Hi, My dad gifted me a PPC with WM6.1. The brand it's a weird one, no ones knows it and I can't find a ROM for it and I really want to change it. If you tell me what ROM to use, is better. Maybe a spanish or english ROM (because the phone have a portuguese one) and I want to change the language too.
I also don't know how to put the ROMs in the phone, but first I need it.
My phone have this specifications:

It's not an HTC or Samsung, the brand it's now known.
The phone is BAK, model BK-MP12GPS.
EDIT: If it's an HTC, Samsung, LG or whatever, I would search the rom for that phone, but it don't have a known brand, so I put the specificatios for you to tell me if some phone have the same and put the rom of that phone into mine.
I've been seaching on the internet and found that the LG Incite have the same screen resolution (WQVGA 240x400), same RAM and ROM (128mb - 256mb).
I will continue looking for some similar phones. Please tell me something: If I put the LG Incite ROM in my phone, will it work?
You won't get your phone to take an LG ROM. There is more to it than screen size and RAM/ROM.
Looks like your phone is a Brazilian made smartphone.
http://www.bakinternational.com/
At least, they make phones and have similar model #'s. I could not find your specific model # on their site though. Still, it might help you to know where your phone came from. Looks like you might be checking Brazilian forums???
If it is made in Brazil and they export it to other South American countries there MUST be Spanish language ROMs out there.
Good luck.

Thanks for your answers but when you turn on the phone it says BAK INTERNATIONAL JAPAN, so I dont really think they make them in Brazil. The phone was in the page, but with the last update, they deleted.
I've found another site - a Celular Varejista (Cell Phone Retailer) That is all in Portuguese and under BAK they list your device along with other models from the company I linked before.
http://celulares.mercadolivre.com.br/bak/bak-todos-os-modelos/mp12_Qshow_30
Does this look like your device?
If so it sems to belong to a series: MP 10, MP 12, MP 15... The 10 and 15 are still listed on the http://www.bakinternational.com/ site, but the MP 12 is not. Loks like there is no manufacturer's support for your specific model.
Maybe it is a Japanese import into Brazil (???), but I can't find any BAK in Japan.

Just loaded up this firmware. Looks good so far! No noticeable changes that I can see though. Took a long time to boot up the first time, but that's to be expected. Any lag and/or stuttering issues (scrolling from homescreen to homescreen, webpage zooming etc.) that I experienced in the earlier firmware still seem to be present. If there are any improvements, however slight they may be, they seem to be more of a placebo effect.

Sadly, no.
However, having said that, Tablet Talk is something that I have been using. Basically it synchronizes SMS between your phone and your tablet, so you can read and respond to your phone's SMS, but on your tablet. The Tablet even shows caller ID when your phone rings! Now if only the developer would take it one step further and allow the tablet to answer the call over speakerphone... Of course you could just answer the phone with a bluetooth earpiece anyway.
thanks... i bought the 8.9 as there are conflicting reviews that gsm voice is supported and i was hoping that it would be supported... i guess i have no choice but to sell my 8.9 when the 7.7 is released.
and hope i dont have to wait much longer... some sites indicate that 7.7 would be release in Nov and so far the sites seems to be correct on the Note and i'm hoping that they are correct with 7.7. Note is now available via online retailers.

I know how you feel. That said, especially considering how useful the Tablet Talk app is, native GSM calling abilities on the tablet are kind of a moot point for me now, (unless of course I wanted to go out with only one device).
For me, if I were to sell my 8.9 in favour of a 7.7, the biggest selling points of the 7.7 are HD SAMOLED+ screen and 1.4GHZ Exynos processor; the GSM phone abilities come as an added bonus really.
Now, as for the Galaxy Note, I'm sorta undecided on this device. I really want to like this device more, and I think it's really cool. I understand what Samsung is trying to by consolidating the functions of both phone and tablet, and for some people, this will be the perfect match. For me, I'm not so sure, and here's why:
Primarily, I'm already paying for two lines, both of which have grandfathered unlimited data, which are worth more than their weight in gold, so as long as I can hold onto that unlimited data, I'm happy to continue paying. One is data-only, and the other is data+voice. So, it makes sense that I would have two dedicated devices. Otherwise I would be just wasting the other line. This actually happened for a few months while I used the original Tab as my only device; my data-only SIM card just sat neglected and gathering dust...
My other issue with the Note is size. I have the GS2, and I can honestly say without hesitation, this is the best phone I have ever owned. I won't go into all the details why, but for the sake of this argument, the size of the GS2 is absolutely perfect! I have held the 4.5" Infuse before for comparison, and though it has only .2" over the GS2, it feels massive! I can only imagine what a 5.3" behemoth must feel like; not for me...
I already knew that the 10.1" Tab was too big for me. I had the original 7" version, and I loved that form factor. It may have felt a bit chubby compared to the 10.1 and 8.9, but for the most part it was like carrying around a small book; I liked that. Don't get me wrong though, I love the feel of the 8.9, but it doesn't have that "book feel" that the ol' 7 had...
I have a sneaky suspicion that the 7.7" - 4.3" dynamic duo will ultimately be my winning pair.
I know how you feel. I agree having a 7.7 and SGS2 would be the perfect match.
I'm having SGS2 too (for my local line) and I'm holding a BB for my foreign country work line which I'm trying to replace. I thought the 8.9 (if it had gsm voice) would be perfect. Unfortunately, it doesnt. So when I'm travelling, I'm carrying 3 devices now and trying to make it just 2 and very likely I will replace my 8.9 with 7.7 when it is launch.
ah for me the 8.9 is as small as i can go seeing as i do a lot of pdf studying on this device. 7.7 would just kill my eyes.

And after, easy to make a flashable cwm rom with your dump ?

It seems to have all european languages, including French yes.
I don't know how easy it is to make a flashable rom from the dump, I'm not a developer.
Well, could you start a thread with your dump, maybe we'll find more help to make something flashable ?
Thx !

Hi guys and gals,
I have the Note 4 N910K in the UK on 3 (three) network and i'm having no probs at all. Signal seems fine, battery is good, 4G working like a champ.
So I believe I can flash any rom from the K/L/S group of phones. I found an Asian thread (sorry can't be more specific) that has took the ROM and de-Korean'd it. That is the dialler and keyboard and other things where all international versions. Good stuff.
However, things like calendar and the weather and even S voice seem to be set on Korean rather than English, so If i have a widget with weather info it will be in symbol form. Even if I remove calendar and grab it from the store it comes back with symbols.
It's the Exynos version, I got it really cheap for £350 so i'll be gutted if I have to give it back.
Is there anything I can do? I'm good with computers and basic coding. Never really dealt with .tar files before. How can I get my ROM looking more international? I've got a GPE M8 here and i'm starting to think it might be better to stick with that
Help?
I know it's an old post, and I hope you already found the answer. But if you don't. You can use any custom rom for N910S or N910C series, all you need to make it work is just flash N910K boot image. And it would be work like a charm.
Hello,
I just bought a N910K for really cheap as well, is there a tutorial somewhere to be able to boot any custom (or even standard) N910C rom ?
Thanks a lot
It's been like 10+ months since the original S5 was released. Now I am talking about the SM-G900F. Cause there are so many of them, and I m a bit lost as far some of the specs are concerned. Could someone clarify things here a bit? I am a bit surprised this hasn't been discussed already...
I have done some research, and I found the following S5 "variants". I briefly mention the differences from the "base" model, namely "SM-G900F":
Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A SM-G901F (Europe) aka "S5 Plus"
This is one's got 805 SD, Krait 450, Adreno 420 and LTE Cat6
...vs the 801 / 400 / 330 and LTE Cat4 of the base model
Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos SM-G900FD
Same hardware as the based model but with Dual SIM support
My question here is whether the DUOS supports all the video rec modes found in the base model?
e.g. [email protected]?
Also, is the SAR measure based on both SIMS working simultaneously?
Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A G906S
This is shares the same hardware with the G901F (S5 Plus) but it has 3GB of RAM and that incredible 577 ppi from the same size 5.1in screen...right? Supposively exclusive for Korea only, but people say it works fine across Europe at all bands 2G, 3G, LTE...
Samsung Galaxy S5 Active SM-G870F
This one lacks the fingerprint sensor of the base model (which I honestly don't care about) and also hosts the same 16MP camera, but at a slightly less resolution i.e. 3456 x 4608 vs 5312 x 2988
There is an octa-core version of the S5, which I didn't include, as I am not interested in it, as it doesn't support LTE (???!!!)
Now, assuming all these are correct, I m still confused as to which should I chose. The S5 Plus (G901F) is good, but overshadowed by the G906S which has more RAM and a better screen.
I would like to go for the DUOS, but does it have the same camera features of the base model? Is it really as good as the base model in all other areas? Cause its exactly same size/weight, so what gives?
The S5 Active G870F was just released in Europe and it's still too expensive. Otherwise, is the camera as good as the one in the base model?
Or should I just toss everything else and go for the base model G900F, which will also save me some $$ as it's cheaper from the rest?
have a look at the development page see if there is any custom roms and support for each phone.
If you not bothered by that i would like the 3gig ram one please
Thanx juDGEY2k10 (love your avatar btw....)
I m not interested in a custom ROM or rooting the phone at the moment. I just try to make up my mind spec-wise. I too have a slight pref towards the G906S - seems like the best all-rounder
Can I ask - if you have Silent mode ON, does that still mute the camera sounds? (at least in 4.1.2 it did)

Cheers mate!
Just to add up to my previous comment regarding the G906S...well it's out of my consideration. It turns out that the uprated CPU/chipset/GPU combo don't do much good to compesate for its remarkable screen, which sucks away it's juice, making it slower even compared to the original S5. OK, I d like to have that screen, but not at that cost - don't you think too?
I d rather have the 'Plus' version (G901F), which lacks the screen and that 1GB of RAM, but still has the same uprated hardware...
Is it worth the extra money ? Not looked myself but maybe the international one would be better overall if you run into any problems when and if u do want to custom it a bit.
Up to u my mate im sure other users will post their opinion

Was wondering...some of those phones that come as part of a network upgrade (e.g. from T-Mobile in Germany), carry network branding in the software. Like showing "T-Mobile" at phone start up. If there any way around through this? I m not talking a custom ROM, but if it's possible to get the Samsung factory/retail ROM, so that it won't have any branding or logos. Is that possible?

Regarding the brading issue, I found the following:
1. Download debranded firmware for your phone.
2. Open ODIN, boot your phone into Download mode.
3. Connect your phone to your PC and select the firmware in ODIN on PDA section.
4. Click Start and wait for the firmware to install.
5. Boot your phone into Recovery mode and wipe data and factory reset.
6. Reboot your phone.
OK - branding gone for now. But what happens when a new official firmware is released? Will I be able to flash directly from Samsung? Or would I have to use ODIN again? If not, how does Samsung know that this phone is tied to a specific provider? (IMEI?)
Get a stock rom flash it with odin as long as u dont root it or use a custom recovery u should be able to do OTA updates via samsung. Dont think they track the phone in that way its just down to the phone, if its been customised at all (root bla bla not supported by samsung) But you will not be on their list of people who have messed with their phones or anything like that.

Yup. I m only looking for "stock" at the moment, so having OTA update capability is vital for me.
Can anyone confirm this? Someone who tried it on an S5 variant I mean...

hello everyone!
I'm thinking of finally buying a tablet and came here to see what roms were available foR the s4 tab. However, does the size of the tablet matter for the rom and where do i find the the model number for the device? Or would anyone suggest a better tablet my only requirment is it needs a micro sd slot and preferably under 350.
Thanks to anyone who can help.
from my understanding, yes the size of the tablet does matter, as well as the brand.
At&t has a locked bootloader so everything besides root is a no go as of right now. and root requires some work on at&t. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/general/rooted-nk2-att-t377a-t2992639)
as for the model number as far as I know, you can only get find that once you have the device under "about device" in settings. at&t 8" is sm-t337a (I would imagine all at&t devices end in the "a"" ) - other than that no real clue besides googeling

The model numbers go SM-T### (# = number). SM-T23# is a 7.0 inch, SM-T33# is an 8.0 inch, and SM-T53# is a 10.1 inch. If the last number is 0 it's a Wi-Fi only model, if not it's most likely either 3G or 4G LTE. Model number is crucial to the rom; roms are designed for specific model numbers, with only a small amount of cross-compatibility (if any at all). Right now there are a bunch of Cyanogenmod roms out for the Wi-Fi only models of the 10.1; all other sizes and models only have stock-based rom. That might be changing soon, but it's hard to tell for sure. I'm fairly certain all variants come with a micro sd slot.
OK thanks I'm definitely getting wifi only. probably gonna get 10.1 since I'll be rooting and getting a rom immediately.

Didn't want to tell you what to do but now that you've said this, I think that's the smartest move. Plenty o' roms. And just so you know, the model number for WiFi only is SM-T530, there is also a version with an IR blaster, SM-T530NU. Any ROM designed for one will work perfectly fine on the other, with the only issue of course being potentially losing IR function if you have it going to a ROM that doesn't. That said custom kernels have just been released to address that exact issue, so it really is a great time to have this model. I am posting this using my SM-T530NU running CM12.1, a rom originally designed for the SM-T530.
TLDR: Good choice and don't get hung up on T530 vs T530NU
