Aside from EI22 (which we now have officially,)
We've seen EK23 Sleep underneath us, and today, we now have EK30.
I don't know about you guys, but I don't mind these updates, if they keep going at it, what will you think will come of January 2012 ;D (wishful thinking here, don't get all crazy on me)
http://device.sprintpcs.com/Samsung/SPH-D700/EK30.rdf
Still reads 2.3.6, like EK23.
It's nothing like comparing source-code, but I just read up and compared both EK23 and EK30's UA Profiles, neither have a single 'change' this indicates to me what others such as Toadlife have been saying, kernel fixes. I can't comment, as I'm no Samsung Dev. We'll just have to wait and see.
I'm not sure if I want to stab Samsung or give them a hug.
Those builds are just patches to the official EI22 build.

I was only curious. I wanna know if its because no one is working on it because they're working on cm6 or is there really something blocking it.

Its garbage. Its a proof of concept. We had gingerbread booting on the epic like a day after its release, but not in a functional state. Why completely rebuild an OS when you can take what we have and make it as functional as possible. It would be a waste of dev talents to hand build a Frankenstein gingerbread when there is so much else to work on.

Spoke to Reston, VA today. They claim they are still working on the official GB update to the Epic with Samsung. They don't want to have any problems like they had with the Froyo update (according to them- there was a "lag" issue with the rotation on 2.2 OTA update). No date planned as of yet. Please stand by...
As long as its working right when it comes out. Thanks.

if only we could get em to release the source (with EVERYTHING needed) and let the community fix it for them, since we all know it would happen 10x faster than they are getting things done. Oh well, keep dreaming right?
Samsung should just give up and let the Epic community work on GB. Give them the source code and I bet they will have a fully functional build of GB within a month.

And gave headphones button options and other hardware button options for when playing music? Cuz that was the bestt feature to me lol I loved pausing and changing my music from my headphones instead of having to unlock my phone and change the song or pause it lol

It is often a minor setting adjustment. If set too quickly the sensor drains the battery, if set too low..noticeable lag. Don't sweat the small stuff.
