Hello!
I need an advice. What is the better way for Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi to move the apps from internal SD to external?
Please, who already done that can you answer?
Thank you!
Think this belongs in the Q/A section. Anyway, I use File Manager HD for that.
Well general files can be moved to External SD with a file manager, but apps can't be... The Xoom is designed to run apps only from the Internal SD, and the external SD is for user data storage only.

Hello Everyone, and thanks in advance.
here goes...
I have a Galaxy S running JK3 with an 8gig external SD.
When you move apps to SD does Froyo move them to the internal SD or External SD?
My external SD is set up with a fat32 partition only. Do I have to format my external SD with a proper ext partition? If so, can I just do that in Paragon partition manager?
Thanks for the help. I have searched, but the more I read the more I got confused.

LOL Apps are installed on internal sd, not every one has external sd and i know mine never came with one so id guess all my apps must of been on internal sd ...... with 3rd party apps you can sendem to your external sd.... From all reports since froyo this seems to be a thing of the past...tbh im not to sure why people moved then to ex sd in the first place theres plenty of room on internal sd
I have mod 1.3 and I want to move apps form the interanl storage to the sd card, but it says not mounted. I can see it under file manager so i know the sd card is there. is there a way i can move the files.

Unfortunately, you can't. This topic has been covered ad nauseam in the developer thread. Essentially, Elocity has messed up the SD card mount points, and the OS can't find the proper locations to move the apps. We're all still waiting for a fix.

My apps are on external SD card except those that cannot be moved. I have posted information on how to do this in this general section.

hi guys!
I'm not so new here, but i think it's my first post. And a hope not start bad...heheheh
Well, i have a question. I just bought a mustang micro sd card (class10) and i've noticed that not all apps and games can be moved. I mean, what files are moved? Gameloft games are able to move but not at all. All folders with bigger files stay on the phone. And the problem doesn't stops here, the only options I have is to move files between USB storage and device memory...and not for external sdcard. I can see the folder external_sd, but how can I use this?
So, do I have space on external sd card just for photos, music and videos?? Any help is welcome!
Thanks for attention and sorry about my english!
any sugestion...?

I guess so or until someone creates an apps2sd+ or even better a data++ ROM as there are for the HTC Desire. Look in the dev forum over there for more info and explanations about apps2sd+ and data++

thanks mate!
still having headaches!
GPS, apps, games...i can't put anything on sdcard...on my other devices i can put a lot of things on sdcard\android\data
but galaxy s2 the sdcard folder is inside the fone, not the real sd card...
too bad...
The sdcard folder is just the SG2's internal storage. You have to go to sdcard/external_sd to access the actual micro SD card.
With 1GB of /data and 11GB on /sdcard I am not sure why you would need to move data to the microSD.
a 32GB card would be good for media and such though.

Apps2SD is not natively supported on HC or ICS tablets but there are some workaround using gl2sd for gamedata and link2sd wich involve a repartioning of your internal memory - never tried that one. Both needs root. You may try the forum search, there are many thread discussing this issue. I found this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1557810&highlight=apps2sd

You can also do this. The mod will swap your internal memory with your SDcard. You can use your SDcard as your internal memory. All your files/apps will be installed on to your SDcard instead of the tablet internal memory.

anyone can explain how apps move to sd card works on application manager? I actually moved all the apps from device storage to sd card and it does free up space from the device manager, but I don't see the moved apps located on my external sd-card, where did it go?
if so what did it move? simply only the APK file? or data was included?

It only moved apk not the data , data remains in the internal storage only
However if u are rooted u can use the foldermount app that can move the data also to Sd card
but which SD card did it move the apk files to? I thought it was to the external SD-Card, But I don't see anything moved to there when I open my external sd drive.
