Its sound like theres a problem with the phone and not handcent. I would try doing a airplane mode cycle and see if resetting the connection will solve the problem, if not reactivating the phone.

I sometimes get spurts of this happening and a reboot of the phone fixes it. Have you made any changes to your phone lately that would prompt any of this?

no besides rooting it and throwing the scarface theme on. no big chances.
Have you tried to use ChompSMS?
If it works with Chomp and not with the android sms system then you might have a problem... sometimes just a reboot will fix it though.
If it doesn't then it's a connection issue (possibly network).

That could be indicative of a problem source. Like Binary said I would try chompSMS to see if you can replicate the problem. Short of that I would reapply a fresh copy of whatever build you're on (e.g. JF-RC or JF-ADP).
thanx a simple reboot worked.

Hi guys, i have this huge problem, i can't receive SMS. If i send them to myself there's no problem, but i can't receive them from another one
I've already tried changing phone and the sim works, so guess that's a problem with my SGS2. I've already tried changing modem too
Any advice?

Is there any app that might be interfering? You might try solving it by doing a backup of your data and a factory reset. As a last resort, you could try to flash a different firmware to see if the problem persist. Nevertheless, it is possible that there is a simple solution.

Actually i don't know, which app could interfer?
I'll try to do a CWM backup and restore it, but i guess that way it should be the same

3, from Italy, but it's not a carrier problem, sms receiving worked with a different phone
I had the same problem with mine a few weeks ago. Go to messaging>>press menu>settings>does your message centre have the correct #. I had to contact my carrier for mine.

There are some apps which are intended to block sms spam or to send sms to groups, etc. An Anti-virus or something alike possibly could interfere, depending on how it works.
CWM will probably leave everything exactly as it is now. It is useful if you do a backup with the phone working properly, but in this case it wouldn't be helpful.

Hi, i have some trouble with my sms delivery reports. I have activated them from the messaging settings, but even when the message is delivered the report still says "pending". Does anyone else have this issue? Any Idea how to solve this?

Are you connected to your mobile network when you send the SMSs? If you are on Wifi, this sometimes causes problems. Also, check your battery settings. If you have another Messaging app I would test that as well that you will have some kind of comparison.

Thanks for your reply! I am connected on WiFi.. is this like a known bug? I will try without any other connection and report back!

I also tried Handcent SMS and there is the same issue there.. messages still say "pending" (it's not like it's a deal beaker.. I hardly send any sms's anymore.. just a small headscratcher..)
I'm on APK1 - Rooted. A few days ago, I've lost the ability to send SMS. I can receive SMS just fine, however. I've checked APN settings, tried over WiFi, using a different SMS app and none of that seems to be working. I have seen others talk about this issues as well. I wanted to start a new thread for some fresh ideas..
Thanks
It might be something on AT&T's end. Sounds like you covered your bases. I'd call them

I can't get it to update once I put the number in. Do you need quotes around the number?

I had to put it in a few times to get it to stick. If that doesn't work, download GOSMS from the Play Store, that won't require any customizations. Just install and allow the premissons when asked.
I never could get the "update" button to work. I downloaded go sms, set it up, and sent a few texts. After that, all of the sudden the regular text app worked.

Awesome. Glad it worked out.
ii had same problem but i turned off advanced messaging and it works fine
So, I am on call for work and got a few calls overnight. Every other call, it auto-rejected and sent a text saying something like "I am not able to talk try later" or something. How do I make this not happen?
Anyone?
I don't know, but what I've done is delete all the defined Quick Decline Messages in the dialer settings. But it sounds most likely a software issue so report it to Samsung. For the record, I haven't been affected by this.
