Just flashed this on my X. Great ROM. Thanks for posting this up, finally swayed me to do it.
Just flashed this ROM the other day to my DX. Been trying cm7 nightlies lately but they had too many bugs for my liking. Loving this though.
MD5 checksum
I must have downloaded this rom from Team Gummy's website a dozen times but I do not get a valid MD5 checksum - it's different every time!
I have tried firefox and ie...
Is there a mirror out there somewhere?
Its easier to get through rom toolbox... you need the paid version, but it is well worth the money.. go into its rom manager and download it (prob should be on wifi) it checks the download for you so no more headaches then just boot into cwm wipe data, install zip, reboot and presto! liberty 3 2.0 first boot can take up to 10 mins so don't freak out

a friend recently asked about geting onto and updating CM6. i wrote this up and figued it may be helpful to others. nothing new, just a compilation of info.
CM6.1 is coming out soon. 10/17/10 is the official freeze on code. Android Open Source Project (AOSP) is a primary keyword for you when interacting on the forums. always make sure you are working with AOSP compatible stuff.
update the ROM to get the latest nightly feature or once some instability has been fixed.
update the kernel to get improve battery life and/or smoothness
update the GoogleAPPS because you wont use the ones on the marketplace...use these.
using AmonRA...(first time installing CM6 = wipe all...after that when updating just wipe the the two cache mentioned)
download all files to the root of your sdcard
reboot into recovery
make a nandroid
wipe cache and dalvik cache
flash ROM
flash gapps
flash kernel
(i don't think the flash order is actually important)
reboot
CM6 ROM

Kernels: Nov5 ... i suggest running stock kernel until the following are updated to the .35 kernel. There is a now a flashable .35 available from Flipz.
- zendroid ... Nov11..still in alpha but getting good reviews. using the .35 kernel

- snap .... i have not tried turbo. (note...turbo requires a full wipe to remove turbo)

you can start here to get a better overall feel. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=764521
this site looks a bit intimidating at first. basically, remember downloading that CM6 nightly to your computer? ok...go to that file. extract it like any zip file. find a particular .apk file. put a copy of that file in another location. go to the www, read the HowTo, go to the Kitchen and click next...then follow the yellow brick road. (make sure to make a nandroid before you start)
note... Snap and King are still using the older .32 kernel. while stable and good, the Framework changes to the latest versions of CM6 will cause somethings to not work (ie: bluetooth).
i would wait for JMX to update the snap kernel before getting too fired up. the next snap kernel will be exquisite I'm sure. the current stock kernel is pretty solid.
Rumor has it that Snap might be skipping .34 altogether and going straight to .35 since spiicytuna and toastcfh are both working on it.
In other words, jmxp69 might be skipping CM6.1's and going straight to CM6.2's kernel.
Do we flash all three of those things in one recovery 'session' or should I reboot after every flash? Trying CM6 for the first time coming from Fresh, a bit nervous. Got my nandroid backup just in case. Even if I wipe data, my nandroid will restore all of my apps, contacts, settings, etc right?
Yes, to the backup question.
As for flashing:
0) Wipe data+cache
1) Flash CM
2) Flash Gapps
3) Reboot into Android
(Optional: 4) Reboot into recovery and wipe dalvik+cache, flash custom kernel, reboot into Android)

if you are uncertain, then i suggest doing it one step at at time. with time and repetition you'll find which you can group together. i do all three in one session, however, if i get stuck in a boot loop or some other weirdness...i feel confident i can figure which of the three caused the issue and proceed from there. that has not always been the case.
yes. nandroid is a snapshot of your device setup/config. i have a Fresh ROM and my CM6 ROM in nandroid. just in case i ever need 4G (granted i haven't booted it up in almost 2mths.lol).
and yes, i'm looking forward to what JMX does with the Snap kernel when based on .35. a very very early .35 from Toast is floating around. i'll prolly flash it today to see how it is.
I have just put Leedroid 2.0 on my DHD and everything was fine but after looking round I decide last night that I would go to 2.3, so I dwnlded it and put it onto my SD card with the md5 file no problems. I then used clockwork mod to wipe my old Rom for a fresh start still no problem. When I went to install the new Rom it kept saying error which had alarm bells ringing in my ear I powered odd and removed the SD card and put the old 2.0 zip file on there and removed the error file and inserted it into the phone. This gave me a flashing Orange light and not able to power on so I removed the battery and waited for ten seconds and put it in and powered up the phone. Now I thought could just install the zip from there but the phone booted up (took ages for first boot but I waited) and followed the on-screen instructions for setting up the phone and then I used titanium backup to reinstall my apps.
The version of leedroid is the same but it boots up differently without the r2d2 sounds and different boot up screens
Not sure what I did seeing as I never installed from the zip file it has installed from somewhere.
I think I will do it again but just wanted any thoughts as to what actually happened with the install and what is the latest leedroid Rom because I can't seem to find it anywhere I look I keep getting different numbered versions.
Thanks

If you wiped, and can now boot, you MUST have flashed the zip otherwise you would have nothing to boot into, does phone info not tell you what version of leedroid your running?
Yeah it days Android 2.2.1 and leedroid 2.0.0 which is what I thought I had but it seems a little different

so what is the latest version of Leedroid and is there a link direct to it

Go to the Development thread, it's one of the top ones there called LeeDroid.
First post in that thread has download links.
latest version 2.3 is a beta. yuu should back to 2.2.2 again if there is so much problem!
dont forget,
2.2.2 is based on the current 2.2 version.
2.3.x is based on the leaked 2.3 version.
2.2.2 is great.. use it myself and love it.
havent tried 2.3.x but i would sugest reading the posts to see if there are any bugs ect.
i also had the issue that my boot screen looked stock again.
this happened after messing around with flashing the roms..
after i flashed it again the normal way.. it got back to the fancy boot screen.
dont forget to use clockwork 2.x.x.x not the clockwork 3.x.x.x
thanks for that I have done it again and it is now 2.2.2 and is grrrreat , watching closely the 2.3 thread and nearly ready to make the jump
So i was on liberty rom 2.0.1 and wanted to upgrade to the latest version in the nightlys. So i SBF back to version 2.3.320.MB810 and when i go to settings -> about phone -> systems update, it says i am already up to date. Can i get to gingerbread from this version or do i need to sbf to 2.3.340 to get to gingerbread.
I think you have to be on. 340, but I wouldn't encourage you to take the OTA to GB, download a prerooted .596 GB (team black hat...) then go from there.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
So i sbf to .340 and tried to install the tbh .596 GB update, with the part1 and part 2 files. When i boot into recovery and try to apply the zip it give a error code of 7 during validation of the current system. According to the instructions the only thing i am not doing exactly is i am using the droid x boot straper not the droid 2. would that cause this. dont see the need to spend 3 bucks on something i already have
Try turning off USB Debugging prior to booting into recovery. I think I read somewhere that Droid X bootstrapper works fine as long as you do that first.
Ok so i hope someone can help me out on this i finally got to a TBH rooted GB install.
My next step is to get back on liberty because i just cant stand motoblur, gingerblut is a bit better than what came with froyo but it still sucks. the battery life is terrible and i cant stand all the bloat ware and crappy widgets.
I am not sure what issue i am having 3g data worked fine in liberty GB0.4 but if i ever moved past that it would stop working. So i spent a day and sbf to .340 then installed the TBH rooted stock GB. I then downloaded the libertyGB0.8 did a data wipe and installed it. No 3g data. I really love liberty have donated to them buying the pro toolbox and such. I really want to get back to liberty but i guess if i have to find a different rom i will . Anyone have any idea as to why if i go past liberty 0.4 i loose 3g?
Ok so this issue has expanded past just liberty. I tried to flash apex 2.0 rc1 with the same issue no 3g data. Phone calls and all of that work but no 3g data. i would really like some help with this dont want to get stuck on moto ginger. Will more than likely just go buy a different phone if i cant get this to work
You just need to flash the updated kernal. I had the same problem, and fixed it. let me see if I can find the thread with the info. All u need to do is download the zip file, put on sd card and flash. and itll work just fine. Ill look it up and post back. The 591_kernel_update.zip is what you need
Here is the file:

I know a noob making a new thread is bad, but I feel like I need very specific advise here.
I've been running Cyanogenmod for years, it was unstable, no progress was being made, I could not use many of the phones functions and once 2.3 officially hit the Milestone X on Ntelos I decided, "Hey, I think I'll take the official rom and just root it".
So I SBF's back to an official SBF and for about a month I did everything I could to get an OTA update to roll out, it never came. I got antsy and searched the web for a 2.3 SBF for Ntelos and found one with the filename
1FF-p3a_shadow_cdma_shadow-user-2.3.5-4.5.1_57_MX2-34-111019-release-keys-signed-ntelos-US.sbf.zip
Which I found on MotoSBF
So it worked, I managed to root it and it's been horribly unstable, so about a month ago I decided that I'd take Cyanogenmod with all of it's faults over this. In reading over the threads here I found my DX Bootstrap would no longer work so I got DX2 BS, and installed Clockwork Mod Droid X 2nd init. Previously I had attempted DX BS which when flashing Cyanogenmod I'd get a boot error, I think I have made progress with the DX2 bootstrap as I no longer get a boot error I just get stuck with the M logo forever.
So would I be correct maybe to assume that it's Cyanogenmod that is now my issue? I want a custom rom that is at least gingerbread and pretty clean/fast, I don't know which ones work on an Ntelos Milestone X except MIUI (and I have to be honest, I HATE MIUI, the cluttered desktop feel of the iOS is one of the things I hate most about iOS in the first place).
I just need two bits of advice here, is the ROM I'm flashing most likely the issue, and if so, what ROM would you suggest for my particular phone.
And let me also check if my steps are correct.
I install DX2 Bootstrap Recovery
I install Rom Manager and my Premium, flash clockwork recovery DX 2nd Init.
I boot into DX2 Bootstrap Recovery, factory reset, install ROM from SD Card.
That sound like proper procedure being I'm on the latest OTA rooted?
*edit I should add that I have attempted to go back to previous versions, but that does not work out sadly*

your missing a few steps I believe that maybe is causing your instability issues there is a newer version of clockwork mod that is more suited for your phone download rom manager and flash for the droid x its 5.0.2.0 click reboot into recovery after flashing new recovery
1 wipe/data factory reset
2 wipe cache partition
3under advanced wipe dalvik
4under mounts and storage wipe/format system (for some roms read op instructions for flashing)
be very careful with 4 if you reboot on accident you will be left without a system on your phone!!!!
5 flash the rom and the gapps recommended for that specific rom
6 reboot system
all these apply to flashing in one form or another for a clean install omit #4 if you are fearful most roms these days format the system before installing anyway pooka`s cm7 charge while off seems to be very stable for me try at your own risk like any rom yacks cm7 is good to plus it allows updates through goo app in market but I noticed fc`s with adw launcher when switching to landscape mode but overall not bad
Gave it a go step by step, end result is still just a locked Motorola logo
If everything you have tried has failed it definitely to be the ROM. As a side note i think a root can be unstable because the os linux is very unstable. My pre update root to gingerbread was unstable. I even had linux on my PC and it was just as unstable.

In another thread I found someone mentioned trying to install CM with the bootloader updated, and they posted a ROM that was pooka-something..
worked like a charm..
Hi all, I just got my Nexus 4 & Im trying to install CM10.1 on it.
I rooted it using this guide: http://forums.androidcentral.com/nexus-4-rooting-roms-hacks/224861-guide-nexus-4-unlock-root.html
After that I did this exactly:
1. Downloaded CM10.1 & Gapps from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020859
2. Copied both to the /sdcard directory
(3. Downloaded ROM Manager when doing the CWM Method)
3. Downloaded TWRP Recovery 2.3.3.2 (Or CWM Recovery 6.0.2.3. CWM didnt work so I tried with TWRP)
4. Booted with TWRP (Or CWM) through fastboot: fastboot boot recovery.img
5. Wiped Cache + Dalvik Cache + Factory Reset
6. Loaded .zip file (CM10.1)
When it starts both TWRP & CWM say
Code:
set_perm: some changes failed
E: Error in /sdcard/cm-10.1-20121227-NIGHTLY-mako.zip
(Status 7)
A quick search told me that the "Status 7"error means that the ROM is not compatible with my phone, But I have a Nexus 4 so it should work?
Havent seen anybody else with this problem so Im posting it her, Hopefully you guys can help out?
PS: USB Debugging was on, I tried wiping ALL the data & Pushing the CM10.1 through ADB.
I installed CM10 on an LG p506 Thrive some weeks ago, That worked.
I bought the phone 2nd hand when it had CM10.1 installed already, Then I returned to stock using this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312
Everything worked but I decided to install CM10.1 again (Liked it more) but I keep getting that error. Reinstalling Stock JB always works fine.
Might be a bad download? Did you try downloading again and using that?

Got the same results.
Im thinking of jut wiping EVERYTHING with TWRP right now, Reinstalling Stock JB (For the 10th time) & Restarting the whole process, But I fear the same thing is going to happen...
Been trying this all day & Its always just giving the same result.

Did you verify it's MD5 Hash? Download HashTab (google it) and verify it with the website.
Bootloader is unlocked correct? (Verify it.... bootloader mode should say its unlocked, and "Google" splash on bottom should have a lock)
Try flashing JellyBro (found in Android Dev forums) same thing as CM10.1 but with cherry picks.
when you mean "load" you are flashing right? (install)

Looks like all the 6 downloads had a different MD5 hash... Decided to download again for no reason, Compared it with the site hash & Bam, Perfect match.
I dont know whether to be happy about it matching or be pissed about the 6 others that dont. Honestly Im just frustrated by now...
Im still in the TWRP menu right now, Can I simply push the CM10.1 through ADB to the sdcard & Then install it?
That way I dont have to restart EVERYTHING again...
EDIT: OH MY GOD! It worked!
I love you Mr.Sir, I love you so much! Im so relieved now, Ive been trying this for 6+ hours!
Im not used to downloading a file & Getting another so I didnt consider any checks, Seems like I will do so for every "sensitive" file like this now.
Thank you alot, YOURE AMAZING!

No you're amazing for working your butt off trying to resolve it and then when you weren't able to resolve it you finally posted. Unlike most users, they ask for help right away PLUS you didn't use the toolkit. Huge kudos to you sir. Plus you're a new member, welcome to XDA as well. Off to a great start
Very awkward that you redownloaded and all of a sudden MD5 hash matches lol, HashTab only checks hash. It's weird how your computer had different MD5 hashes, mines are always identical so I stop checking. At least the recovery didn't flash it, otherwise your phone would of been in a messy spot. Only things I check for MD5 are if im updating radio or bootloader.
What browser are you downloading it on? Try downloading from other browsers if it doesn't match after two redownloads. Did you download the same file or did you try the Jellybro alternative I suggested?
