Spoke to Reston, VA today. They claim they are still working on the official GB update to the Epic with Samsung. They don't want to have any problems like they had with the Froyo update (according to them- there was a "lag" issue with the rotation on 2.2 OTA update). No date planned as of yet. Please stand by...
As long as its working right when it comes out. Thanks.

if only we could get em to release the source (with EVERYTHING needed) and let the community fix it for them, since we all know it would happen 10x faster than they are getting things done. Oh well, keep dreaming right?
Samsung should just give up and let the Epic community work on GB. Give them the source code and I bet they will have a fully functional build of GB within a month.

Its garbage. Its a proof of concept. We had gingerbread booting on the epic like a day after its release, but not in a functional state. Why completely rebuild an OS when you can take what we have and make it as functional as possible. It would be a waste of dev talents to hand build a Frankenstein gingerbread when there is so much else to work on.

So, its been 5 days since our official release of gingerbread but only two roms are using it. Hell I'm even running a Rom built off the shift port. Is it junk or something?? I figured by now, we would have a ton of devs using it. Not trying to raise Hell, just curious. Figured a Rom built off of it would be much more stable and faster than a port from another phone.

I'd guess that its because it is only sense 1.0. MikG and Synergy are both solid and stable, and they have sense 2.1. I think that for most people, going back to sense 1.0 isn't acceptable. Especially when the shift ports are as stable as they are. I'm sure someone will work on the OTA rom though.

Nope.
We're loving the recent push of Android 2.3 Gingerbread updates, and the latest group to get a sweet taste of the Gingerbread will be HTC Evo 4G owners.
Sprint announced this morning that it will begin rolling out an over-the-air update on June 6 to deliver the latest software release. As usual, the update will come in batches and users will receive a notification on their smartphones to let them know when the update is ready for download.
However, if you simply can't wait, there will be a manual download option starting June 3, where you can access the update by going to the Menu option on the Evo 4G and then selecting Settings > System updates > HTC software update. You can find more details and instructions on Sprint's Community site.

Will there eventually be any roms that get rid of the webtop stuff all together? I have played around with it a bit and ultimately found it to be worthless and haven't used it since.

I just want my Tegra 2 dual core phone to HANDLE LIVE WALLPAPERS.

Will be posible to port any variant of Honeycomb? Honey can handle the DualCore module, is AOSP and has HighRes. I think it will be better than any 2.x.x. Motorola Xoom has a very similar hardware so I don't think that it's imposble, but all you are the genius here

Multicore works perfectly fine in the current version of Android on the Atrix, as well as Gingerbread. Honeycomb will not be backported. Look forward to Ice Cream Sandwich instead, which is the "new hotness" I guess you could say.
If you want better multicore support, look to the app developers to add it into their apps. Android can run multicore but without support in the app, as I understand it, it won't use both cores. I am sure someone else with more knowledge about the underlying structure of Android could shed better light on the subject.

Again, the best way to find that all out would be to look for the thread under android development and find team ramens thread for that Rom. I can tell you that its based off of Deck's work with some different stuff thrown in there though. Pretty much all of the different ICS roms for the evo 4g have the same things working, and none of them have working cameras or 4g/wimax working as far as I know.

Lol... you right and guys really? the best answer is when they are done with it they will let you know of course unless you want to help out and get it done for them. Can we get an estimate on when some of you are going to start using the search feature or even google....lol
