Chainfire3D works with this. - Kindle Fire General

Kindle Fire is powervr. Using Chainfire3D, you can emulate qualcomm (snapdragon) or tegra (nvidia).
Because Google market isn't showing me games, I used Titanium Backup on my phone (Inspire 4G, snapdragon) and tried to restore it on the Fire. It restored, but upon trying to play the game (Asphalt 6 and Eternal Legacy), the game was missing textures if I could get it to run (constant errors such as "your device is not supported").
I tried searching if anyone tried Chainfire3D on the Kindle Fire yet, but to no avail. I decided to try my luck and installed the driver. To my horror, the boot screen reloaded over and over again... thought I bricked yet another Fire... but, it soon showed the home screen, and was installed just fine.
With Chainfire3D installed, those games work great now.
TL;DR- Chainfire3D works with the Kindle Fire.

Asphalt 6 has many versions there is for samsung and motorola etc.. wich one worked for you on the kindle fire?

I told you which one (snapdragon / qualcomm, e.g. what Inspire 4G is). Ultimately, it doesn't matter whichever one you use, as long as the Chainfire3D is configured correctly (i.e. if you use one built for tegra, just set Chainfire3D to tegra plugin).

How do I properly install ChainFire to play games like Dead Space? I've never used ChainFire before.
I just installed Riptide GP w/o using ChainFire. Some games work fine but some dont like Dead Space.

Has anyone tried ChainFire 3D in relation to N64 roms? Mario Tennis and NBA Live 2003 stutter a lot on my kindle fire and I'm hoping CF 3D will help.
Also when I try to install plugins, it says it can't find them even though they're on my kindle for sure. I'm using the Pro version, should I revert to free?
Thanks

Post Instructions please
You should post instructions or where you looked to get this working on our kindle fire please

[Q] Chainfire3D not working?

I've got a Nook Color running the 152 Nightly installed internally. It's OC to 1200 Mhz and has uboot 1.2 installed. It runs great!
I just ran into the information about Chainfire3D and I'd like to try out some Tegra Games. I purchased Chainfire3D Pro and installed the Nvidia Plugins for Tegra games. I used the update button to show more apps in the Market. I installed the Tegra Zone. I rebooted the Nook after doing all these installs/changes.
When I search the Market, no Tegra Apps show up. When I find an App in the Tegra Zone and select "Get it" it transfers to the Market and then gives me a message that the App couldn't be found. I downloaded a copy of Samurai II for testing purposes and installed it. When I try to play, it says that my device is not supported.
My build.prop has been modified to make my tablet look like a Galaxy Tab. I'm not sure if this is messing things up. If it's not my build.prop file, then what is causing the Chainfire3D app to not work?

[Q] ESPGaluda + DoDonPachi Ressurection, why are these games not compatible?

I know I'm being a little bit specific for these two games, but the whole choice between buying my A500 (which rocks just fine btw), or an Ipad, was the ability to play these games, as up until now, they were only on the Itunes market, as well as google play, but in japanese version. They were finally brough to the US google play a short time ago, and they're STILL not compatible with my Iconia. I don't get it, especially with a Tegra 2, why shouldn't these games be playable? Does anyone happen to know what would cause certain games not to be playable, because they are other korean HD games that I would like to play as well, but they always crash when loading. Is there a way around this issue? Thanks.

This is going to depend on if you are rooted? If you are, you can do this,
a. Open your "build.prop" file in /system and modify the line "ro.product.model=" to a different model, like instead of Acer-A500, change it to A500
b. Save and re-boot
c. Go to settings/apps and clear the cache on your Play store app.
Go to play store app and see if you can download it again.
or
You can download the Game.apk to a device that is compatible, and copy the apk to your device and install it through a file manager.
Note: in Settings/Apps or Settings/Security, you have to select "unknown sources". This allows you to install apps not downloaded via Play Store.
or
You can try this app as your country may be restricted from certain Play Store apps;

I've checked the games you mentioned. Due to the fact I have installed several different Roms on my 501, most of them are "compatible", although it seems the original Stock systems were not.
But there is no promise these games will run correctly using the above methods.

Moscow, you are the MAN! I FINALLY got both of them to work correctly. Had to root my tablet, install root manager, lucky patcher, etc. but in the end, everything works fine. I did end up having to install them both from a secondary file download, not through Google Play, but so what? Thanks for all your helpful information!

No Problem Mate
Remember, I flash a lot of experimental roms, so according to Google Play, I have about 10 different devices. And the only 2 that said was not compatible, was Asus Transformer and my Stock A501. All the other 501's were ok. Probably I had 10 different buildprops :laugh::laugh:

Make google play the default market howto (root required)

When you open links to android apps in the browser or other external apps the Kindle intercepts them by default and takes you to the Amazon market instead. In most cases it doesn't have that app which is pretty annoying. To fix that all you need to do is rename MarketIntentProxy.apk in /system/app. No ill effects found so far and it takes effect immediately.
sorry, to ask. But rename it to what?
When I did this I just renamed it to marketintent.bak
Sent from my KFTT using xda app-developers app
Google Play Market Kindle 7" Software 7.2.3
I decided to just move it from /system/app/MarketIntentProxy.apk to /sdcard/download - works great. Thank you for the post.
not working for dolphin add ons
Hi I tried installing a dolphin browser add-on after a successful root and renamed the proxy market file, but I still get redirected to amazon. So it doesn't seem to be working for me which is slightly weird as I'm sure I installed some dolphin add-ons before the root.
Any ideas please?

xamol,
You are using an old version of the Google Play Market. The new Market is version 3.10.10.
The problem you are describing is quite common with the older Google Play Market.
Please go over to our post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069859
Or download and install the attached apk. This will also reduce the number of
" ! your device Isn't compatible with this version" you had experienced.
Hi prokennexusa,
First things first, thanks for the superb noob guides and for your help.
I'm still having this issue after following all the guides. My Market is on version 3.10.10, verified through the apps browser in ES File explorer, but I still get redirected to the Amazon store for a Dolphin add-on.
I still cannot install quite a few apps, for instance the My Vodafone app. I also tried the side load method, if this is the correct method?. I copied the .apk file to system/app and changed the acl to RW/R/R but the app still failed to install.
I've attached the apk so if you've got time or any interest in it you can have a look.
Or if you can point me in the right direction on how to debug/troubleshoot, or even check install log files for a starter that would be great.
Cheers
amazon market
yes it work great! but I still got the message "this app is not compatible with your device" even after installing the new version attached in this thread....
I just notice one thing about the apps in amazon, some apps actually work perfect in KFHD compare the app available in GPLAY.
HDplayer for instance, both availabe in each store but performs differently....the amazon version is great...

ryanne81,
Great work ryanne81! I am glad we were able to solve the Default Market issue. Now, moving on to the
"this app is not compatible with your device" issue. When Google Play Store shows this message,
there is a 70% chance that it is indeed correct. A good example is a customer request this morning,
he wanted "Sky Go" on his Kindle Fire HD, when he wen to Google Play Store, the message
"this app is not compatible with your device" displayed making it difficult to obtain the apk. He
contacted us and we have the apk, as well as over 5000 other apk's. We decided to try it out
despite the warning that the Kindle Fire HD was not compatible with the application. In the case
of Sky Go, the message was correct. We installed the application without trouble, then when we
launched the application it initialized fine, then an error message displayed "Technical error
occurred........." forcing us to "Close" the application. Yet, the Sky Go application runs fine
on our Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 - both Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3, so the moral
of the story? Always try the application to see if the message is erroneous. If you need an
apk, contact us, as long as the apk developer allows us to distribute it, we will get you a copy
in an attempt to make it work. Finally, the Amazon Store does offer applications that have
been ported to the Kindle Fire HD specifically, whereas the version available on Google Play
Store have been ported to Android OS. Yes, the Kindle Fire HD is Android Ice Cream
Sandwich BUT it has many proprietary applications and hardware built in the Kindle Fire HD.
We learned that the "core" Android Jelly Bean OS does not work well on the Kindle Fire
HD (yes, we were able to install a copy) proving that the hardware has been custom made
by Amazon Development Team and will require custom drivers built specifically for this
platform. Soooooo, if you need an apk, contact us, we probably will be able to obtain a copy
for your testing and development.

Hi prokennexusa
Any chance you guys have found a 'work around' sky go apk yet???, loads of talk about it all over forums, and some have gained access or sorts by the looks, but using a convoluted:good: method of temp un root, root blockers etc etc....
Would make a whole heap of mortal bods like me happy if there is a way?
thanks for the immense work you and the guys are doing BTW, much appreciated

Goat Simulator now officially compatible!

The update posted today is now listed as compatible for Fire TV in both browser website and the Google Play app.
Since then,I've deleted my copy that I tested on Fire TV. (with great success)
My strongest apologies to those stuck without root.
Maybe evozi or apk leecher will get a new feature that can grab device specific versions of apps you own so you can grab the one set for Fire TV.
Hopefully it is designed like the original GTA3 Android with a download phase or has all of the data built into the apk itself.
The only conflict is that you need another device that can get it legitimately so you can claim certification to get it with evozi if it is even possible without root.
Let's just hope the devs can get Amazon to add it to their app store with Fire TV support so people can get it natively with no rooting required.
It would MASSIVELY boost Fire TV sales if they do!
Goat Simulator has been updated to 1.0.9 with optimizations.
Can someone please tell me how this update runs on Fire TV?

Amazon Underground and the AFTV

While the games and apps in the Underground require the Amazon Underground app to download the various apps/games, they will run just fine sideloaded on another machine.
3 I have tested:
Galaga Special Edition. Requires a touch screen interface, can work with a mouse.
R-Type II Works great with a controller.
Raiden Legacy Works great with a controller, only problem is screen is stretched.
I did try sideloading the underground app to the AFTV, but have no idea where it went after it was installed or how to call it up.
So if you missed those Fire TV compatible Free releases of some of the games, you can still get them.
Mickey Mouse castle of illusion working
I was going to ask how to download the apps. I tried downloading the above game on a cheap android phone but it didn't have enough space. The download was still on my LG L20 so I sent it to the Sd card , put in in my PC and uploaded it to Dropbox. I then opened the Dropbox all and it works great on the fire TV stick. You hold the remote sideways and the play controls work as buttons A and B. I'll see what else works.
