Where are you from? do you know spanish?
Let try to help you with that. Does your phone has an app named superuser?

I am from North Carolina and no I do not speak Spanish yes it has superuser so it is unlocked and rooted I was wanting to know if it has a custom rom installed

If you go to settings>About Phone> Check the Android version. Stock is 2.2.1. Should also say under I belive under kernal version should have the word kobe and att. That help?

this is what I see under about phone
android version : 2.2.1
baseband version : EPU93_U_00.58.00
kernel version : 2.6.32.9-g018f4c1
[email protected]#1
build number : 3.4.2-125_KOB_FFW-4

Your stock. No custom rom has touched your phone. You may be rooted too which gives you superuser permissions but there is a major difference between rooted and unlocked. If you can put any-other sim card besides AT&T and still be allowed to boot up the phone without it saying "Network Locked" and asking for a password then it is unlocked. Does that answer your question and any future one too?

New SGS2 and need advice on which ROM to flash (or better way to uninstall)

Hi all,
I just traded a SGS for an Iphone4 for an SGS2. I used to have my SGS rooted and custom ROM because it was sort of necessary for that phone. I would think that it is not neccessary for the SGS2, but... I'm in China and the phone I bought has QQ Security, QQ phonebook, and 360 Security and a bunch of other junk on here as a system program. I hate Tencent. I hate everything about Tencent. I will not trust this software on my new awesome phone.
I tried to uninstall this garbage with Titanium, and it said it uninstalled, but then it was still there. So I guess I need to flash a new clean ROM. Which is not what I want to do, but so be it.
My baseband and stats are as follows:
Android 2.3.3
Baseband I9100XXKE7
Kernel Version [email protected] #2
QUESTION 1: What ROM is close to stock, has a decent set of the new Samsung programs?
QUESTION 2: I would prefer not to use ODIN, as my USB system / drivers on my home computer is messed up and my SGS and SGS2 cannot connect. Can I do a CWM flash of a ROM (used to be able to do this with most ROMs on SGS if I was upgrading to a similar ROM)? If so, which one is compatible with what I have?
Thanks.
1. If you want to stay close to Stock... then go ahead and flash a Stock Firmware..for example KI4 (2.3.4) or KI3 (2.3.5)
2. Nope you have to use Odin to flash at least a custom Kernel to get Clockwork.. only with Clockwork you can flash other Customs Roms but not stock Roms
You probably have Chinese firmware, which means you cannot flash normal firmware on there, it won't accept it, it is somehow protected.
Dial *#1234# in the dialer and post what you see there.
There is a modified build somewhere here on xda, to which I cannot find the link now. You can probably find it, since you are not the first one with Chinese firmware who wants to get rid of it
pda:i9100zske7
phone: i9100zskf4
csc: i9100zskf4
BTW it is rooted and there is a recovery mod on it now.

[Q] Root and update an unlocked HTC MyTouch

I have a brand new mytouch that is unlocked and I would like to root it in order to update to a newer version of Android. It was recommended to me that I root and put the Cyanogen mod to update it. And to also install ROM Manager . Does this sound logical? If so, is that the correct order?
Also, any idea how I can research to find out what versions of Android my hardware can handle? Obviously, I would like to have the newest version possible.
Thanks!

3. Flash rom
4. ........?
5. Profit!!
I ran ezterrys ezgingerbread rom (android 2.3.7) on my mytouch and it ran well.

[Q] Rooting Defy+ DHT-25

Hello everyone,
I am a new member here and I know asking questions is annoying when there're someone who ave already asked it before, so I have searched , looking around at different areas, I have gain some knowage about SBF and Roms and so on, and now I have faced a problems :
As far as I know there are Roms and Root software for version 2.3.6 , but they are for DHT - 22/23 , I have spend two days but still couldn't found any post that's directly saying about how to Root the version of my Defy+ :
2.3.6_DFHKT_U_4.5.2-109_DHT-25 version,
So I am asking here if there are one have already posted a way to Root this version, or it just can not be rooted
Have you tried using SuperOneClickRoot? I don't really know ALL the DEFY+ ROMs, but all that can be rooted - can be rooted with SuperOneClickRoot. If it fails, then I guess you'll have to wait a while for the developers to get there :-/

Yea, I know there's SuperOnsClickRoot that can be use,
but I have read the post and the users said that it seems didnt work on the newer version of the Defy+ ( that's my DHT-25) ,
but also I find that's Rom of DHT-25 version ,
and I think I should Root my defy+, so I can Flash my Defy+ , right ?
Those DHT-25 version Roms are all for the older version to upgrade to DHT-25, but not for Rooting DHT-25 itself, so I am a bit confuse ,arrrr,
But I will try to test it tomorrow, let you know if it will works or not ! Thx anyway
: (
I have tried both the UnLock Root & SuperOneClick v.2.3.3 , but still, they are Fail to root my Defy+ , I have searched a lot in XDA and it seems no one hae talkabout Rooting the newer version SBF of DEFY + ( 4.5.2-109_DHT-25 ) , any suggestions : ( ?
There is no way to root the latest Android 2.3.6 sbfs, yet.

So finally a clear answer for me , and I can see there's a "yet" at the end . .. is there's some clues that in a short period it could happen ?
Any update?
Ok,
Now pardon my lack of experience, I rooted another phone a long time ago and it was painless. Things have changed...
I got a brand new Defy+ from a reputable online retailer today and I was aiming to have it all done and installed with CM9 by tomorrow. Good luck with that says Murphy's law. I have this particular version of 2.3.6 that is apparently unrootable by the easy methods.
Details:
System Verion: 45.1.25.ME525+.Retail.en.05
Model: ME525+
Android Version: 2.3.6
Baseband Version: EPU93_U_00.60.02
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9-g6977577
Build Number: 4.5.2-109_DHT-25
Scoured the net, scoured xda devs, I can find mentions, but nothing about how to get around this. Every mention is about if you have an unlocked bootloader already etc. I'm not at that point yet.
DooMLoRD's Easy Rooting Toolkit v4 doesn't work, neither does SuperOneClickv2.3.3 (or 2.3.1 as I read and tried).
I'm at this point where I want to play with flashing SBFs, except I know if I get it wrong (from what I read), I'll have a bit of an issue (BL numbers and such).
So....an appeal to the other Defy+ tinkerers out there, anything you can suggest? Or, which SBF can I flash that will let me get to a version where I can root and move to some other wonderful new ROM?
Thanks,
Overflow255
Ok,
So, I said stuff it, got the 5.7 version of RSDLite and tried to downgrade to the DHT-22-23 SBF from the sbf.droid-developers defy+ repository.
That was not sucessful - all I got were black screens, but I can confirm that you can still flash again.
So I'm going to basically try a number of other ROMs until one works. I'll keep everyone posted, since I seem to be a bit of a trailblazer with this one.
Awesome.
Follow these lads: "DFP-188, DFP-231, DFP-2311 BL7 Finally Rooted" (I still can't post links...)
Basically, you flash one particular rom, wipe, then flash a rooted version of the same rom.
So I now have a rooted CEE rom. Time to bust out!

need some assistance with i337m and getting back to stock.

I have read a fair amount here, but I'm not getting entirely relevant info and am hoping for some help.
I THINK I have finally found the place for stock roms. sammobile.com???
Now a bit of background.
I bought this phone used a few days ago. When I had a look, it is already rooted, which I'm fine with.
It is running 4.4.2. I'd like to upgrade to 5.0.x. Gotta friend with the same model. That's what he recommends.
I can live with 4.4.2 if I have to, meaning if I can't upgrade.
Since this is new (to me) I can live with losing all user data. Only thing is my wifi password is long and random and a pain to type in, but that is about all I'll suffer.
I had removed some apps using debloater, mostly just to see, but have since restored them. Then tried to update, got the message, which essentially says "you've got a custom rom. No updates for you".
I know the phone is unlocked, but not sure if factory or by unlock code. Does it matter, and if so, how can I tell?
I know the previous owner had a fido sim, and I noticed some bell apps on here. If I've read correctly, that doesn't guarantee this was originally a bell phone. Is there any way I can tell? Right now I have no sim. I can shove in an old speakout sim that is deactivated.
So anyway
Model number SGH-I337M
Android Version 4.4.2
Baseband version I337MVLUFNI2

I've downloaded ODIN, but not a ROM yet, since I'm not positive who's I should use.
Also, I had gone thru the guide to enable AWS. That seems to work, as it would take the sim at the wind kiosk. I'd like to keep that, but if I have to redo it, that is fine.
I trust it is not a good idea to upgrade to a "stock" 5.0.x by just flashing roms?
Thx for any help.
ok, another question. I just registered at sammobile, but they don't seem to have roms for the S4??? Are they hidden somewhere? Where can I get stock roms, if not there? Thx
Nevermind. You have to type in the device name. It just isn't on the pulldown list.
Another question you might find stupid.
If I update to (for example) the Bell Roms, do I have to have a valid Bell sim in order to do an update?
Well maybe 2 stupid questions.
I still have to use triangle away for flashing back to 4.4.2 don't I? I read somewhere that they (meaning Samsung) expected the count to be > 0 at some point but I don't remember at what version, and I can't seem to find it again.
So what do you guys do? Flash it a couple of times to get the count right?
If the phone is sim unlocked, it should remain permanently unlocked regardless of whether you flash custom or stock ROMs.
The easiest way to get to stock LP would be to flash the stock LP rom via Odin from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SGH-I337M/
Before the first boot with the LP ROM, the phon should be factoru reset via stock recovery.
Doesn't really matter whether you flash Bell, Rogers, or Telus. The hardware used by all 3 carriers is the same. The only difference would be in the apps that are installed with each stock ROM.

I think I have reflashed properly. I'm downloading the update (probably to 5.0.1??) via phone now, but I noticed after I started that I have the warning triangle. So maybe the update will not install when it is done. I'll know in a couple of hours I guess.
So I should have run triangle away BEFORE the reflash? Or are you no longer supposed to run that? Or is there some android version after which you are no longer supposed to use it?
Thx
Well, phone seems to have updated to 5.0.1, which is what I wanted. With the update, the warning triangle is gone also.
So thanks again for your help. I guess I'll be on to other things here.

Stock android rom?

Hi,
I'm looking for a rom that is clean android such as it doesn't have no bloatware or any pre installed crap with it, similar to how the nexus 6p stock rom is.
Forgive me for my n00by questions lol, but I was also wandering how to completely debrand my S5 as it has all the 02 stuff on it, could I just use a different baseband version stock firmware that isn't related to a network? (If that makes sense) or do I need to stick to the same baseband version of my phone.
Thanks
S5 SM-900F
Android version - 5.0
Baseband version - G900FXXU1BOK5
You have ArrowAOSP rom for a stock rom, aosp features, lollipop 5.1.1 version. No bloatware or pre installed crap, the only pre installed apps will be the one from the gapps package.
I can't help you with the other question, someone else might wanna help you.
Can you link me to a thread or something so I can have a look. I've currently rooted my phone using cf auto root, will I need to use the chain fire method in order for this custom rom to work?
Another option would be the 'btu' firmware that comes pre-installed on Carphone Warehouse devices.....it's a standard stock rom but without the carrier bloat......Just flash, root and TiBu the hell out of it.......
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
I use this debloat script for my BTU ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...pt-galaxy-cleaner-lollipop-debloater-t3156010
So just to be clear, I can flash any baseband version, as long as it relates to my device?
