Seriously - I've read some of the most ignorant, bigoted, and asinine comments around here about the iPhone. Everyone seems to despise it. Please, explain to me why?
Is it left over hatred from PC vs. Mac? Do you not realize this is a different industry? Do you not realize that all your Mac vs. PC opinion were formed 15 years ago and that things have changed since then?
Or is it something else? You just feel uncomfortable having another big player in the market? Another $600 phone that people can buy. Do you feel uncomfortable that the "smartphone" (definitions aside) market is expanding to include people who wouldn't traditionally be interested in such devices? Are you threatened now that everyone will compare your HTC to an iPhone? Are you pissed off because deep down you know you have a second rate device now?
I mean I really want to know. People on the forum seem to know nothing about the iPhone and yet hate it vehemently. People here know less about it than my grandma, which is amazing considering you're all hardware geeks.
So can we just lay off the player hatin'? The iPhone is what it is. It's a foundation device that is turning the industry upside-down - and in a good way no matter which side your on. They're the first company to design a mobile device from the ground up with usability in mind. That has got to count for something.
Have you tried Safari on the iPhone? I can tell you this now - it blows EVERY mobile browser I've ever used out of the water - and I've tried them all. Have you tried the keyboard? I think with practice I could be just as fast as on my 8525, if not faster. Have you played with the camera or the map? It's smooth, people ... and unless you've tried it you don't know what you're talking about.
You can hate on the iPhone because it's bubbly and shiny and a threat to your geekdom. But give it a little credit - it really is a futuristic device with futuristic features (yea, I admit it's missing some basic stuff - but come on, it's 1st gen). It's the first mass-appeal phone to hit the market running a *nix core. In a few years all your windows mobile devices will look exactly the same and you'll praise how genius Microsoft is for designing such a good phone.
Admit it, without Apple the next version of Windows Mobile would be another use-your-stylus-for-everything interface hell. I think now that we have the iPhone WM7 is going to be anything but less user friendly.
Um, okay. You're still gay.
I agree
iPhone...............Muhahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!
If "I" had $600.00 and I wanted something "like" an iPod & something Like a phone........ I'd do the following....
1. Buy an Apple 80 Gig iPod(10 times the storage of the iPhone). I can do pictures, movies, etc....etc...etc....
2. Buy a Good Windows Mobile Phone that I can process documents, send MMS messages, manage my contacts etc "WITHOUT" having to plug into that pain in the rear "iTUNES"....................
3. In case you haven't quite figured it out.......while Apple was "Re-inventing" the "Mobile Phone".......they were also conjuring up very solid ways to seperate you, from your hard earned GOLD........ Example you ask......ok, most other phones you can swap the sim card in other countries and use their networks to SAVE YOUR GOLD......... with this piece of Sh## you have to "ROAM" on AT&T's very expensive "International Calling or Roaming Plans...... If you haven't heard of "Skype" you may want to "GOOGLE" it..... you can make VoIP calls for FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR................... less than paying those Humungous International Roaming Rates.......
So continue enjoying that new fangeled what you ma call it.......and keep paying the corporate PIMPS who've produced a very clever way to disguise how to "Pick your Pocket" all the while they're F'ing YOU!!!!!!!!! And I'm sure they love THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
iPhone you Say?????
I'd RATHER NOT........................................
Just my 2 Cents,
vpu2....OUT!!!!
It's a technological abortion.
Everything the iPhone can do, we have been doing for years, and better.
But the Sheeple are buying up the over-price under-powered piece of crap.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
I don't hate the iPhone, I only know that it doesn't have things I would miss. If there was a Safari for Windows mobile I would install and use it. But to buy an iPhone only for Safari I had to be silly. I need other things, such as eTcl, Skype, Viewers for office documents, GPS and I want to replace the SIM card whenever I want.

i dunno why i hate it..... oh yeh, coz its ****e.,
I don't hate it, I think it will give msoft a well-deserved kick in the rear. However, I'm not buying one because:
I'm in the UK so couldn't even if I wanted to
It does'nt do 3G/HSDPA
It doesn't do Exchange
It doesn't read books!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't use more than one SIM card
I can't use an extra battery if travelling
Now, to me these are not 'in depth geek' type things. These are all things I do several times a day and which I have been used to do for years, even from my old Nokia 6610
I consider these very basic things, which 'normal' people need/want to do.
If the Iphone did all these and had an open system where people could design software for it, then I would be saving up my pennies for it now, but so far, it doesn't, so my pennies will be going towards a Kaiser.
At the moment it would be like investing in a huge beautiful state of the art flat screen tv, and then finding out that it could not be connected to satellite or cable. Gorgeous, beautiful, but not very useful.
Simple fact is the iPhone is a bad phone with an iPod grafted into it. I was using Touchscreen ages ago with my Sony P900.......also i was playing MP3s with UnrealPlayer.
ALLOVER the news here (UK) they are saying the phone functions leave alot to be desired and the camera sucks.
Fair enough the camera on the Hermes also sucks but im willing to bet it matches the iPhones effort.
No 3G is stupid, No mms or wifi is also stupid since the ICs available to do ALL these features wouldnt be difficult to implement.
Bottom line is the fashion victims will LOVE the iPhone and lap it up...but all i will hear for months after is how good the new iPhone is...while im nicely playing Quake on the train....watching XviD rips of my DVDs on Coreplayer and downloading stuff at 1.8mbps over HSDPA.
The people who buy iPhone will not like no 3G or MMS.
other then that fact it doesnt do 3g, which that alone would steer me away, other then the fact it doesnt do MMS, i want to love it..but i went to the apple store and tried to text with it..if you send more then 5 text messages a day, you will end up returning your iphone...trust me.
With all the things, listed above (and many where else) that iPhone cannot do, I'm wondering why there are still geeks obsess about it. I know why normal people get obsess about it, as what Prada phone did, I just dont understand, geeks are at a higher level and should understand what iPhone can do and cannot do. We get tons of threat here, just because 'MY PHONE CANNOT USE MP3 AS RINGTONE'. And this iphone, can't even use their iTune (yes, the same company) song as ringtone.. and no one complain about it?!
Anyway, I must admit that, having iPhone is a good thing as it will push things ahead, giving the M$ monopolized market a push. However, iPhone, as with their iPods, are not the best device (yes, there are other better MP3 players than iPod, and NO, Apple is not the first one with MP3 players, just incase you don't know).
are you seriously saying that the camera is good? look man, i used this piece of crap before...the camera images look good on the device, but when uploaded to the computer, they look like ****...you cant take video with the camera, you cant recieve or send mms, pop accounts dont work properly on it, you can only send 1 image in e-mail at a time...there are barely any features on it, ill tell you right now, a clock is not a ****in feature, so why the hell is it on the main menu!? to fill up the ****in huge screen?(might i add, the screen is very lovely)...
nonsensical.

Your post is the most ignorant, bigoted, and asinine comments around here about the iPhone. Do you seriously think that the iPhone and Hermes can be compared side by side?
Since you are raving about Safari... Would you buy a $600 product just coz of Safari? Will you be able to surf fast enough without 3G, HSDPA and WiFi?
This is ridiculous. I suggest you get some fire retardant suit.
uhhm
Im sure your kicking yourself in the but for even thinking of opening this thread hey Mr iPhone?
What can the iphone do that our phone can't?? Plus some of the feature are outdated. as if they iphone should of came out almost a year ago. Now apple is saying they are making a 3g phone. It's a typical company tring to nickel and dime everyone. They start the new phone our with crappy tech thats been out for years. Now they are already talking about a 3g when they should of done that from the start. Our phone can doo soo much more than the iphone. yuo can only play songs, browse the internet and take pictures. You can't load any 3rd party apps or anything. they are also releasing a 4gb and 8gb micro sd card. So you paid 600 for 8gb and we will probably pay maybe 100 for a microsd of 8gb. I think the iphone is overly priced.
Hehehe... funny stuff.
Bottom line - none of us are the target audience. They don't care if we like it - hell, they don't WANT us to like it.
700,000 sold in the first weekend. (Mostly the more expensive model.)
So, let's see....
700,000 x $575 = $402,500,000 in revenue
Average cost to make <$300 so...
700,000 X $275 = $192,500,000 in profit
Estimated buyers MOVING to AT&T from another network = 50% (from analyst, not from AT&T) so...
350,000 new subscribers with 2 year commitment at average of $80 per month = $28,000,000 in NEW revenue per month or $336,000,000 annually.
This is all first weekend... Yeah, they suck.
Beta v. VHS, blah blah blah... the best technology is not always the best product as judged by the marketplace.
Only a foaming at the mouth Apple fanboi could start such a thread.
Bigoted about the iPhone? REALLY? Did you REALLY just post that?
Do you even know what bigoted means? You do know it is just a phone, don't you?
Lets start:
No 3G, No MMS, no third party application access, no memory expansion (how can it be the "best ipod ever" if it only holds 8Gb?, no full bluetooth, no self settable ringtones, no cut/paste, no document editing, no file browser, no saving of images from the browser, no printing of images over bluetooth, no sending of images over wifi, no wireless sync, no exhange push email, no blackberry connectivity option, lies about battery life, cripped device till activated, locked into one operator with a 2 year plan.
Need more?
Yes, it is a sexy phone. It looks nice. And that is where it ends.
And FWIW, I have 4 of the damn things here, all from buddies who purchased one and have asked me to ebay them for them. I played with one for a whole 5 minutes and was bored with it. The damn thing doesn't even have a real RSS reader.
So, it does boobtube. Big deal.
I'm sure they will sell millions of them, but this forum is full of smarter people who demand more from their device.

Given the lines I saw on TV I'd assume it could suck your ****, mow your lawn and make you a nice hot breakfast.
Did you see the Apple staff cheering and clapping when the customers came in?
That isn't a retail store, it's a damn cult.
now this is a phone
CHECKS THIS OUT http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/like-the-...ice-261388.php
My buddy bought an iPhone. He's a fashion sissy. He's had an 8125 and 8525 in the past. He says the iPhone is only superior in its display quality, and that some things really suck on it:
You can't transfer files to/from it using another phone - this makes you have to buy Apple or AT&T's ringtones, and download MP3's from iTunes.
You can't use your songs as ringtones. WTF?
Those were all I heard before I laughed so hard he couldn't talk anymore.
On the outside someone might be thinking the N1 is a terrible phone plauged with problems etc. But the more I look into these articles and reviews they seem to be 'complaining' about non issues.
You've all seen the engadget and gizmodo reviews, but take this article: 6 reasons not to like the nexus one!? This guy made up his mind before he even picked up the phone, and then wrote his article based on other bias reviews.
There was also an article featured on /. regarding the support backlash but all it cites are random 'customers' getting bounced around, and doesn't corrilate a common problem or state what these 'people' were having problem with. However there does seem to be a real problem with 3g/edge flapping. If the article had been written as well as this random forum poster I would be fine with it, but instead PCW took the angle of FUD, and it just angers me.
...and then it hit me, this phone might just be the iphone killer and fanboys are actually getting scared. Thoughts?
"6 reasons to hate" is a hands-off schoolboy attempt at bashing.
he's just pissed he isn't important enough (or hasn't budgeted his finances) enough to have one handed him.
the other non-reviews are a farce. when there is a real, hands on, weekly use review of the nexus, i'll listen up. for now it's all M$ generated (and other mobile OS venders) fud that proves the nexus is awesome hardware, running awesome software.
sure, there are some what-ifs about verizon/att/whoever, but they're just carriers. dumb pipes. really really dumb pipes. we all know it's the hardware and more importantly the SOFTWARE that matters. the dumb pipe carriers are just mad they finally have a real reason to fear phones that are not chained to their crappy services and contracts.
let them whine. the fud is easy to cut through with logic.
I got the Nexus One. Your are correct, the only problem is the 2G/3G connection switching. The computing power of this phone is amazing.
I never like professional reviews for anything, movies, games or tech because theyre all just some one paid to write their opinion, and you never know whos writing their check, or their companies check. I do however like user reviews from people that paid for and really use the product, and I think those have been strong. I think the most important part of the "6 reasons not to like" article is all the backlash at the bottom and users defending the phone, shows how much people really like theirs already. I am really lovin this phone, also I havent had the 3G issues some have been having, I have a mytouch, G1 and N1, all on TMob and they all have 3G all the time for me, I think it really depends on the market cause if it was a hardware or software issue I would think everyone would have that problem
am I the only one who IS NOT seeing this 2G-3G problem? I mean I do see the 3G connection sometimes going from 2 bars to 4 bars in the same area, and In some places around where I live I can't get 3G coverage, but this is the EXACT SAME behavior I saw on my MT3G
First off, I have to say that I absolutely love the N1...I don't remember the last time I was this obsessed with a gadget both before and after I got it.
That being said, I was starting to get a little nervous while waiting for FedEx because of all the bad press I was seeing. But then I noticed that a large chunk of this press was generated by sites like macworld.com or other apple, iphone, mac related sites. While the N1 has some minor glitches(what piece of technology doesn't), this is mostly a case of fanboys feeling threatened because people won't be oohing and aahing over there iphone as much.
P.S. I came from a G1 and am seeing absolutely no difference/problem with my 2g/3g service.
These network issues seem to be only in the US.
Never had any problems in the UK with my iPhone/3G, G1, Hero.
But then again pretty much all the UK is 3G anyway
Clearly people are writing this phone off without even seeing/using it!
Was in work and two are big WinMo and iPhone fans and they even said a few hours after it was officially announced that the iPhone is better without even knowing anything about it! I then told them about the Snapdragon / 512mb ram etc and then they shifted it saying yer but Android is rubbish!
But in work their are also a few Android users (G1, Tattoo and Hero) and they couldn't wait to see what Android does and if anything from the N1 will get ported etc!
Its just like the good old which console is the best? 360 or PS3! You can argue all day but you will never win the argument!

i agree completely. i have zero, ZERO problems with by n1 except for the dynamic polar clock of course. Google was very prompt with a return e-mail about the polar clock also. im very sure Google has an update soon for up to fix the polar clock and the 3g/edge switch issue. i seem to remember alot of bad press about the iphone when it originally came out also, as i recall it had alot of bugs. i guess this is "bad press" is our hater-aid and we should just drink up while the ifanboys drink their Apple kool-aid.

REMOVABLE BATTERIES?! NON-SENSE! (sarcasm)
I don't really get why people are bashing the N1. In the end, it's the same as the 3gs in terms of app placement- the hardware's faster than the other two models and developers have to make a choice of whether or not to take advantage of it- Android's made tons of improvements and now there's even fewer restrictions on the hardware (sold unlocked, super easy root)
I've loved my G1 for awhile and while it's a tank, I eagerly await getting the N1 at the end of the month as I've been able to toy with one (boss ordered after CES) and it pretty much lives up to all the hype.
I'm eager to get my hands on the section of the SDK that will allow for programming of live wallpapers- i love theming, and I can't wait to get a few of my ideas for a live background.

The trackball comment sounded like it was pulled directly from the gizmodo review. The trackball does the same thing it has on every android phone, there's nothing to report here.
Those tech writer/review are dumb asses. Every new good potential phones that come out they write up a review or hand on and then compare it to the iphone and then they talk junk about it. Esp those engadget @sshole. For ex, when the N900 came out, they talk mad sh!t about it comparing to the iphone, well for once, if they were smart enough, iphone is up to 3.1 version, and maemo 5 is still not complete. And now the nexus, android os had about 1.5 yr to grow so far. Iphone os? Well maybe 3 now? Iphone didnt have mms til 3.0 comes out, those reviewer are a bunch of iphone fanboys who seriously cant stand the thought of a competing device that might have a chance to beat it. I rather read forums and base my buying decision than trusting some blog writing techy.

I had a discussion yesterday with one of my coworkers on that, because he's stuck on a family plan. But this is a t-mobile decision, and them doing what they've always done and screwing over existing customer in favor of new signups. I'd kinda like to see the churn numbers at tmo. In any event, its still cheaper to buy the phone outright and continue with my grandfathered plan, even further non-contract plans are still cheaper in the end, and tmo is the only provider currently offering this inside the United States.
I hate everything about my new super sleek, super fast N1. What I hate most is its speed. Actually, I think I hate its awesome screen the most. Or that it's too light and thin for the power it has. I also hate how easily my contacts, calendar and email sync seemlessly with my device. I hate the fact I have to use a top of the line browser when going online and I especially hate that all my music plays so well. Watching all those HD quality movies I've converted and watching high quality YouTube videos is so boring. I can't stand my desktop full of all those widgets that provide me with useful information and those folders keeping my apps sorted just get in the way. But--and here's the most important thing I hate about my N1--I hate that I can make phone calls wherever I am. I'd much rather my calls be dropped. And that's all before I even rooted it to get access to more stuff to make my N1 terrible.

Hi,
I am an executive for Engadget.com and I have taken an interest in your talent for reviewing new technology and writing reports. I would like to offer you a job on my staff for reviewing new phones on the market. I won't go into detail on public forums about the specifics of the job but I can tell you that we will supply you with a free Iphone3gs and free unlimited everything contract, compliments of our partnership with Apple and ATT. If you would like further details please private message me.
Thanks
This is a simple but direct commentary on the usefulness of the Verizon Galaxy Tab.
I have owned most of the Verizon based smartphones and I am an avid Apple user. That means I have went through all of the Windows Mobile versions, Iphone 3G, every one of the Verizon Android phones and stood in line for the 32 gb iPad on day 1.
My family and I travel a great deal via auto for recreation - I mean a lot!! I thought the iPad would be exactly what I wanted for use for staying in touch on the road. I was right about my thoughts but wrong about Apple's approach - I own an Imac and MacBook so I should have known better but didn't. Apple doesn't care what I want, just what Apple wants. Don't get me wrong, I really like my Imac and MacBook BUT an iPad tethered through my Android Verizon phone simply ain't going to get there from here.
On to the straight forward.
Thanks to dev's (that I try to support via donations) the Verizon Tab is what I wanted to iPad to be - a useful traveling companion.
1. Great screen. I thought 7" was going to be small. You forget it very quickly after you start using it. The Samsung screen is very viewable from all angles - try looking at a Viewsonic from anywhere other than straight on, No contest. The iPad wins size and a little bit on viewability - but not by much. The Tab is very clear and bright.
2. Usefulness as a wireless connection. No contest. Verizon Tab is clear winner. Use the 1 GB plan when away from wifi and you have a full time connected handheld computer capable of video chat. Yes Video Chat, see the threads with Clear Sea - wow. Effortless and I am sure we will soon have an unrestricted, downloadable apk fairly soon.
3. A realtime, real GPS via Verizon and Google Maps. This is a king daddy app. My wife struggles with using my Android phone based maps. She really gets the Google Maps/Places. Using the Verizon on line stuff. Incredible.
I initially was unwhelmed with the Tab, bought one on line thru ebay for $500 and hooked up with a month to month and bingo bongo binge!!!
This is a nice direction for Tablets to take - very useful!!
Great to hear that.
I guess these are the scenarios in which we can really see the usefulness of the tab. Not everyone is cut out to use a tab and those people should stop hating.

I have an Ipad but use of a hotspot to connect the device to enable use away from wifi is a real buzz kill.
The Tab simply works and works without a great deal of setup or attention.
Foxnews.com (I'm laughing already) posted a brief story about the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/06/17/samsung-galaxy-tab-101-no-match-for-ipad/
So yes, the Samsung Galaxy Tab feels nice in the hands, it's got a nice display, and the hardware works well. But who's buying a device like this? Do you walk into a store with a blindfold on, feel around for devices, and say, "You know what? That one feels nice. I'll take that one."
Let's talk about applications, for one thing. Samsung has included about six apps of their own on top of the standard Android package. Subtract them, and you're left with a bunch of shoddy applications that aren't really made for Honeycomb, the operating system running on this device.
There are a bunch of other Android apps, of course -- 65,000 of them or so -- but very few quality ones, and there are very few application developers who are really sinking their teeth into this platform at this to date.
For instance, there are very few good Twitter clients, and very few news readers. Want to browse headlines? You'll be hard pressed here.
So should you buy this device? I can't in good conscience tell you to go out and spend $400 on this half-baked experience when the fully baked iPad experience can be had for just a few dollars more.
Unless of course you want to go shopping blindfolded.
Where to start?
* The picture before clicking on the story is of the 10.1V model.
* Android has a lot more than 65,000 apps (granted tablet optimized ones are much fewer).
* It's not a $400 tablet.
* I don't wear a blindfold when buying a tablet, but comfort is very important since I have to hold the thing in my hand.
I'm not gonna debate which is better. That's a matter of opinion. But wow, this story was just absolutely bad. Gave me a chuckle.
LOL fox news never ceases to amaze me with their stupidity and lies
Sadly people will read that and be influenced by it. Tech journalism is a toilet bowl.
How these people end up on " name " sites is beyond me.
This is that same station that has Glen Beck. What do you expect from them?
Obviously 'The Daily' isn't selling enough iPad subscriptions. Poor NewsCorp, this is what they've been reduced to.
He's truly an Apple Fan Boy. There was not one thing he liked about the Samsung and the Google experience it seemed. I have an iPad as well, but I prefer using the Android tablets. Yes, Apple has more apps, but many of the apps I use are crippled. For instance, DropBox & SugarSync apps for Android has a lot more features than the iPad version. That was one of the reasons why I went Android.
He's knocking the screen layout of the Samsung, because the Ipad is more suited for portrait mode. I have no problems with the widescreen format, because many laptop screens are pretty much the same format.
I'm glad I came across other reviews on the web. If this was the only review on the net, I'm sure people would definitely stay away from Android.
One thing I've noticed, is that ipad users are mentioning the GT10.1 low weight as a drawback. IIRC one of the great features the IP2 had over IP was lower weight. Of course when someone makes a lighter tablet than the IP2, it's a bad thing...
I never go tablet shopping blindfolded..... Im scared i would end up with an iPad
Actually there are some issues being reported from the early adaptors and I for one agree with some of the review given by Fox. I will not go along with any Fanboys from any tablet manufacture (Including those on this forum) but when I here some hands on users complaints at this early stag, this will consern me in not buying at first launch.
Case in point just today...

I hope all of you will take a break in bad mouthing a report when some of the story is true and confirmed by a few users.

If the story actually complained about specific issues like browser lag or this so called screen response issue (I'm not seeing it), that would at least be somewhat credible.
The story is laughable because it's so factually incorrect and substanceless, and just seems to want to bash a product that I am not sure the author even touched.

The browser lag typing in text boxes using the browser is not just a Samsung GT issue. It's a HoneyComb issue. I'm sure future updates will address this issue. I had the same issue with my Acer.

I just thought this was bad journalis, but of course, you're right on the money! With Foxnews being owned by NewsCorp which have a material stake in the success of ipad exclusive 'The Daily', of course, they have to trash Honeycomb Tablets ...
I bought one today, cause I wanted one. My $ and all. Don't watch foxnews propaganda either. That's for the dumbed down folks.

I have to agree with them on apps. Android apps have always been sub par to apple apps. Other than that this tab is 100% worth it, even with the lag i find myself using it much more than my ipad

In my humble opinion, Fox News is never stupid without a reason. They typically strive to appeal to a conservative, Christian market (just like their UK cousin, the Daily Mail), and generally I think try to avoid stepping on the toes of anyone within their target demographic. (Everyone else though, is more than fair game) That's because they are a business. I honestly think it's their stake in the iPad that allowed this to even make it on the Fox News website, because they had to know that such a flippant and dismissive article would draw the ire of Android fans; and certainly, there must be some conservative Android users.

What lies?
While I disagree with the review and find non-tech sourced reviews to be generally lackluster, people here (and in general) give Fox way too much trouble. From what I've seen, they're (at worst) as good as anyone else.

Article = bad tech journalism or outright propaganda...
As for the tablet - The glass pulling away is a real issue, how severe is yet to be determined. The browser lag is somewhat expected, hopefully fixed soon. Video playback issues cannot be fixed on this tablet unfortunately.
As for someone saying the weight of this tab is a negative, that is just retarded. My iPad 2 still feels heavy after reading for 5 hours (which I did for the first time yesterday).
Enjoy your sexy piece of hardware fellas... It really does look awesome

Ehh, like I said, they're a business. So is every other 24 hour cable news station, they all have weaknesses and annoying quirks (and quacks). I know I'm guilty of leading it in that direction a bit, but I don't think this thread should become a 'let's bash Fox!' thread. (Or Glenn Beck, he's leaving Fox anyway )

I watched maybe 20 minutes of him yesterday (second time ever, first being when he was randomly on a few months back at 2 AM) and he made complete sense. Of course, that doesn't mean he's never said stupid stuff. (Far from it.)
I have yet to form an opinion on him, as most of the criticism I've heard of him was along the lines of "right wing loon", "Tea Party fascist", etc. which means nothing to me.
Hi all,
Just been in to my local car phone warehouse, they had stock in and let me play with the display model..
Super smooth and v responsive but I have a few things to ask..
1. Does anyone. Know if this phone is EE 4g ready? I find it unbelievable that a phone is on sale without info on this!!
2. Do people think the addition cost of the contract is worth it over the gs3 which currently has some impressive deals?
Any help is appreciated as I am planning on upgrading today to either of these... Or if anyone can convince me to wait till wp8 is released I'm willing to listen!!
Thanks
There both good phone in there own right its down to persanal preference. Size etc note 2 is better specs with pen. .if u wear skinny jeans its a nono
It's not 4g ready, and personally I prefer this phone over the S3. I have recently bought my wife the S3, it's a great phone, but the screen is too small for me. Plus note 2 has a stylus and the S3 doesn't.

Got released in swedish stores today I just got one without even trying the display model out lol. Super happy
Skickat från min GT-N7100 via Tapatalk 2
I'm waiting on the store manager to see what he can do for me in terms of tarriff then I'll go finalise with him later today...
A little disappointed that it's not LTE ready for the uk I guess that means they will release a new version in a few weeks/month...
My other half has an s3 it's a great phone and realistically gn2 is only better for browsing and video use everything else is pretty much the same... I can't see know the pen will be of any use in say a months time when the novelty wears off...
And also there is chat on other threads about some versions not having all the features in the advert videos... Such as multi screen, Samsung are properly rubbish at launches this kind of stuff makes them look so amateur they have an awesome product line why not work on marketing and getting the little details right.?
Yep, Samsung are pathetic at product launches.
good

great:good:
So went and got one anyway...
Handset is good, decent enough size to fit in the pocket, super responsive and the pen feels great, the extras they have added in for the are very useful also..
Build quality is usual Samsung, feels cheapish but still very sturdy and iv not had any real ability issues with either my sgs or sgs2 so assume this to be the same.
So there's no multi view in my rom which is ALIE so a little disappointed but I'm sure it will be easy to resolve once more people have the handset..
Doesn't seem to have the live recording feature either which I thought would be useful
Browser is very fast and all apps load pretty much instantly, but to be honest speed etc is the same as the s3 it's only better due to the extra included features...
