The Overcome website has had a "Database Error" for a couple of days now. Anyone know whats up with it? The forums don't seem very active either. Kind of need the guide to flash my Galaxy Tab.
Oh whoops was supposed to put this in the Q&A forum.. I'll move the question about the flashing to there.

Sorry for the newbie question. I have tried the new update for my Vibrant at least 4 times. It connects through Kies mini and downloads the binary files, but when it switches over to the actual update, I get a message that says the phone could not be upgraded. It doesn't brick the phone when I pull the battery, and everything seems like it was before. Any suggestions for the newbie?

The giant thread at the top of the forum that includes "JI6 Instructions"
Control-F // EASY WAY TO GET THE JI6 UPDATE
“Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.”
I hate to be so naive, but where is this odin.exe thing? Is it in the phone or a command line that I can not see?
Odin is a software utility that you can download from the Stickied Vibrant Bible post in the developers forum. Oh, and questions should generally be posted in the Q&A section.
Dev section here
Thanks for the help guys. Last question (I hope), do you need to be rooted to use Odin.exe?
No root required.
Hi all
I almost bricked my phone by voodooing and rootting at incorrect orders. With the help of this forum, I finally was able to go back to stock D101. With one catch: I dont have cell signal.
;m guessing somewhere along the line I wrecked my modem.bin, so I'm asking if there's any way to fix it. I tried the modem with this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=790085
but it always is unable to complete the installation (using cwm).
Is there any way I can get modem back? Is there any ROM that contains a working modem that I can use? I'd be happy to try anything that could give me a working modem now.
Thanks all.
This does not belong in the development section. In the future, please post your questions in the General forum. Thanks.
That being said, someone may come along to tell you whether or not you bricked your radio.

This should go into General subforum. As far as how you can fix it, well, we do not have a modem.bin to flash to the fascinate.

Questions should be in q&a forum... Try the development forum for how tos. Modding phone can be difficult. Atrix most probably most difficult of any device I've used b4. If u don't understand how to do stuff in noob post might be a good idea to stay with stock rom. ;-)
I believe loading a rom like CM7 would update your phone to the latest version. This is what happened when I loaded it onto mine. However, I'm not sure about UK phones.
My friend asked me to root his samsung galaxy for him. He doesn't have a sim card in it and it is running 2.2 froyo. I have tons on experience rooting and ROMing my Droid x2 from Verizon and my Acer tablet but I don't know where to begin on this phone. I read the sticky and I've been researching for the past week and have still yet to even get the correct drivers. My friend needs it tommorow, and he already gave me some money to do it for him. If any one, any one at all could link me to the drivers for the phone, and how to root it (prefferebly not through adb) or if you can do it without hooking it up to the computer, I would be eternally greatful! All I need to do is get the phone rooted and get a recovery on there. Somebody please help! Thanks guys!!!

Galaxy s!!! When it boots up it says world phone too, if that makes a difference
There's a bunch of different galaxy s phones. Start by making sure you know which one it is and just reading all the stickies threads. I don't have any experience with galaxy s phones though so I might not be much help but ill do what I can.

Dude,
Get an Gingerbread Stock version of Gingerbread (see www.sammobile.com) I recommend I9000_JVZ and download-it. then flash-it. You cand find step-by step how on this forum.
After you flash it you can flash wwith odin the proper version fot CF-Root from chain fire (it should be with the same extension _JVZ or _JVT, because it is working just fine).
If you do not fing them send me your mail and I wil upload them for you. All of them.
Can you email me? Looking for some more personalized help and I need yo get this done today. [email protected]

I am trying to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1521276 <-- that rom on my fascinate and i have a question what is cwm fixed for cm7? and how do i flash it?
refer to section 4 of my guide here in the general section...you cant miss it!
check the guide as stated if you cant get it after that I wouldnt even mess around with it.
I would read the guide, and then try to read as much from the threads as you can so you can get an idea of the terminology, and what to do if you brick your phone.
