Download speed

Anybody notice the difference between roms? I get 5mbps on stock roms and 1.5 on cm7 with build.prop edited. I love cm7, but need the download speed more.

Anybody have a copy of the stock build.prop so we can see if any tmous specific settings need to be moved over to the cm7 rom build.prop?

I notice that you only have 13 posts. That means it only took you 2 posts after your first 10 to make this thread in the wrong section with a QUESTION that is discussed daily in the CM7 nightly and RC threads. Please follow the rules and think before you post a question like this in the wrong section. Maybe visit the threads or the CM7 FAQ for answers to your questions.
Sorry. I thought that because it was a Rom question it was to be posted in the development forum. I will be more careful in the future. Thanks for keeping everything running smoothly.

[Q] ROM Manager for Defy

Hello, ok I've rooted my droid using superoneclick like just yesterday and I came across the app while I was checking the app store called ROM Manager.
According to this I wont have to do the complex flashing process which might brick my phone [ this is like my first time doing any of this].
So if I do use this app would I be able to get the stable version of cm9? is it possible and would it work just as well as the other process?
Could someone share a guide on how to go about this please?

just read my signature ,,, it has all u need ;D
Questions go in the Q&A section

Where do I go from here???

Hey people! I purchased my Defy from someone on craigslist. The model is mb525 and I think its already rooted because it has the super user app already on it. I would like to update my defy to the latest problem free rom for daily usage but I really don't know what's done to it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

That's a very basic question, so I would suggest searching and reading, reading, reading.
Moved to Q&A. Please post all questions there.

Find out if it's green or red lens defy.
Find out what kernel it currently runs and what version of Android.
You can try CM7 for installation and you can move along with new ROMS as and when you get experience. PM me if you need help.

You have to read man, and be very careful wich ROM will u flash. Read this Post, it is very useful http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966537
Naa...you don`t have tor read that much. It is pretty simple:
1. Check if you have bootmenu already installed (reboot; led should turn blue after a few seconds while moto logo is displayed). If not, just install it.
2. Find out what lens does your defy have (red/green) and what kernel is it using - as premaca has already mentioned. Settings>About Phone> Kernel Version. If it ends up in (...droid)07, 12 or 50 it is froyo kernel. If not it is GB kernel.
3. Decide what rom you want (cm10/9/7, MIUI...etc. Most of them work very good) I can`t help you here. It`s all about your taste. (I consider that cm7 is the most stable and powerful rom at this moment but just by a small margin.)
4. Follow installation guide for each ROM according to what lens you have (red/green). (I am pretty sure each developer described how to install his ROM)
Good luck!

[Q] Safe way of flashing rom to mb525. Please help!

Hello developers.
Can someone help me? I am 14 yrs and I am a newbie to rooting, hacking, etc.
I have rooted my stock Motorola Defy MB525 and now I want to install ICS or JB to my phone.
I am scared as I wont get another device if I brick this device but I want some updated os on my phone badly
I have not used any apps that use root access as I am pretty much scared that my phone could get bricked.
Can someone please give me a fully detailed and perfectly safe newbie guide along with downloads to install Ice Cream Sandwich
to my stock froyo rom on my Motorola Defy?
Thank you all in advance.

Helping My Mom with her LG L7

Hey guys, so I noticed my moms phone after 2 years got really laggy and I didn't like it, I'm experienced with rooting and flashing but its better to ask help from you guys.
First of all her phone is a LG Optimus L7 (Not II)
The baseband is 10e, I read that JB is 20e(?)
Heres a summary of what I need to do:
-Flash JB (20e?)(Can you provide a link?
-Root
-Flash a Custom ROM
About the Custom ROM, if you guys could provide your own opinion, for daily use only, and if possible, the latest OS, Kitkat.
Many thanks guys. )

For kitkat:
I'm using carbon rom, but also recommend cm11 from @cr3pt it's really stable for daily use.
Just read the last 3 pages in users comments die feedback.

My recommendation, don't use latest Android, yet. Because stability problem and speed problem, too
Use something stabler, like CM10 (Jellybean). So, you don't have to upgrade to v20 to flash it.

Yup your right, but he's asking for kk.
If you want to stick with cm10, flash slimbean with phenom kernel.
This is really good.
