[Q] Display Timeout - Kindle Fire General

Anyone notice that the display timeout always reverts to one minute after the Fire sleeps (or if I turn the screen off).
Is this a Gingerbread problem (I saw this exact behavior on my Samsung Galaxy Player 5 with Android 2.35?
Is there a fix?

[Q] LED Torch / Tesla / Etc.

I had a very strange issue today when using Tesla LED or Torch on the Nexus S, On normal mode the LED seemed to be intermittent. After about 30 seconds it would disappear, and then reappear. Or disappear, and reappear DIMMED. Can anyone else try this and confirm?
Does the LED blinking off, then on happen when the screen turns off? On my Nexus one it used to do the same but it was later fixed in CM.
Works fine for me. I just used it for 45 seconds and nothing strange happened
Tesla works fine for me. Screen timed out and the LED turned off with the screen. Turned phone back on and the led turned on too.
Sent from my Nexus S
ah, the screen timeout would do it. Strange, on my nexus one this was never an issue. Thanks for the help guys!

Screen turns off while gaming since update to 4.4

I've updated my LG G2 to KitKat Stock and now I've found that when playing some apps, the screen dims and finally turns off as if the phone was idle. In Android 4.2, if you were playing a game, the screen would stay on as long as the game was loaded, but in 4.4 it seems the thing has changed.
I haven't touched the screen timeout and its in the default value (30 seconds). Any idea if I have to configure something extra by my side or is this an issue with 4.4?
As a workarround, I can set a higher screen timeout, but the idea is to keep the screen on while gaming instead of just increase the timeout.

[Q] Auto-dimming bug

Great phone but, it appears to be a bug with the screen dimming.
Regarding settings, I have everything turned off. Adapt display is off. Auto-brightness is off. Auto-adjust screen tone is off also.
I know Samsung displays dim if the phone overheats but my phone will auto-dim even if the phone is cool.
What I've found out is that the phone will only dim "permanently" when the screen is about to shut off.
For example: Set the screen shut off to 30 seconds and around the 28 second mark, the screen will dim for a couple of seconds before it shuts off. This is where the auto-dimming will "permanently" kick in. When the screen dims at the 28 second mark for a second, i'll touch the screen so it doesn't shut off. But by this time, the screen has dimmed already and won't go back to the regular brightness. I have to lock and unlock the phone for the dimmed screen to go away.
This scenario has happened every single time. Extremely annoying.
Anyone else experience this?

Yes, same here. It happens alot. Not every single time, but alot of the times.
Try this...
Hi
As the other user said it might be the software bug.
Please try this app. Disable your auto brightness and install this software https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vitocassisi.luxlite
This lite version is free. Try this. If everything works, you may consider the paid version to support the dev guy...

[Q] [BUG][LOLLIPOP] Screen "Flash" bug on screen timeout / manual lock

I'm having a couple issues with my nexus 4 after upgrading manually to Lollipop with the system image from Google Developers.
Sometimes, when the screen goes idle and turns off automatically or when it's turned off manually using the power button, the screen flashes on a higher brightness and shows the lockscreen before turning off. (I'm guessing the desired result is that the lockscreen should appear 'on screen' after the backlight is completely off).
What this causes is that when turning off the screen, the screen dims with the animation (fade to black and turn off), but before (and sometimes after) the animation is complete, it flashes for a few milliseconds displaying the lockscreen/background, even when locking the phone inside an app.
I could upload a video of the issue at a later time.
This bug didn't happen on any version/rom that went through my phone (many stock, many custom). Although I haven't tried installing another 5.0 ROM / AOSP.
The update also brought back a [hardware?] issue this Nexus 4 unit also has had since I got it. When dimming the screen using the brightness slider, sliding to the lowest setting turns off the backlight completely (effectively making the screen pitch black instead of dimming). This issue has been reported before and I was using Gravitybox to override the system lowest brightness level. Could these two issues be related? (Note that this issue didn't trigger this behavior before).
This issue has been reported by other users here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/help/zero-brightness-t2168071
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/help/problem-nexus-4-brightness-t2052857
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvgt17sKQsU < this shows the screen going pitch black at lowest brightness, it happens either from the widget, the slider, and the option in settings.
Any ideas on why it happens or how can it be corrected?. Do you also have this issue?.
Many thanks in advance.

Galaxy J7 2017 black screen

Hi everyone, my wife has this phone and she dropped it off the table. On first the screen started to dim like lowering the back light, then stripes have appeared on screen and after that it turned black. Screen turned on again, dimmed again and turn black again and thats it. Later when I tried to turn it on nothing happens not even a turning on sound. It only start to vibrate every 5-10 seconds for a quite time. I wanted to order a new display but now I'm not sure is it display broken or there is something wrong with system or firmware.
Any experience with this behaviour and any advice what could it be and how to fix it?
Cheers
