i'm running legendary rom rc2 and i'm getting the above error when launching my camera. any ideas? is this a known issue? searching didn't pull up much.
Check your SD card....
Is it mounted?
Are you able to access it?
Is it full?
Backup your data to your pc, format your sd card by booting into CWM selecting mounts and storage and format sd. Once its done, move your data back into your sd and retry your camera.

Try clearing camera and camera firmware data with titanium backup.

I received the JI6 update today, and all went well with the installation, but for some reason my vibrant can't read my sd card or the phone storage. I never rooted it or put any lag fix or any hacking like that. Everything is stock, including the sd card. When I turn it on, it says "internal storage damaged", and then the message disappears shortly after. It also says "unable to mount external sd card" with a red triangle notification. When I press mount in the phone storage settings, it does nothing.
I have rebooted the phone many times, and nothing has worked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my first post, so I am not sure if this is in the right "category". Thanks in advance.

SD Card
Mine did the same thing. I had to reformat my SD card which totally erased everything on it. (8gig) Good thing I had it backed up however I did lose some stuff. After reformating it you should be good to go.
The main problem is the internal sd card (16gb). I went to the tmobile store yesterday and all they could say was that I should try doing a factory reset. Is there any way I could get some files (pictures, etc) from the internal (16gb) sd card?

I rooted my Aria using Unrevoked's one-click method, and flashed ATTN's FR008 ROM. I currently have only the factory 2GB sd card. I dl'd APPS2SD from the market and have moved the apps that are eligible to the SD card. There are still many apps that are still on the internal storage. My internal storage usually hovers around 100MB free; for right now anyway.
How low can the internal storage get before performance begins to degrade? Would it benefit me to dl ROM Manager? I am not too familiar with the pros/cons and/or procedures for partitioning the sd card.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated! This is a great place for support and information and THANKS to all the dev's for all their hard work!!!

The internal storage you're seeing is strictly for apps and doesn't affect the operating system in any way. So no performance will ever be lost due to filling this up with as apps. To see "system"memory go menu> applications> running services. That's the one that affects performance.

What is the deal with EXT/2 and etc...?
I haven't figured out what the deal with the EXT partition is yet. I got a new 8GB card and was gonna put it in but was gonna wait til I understood all that first.
Should I Do a nandroid backup..
copy all contents of current SD card to pc...
Insert new card...
Format/Partition new card...
Copy previous backup of SD card to new card...
I'm just a little lost as to the advantage of the partition.
Any info. is greatly appreciated!
Noob question sorry, Is there a point where the memory in the device affects its performance? Like if too much of the internal memory is used will the phone run slower? Or what is the point of this apps to SD.
Using DT's A2SD method involving an ext2, 3, or 4 partition on the SD card moves every downloaded and installed app (minus system apps) onto the SD card. The A2SD provided with Froyo only allows apps that have been updated to work with A2SD would be able to move.
Moving all of your apps to the SD card is essentially the same as Cyanogen's setting to move all apps to the SD card. However, with the partition and DT's A2SD, it mounts the SD card's partition during the boot process which allows widgets and Facebook sync to be run off the SD card directly. (ie. Facebook sync will always stay synced no matter how many times you reboot, widgets will not have a "Problem Loading Widget" bar on your homescreen after you reboot)
With the normal A2SD, the apps on the SD card will load last after your phone has already booted up ("Preparing SD Card" in the notification bar).
Plus, you would be able to move your dalvik-cache (and app data --> experimental) to the SD card's partition also freeing up more internal memory.

The above steps are correct. If you want an ext partition you can do that through rom manager (will wipe sd card so back up to pc).
Unless you plan to run the DT a2sd you don't need an extension partition. Froyo a2sd moves the apps to the fat32 partition, the main partition of your sd card, not an ext partition.
I personally recommend using DT a2sd.

you could fill your internal memory up to the point where there was no more room for apps to cache I suppose. But that's really it.

Success, but need more help
Okay, I got my sd card partioned (512MB EXT, 64MB swap). I dl'd and installed DT's A2SD and the best I can tell upon reboot A2SD moved apps to SD card. The only way I can tell is using DriveWatch.
I am using GOLauncher EX and now the flipping in the tray appears to be greatly affected by the app being on the SD card. Is there a way to move selected apps back to the phone?
No there isn't.
BTW you can check if your apps are on your SD card by typing
su
a2sd check
a2sd diskspace
In the terminal emulator

What you can do is delete go launcher then unzip the rom you flashed and put the go launcher apk into the /system/app folder and rezip it. boot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvic (don't wipe data), and then reflash your rom. DT a2sd doesn't move apps on the /system partition. This is what I do with launcherpro.
EDIT: you can try just pulling the go launcher apk via ADB and then removing it from the /data/app folder and then pushing the pulled app to the /system/app folder. This would be easier but I've had apps that FC after using this method. Some work, some don't.

Great advice!. Seems there is always more than one way to skin a cat. I will give one of those methods a try.
I created some partitions for the Spartacus Kernel awhile back. I'd like to remove them now. I've Odined back to a stock ROM but they are still there.
Not sure but maybe backup everything you want from your sd card to your computer and then format your sd card.

I tried formatting the SD card and that did not work. Thank you though.
Any other ideas?
Any help please?
There is free partition manager software available online that you can download to your PC to manage any partitions on your SD card (and PC hard drive as an added bonus).

OK I am running 7.2.0-RC1 on eMMC, really happy with as my daily driver
What I'm seeing is on every book in notification there is a msg about SD is safe to remove. I do have access to my SD in file manager. But going into settings/storage /mnt/emmc is not mounted and will not mount. Is this normal?
Thanks

It is not normal. Are you sure you are seeing your SD or emmc? There is a setting that will let you swap emmc and SD. Its under cyanogenmod settings under apps, I think. Then your filemanager will think it is looking at SD, but is really looking at emmc. Take out the SD and see what your file manager sees. That coupled with your SD not being mounted properly could be what's happening.
tried your suggestion
First thanks for your reply.
I have gone to settings/CyanogenMod Settings and activated "use internal storage", power off and then remove SD.
After rebooting I still see emmc and sd empty in file manager app
ok after making above changes here is what it says in settings/storage
SD: unavailable
internal 5gb total and 4gb free
additional storage /mnt/emmc: 29gb and 10gb free
*update*
Ok I have tried to wipe my system and redo everything using the newest Mirage 7.2-RC1 3/30/2012
I first booted with my 1gb clockwork recovery sd and wipe system and cache and then install new rom
afterward restore apps (only) using titanium backup
I still have the notification that "SD is clear to remove"
but I can access my sd, not sure if I am able to access EMMc, although everything works as it should
Also I have parly apps installed internally and some copied to SD (using manage apps)
Thanks for any help

What ROM are you using?
By the way, android needs to format a new sdcard so it can be used to store data on.

aurora ics. i want to get back to stock 2.3.5 cause can't stand the battery drain any more but i can't as bootloader doesn't recognize the sd card
So your sdcard is pretty much completely dead? Can your computer recognize your SD card? If your pc can recognize it but your phone can not then you should send your phone to service. Also try reformatting the SD card and installing Aurora ICS by doing a clean install through your internal SD card.
EDIT: You can install zips from internal SD card using TWRP v2.5.0.0 by forumber2.

Hey. Thanks for your reply. Yes computer recognizes the card just fine. I tried formating the card but don't work. There are times when card is being recognized but not for too long. And that happens to recovery mode. Can u give me steps or link to flash rom via internal sd?

Ask someone on the u8800 forum. I have a u8800pro sorry. I'm assuming that you have to move the zip into your internal memory, then install twrp 2.5.0.0 and choose install zip from internal memory.

yeah, the thing is that i cannot use my internal memory. when i try to download the rom from my phone it asks for sd and when i try to move rom from sd to internal sd it says error. i also tried to make my internal sd card "external sd card" but when i try to safe the system/etc file it says it can't be saved
Why don't you download the ROM to your computer and move it to your internal SD card with a USB cable?

I realised it is my new sd card. Its micro sd too but a little different in shape. So I just used a tape to get it well attached to the port. Now everything works good
