I just wanted to thank people here at xda for putting a lot of hours on making custom roms. I have tried many of them and I have to say they made my phone run a lot smoother. It is exciting to visit here find out a new rom is available to try.

Unfortunaly bro, gratitude is not appreciated here. However im sure the Devs are grateful for your "thank you". Its those who were not taught respect and want custom roms built only for them who will flame you.

Hey guys I'm new here and upon some exploring ivseem to find a lot of people in my shoes with this question in mind....
How does one get access to posting to the dev forums on roms? So let's clear the way and let's see what come out of it. I'm surevill lure in the other noobs too and hopefully I can help with this

I think its just to get people to read a bit first rather than blasting in with their first post being "How do I do this?" which has most likely already been addressed in the thread.

Just go into the xda app settings and select none or custom if you want to put something else to replace it. Press the menu button to access the settings menu.

You mean we can just swap out a different camera app and make ICS camera work!?!? And all this time we have been trying to make the stock one work has been wasted?? Genius!!

No. The ROM and the ICS image are unable to get the MyTouch 4G camera to actually load. An app is basically just a theme for the main camera. It calls up the same camera and therefore no app will run.
Am I right everyone? If I'm just confusing things I'll delete this post.

Sort of. Third-party camera apps are completely separate from the ROM's built-in app, but they do use the same libraries and drivers to interact with the camera's hardware.

2) i'm not being a douche. i'm really just being pissed off. and it's not all this guy's fault. it's mostly the post that this asshole decided to post that ticked me off...
basically what these guys are saying is that there is no one working on a camera solution, when clearly there are. Feb isn't the ONLY one around here guys... (though he may be the best)
3) so whatever happened to search before posting hm? or is that not a rule anymore... because if the OP had searched around just a bit, he would've found the answer
