How to remove applications from TMN operator - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

I folow this instructions to remove applications from TMN operator:
1. Turn off the phone
2. Connect it as follows: volume up, volume - and pressed power until a pink screen
3. Connect the USB cable to the computer and the phone
4. Open the folder that appears, enter / image / cust_data / TMN / EN / APP
5. Getting from there to the apps that do not want
6. Remove USB cable, then remove the battery.
7. It is done.
Follow the steps, even deleted the folder PT.
When I start the phone TMN applications are still on the phone.
I have to go some place more to remove them?
thank you

Install a new ROM. Is the better.
Check the development section. Basically first you have to install a new recovery (5.0.2.6) and then choose a ROM, Oxygen, CM or MIUI.
Your phone will become more stable, faster and updated.

What youresocool said. Other way is to root and use titanium backup to remove them.

I knew this before, but great tutorial. This works for B138 rom too (Estonian Elisa), which has some apps you don't propably want. The directory in B138 is /image/cust_data/elisa/ee/app

Hi
I'm don't agree. You must delete the /cust/ on /cust_backup/image/cust/ because is from here that this data are charged on bootloader (pink screen) at starting or rebooting. And when you make a Rom backup is also backed this "image" whit kernel + recovery + cust. At next Rom restore the cust return to bootloader.
I never delete something on the bootloader (pink screen), always on /cust_backup...
The better way is Titanium Backup but Freeze!, not uninstall. In this case and if necessary you make Defrost! and the app return installed.

The new ROM only install the new kernel on /cust_backup/image/boot.img . This is the kernel. At restarting the /image/ (whit new kernel) is charged on bootloader. The install don't touch on /cust/
PS: For install a new recovery you must replace the recovery.img on /cust_backup/image/recovery.img

Hi,
please have a look at these URL:

DISCONTINUED - [ROM][25-feb-11][v1.3] Dexter's Froyo 2.2.1 for XT720

so here is the new edition with uk kernel, basically pretty much the same as before with correct sensor drivers now.
Changelog v1.3 (Android v2.2.1 edition) Download nandroid image here or mirror
- xavwanted's libOMX and MediaGallery.apk which seems to fix HD recording and playback
- Riley600's interactive governor fix
- callwaiting fix
- kousik's mount-o typo fix
- Mioze7Ae move /oc to /system/oc
- bootanim by helmi666
- Email.apk replacement
Changelog v1.2b (Android v2.2.1 edition) Download patch here
- fixes problems with callwaiting functionality.
Changelog v1.2a (Android v2.2.1 edition) Download nandroid image here
- 720P recording fix
- re-added old MediaGallery as Camera app requires it.
- there can be possible hickups with mediascanning (so you know)If you do see many FC's its a symptom of not having done factory reset, so this should indicate whether you need to do it or not.
Changelog v1.2 (Android v2.2.1 edition) Download nandroid image here
- fixed mediascanner issue
- removed old mediagallery (not supported) , now only Gallery3D available.
- removed VoiceCommands app, cpu intensive and taking much storage.
Note, due to the bug in mediascanner and decoding and on top ext2sd support, quadrant benchmarks drastically drops when ext2 is enabled, if the sdcard is not a class6 or higher.. but media decoding bug alone caused incorrect reportings, so dont be surprised when you test now.
Its a full nandroid for new and existing users. if you're using 1.1+ you do not need to WIPE settings, just restore nandroid and reboot, signatures will be recalculated and bootup takes maybe little more, but it works fine.
Patch update Changelog v1.1b (Android v2.2.1 edition) Download patch here
- HDMI added to settings menu, let me know how it works (not tested)
- different proximity sensor module (tested with z-devicetester seems better)
- facebook fix still included.
- Support for loading overclock module at startup.
- apps2ext partition support , will mount at startup if a 2nd partition is found.
its not advanced, so you need ext2/ext3 partition for now.
NOTE: Patches goes into /OpenRecovery/updates and is applied in openrecovery menu "apply update".
Changelog v1.1a (Android v2.2.1 edition) Download nandroid v1.1a link
- Based on 2.2.1 milestone framework leak
- Sync facebook is working
- Lockscreen is new (Blur like)
- see this link for framework theme's.
Changelog v1.1 (Android v2.2 edition) Download v1.1 link
- fixed: OCR camera function currently FC (crash) (Mobireader.apk added)
- fixed: Contacts apk will be replaced in next update.
- fixed: HDMI through media player
- fixed: /mnt/sdcard mount issue
If you want stock korean 2.2 with just english language and working sensors, download this nandroid dump, if you will probably need the 1.1 including recovery.apk to install this the easy way.
but else follow instructions in my other releases, and put nandroid backup into the /nandroid/openrecovery folder and restore using OpenRecovery.
See this post, if you wish to restore a stock rom, or to enable apps2sd filesystem on sdcard
Install instructions:
Make sure sdcard is visible, when you get to step 6 of instructions, or it all fails, same with restore..
A: users with stock 2.1 can proceed to step 1 in instructions.
B: users with stock SBF korean 2.2 rom , need to flash stock 2.1 and goto step 1
C: Users with 1.1+ of rom with OpenRecovery , can skip WIPE and factory reset, and a restore of the new nandroid backup included in the download link, and goto step 8 (and skip step 9 for factory reset)
root it (SuperOneClick ) - included with zip
install OpenRecovery , use included apk.
reboot phone once
copy the folder "nandroid" to root directory of your sdcard.
Make sure sdcard is not attached to pc using "mass storage share" to pc.
Run OpenRecovery app and "install Recovery".
Press Boot recovery
restore the backup "stock22xxxx"
wipe / factory reset in OpenRecovery
reboot
Issues reported by users in v1.2a:
- Radio FM volume cannot change.
- MediaGallery does not do videoplayback
Issues reported by users in v1.0:
- Radio FM volume cannot change.
- Sync account option for facebook / Twitter is not added in settings when account is configured.
- Camera language not going to change (its korean app, so not support for other langs)
- LEDS do work, its sensors that makes them go off/on (no need to report this anymore)
STATEMENT:
Please don't keep asking the following question directed to me, public or via PM;
- Can you include language XXXXXXXX .
Answer: NO
- Can you teach me how to do custom roms
Answer: NO
- will you include RTL for hebrew
Answer: NO
- will you make other roms like cyanogen, htc etc..
Answer: NO
for new users unable to write in public forums, i cannot answer all your PM's personally, as that gets to be a quite a few per day and many monthly...i am not a support central for xt720 community..i simply don't have that kind of time available.

if i press camera button here (1-2 sec) it opens?
media button (the small one becide the cam button?) ? yes i see its not doing any action
from what i read now, the known accelerator driver issue + led, hdmi is 2 majors, im not sure about other issues becides the extra languages which for some seem to cause issue..
the way the launcher works is a matter of taste (seeing like 20+ android devices)
- if you're coming from stock 2.1 there is differences and more functions, but if you tweaked alot maybe less features are here, like dalvik.
- rotation is a problem if you plan alot of games with acc. functionality..
- I personally dont experience problems, except the buttons which personally i would love to fix now..
I think overall there is a positive feel about the first working release.

In the facebook app if you tap on "Facebook" at the top you go to the page to navigate to news feeds, friends, etc. If you hit your options button there there is a settings screen that includes preferences for how contacts are sync'd.

Yes i saw those settings, unfortunately they have no effect or bearing on the accounts.
I believe this is a bug, yet no one has confirmed or denied being able to reproduce it.

I think smurfb deserve a little thanks, for pushing the request/idea just to try loading the old uk kernel once more, so i did and this time i fixed the problems with loading the old kernel and lib/bin required, its not much and most (2.2) korean state is kept intact..
ill do some testing after the new nandroid backup and start uploading v1.0

[ROM Release] Customized B928 (ICS Baseband - DSP Manager) By Moihack

Hello there guys!
Please Read:
From next week, I won't have much free time, so this is something like a goodbye thread to xda community. This is maybe one of the last mods(if not the last I upload). Of course I will visit the forums every once in a while but probably I won't have much free time available to mod ROMS. Anyway. Let's see the new ROM features
Special Notes - Please Read:
This ROM is based on Final Full B928 ICS Baseband as uploaded by Broxnitas here(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1793014) on xda and is using Official ICS Baseband(404029). Make perfectly sure that you have a working CWM backup, or that you have a copy of your GB amss.mbn file. Alternatively download this flashable CWM .zip that returns your phone back to GB Baseband from here(https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_kPUrNkk3T0QmRkTld5SFh5Vm8/edit?pli=1). If you use any GB based ROM while on ICS Baseband you won't have network access so keep that in mind. Also this ROM is as small as 170mb so you don't need to repartition your system by flashing step1 from official upgrade. Finally System Language is English. Change it like usual from settings(I disabled the annoying to me feature that adapts network's language).
Changes:
1) Removed lots of apps. As usual with my release, you only get a basic system. Install every app you want from PlayStore. This time Sync is perfectly working(tested it personally). Stock Browser is also there.
2) Added Volume Rocker Wake & Search Button Locks Screen
3) Updated hosts file. No more ads in free apps!
4) Added DSP Manager and Trebuchet Launcher (Official CM9 Apps)
5) Removed almost all media files (in order to save space) and disabled camera sounds.
6) Changed default CPU Governor to userspace. System seems more smooth in my opinion.
7) Added init.d (added battery and Wi-Fi network tweaks)
8) Using kamatozko boot.img for better multitasking & unlocked fps by default
9) Zipalign
10) Added Battery Percentage in status bar
11) Updated media_profiles.xml for better HD video recording quality
12) Slightly Jelly Bean themed (Added Default JB Wallpaper + Galaxy Nexus JB Boot Animation). Optionally you can also install Holo Locker from Play Store if you want a JB lockscreen.
Installation Instructions:
1) Copy ROM .zip file to your sd card
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe data/factory reset
4) Advanced->Wipe Dalvik Cache
5) Install .zip from sd card
Reboot & Enjoy!
Note:
You may not need to do Wipe data/factory reset while in recovery in an attempt to keep your apps and not having to reinstall them. However, if ROM does not boot after installation complete, then this is probably the cause.
First Boot is gonna take a while. You'll even get bored But as long as you see the soft buttons light up, then everything went fine.
Download:
http://www.mediafire.com/?zreoo9noqqcrqpb
3G & data usage fix:
Only do the following if you want 3g & data plan internet usage.
Open /system/build.prop with a root explorer
change this line(number 100) from: ro.use_data_netmgrd=false to ro.use_data_netmgrd=true
I've changed this value when I was testing the ROM in order not to waste any money, since the phone gets the time from network and this costs me 1 euro!!!
Sorry for the inconvenience!
Hope you enjoy now!
Thanks To:
Giris for porting newest ics baseband to gb baseband
Broxnitas for the same reason + the actual ROM in which this mod is based on + GB amss.mbn flashable CWM .zip
eng.stk for his CM9 DSP Manager port
matt5eo for his Trebuchet Launcher mirror
kamatozko for modified boot.img
sr21 for Galaxy Nexus JB boot animation
Happy Flashing

3G signal works fine in my phone.
Maybe you didn't change mobile network settings, or you have low 3g signal in the region you live.
You can more easily control your mobile network's type by doing this:
*#*#4636#*#*
>Phone Information
>Set Preferred Network Type
if you see in network type saying HSPA than your are on 3G. If it says GPRS you are on 2G.
Choose WCDMA only if you only want 3g network.
For more information on networks, read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966172
Anyway,I just want to say that the ROM can use 3G. The problem is with your settings

....for me same problem...
I really don't know what is the cause of this.
Have you however see your network type in *#*#4636#*#* menu?
If it's HSPA it's 3g. Here it works ok. Maybe it also works ok for you also, but because framework-res.apk and systemui.apk are modded for battery percentage, maybe 3g icon in statubar somehow "broke".

I check network and it's UMTS but data network doesn't work... I'm at home, my son has the same operator and his phone has HSPA and data network are ok... may be this issue is because i didn't make wipe data/factory reset to not reinstall my apps (my previous rom is yours B927)... tomorrow i'll try to reinstall your ROM but first performing all wipe (data, factory reset, cache and cahce dalvik) and system format...
however thanks for your fantastic job (now i use your rom B927, perfect for me)

I have downloaded the ROM from original site and flashed as per your recommendations in STALLION thread. It's great. I have some queries.
1. There were five patches whereas you have given seven.
2. How do you lock the screen? Is it only to be locked with POWER button. I use third party screen lock app tied up with long press search button which is not working here as this function is tagged with camera. Any alternative for screen lock?

1. Sorry, i made a mistake, there are only 6 of them, not 7. I dont know why u have only 5, and it doesnt realy matter.
2. I dont use any buttons to lock, screen timeout locks itself, or i use power button, but if u want, u can use search button, by doing this:
System Settings>System>Button>MI button>Trigger Toggle>Lock

I installed this rom yesterday from the chinese sources, you don't need all the 6 patches. There are 5 update patches and the 6th is the one you need, this is the final patch that includes ALL the other ones (20130101_U8800Pro-MIUI2.3.7 by FCS fix 20130104-12_update.zip)
to OP:There are 4 other files that came with the rom and i don't see them in the post. They are Sakura's Atmel screen fix, geno's gapps, flash player for this rom and the new miui compass that was not included in the original rom.If you don't have them tell me to upload them
If you want to put power button to search button go with root explorer to system/usr/keylayout open qwerty.kl with text editor, find key 217 and change it from ''CAMERA'' to ''POWER' and in the same line from ''WAKE DROPPED'' to ''WAKE'' .Save and reboot. Now pressing the search button closes the screen, long pressing it brings up the power menu.
People this is the best MIUI so far and the latest one with final release date 14/1/2013,Everything works. This is a special rom started by Geno, then Hay modded it,then Ry09iu modded it farther and lastly Sakura combined the mods of all of them together with his own and released this amazing rom.you got to try it

No worries about ram unless you have 200apps installed like all roms
installation:
be sure you are on official gingerbread or gb based custom rom.
boot into recovery,reboot recovery
wipe data/factory
wipe cache
wipe dalvik
wipe battery stats
format system
reboot into recovery
Do the same wipes again for a second time
install the rom
reboot normally
reboot into recovery and install ''20130101_U8800Pro-MIUI2.3.7 by FCS fix 20130104-12_update.zip''
reboot normally
reboot into recovery and install atmel fix zip (if you are on atmel)
reboot normally
reboot into recovery and install geno's gapps
reboot normally play a bit with the new rom
reboot normally again
THIS IS THE BEST WAY
You also need to replace some chinese system apps with the english ones,i will upload them later with instructions
and also replace some files like hosts, gps etc.i will upload them too.
please OP add these to the first post because there will be confusion!

To korekore.
Great post. Very supportive.
I agree to you with first point. Five patches replaced by one single patch and I am using the same.
I will surely try your method OF search key lock /power button. I will surely try that.
Lately there are four more files of which I am using the gapps lite. My touch screen send to be working ok and I have not flashed the atmel kernel mod. BTW how to know whether I have a ATMEL or SYNAPTICS hardware?
Lastly waiting for Your English version apks.
Great ROM. Dream of similar JB ROM.
Thank you.

On your phone dialer you dial *#*#2846579#*#*
A menu will appear, then you go to project menu->upgrade->touchscreen firmware upgrade->touch screen version query and it will show you if it is ATMEL or SYNAPTICS.
Be aware however that this menu does not appear on all custom roms. For example in CM7 if you try it, nothing will happen.
For what is this FIX?
For me the 4 button does not lighting

That fix improves speed, stability, adds V6 SuperCharger script, improves power saving, etc.
No button backligt is not a bug, but you can "fix" it by doing this:
Download any root exploring app, go to sys>class>leds>button-backlight> edit it like text, and write 255>save it

Yes,I tried it too on MIUI but like CM7 it doesnt work in these roms. It works on official/stock rom 100%, i checked it on my official rom before installing this MIUI.
If you have a recovery backup of the stock/official rom you can restore the official rom and try it there, it will work there 100%.
Which kernel to b flashed for this Rom?

[TOOL][29/5]Advanced X2 Tool v1.41 (Root, Recovery, Google Play, (De)odex, Facebook)

Advanced Nokia X2 tool is yet another toolkit for:
flashing PhilZ Touch custom recovery
flashing CWM and TWRP recoveries (from v1.30)
flashing any recovery via DragNDrop feature (from v1.40)
flashing stock recovery (from v1.10)
deodexing system (from v1.10)
odexing system (from v1.30)
rooting, installing SuperSu and SU binaries
un-root (from v1.30)
installing minimal gapps for running Google Play Store
installing minimal gapps for running Google Play Store on data (from v1.40)
removing gapps (from v1.20)
fixing Facebook and Messenger login issues on CM11 (from v1.40)
installing adb, fastboot and mtp drivers
wiping data and dalvik cache (from v1.20)
viewing live logcat (from v1.30)
brick-trap remover - packageverifier.apk
Nokia's DRM spyware remover - autosms.apk
Probably you already know; other toolkit lacks with installing Google Play Store. So you need to deodex your system via a flashable zip, remove brick-trap manually, install luckypatcher and patch Google Play Store and reflash another gapps zip via recovery. And this process corrupts Nokia's default search app.
With my tool, you dont need these steps. You can only select yes or no and enter some numbers for selecting options.
It is fully automated, so you dont press any keys on phone, switch between recovery-fastboot etc...
And you dont need deodex your system for fixing no connecion issues with Google Play Store.
Also, it installs Modded Google Play Store 4.1.6 which already has "disable.auotoupdate" feature.
It doesnt install all google apps/bloatwares. Only installs 5 apk which needed for working.
It tested on:
Nokia X2 Dual Sim RM-1013 - 2.1.0.13
Nokia X2 Prototype Single Sim RM-1014 - 2.1.2.6
Should work all versions and regions.
v1.41 is a "HOT UPDATE" If you installed 1.40 before; download v1.41's start.exe and copy it on "C:\Program Files (x86)\AdvancedNokiaX2Tool" or "C:\Program Files\AdvancedNokiaX2Tool" Otherwise you need to dowload 1.40 before updating 1.41
Mod Edit: Pay per click links removed.
Waiting you opinions and replies. Thanks.

From author:
The only firmware that does not freezes completely in my usage scenario.
Has feature not found in any other firmware - ability to adjust screen contrast.
Has a dedicated button for screen refresh in status-bar.
I highly advice to flash TWRP before tinkering with firmware or else in case anything goes wrong it may be difficult to restore your device (since stock recovery is not very functional you may need to pry your device open to access serial console).
As usual: I'm not responsible for any harm done, use it on you own risk.

For sure. You may need to fix updater-script from original update.zip thou.
Got GP 7.8 recently and installed ReLaunch on it. It works fine mostly except for the lack of contrast control.
Wanted to try this firmware to see how the contrast control will work. First started TWRP in test mode. After installing the firmware and rebooting there is the standard android "optimising packages" messages. However the boot process is then stuck at a three dots animation.
Is this supposed to take a long time or did I miss some step?

Is there a way to re-install the original NOOK reader (the app only)? It is not the best reader but the physical buttons page turning is nice option to have sometimes.

No, not longer than 5 minutes. Please make sure that you perform a "factory reset" in TWRP - this is crucial.

If you just need physical buttons, you can modify /system/usr/keylayout/imx-keypad.kl. Keys 191/192 are left buttons, and keys 193/194 are right buttons - you can change them to PAGE_UP/PAGE_DOWN or VOLUME_UP/VOLUME_DOWN, depending on what you need. Or you may use any application that does button remapping.

Not going to cover it here completely, but:
1) you need to enable adb;
2) then in command line "adb reboot fastboot";
3) and "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img";
This is awesome! I’ve been cobbling together some of the various tweaks but this looks to have the vast majority of the stuff and has an awesome status bar.
thank you so much for the answer. I installed TWRP following the instructions you provided. but how do I start TWRP now so that I can proceed to the next step of installing the new software, please?

Well... What makes me sad is the fact that there an instruction on github (where you downloaded twrp from).
But anyway, the only stable way to get into recovery is to execute "adb reboot recovery" from command line.
thank you very much for your patience. for some reason the instructions would not show up on github on firefox, unless I would click on Code...(sorry for that)
So, I was able to boot to TWRP, but once I install the 1.04.4140 zip I get an error saying:
"assert failed: package extract die (system, /system)...I also attaching a picture.

For some reason I cannot see the picture, but I'm guessing there is an "error status 7" which means that you need to unmount /system partition before installation.
