[Q] Pls help for the mobile AP - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 General

After i bought galaxy note, i have tried start tethering by mobile AP...
And it was fine before, but several days later. When i turn on mobile AP, it becomes error.
I have root the device and tried to find solution in the web.like copy the file of enable netfiler boot script from /res/script. However,i cant find any file called"script" in /res.
Thanks.

Have you rooted your phone with odin using netchip method?
if so it is known bug for this, you have to go back with stock firmware

Mobile AP works fine in the custom KKA "Sheep ROM v1.2" You might want to try that (no wipe required either!)

I have vannilla kka not sheep. I have wifi tethered twice (wifi AP). In both cases it was working quite well - but after about 1/2 my note crashed and rebooted. I had a wpa-psk. I'd be curious about your experiences and any settings.

I have always run Mobile AP with WPA, first on SGS and now on my Note, and I have not had any problems with either one. Your reboot might be coincidental, caused by something unrelated to AP. The only problem I have heard about was AP was not working in Netchip's custom ROM.

I was hoping it was coincidental too. Fired up my AP again and connect with laptop 15 minutes later it happened again. So it happen twice in about an hour of wifi tethering. .

Galaxy S4 problem

Dear all,
After using the S4 (Unlocked 9500) for 6 months, suddenly the phone suffered from the following:
- Network loss, not even emergency calls nor other network related matters are accessible, the phone shows the circle with the crossing line whether it has a sim card or not, I tried every single setting and none work. Also removed the micro sd.
- Flight mode can be enabled but can only be disabled from the settings and not from the startup menu
- Bluetooth cannot be disabled/enabled
- Phone not recognized by PC/ODIN even in download mode on several pcs
- Weird behavior where phone acts by itself
- Keyboard problem, you press a letter it presses the next letter and doesn't stop pressing.
- Reset phone from recovery works but clearing cache gives and error and restarts
Most probably the phone has a corrupted rom (radio/modem is lost along with several other problems) and I cannot root it and install a new rom since no access to the phone via PC/Odin and Mobile Odin needs root and root not available without PC.
Any advice?
first try a different rom, fresh install. if that doesnt work. return it and get another one.
U r using I9500 for 6 months ??? How is this possible ?

it's easy..
almost same with me & others user around the globe. Just flash stock rom, make it official.
Just send to Samsung service Centre. Normally they will do some recovery on ur device, like mine last week. Then, S4 will back to normal.

I cant access the phone since it is not recognized by the pc whether in download or normal mode even Odin cannot recognize it. Anyway to install rom directly from phone without root? or even root the phone directly from the phone without pc? If I can root from phone i might be able to install mobile odin and flash a rom.
Also phone never rooted and has stock rom.
Same happened to me, i had backups with efs-pro (all partitions ticked) and nandroid backup. But i wasn't able to recover my imei & baseband. Brought it to samsung service center. they blamed me for rooting, but they had no proof because everthing was back to normal and no cutstom counters. they told me, no problem, we wil flashed it to orginal with emei. but after 3 hours, sorry it won't work. we have to sent it to samsung and replace motherboard.
Now my biggest concern, a lot of people complaning about there lost of emei and baseband. so what's happening ?

WiFi not working on 4.3

Hello,
I installed the official stock firmware "I9505XXUEMJ5_I9505OXAEMJ5_DBT" with the new bootloader. Everything except WiFi worked well.
I tried to flash wifi fix but it didn't work. I flashed Echoe rom at least for 3 times, i flashed both odin and cwm versions of DJEMBEY's prerooted (mega) roms but I can't get it to work.
I reflashed the modem again it didn't work.
I tried odin 1.85, 3.04, 3.09. (even tried unticking auto-reboot on odin 3.09).
Whatever I did, WiFi is not working. (Bluetooth as well).
Hope someone leads me to a solution..

Try reflash the modem another time and if that still doesn't work
Code:
chmod 777 /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf

I have the smiliar wifi issue after flash the I9505XXUEMJ5_I9505OXAEMJ5_DBT stock rom.
The wifi can enable after about 1~2 minutes, but it will request me to re-input the password for wifi when I reboot the phone or disabled /enable the wifi switch.
I have tried to re-flash the stock MJ5 rom serverl time with wipe action. But it still not work.
flashed with the wifi_fix did not work either.
It seem the new bootloader have locked. I can't flash ROM from other region via odin. or downgrade to 4.2.2 ROM.
Before I flash I9505XXUEMJ5 , I use BTU-I9505XXUDMH8.
My knox flag is 1 now.
Anyone who can help me.
The F**ing bootloader.
Look at the thread in general about boot.img, there's a tip there about wifi (can't link, on mobile)

Thanks for replies but my trouble is not related with stored passwords or etc.
The trouble is although i'm on the new bootloader and flashed the original stock rom with full wipe, i can't activate wifi and bluetooth.
I don't care about the bluetooth since i don't use it but wifi is a big problem for me.
With the wifi fix i'm able sometimes to turn the wifi on but as the phone gets restarted, i can't turn on the wifi again.

hi metinrecepi,
In the thread i mentioned, it give a method to fix the wifi issue, include failing to stay on, passwords not saving, taking a long time to turn on
If you have root your device, u can edit one line in build.prop
Just have a try, if it not work, maybe u can re-do it after a full wipe.
Code:
ro.securestorage.support=true
should be
Code:
ro.securestorage.support=false
all my wifi issue have been fixed after I changed the value in build.prop.
Something isn't right if on a STOCK ROM you need to root and edit build prop to get wifi working.
I have flashed official 4.3 on my device and never had any issues with wifi or anything else. So I would suggest refreshing firmware

I have refreshed firmware servral times, but wifi still have issue.
change the build.proc will fix those issue.
May be it is a BUG in MJ5 STOCK ROM, it is popular in software development.

Maybe, I don't see how it can be a bug is software if it only effects some people though..... I've never had any wifi issues at all.
As soon as I flashed MJ5 in the set up wizard I could connect instantly and it held a good strong connection untill I stopped it.
I have a feeling it's more a router incompatibility than a Samsung software bug.

[Q] wifi not connecting

I just recently resetted my phone using odin (mf3 firmware). I had rooted before but i removed it and then reflashed the firmware.
Now my phone won't connect to my router. I've tried plugging it out then back in, and carefully typing in the password to no avail.
I don't know if it was a problem with modem file i flashed with odin, because it was the right build and for the correct device.
any help is appreciated

[Q] 3g/4g connectivity issues

Hello guys,
For the last month i have been fighting with connectivity issues on my SG4 i9505.
It starts out with just losing the connection and then getting it back, gradually over time it gets alot worse, so that it then requires using airplane mode and back to normal. along with *#*#4643#*#* disabling radio and enabling it again.
The next step is rebooting, but this does not always help, i often need to suppliment this with a cache format, which in new android versions is a real pain, exp with kitkat due to ART with it compiling. Anyway this is fare from the correct solution to do this multiple times a day.
I have also tried factory wipe, etc without luck, its the same as wiping cache with the side effect of losing my settings.
I tried getting a new simcard from a completely different carrier, this has not helped a bit, i also tried disabling 4g so that it only uses 3g (my carrier does not have 2g connectivity and on my previous carrier using 2g only did not help anything.
i started out with the XXUAME2 baseband, and i am now at XXUEMK9 and it has not helped to upgrade it.
I have been unreliable for over a month, phone calls drop, i can't reply to sms's without rebooting/wiping cache etc, asking around in diff irc channels without luck.
Does anyone have suggestions/solutions to this problem ? I really like to get my phone back up and working.

CM11 apparently does not have screenshot support yet, so i'll just manually write it in.(i am running latest nightly)
model number: GT-I9505
baseband version: I9505XXUEMK9
I am from Denmark, so the phone is unlocked.
I started out with Telenor, then Bibob and now Oister as carrier all 3 have had the same issues.
My phone came stocked with XXUAME2 so i am using the correct firmware according to varrious threads around.

1. Use Odin v3.09
2. Untick Autoreboot
3. Flash modem: HERE
4. Reboot manually into Download Mode using (Vol Down plus Home button combi)
5. Flash Modem once more
6. Once done, unplug then reboot device manually.
7. If this doesn't work, try repeating the flash process again while rebooting manually and with auto-reboot option turned off.

Hi,
I believe you have flashed a wrong baseband, try to downgrade it. I had a similar problem with mine some time ago, I was with bad signal due to an outdated baseband, then when I flashed a new one, it wasn't compatible with my bootloader... So, try checking this thread to get one better for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025.
I got my luck with the MJ5 baseband, I'm with the old bootloader too (UB).
Hope this helps,
~Lord
Hi guys, sorry for the slow reply, i had to be sure before saying if it was working or not working.
I downloaded the original rom/baseband from sammobile and tried it out, this turned out to be alot worse, due to i am unable to clear dalvik cache with the recovery clear cache.
also due to the lack of *#'*#4636#*#* it made the experiance alot worse.
the baseband i am now using is XXUEMKF with KNOX (so i am now knox 0x1)
I'm currently trying out the google edition, but looks like the issue remains.
funny thing is i do remember it working in the past with some old AOSP/AOKP version.
i'm completely lost, expecially due to its so random.
It gets to the point where i am unable to search for networks, and other times there is no issues.
Update:
Ok i've noticed something very strange, its some how tied into the wifi, when i disable wifi i lose my 3g/4g connection and when i enable it again the connection returnes quite fast. though the connection at points, can get lost again.

What Odin version are you using? Do you have installed kies 3 in your PC? If don't, install it to update the drivers and flash that 4.3 Rom you downloaded from sammobile again with Odin 3.09.
Fyi, once you had installed a4.3 knox rom, you are not able to return to a 4.2.2 stock Rom.

I am using odin 3.09 and kies 3 is installed, its been flashed many times
I've tried multiple reflashings, in fact every day last week was 2-5 flashes a day. I install my apps again and set them up each time, takes quite a long time, just to remove it again later on, got any suggestions to saving my apps and settings along with wifi ? (google restore does not work with all roms and is not always effective).
Googling my issue returns quite a few results with people that have simular issues but no solutions.

Missing "HotSpot & Tethering" / Hotspot not functioning

So, I'm having a particularly strange issue here. I recently got this Sprint Note 4 and activated it. However, there appears to be a missing option under settings. Tethering and Hotspot is straight up gone. To clarify, I have pictures attached showing the item listing, and one without it.
Clarifications of troubleshooting I've tried so far:
I have attempted a factory reset of the device
I have attempted to do a reset with ##72786#
I have tried updating Profile, PRL,
I am using a DeOdexed PH4 6.0.1 ROM. I have tried reflashing per instruction (triple wiping Cache, Dalvik, Internal, System, etc)
I have tried flashing a STOCK OTA PH4 ROM to see if it would show up there. It does not.
I called Sprint technical support to reprovision my phone. They pushed out a a reprovisioning that I accepted. No change.
At one point, Wanam/Xposed was attempted to be installed. I checked for system/csc/features.xml. It was not there
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-sprint/development/rom-stock-ph4-bloated-deodexed-t3473610/ is the custom ROM i'm using. However, it doesn't seem like a ROM specific issue.
If I use Activity Launcher or itools, i can access the actual wifi hotspot MENU (the toggle off and on, LAN settings, etc). I can enable it and the system will broadcast the SSID. However, if I try connecting to it, no devices are able to successfully connect.
here is the Activity Launcher referenced, for other readers:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66713935&postcount=7
but anyways, regarding devices not being able to connect, sometimes the data connectivity (through hotspot only, not for the entire phone) will go dead if you don't start using it immediately after first unlocking and activating tether.
in my experiences, if you keep data alive by immediately connecting a device after your first time turning tether on (after unlock) by downloading a large file or somewhat frequently reloading web pages (on the connected device!) -- anything that will keep data sending and receiving -- it will stick, and the data service to connected device issues will stop.
it's not foolproof, it's not a silver bullet, but this is the method to the madness I have learned and worked for me many times when changing roms and even getting new phones.
it's been a couple months since I had to fiddle with it last, so I can't remember if it was necessary to re-unlock after a failed attempt at keeping data alive. you might only have to toggle data off then back on for another attempt.
when I had the problem of connected devices losing internet access, it would only happen after having worked for a few seconds to a few minutes. it'd work then abruptly stop, and this is my "fix"
My issue seems more in line with the devuces failing to validate to begin with. Not losing connection.
I had something like this before, I vaguely recall it having to do with using Odin vs. OTA stock. So did you try wiping your phone completely then Odin the stock PH4 tar, or did you OTA to PH4?

The very very very first time, I OTA'd to PH4. The next two tries were wiping completely and using the PH4 tar file. So both methods have been attempted.
I was referring to loss of internet connection, not signal related. I thought that was clear, sorry

I thought you meant loss of internet connection in the sense of anti-tether provisioning from Sprint. My phone's LTE never goes down (and I am able to still browse the internet from the mobile device while tethering).
The connected devices never successfully "connect". They aren't listed as connected devices under the mobile hotspot. My other Android phone (without mobile data) is forever connecting. My macbook claims it has an assigned IP but is "unable to access the internet". So I'm not sure what the hell is going on with that.
At this point, I have restored my Note 3 as my active device until I get this resolved. I'm willing to re-write everything down to the barest metal I can.
Somebody in another topic mentioned something about PIT. I don't know anything about that sort of thing. My knowledge extends about as far as installing recovery and flashing ROMs.
I'm confident I could follow procedure, but could use a guiding hand on where to go from here.
sounds like the tether unlock method you used was not done correctly, whether by whoever made it or yourself
method 2 in Galaxy Tools should work just fine. there are several threads in the Sprint note 4 seconds that contain the apk or ppl that will pm it to you. the author discontinued the public/free version of the app and now chargers $35+ per person for a 1 time use lol once you get a copy of the free one, make copies and store on multiple devices forever.
it's primarily for Sprint Sammy devices, so you prob won't see much if anything about it here in the collective note 4 forum.
may work on some boost or even tmo, but yeah.
edit:
you'll want either 3.1.5, easy install n msl read broken on MM and less features
or 3.1.8, troublesome install with msl read working but unreliably, more features.

Just a thought and question: when you Odin stock tar to recover from this condition, are you using the rooted extended power menu to boot to download mode? Or, do you prevent the auto reboot of stock tar flash with Odin options?
A noted developer, @idone from Galaxy Tool app, once shared with me that rooted shortcut or preventing auto reboot can prevent the normal flash of Odin booting to recovery momentarily to set csc options. csc options flashed may not restore on any boots if you skip that initial auto boot.
The suggested method is to power down and pull battery for 30 seconds our more before reinserting battery and manually booting to downloaded mode. And do not uncheck auto reboot or pull battery but use Odin defaults and let phone auto boot. Doing this allows the phone to boot into recovery to do its thing briefly before booting system. I usually just let it perform the setup wizard and didn't activation just in case.
I rarely do the the data profile update or PRL because if letting the phone setup this way and phone prompts to reboot later, I believe this all done. But since this may allow ItsOn to bootstrap initialize, after flashing TWRP and backing up, I wipe internal memory and factory reset before flashing a custom ROM. Data format is optional; I don't always do that.
But if you do all that and don't see hotspot in Settings of stock, that's a problem. Maybe from dead stock, try KIES or Smart Switch to restore latest stock and check again?
