Hey guys, I have an htc hd2 that has Coredroid hd2 ver 1.6 on it....I installed this using magldr and daf .....this phone is used, but new to me, and I know nothing about this daf stuff...lol....I want to put Cyanogenmod 7 back on it...I downloaded one version but gave me errors when I tried to use magldr to get it to install...I dont recall the errors....I think some usb thing...afraid to try again...lol
Does using daf.exe in the rom file mean this is a nand configuration on the phone?.....What can I do to get cyanogenmod7 on it?.....Could someone provide me with a direct link to a rom that will work....I thought I had the right ones, but couldnt get it to flash so I chose coredroid...but phone is buggy with that and cm7 rocks.......I would really appreciate it....Sorry...I have googled and oogled all over, but I am gettting deeper in confusion....Thanks so much....Larry
try AmericanAndroid . it is based on cyanogenmod 7 and its an SD build.. really smooth and fast. i am currently using it.. i have dual boot with WP7 Nand and americanandroid on SD card with MAGLDR

i didnt like a few things about American Android where the DPI of the text was quite small which resulted in a few ugly looking interfaces such as
applications
unlock screen
menu settings etc
notifications bar
dont get me wrong, i used a build from early April 2011
i hope those are resolved by now or could be fixed, which I admit I didnt explore

I would agree as well. AmericanAndroid was my first foray into Android on my HD2 (getting my TP2 to work w/ Android at all was a huge struggle). In any event, it's a build I can use for my day-to-day work. I have everything I need working, 3G, wireless, GPS, texts, phone, gmail, Exchange email, maps, Facebook , twitter, etc...to tell you the truth I haven't gone back to WinMo since. I still like WinMo and NRG's ROM's with all the great customizations that Poyensa, Nordpolcamper,MrBeOTP2, lnando84, etc do. But I saw that I was making my phone more and more like Android, so why not just use Android? Good luck!
I have wp7 on nand and half of my sd, then dual boot sd Android build with the other half, my current build I am trying is BOYPPC honeycomb ginger thingy, developers are getting back into sd builds now the rush to nand has subsided a little, my thoughts are if you have a device capable of running two operating builds via dual boot, why not user it, NAND is just turning your hd2 into a almost hd desire but not quite, WP7 only turns your hd2 into an hd7 almost but not quite, in my many many tests and trials with my hd2 over the last year NAND and SD builds have very little differences now, in fact I find my latest sd build has a minimal unlock lag as apposed to the slightly more lag with the nands.
So really unless your an Android only or wp7 only fan or possibly a windows mobile only fan use the DUAL Force Luke...
WP7 DB Android SD then
Windows mobile 6.5.5 DB android sd next NAND android then WP7
WOULDN'T it be great if we could quad boot

You can change the LCD density to 240 easily using AmeriCanAndroid.
I remember that I did change it to 240, but still somethings was looking funny and odd , but not everything
maybe I should give this a GO again
AmeriCanAndroid SD build is stable enough. Try it.. there's FAQ which will guide you through the set up.

they've actually changed the default dpi again (to 167), but once again its adjustable.
I think it is currently the only stable (near stock) Gingerbread SD rom available?

Me too MMC GB 2.1. Everytime I use american droid I find something to throw me back. So they are not that similar. Where did you get version 3.0?
MccM HD V4.5
A few hours ago. Mr. mccmjoon76 has updated a newest version of MCCM HD v4.5. I am just downloading it and of course will give a try asap when the dl has finished!! I have tried all builds from him and I really like them, mate!!! Thanks very much to Mr. mccmjoon76
For the AmeriCanAndroid builds are very stable and smooth which I have been using since 032611! It hasn't give me much trouble except some programs will only display very small on the screen and I am sure there are ways to fix it but I just don't know how!!!
i use 3 android roms im my sd now. Americandroid is really fast and stable. its looking isnt so good but withsome widgets i have a nicer scene. second is coredroid , a desire hd build ,it is also fast and has sense. third is miui rom, its very nice but has many problems.i flashed many version of it and found a stable one. i tried almost all sd roms in xda, these three are my favourites.

Which of the miui-roms are you talking about? After (Vodafone) connection problems in a Desire rom I am looking for a new one which is stable for daily use.
Although I like sense its widgets and its stability, flashing it in my HD2 gets on my nerves. The reason is that internal memory is full and i can not use it as i could. So that the best choice for a NAND Rom is TyphooN's CyanogenMod7. What are your thoughts?
I don't like sense roms for the simple fact that I have a EU HD2 and my memory card isnt the greatest so having to use ext3/4 as part of the system usually makes my phone slow.
The roms that I use at the mo are either boyppcs CM7 rom or hyperdroid CM7. As for the sense widgets, I just use the Sense themed launcher pro

Hi,
Please check my sig...guide number 1.
You could try using the scripts in the nexushd2 thread that has the apps2sd uninstaller and the data2sd installer its easy to do and it frees up internal memory and gives you a higher quadrant score. You will need to partition SD card I used minitool partition wizard for mine, I have 2 partitions one fat32 and the other ext3.
With sense I will say...
No sense for me. Should try these 2 roms:
tytung's NexusHD2 (pure Android)
tyween's Typhoon CM7 (better Android with CyanogenMod)
Typhoon CM7 is good ,but now it have some bug .you must be install hotfix.
Nexus ROM have bugs that when you call, you can not use gprs unlessyou udate network
No Sense for me. Too resource hungry for such a limited interface. It's simple, all-inclusive, and pretty, but imo it kinda dumbs down a smart phone.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
I have to agree, while sense looks pretty, that quickly wears off but the sluggishness doesn't.
Hello,
I'm searching for the most stable and function complete android rom for the EU HD2. I searched on the forum and found some similar threads, but they are old, so maybe recent roms gained much stability.
I would prefer gingerbread and a sense UI, but if it's more stable without sense, no problem
It is more stable (and faster) without sense.
Get NDT MIUI, Typhoon or HyperDroid.
depends on what you define as stable
sense and gingerbread still has issues with the camcorder and glitches but there is a fix that disables hardware acceleration that fixes the glitches
I really root for cm7, everything is just so smooth and well functioning. I'm using launcherpro in addition, as I don't really dig the launcher it comes with. With the latest ROM I haven't had a single process being force stopped!
Sent from my HTC HD2
This is the ROM that i have on my device
Android GBLeo Build
Ist very fast, very stable and with sense
and when you want to have it smoother put a radiorom with 576MB ram hack on your device!
cm7 or ultimate droid 3.3
Cyanogenmod 7!
I will vote Cyanogenmod 7 as well and to be more specific this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1013852
Gingerbeard 2.3.5
Stable
Fast
Low battery consume (about 5-7mA)
and with some good tweaks!
Give it a try
it depends on what kind of rom you want
I for one and used many and satisfied me most is iMilk's Vision Sense v5.0
I'm testing the rom Android ROM GBLeoR3 2.3.3SENSE2.1 HD2
and so far I'm very happy you only have a small bug and Video Camcoder not 100%
Hyperdroid CM7 - best rom for EU HD2.
Fast, smooth, light and NO LAGS.
All recent sense builds lag for EU HD2
Have some one stable, fast and energy save ROM on Android 2.3.x with SENSE 3
I'm using a EU mobile and I have to say these two are the best for Simplicity, fast, Stable, and Clean ROM (my personal experience)
NexusHD2-Gingerbread V3.1a (GRK39F)(Android 2.3.6)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060
NDT GINGER V17.0 CM Nightly 2.3.5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1013852
But, the only way you are going to 'know' is if you try them out.
im using mxz miui 7 ,almost perfect

What do you think about this rom?
"[30.SEP.11][MAG/cLK] TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 Nightly v3.6.7 [2.3.5][A2SD][tytung r12.3]"
Using WP7 at the moment in think abut going back to Android... I'm undecided whether TyphooN and this Rom:
[18.Sep.11][ZIP]★★★★★HyperDroid-CM7-v3.0.1[a2sd][CyanogenMod7 LEO 2.3.5][seader_R5]

I experiment with alot of the ROMs especially trying out the new Sense 3.5 ones but I always keep a copy of NexusHD2 on my memory card as I can pretty much guarantee eventually I'll come across something that doesn't work properly and end up reverting back to it. Probably the most stable ROM out there and everything works.
Using RAfdroid with sense...works perfect!!a part for the camcorder....
Yes, its good Rom. But I need Rom with HTC Sense 3...

I'm using Typhoon CM7 and LauncherPro and have the launcher force closed sometimes - especially when I switch from an active app back to the homescreen. Otherwise, it works fine.

Thank you in advance

Depends on what you want, for Sense there are many stable versions available. Coredroid is an awesome one.
Typhoon is a great CM7 rom if you want a more stock look. I can suggest something more specific if you tell me what you want in a rom
Definitely not a stock rom but something a bit more robust with themes and great look.
also stable, all working and fast
You could check out boyppc's rom's. I tried both his GB and desire (sense) roms & they are great. He also has a miui & a sense 3 roms, but I haven't tried them.
Wet themes, I put this one on boyppc's GB & it looks great :

This one is nice if your into MIUI:

Since you familiar with Langthang releases then I would recommend MIUI ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1010498
Ever since I start using it I never looked back on CM7 ROMS, not that they are great but I need a nice GUI system over all. Just a side note - CM7 is much faster than MIUI lol
Anyway it's really what you looking for ---- pretty ROM vs Fast etc
I'm sure you will like this
Good luck
boyppc ist super

This version is quite old, should update to newer version
Newest version is V20.0 now
Upgrading to newer rom version?
Is there anyway that i can upgrade to a new rom without having to download and re-install all my apps/games etc?
Got it, all i did was rename original android folder and installed the new rom through AD recovery. All is there and functioning

Not sure if you've already seen these, but here are some step by step tutorials (posted on the Typhoon rom thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951) on how to do clean installs and installs where you keep your data. Sounds like you pretty much worked it out already, tho!
http://www.multiupload.com/YJJ4J8BXU8 - update ROM and CWM + restore data
http://www.multiupload.com/AJN2KWMEL5 - update ROM + restore data
http://www.multiupload.com/R2PYG1Z00U - clean installation.
I've found these very helpful.
Other way to keep old data/apps is to use Titanium back up, tho this can be tedious if you have a lot of apps.
AmeriCan Android is what I use for almost a year and never had complains.
Thank you
Thank you all for your input and assistance on my questions.

Hey, I have a HD2.. And i am new to this forum.
I would like to know i have an spl version of 3.03 something. I want to get android on my phone. the last conversion i did was very unstable. sometimes the dialler didnt work. my signals stopped dropping. apps started to crash.
So this time i want to do the most stable android installation. which i can easily revert back also.
So please help me with this. I dont want it to lag or anything. apps shud run fine. no issue with singals and diallers etc.
Do u want it on NAND (internal memory) or on the SD card?
For both i recommend the Tytung kernel and mod its a great and stable one, i use ics 4.0.4 with kernel 3,2 and cm 9 -rhc2. i use Nand but also its possible in SD. view the treaths.

any ICS ROM can play 720p video ? i tryed some ROM but all of them not work
my favorit is this fast and stable for everyday use

Typhoon or Hyperdroid have been the fastest builds I've ever used. Haven't seen a bug in months too.

It is fast, stable, and Sense 3.5 (the latter is essential for me ).
I used NexusHD2 builds for some time and I really like them. Tytung also releases frequent updates to its kernel as well which were always nice improvement :good:
