(READ BEFORE TRYING)Some answers to questions

Ok people a slight helpful guide here, may have already been created but its here regardless
This will also be posted in Q&A under answers just to help people out
So in the Q&A forum i have seen a lot of the same question, my X10 is stuck at boot, which yeah happens but it seems to be for the same reason due to kernel or mod damage so what can you do?
i will also answer from experience on other questions
No1. READ the requirements...
These are the requirements for the ROM i use (DiXperia7 Avenger from DikeJ), (They generally follow same lines but dont suspect they do.)
OS - Android 2.3 or 2.1 (from upgrade from 2.1 to 2.3 wipe will be needed)
Permissions - Root Access, Busy Box, Xrecovery (Kernels for Stock roms not CM series)
Optional - Unlocked bootloader running DoomKernel v6 or above. Seeing as this seems to be final edition from the great doomlord we shal settle there.
So as you can see some simple requirements laid out nicely, bootloops and boot freezes can normally relate to Kernels installed, if theres a problem it wont install or freeze anyways but normally a ROM freeze is picked up before its released.
On locked bootloaders you wont have this problem as long as the ROM supports this. The dev will normally tell you what you need if not ask.
No2. ASK!
of course i am trying to help less skilled people, like me, avoid bootloops and crashes. so always as on the dev forum and wait for a reply, chances are its been tested but if your unsure dont do it until you know 100% and a dev or someone with experience has tested personally.
No3. Make sure your using the correct recovery.
It works like this.
Stock ROM - Xrecovery (DoomKernel ThKernel)
Cyanogenmod series - Clockwork Recovery mod (In FXP Kernels)
MIUI Series - Can be both but seems mainly Clockwork
championswimmer has done a custom version of both CWM and Stock - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1564056 credits go to champ.
So enough about Kernels and blah blah xD lets move onto Wifi Troubles
Wifi runs using the Kernel, Unlocked bootloaders need a patch to run Wifi unless its FXP based.
These files are generally found with the kernel on the forums. Known as wifi modules.
You can flash these patches before 1st boot but its not recommended. needs to be reinstalled every time you flash a rom as there wiped out..
(Please make sure the wifi patch is correct to the kernel as a wrong one will not fix wifi errors)
Random Reboots while phone is on.
Ok i dont know highly on this subject but i do remember reading a little about them..
Random reboots can be caused due to hardware failure, normally motherboard crashes, just restart the phone by removing battery normally works.
Another factor of this is a mod that has been installed. If the mod is not designed for your phone it will normally cause a bootloop at kernel but if it gets pasted this could be a cause of your problems.
SuperUser detection not working :S?
I had this problem, SU was stopping my root programs getting there access, but sometimes the app isnt at fault, its your actual root, simply rerooting fixes this .
Ok people i hope this helps just to help new users out on problems, although as always i wont be held responsible for any damages.

You either can post this in General section. Why did you create a thread which is development not related
Your thread will be moving soon.
And thread is moved to General.
Folks, if it's not development, or doesn't contain development work, please post your information in the General Forum.
Cheers!

little problem here
I just installed AELKernel-6.3-Mainline on my i9505 with I9505XXUGNG8 official newest rom. Synapse tell me "No UCI support detected" and STweaks aplying settings with "$" instead of values. He cant read default values too. I reinstalled kernel once again. Still same situation. Any solutions?
Performance
Hi.
I installed this kernel in my i9505 a days ago. All was fine. But for curiosity, tested Antutu benchmark 5 to see the results. With superlative (162mhz - 2.1ghz) the results with everything closed, ram cleaned and wifi and data turned off are between 26xxx and 28000... Under stock normal values. With mainline i can have 29xxx values.... I thunk that it is not jormal... overclocked phone have worst values than stock phone... I tried othet governors andhad the same values... Is something wrong?
hello guys, I have the carhdrom 4.4.4 with ael v6.3 everything works but the wifi is not connected to the lina falls all the time, so we improve it

edit -- dont worry, i stopped being a little fairy, backed up using TWRP and selected the MAIN option, not the Super. Seems to have installed fine and now im pulling more charge from usb. LEGENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See, even an idiot can use this, good work peeps!
Hello,
Just to point out from the start, i have no full understanding of what im doing!?!?!
Im trying to achieve improved charging over the usb (as i use my S4 with an MHL adapter in the car and am losing charge). From what i have read, this kernel is exactly what i need.
I have installed TWRP recovery and tried to install the kernel zip file. However, i am then given two options to install, one was superlative and i forget the name of the other. Do i install both or just one of them? If its just one then which one? I apologise if this is a stupid question, i have done some extensive research online but i think my lack of understanding is creating more confusion.
If anyone can dumb down the installation process it would be sincerely appreciated. I am using the stock ROM too (rooted with CFRoot).
p.s. i appreciate that due to the fact that i dont fully understand this then i shouldnt be messing around with the kernel, however i am desperate for a faster charge.
Please help kind people!!
Is kernel update 5.0

Use universel kernels script cleaner http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2492144 superlative you can oc up to 2.1 mhz and uc down to 162 mhz and the mainline kernel you can't my friend use what ever you want.
So basically flash the kernel script in recovery then mainline or superlative kernel reboot

Usage on CM12
Hi guys, have someone tested it on CM12? I'm now on the CM12 using the stock kernel, but after long time of standby the N7 starts lagging very hard (sometimes for entire minutes) and needs a reboot. I tried the carcosa on the Synman GwT ROM and I appreciate so much, if it could improve the performance of the CM12 it will be perfect!
Thanks to all!
I have CM12 too and I would absolutely suggest you to flash the carcosa kermel: with standard kernel antutu result was very very near 20.000 +something like 19.670)c while with carcosa, with no particular settings changed with Trickster, I do 24.000
Very good result if we think at the age of our device.
Obviously not all lags are gone, but I would never come back to cm stock kernel!

carcosa-kernel a35 build - is it possible to use it with Android 4.4.4 and 5.1.1?
a35 should work with 5.1.1, though I haven't tested it. I do not know whether it will work on 4.4.4 -- it's built from the sources released with 5.1. This is an anykernel package, and there were not many kernel changes, so it *may* still work on 4.4.4. I would be very sure you have a backup of your boot partition if you want to try it.
overclock
Hi, I tried the carcosa kernel in my N7 2012. The only reason why I installed was the battery drain during airplane mode. I don't need the CPU/GPU overclock. Is there any possibility to lower the max freq? I tried some apps to do that, but the 1600MHz mode didn't disappear. My gadget warms up, and when I use it (not in deep sleep) the battery exhausts faster than in the stock frequency (1300MHz).
Balázs
You should be able to set the CPU frequency back to stock with TricksterMod, which works for me.

led control
Thanks for your amazing kernel. Are you going to enable the led control settings?
On my list for the future, yes.
I tried a lot of kernels for my s5 and got 45k max with ktoon's kernel but this one is just perfect like the battey life is great for the cpu speed that i'm using and i got 47400 points on antutu and it's stable no lag, the features are amazing i love you man keep up the good work don't stop this project.
EDIT= With phone in the fridge i'm getting 49.5k antutu
Guys, I am on a business trip the next 5 days now. Away from my development box. I will follow the thread and answer questions with delays. However I cannot provide any new builds during the next 5 days.
Enjoy the free time ?

Is running perfect with me!
I confess that I am fully satisfied.
Thanks.
Phone Heating
hi guys, after i flashed this kernel, it seems get heats all the time.
Is there any solutions to solve this?
Thanks guy.
Check if a process is running wild and if your phone enters deep sleep.
Return to default settings if you configured the kernel already.

Alright, i haven't configured the kernel yet, so i assumed that it's on the default settings.
I will try it once again tonight, let's see the results and i will update you if there is any error occured.
Thank you very much, bro.

I wonder why you ask that in a kernel thread.
If you have an EFS backup, try to restore.
Or flash another modem.
I have no clue why your IMEI is null.
Andi
So far the "Governor Nightmare / Profile Standard" combination with "Scheduler Tripndroid" this very good. Would anyone have any other opinion?
I also use this for my tests... Quite happy too...

working Screen Mirroring
Hello! Installed the latest version of your kernel, and there was a problem I stopped working Screen Mirroring and S Health. How to solve this problem or this is unsolvable?I'm sorry used Google Translation.Thank you.
For s-health you need to clear the app data once in app manager.
Mirror I don't know. Never tried.
But likely this gets broken with custom kernels thanks to Samsung limitations.
Be sure to use latest beta of kernel!

Hello
You know what settings are good every day, and what to play ?
I'm looking for the optimum governor.
With stock kernel my battery lasts day and a half with this kernel default settings the same. What to do to improve battery life for half a day to have 2 days without losing performances?

Nothing. Miracles are not yet possible.
Either performance, or power. This is pure physics.
You have to compromise.
Andi
Same thing i get with power save option
Yes. If saving battery is all you want, you don't need custom roms or custom kernels necessarily.
