light use before when I missed the charger being unplugged...
i cant confirm battery life with a 3g modem attached but without one my tablet usually last about 2 days, thats with wifi always on but with airplane mode on(helps with the cell standby bug for me), 5 hours of display time mostly web browsing, downloading and email usage.

Travel 30 mins to office with light web browsing (90%)
Leave office at 85%
Play dungeon defender (3D game) during 30 mins travel back home (7X%)
[web browsing + dungeon defender] (total 3 hrs), the battery still get around 50%
So, now, the battery has been off charger for 20 hrs, and the battery is around 50%.
I say 'great' for the battery life.

I believe s-off has something to do with the 'radio' in the tablet, which sends and receives signals. The cell standby bug is that when Acer made the software for the tablet, they never disabled the 3g module that continuously looks for a 3g signal. This is a big battery drain and can be disabled by using an app that will do it for you, if your device is rooted.
I have a question: I have been thinking about getting the a100 which is supposed to come out 'early august.' It looks like the only differences will be the screen size, half the RAM, and maybe the size of the battery(s) they put in the tablet.
Can anyone give me information on how their battery life is while listening to music? Is it a massive drain, or is it nice on the system and not cause much issue?
Thanks for the information!

[web browsing + dungeon defender] (total 3 hrs), the battery still get around 50%
So, now, the battery has been off charger for 20 hrs, and the battery is around 50%.
I say 'great' for the battery life.

Hi,
may I know you are using original ROM or which custom ROM?
I am currently using "Prime 9-3" with OC1.4Ghz.
But I can't really get the battery status you share.
So hope to know what ROM you currently using.

I do wish people wouldn't keep repeating this blatant misinformation.
How can there be a battery drain when the cell hardware doesn't even exist? Sure, the app is polling, but there's no hardware there so the ONLY battery drain is the minor amount caused by the app running. What you're seeing in the battery status is merely a erroneous data caused by the app failing to connect to the non-existent cell hardware.
If the battery usage it indicates were true, your battery would be flat in about 6-8 hours. Mine is now on its 3rd day without charging and is STILL above 40%

You can't really depend on having battery life like that if your using it. He's got 20 hours off the charger but it was idle mist of those 20 hours. Me with heavy usage internet, quick games, YouTube I get about 9-10 hours

Official Idol 3 Battery Thread

I figured we could get this started, so we can start to post stats and screenshots once you finish initial setup/installation and get into regular daily use.
went to bed last night with the idol at 75%. woke up and it was still at 75% to my surprise. (and I did the update right out of the box, for anyone wondering.)
Seem to be great, can't wait fort mine
The phone arrived at around 40-45%. Spent around 2 hrs updating/installing/customizing stuff which was enough to drop the battery to 15%. Mind you that almost all factory settings were still there like vibrate on almost everything and sound on almost everything. Battery was fully charged rather quickly. I had around an hour of SoT before going to bed with around 80-75%. I woke up to a 70% battery after 10 hrs ( I slept in).
I think battery on mine could be improved by turning down the Google Now settings. It is the most power hungry in the battery stats at 9%. Oddly, the location icon is almost always on even if I'm not doing any location related tasks. I'm hoping to look into this more and fully test the battery tomorrow when I go to Sta. Cruz.
The Idol 3 just won't die! I'm using it around the house. Haven't actually put a sim card in it yet, so that might explain some of the great battery life that I've been getting. But this is the first full power cycle after getting it on Saturday. Auto brightness, full sync. I had to stop at 11% so I could do a charge test today. But I have no doubt that this 11% could have gotten me another hour of screen on time. Tons of streaming Sirius too over the front facing speakers (like 5 hours). Very impressed so far. The price is justified by the screen and the speakers alone in my opinion. Add great battery life to the mix and it's a pretty special device IMO.
Charging time is done. Used an Anker 2.0 Quick Charge (just to make sure it got the maximum it could handle). Went from 11% to 100% in 2 hours and 28 minutes. Not too shabby considering how long it holds on to the charge.
Bettery drain while on wifi
Hi, I have bad battery drain while on wifi. What I noticed is that cell signal goes from empty to full while unlocking screen. It goes up to 10% per hour. But when I was away from home for few hours on lte, it was very minimal. Any ideas? Software bug or maybe some app is causing that? Thanks!

Did you do the update that appeared as soon as you turned it on out of the box? I had the phone on wifi all weekend (it never left the house) and the battery life was amazing. See my posts above. And I did the update first thing when I got mine.

Yeah, that's the first thing I did. Today I'm on LTE all day long and battery is amazing. But when on Wi-Fi my cell signal goes to emergency back and forth. Maybe my phone is a lemon

I should have checked the battery life before loading all my apps but I forgot. During sleep hours I only have the wifi, auto sync and phone antenna enabled. I also either use the adaptive brighness at 50% or have the brightness set to about 20% with adaptive disabled. The first night I checked the battery overnight usage it was down 16% in 10 hours. That was also runny 3 apps on the notification area. The drain comes to 1.6% per hour. The next night I removed the 3 apps that run in the notification area and the drain was 10% in 8 hours, which comes to 1.25% per hour. That's better than my old phone but I still think it's too high. No apps are open in the recent apps screen.
Is anyone getting better or worse? I would like to compare my battery drain with everyone else.
Edit: I did disable Wifi Network Notification and Scanning Always Available. I'm not sure what kind of effect they have on the battery though.

Did you wipe your cache after the OTA update? I remember my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 had temporary issues with battery life that were cleared up by a wiped cache/factory reset.

It didn't work. That's too serious issue for me. Sending back to amazon. I'll stay with my G3 and 6000mAh battery. Waiting for G4 price drop

I have the HTC m8 and g3, had the m9...
I think you have a problem with Google apps...Because with the m8 I had 7 hours screen on time in 24 hours, 6 hours with the m9, 5 hours with the g3...
And every reviewer criticizes the bad battery life of the g3 vs the very good battery life of the idol[emoji2]

Yesterday was my first battery experience day. I have to say it turned out pretty good. I got roughly 16hrs from 100% charge down to 15% charge. I got a battery warning when i was headed to bed. Throughout the day, here's a list of the things I did in general to give a scope on usage:
* I had all services on, LTE, Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS (High precision)
* i used it to read a kindle book. I had my screen set at about 80% brightness the whole day.
* I have "Automatic" app which uses the phone GPS to track my drives to and From work.
* I ran with Runkeeper GPS
* also streamed music to and from work on my wohle commute (roughly 45 minutes).
* Then throughout the day did normal checking of various apps and websites, and notifications.
* In general during the work day I don't use it much from 9-5, except maybe to check it once an hour , and read a little.
Previously on my Nexus 4, I would have had to have it charging all the way to work. Then charging all the way home, and many times it wouldn't make it to bed time without another charge. With the Idol 3, i didn't put it on a charger once throughout the whole day. Pretty awesome.
This is my second full day. I expect that it will improve after a few cycles but I have absolutely nothing to complain about. WiFi on most of the day. 2 Gmail accounts syncing, Bluetooth on, display only at 50%, (not to save battery, but just because I don't need it any higher)
I have a few small hiccups with the DTTW but it isn't terrible.
P.S. This blows away my Zenfone 2 in battery life.
Battery life is ridiculously good. Charging my phone is no longer a pressing issue for me nowadays. Personally, I am indoors most of the day so I have set my screen brightness to 0% and it is perfectly fine. When I am outdoors, I will pump up the brightness to 100% which increases the battery consumption noticeably.
I've had the phone for a week and a half and still have never gotten down low enough for Battery Saver mode to kick in.
For me battery hold amount of charge EOD.
100% in morning around 10 AM.
1. wifi/4g ON all the time.
2. GPS during commute to work and vice-versa
3. Music app for 1.5-2 hrs.
4. played game for 2 hrs.
5. normal browsing.
Now @ 7 PM : still 45% left.
For those still unhappy with the battery life here are a few free apps that can help:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.gpo.greenpower&hl=en [ Battery saver...does things like only keep wifi on periodically to check for hotspots and only turn on bluetooth when charging etc ]
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vitocassisi.luxlite&hl=en [ Adjust screen brightness based on light levels ]
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keyes.screebl.classic [ Keeps screen on when phone is held in upright position but quickly turns screen off when phone is placed flat ]
I use the pay versions of these and consider them worthwhile.
Does anyone know how the automatic brightness works or if its even useful to have it on
