(Q) DBV-T Stick on Vega - Vega General

Hye guys!
I have a little question. I have a dvb-t tv stick connected to my pc, but I would really love it to have it on my Vega. Does anyone know if that's possible? I currently run ViewComb build 6. I know that in Corvus 5, there were additional .ko files. There were also for a dvb stick, but I don't know how to handle them. Can anybody help me?
Thanks!

If you can get it to connect correctly wouldn't you also need an app to watch TV?
I tried to search on the market but couldn't find anything.
And it's DVB-T and not DBV-T!

Could be possible.
Someone got a TV Tuner working on their Nexus One, details here.
Whether it works in Honeycomb? No idea.

Good find BTaylor927!
So you need to recompile a kernel to support kernel modules?
I guess stock kernel doesn't support modules, here is a custom kernel or use Corvus5 ROM or any other ROM with custom kernel that supports modules.
And you need the modules (.ko files that are mentioned in the script).
Those kernel modules needed to be recompiled or you can use those on this site?
Then you just play that "dvr0.ts" file that the script generates with any video player that supports playing Transport Stream (MPEG-2 Video Stream) (eg. VPlayer).
I think this goes like this (basically it's like on that site).
thomskipsp report back how it went, because I don't have a DVB-T USB stick.

[Q] How to build modules?

Hello guys! My first post here although i've been watching the forums for a long time.
To the point:
I recently bought a Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi). I also own a RTL2832 based DVB usb dongle.
What I want to do is run Multiboot (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011403) and this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1841759. In the DVB dongle thread there are built modules for the latest kernel. BUT, when i flash Multiboot kexec-hardboot-patch the last numbers of the kernel version, change so I cannot load the modules.
So, can anyone drive me to the right direction on how to build these modules?
Thanks!
In the Google search box at the top of the page (in between where it says "Devices by OS or Manufacturer" and "FIND YOUR DEVICE..."), type in the following:
NDK building kernel modules
and hit enter.
I was hoping for something more noob-friendly but I'll give it a try anyway. Thanks!

[Q] USB WIFI TP-WN722n $15

Hi have been trying to get a TP-WN722N to run on my i9505 rooted and cwm recovery
TP-WN722N chipset = atheros ar9271
needs ath9k_htc driver
and htc_9271.fw
has anyone got a module i can insmod?
Am new to android as of 2 days ago so am still learning how to do everything. Bricked about 3 times.
Am trying to connect this usb wifi adapter to get monitor mode and injection. for aircrack/reaver
(maxters - aircrack-suite-for-galaxy-note-2)
or a link to a newbie tutorial to build kernel source supporting ath9k drivers?
Anyway will donate $15 to anyone that can get me running (is this allowed?)
cheers
Will still donate if somebody can help
compile kernel
Am about to compile kernel from source and build modules.
Will post after if it is successful and anyone is interested?
Will try do ath9k and rtl8187 drivers.
success
Success. Had problems with compiling on ubuntu 13.04. Then couldn't insmod the compiled modules due to dependencies for the mac80211 module so I ended up just compiling wanams adam kernel with the required modules built in and bang no more problems. Copied firmware to folder.
Tp link tl-wn722n wifi adapter running in monitor mode. Aircrack and reaver working with no problems. No -1 channel issue. hasn't cause any other problems with the phones built in wifi or anythng else.
Hope someone may find this useful. Will upload when i can post links if anyone wants it. But would be better to compile yourself
P.s. i am using this for easy pentesting on networks which i have permission. Not intended for illegal purposes.
This is awesome! Great work, i would love you to update the files as i am pretty new to linux...

So you placed all of the modules and everything into a kernel and flashed it? May you please post a link in a drop box or something, to the working kernel with the modules in it?
Sorry for the huge bump

Hi there. Decided to stop lurking and finally made an account. Also, I realize this is an incredible bump, but it's the only thread I could find on the subject.
I managed to compile the latest release of the CM11 kernel (same as my S4 is running) with ath9k and mac80211 support baked in (not modular), but my AR9271 is still b0rked. It shows up in lsusb, so it's working, but not functioning. I've tried like, everything....... except giving it extra power. Did you need to do that? AFAIK it only draws about 200-300 mA at most, and the S4 is more than capable of that ._.
Does anyone know if there's something special needed to get the adapter working apart from plugging it in? I'm losing sleep D:

RK3066 (MK802 III) Flashtool and Android 4.4.2

Recently I found this interesting Tool ... and I successfully flashed "Allminipc_ug802_RT8188_4.4_720p.img" (Kitkat version) on my MK802 III using Debian Linux 7.5!
Regards, mistersixt.
In case someone is interested: I successfully installed the rk3066 drivers for WinXP using Moborobo, rooted the device with the kingo root tool, and I was able to installed the xposed framework 2.6, too, including XPrivacy, root cloak etc.
So I have a fully 4.4.2 running MK802 III with root access and Xposed framework!
Regards, mistersixt.

Very interesting..Any chance you could share the firmware image file and also let us know how has it been so far...is it fast enough and does the Wifi and Camera (UVC drivers compatible) work w/ this ?
Also could you confirm if this is for MK802III and not MK802IIIS...
Cheers

It is the MK802III, and the stick is running fast and stable. Wifi is as bad as with 4.1 ... but I think this is a general (or hardware related) issue, I am using it with a USB to LAN adapter anyway.
Concerning the camera I have no idea.

Hi,
Thanks for your response.
I've just installed this firmware on my MK802III and it seems no audio video app is working properly. Youtube does not show any video or sound. Neither can I play youtube in the browser.
No streaming media player works either. Only the local media files are playing properly.
The playstore seems to take ages to install apps because of speed, however when I check the internet speed using speed testing app it gives a good enough speed of 7Mbps.
Also i've noticed that there the wifi network connections are getting dropped abruptly. The wifi connection itself seems to be OK but connection from apps such as Airdroid drop out and upload from my local machine via Airdroid takes ages w/ speeds in Kbps.
Can this be fixed please.
Thanks,
OP

can confirm, that works great on Measy U2A.
MK802IIIs up and running
Works brilliantly on my MK802IIIs. Wifi is strong and Bluetooth works out of the box. Already rooted and CWM recovery installed. Now its time for some Xposed magic! Anyone has an idea which XBMC version will run best on this?
I'm using the ROM from this thread http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player...73-full-1080p-modded-kit-kat-4-4-2-rk3066-rom
Super fast and stable, its like a new machine coming from the old JB ROM I had on there. I can actually use it now.
This ROM is for an Imito device but the MK802IIIS is identical hardware.
Few OC kernels in that thread to to play with.

Hi,
The rom seems nice but I just can't get it to run correctly on my MK802IIS. I just flashed the rom on this thread (V 1.1 ) without flashing a custom kernel. Just flashed the entire rom. And after the first boot, I see the apps update (the optimization screen) and then I'm stuck on the screen where there is an Android icon on the top with a blue bar underneath. This screen just keeps blinking and seems to be impossible to pass. I can access the settings, but I found impossible to activate wifi or lan.
Ozzy, you seem to have a MK802IIIS, did I miss something during the flashing? Do I need to flah a custom kernel after flashing the rom?

I just flashed the basic ROM with the unmodified kernel. I did try one of the OC kernels but it wasn't stable on my device.
The screen you mention doesn't sound familiar to me.
Did you do a full wipe?

Hi, thanks for your answer mate
Yeah I did a full wipe, that's why I don't understand what's happening to me. I see someone on the thread has the exact same problem, but doesn't precise on which device, so I preferred to ask you first, as we have the same device.
I'll just try the v.1.0, mabe that 1.1 version doesn't run on my key. Did you flash the 1.1 or the 1.0 ?
Hello
I know I am a bit off topic but this TV stick is based on the same CPU....Can somebody help me ?
I ordered this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dual-Core...g-/111655649656?ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123 and seller's understanding of the English language is very close to none
Can somebody tell me which webcam models does it support ?
I have just installed Allminipc_ug802_RT8188_4.4_720p on an MK802III. I have used it for an hour and installed all my apps etc.
Both sound and Wifi (Realtek) seems to work.
I've been using mine daily since I posted last time. It works fine except for some hick ups.
Sometimes during bootup it hangs with just 3 penguins on the screen.
And I'm running out of internal disk space all the time. I never did that on the official 4.2 even though I had many more applications installed then. Any ideas how to fix that?
Help please...

Enabling A2DP Sink in CM11

One thing I've always wanted to do with my Q was to stream bluetooth audio directly to it over A2DP, but the Bluedroid doesn't support that.
However, I came across this code (and this related blog post) that claimed to have gotten A2DP sink working on Android 4.4 by modifying a host of source files. I tried to build CM11 for the Q following this guide (with the hope of applying those changes to Bluedroid) but can't get anything to build without errors, modified or unmodified.
Anyone else interested in this, or have any advice on A2DP support? Are there any better guides for building CyanogenMod for the Q?

Been wanting to tinker with this, wondering if anyone has tried yet, if so could you point me in the right direction as Google, and duck duck haven't yielded any results.

Yes it can be unlocked with the standard bootloader unlocking instructions for pixels. We are working on LineageOS for it, currently the repos have already been forked to the primary organization. We are just doing the finishing touches to it before it will go official.

To expand on this there are a few devices that are very similar so they share the common device tree. Google ADT-3 (Deadpool) and Dynalink TV box (Wade) are using the same board. Onn box is a variant of the board used on those with a few features and hardware removed to cut cost presumably. Everything is sharing a common kernel because amlogic has a unified kernel that supports all their soc's.
Unified kernel means this can be easily ported to s912?
Thanks for the info. Will that allow root, and backup using twrp? Software is part of equation, I'm working on a hardware piece to allow more storage, but I have to wait on the more savvy software guys like you to cover the ends I can't. You guys rock!!

Hey folks - I've installed Lineage OS "dopinder" for the Walmart Onn Android TV device. Can't run Netflix on it. Ultimately I want YouTube without ads.
Looks like I will need to run Magisk on this thing.
Can anybody help me run Magisk on the standard OS? It would be nice to have Netflix and also to be able to install some kind of ad-free YouTube. Has anybody done this yet? Anybody working on it?
I'm a noob to all this but if anybody would like to help me, I would love to try and get Magisk working.
For starters, does anybody know where I can get the stock/factory image? I erased mine when I installed Lineage OS on the Onn Android TV UHD device.
Do I need the stock recovery, too?

No need for rooting or flashing a new ROM. You can easily have ad-free youtube with Smart Tube Next. All you *should* need is the SmartTubeNext apk from github, a USB OTG cable with power, a USB stick, and a file explorer from the play store. Navigate to the USB stick and install the apk. Allow sideloading when it asks you. Log in and enjoy. Netflix should be available on the stock ROM.
This is all assuming the USB port on the ONN is OTG capable, which most streaming sticks have.
Hello, do your devices has parental control settings? My 4k box no

From my understanding the stick version (for $25) is not OTG capable. The box though (for $30) is OTG capable as I have checked it out myself. You have to use a FAT32 filesystem though otherwise the OS won't read the drive.
it’s now $20 at Walmart. Best value for sure
I'm looking for the universal remote codes for the uhd 4k box.........anyone have those? Thanks.
Does Netflix and Amazon prime still remain fully functional with lineage os or no?
Is there a specific section/thread for developement for this box on here? I just picked one up seems pretty sweet for 20 bucks!

Development is pretty good on this thread: [UNOFFICIAL] LineageOS 18.1 for Amlogic G12*/SM1 Family Devices. It can get a little confusing due to the mixture of several devices, so you should read pretty much the whole thing.
I'm sticking with rooted stock on the 1st of 2 that I got until Lineage gets a bit more refined. Many thanks/kudos to those in that thread for all they have done and are still working on.
Second one is still pure stock OOB (never setup or connected to the Internet) that I am just experimenting with prior to actually flashing/modifying anything. It is still bootloader locked, yet I can still boot the Lineage recovery (odd). Actually flashing it w/o unlocking is doubtful, but still remains to be seen until I decide to bust it's cherry
Time permitting, I'll post some Onn Walmart (aka dopinder) specific things here if anyone gets lost over there. Just ask.
Happy trails...
