Hey guys. I am facing a weird problem.
A little background first. I have the u8800 pro. When i bought the phone, the internal storage space was from what i recall 900+MB(almost 1 GB) and was available to me. I installed some apps, a few days passed and then i saw that an update was out(official 2.3 from huawei website). At this time, i had about 700+MB available.
I did the update, everything went fine but after i installed THE SAME apps i had before(through the huawei backup app) i noticed that now the available internal storage space was reduced by 150MB(about 550 total).
So today i decided to do a wipe data/factory reset to free some space because i thought that the "missing" 150 MBs were "garbage" left from the previous installation.
I did the reset , and i noticed that i had only 470 MB available.Without installing anything. I had a "clean" phone, only with the stock apps and i expected that i would have again all of 900+MB available. I did another factory reset, back to back, and when i turned on the phone, the storage reduced even more, now at 420 MB! And after the installation of all the other apps i had before, there is only 200MB storage.
What the hell is going on? Is there a solution?
One thing could worth trying: Re-install the 2.3. Download it from Huawei and install it. If you dont want to try it, you can go to the store that sold it to you and ask them. If you go to store, it will probably be sent to warranty for repair.
I installed DiskUsage from market and the results it shows me are:
Applications 135 MB
System Data 560MB!
560 MB for system data seem A LOT to me...
I did a clean installation of 2.3 again, but the storage now, is even lower. With NO 3rd party app installed, 320 MB available.
In that case, restore stock rom and take it to warranty. We cant do anything to it here.
Could you please tell me how to restore stock rom?I already have it, i just dont know how to flash it.
(I , now, have rooted phone if it makes any difference).
did you resolve the issue? can u tell me?

Ok before u send me to another topic or tell me to install App2SD read first please!
So the problem - mainly i have problems with the low memory on the phone but... the last problem happend when i tried to install Google +. So the app is about 10 MB wich measn it needs around 20MB (download and install) so I freed around 27MB but still install failed saing not enough memory. After that the MB for the install went away the 10 MB for the install (I presume) went missing, meaning i have that 10MB less from my storage.
Well that problem hapened also before but not with so many MBs. Little by little i am losing memory and now I have very little. I tried 1click cashe cleaner, App2Sd and some other but those 10Mb went into the unknown.
So PLEASE!!! If someone knowes how to fix this (best without installing new rom or hacking my phone) please do tell me becouse I am getting really mad here. Thank U!
Btw i am using Android 2.2.1
Apparently this resolves itself after a reboot, because I had a broken install of Opera Mobile and didn't get the storage back. A couple of days later the battery died so it promptly got charged and rebooted. After it "settled" (all apps appear in the launcher, icons return to normal) I looked at the available storage and some 15MiB was freed so it was no longer hungry for available storage.
Didn't help. Also removed the battery and waited but still nothing!
Can you still uninstall any packages?
Yes I can but have removed almost everything from the phone as apps i have only youtube and gmail now everything else is on sd wich is not much at all
Do you have a nandroid backup? Titanium backup? Anything?

how to do that?
Boot into recovery, then depending on version it will be in wipe or advanced option. Wipe/clear dalvik cache.
?? are you rooted ?? With custom recovery??
If not then ignore my post cos dalvik can't be wiped this way on unrooted phone. Your gonna have to factory reset to totally clear, sorry.

Well tx mate but as i sad i am using original sense rom i do not belive i have the option to
Check your HBOOT version, there's a chance you can still install CWM.
Well as it seems for everyone who has that problem - factory reset! Nothing else works
Alright, I am seriously about fed up with this phone. So earlier in the week, I rooted my T-Mo G2. Cool, no problems there. A day or so later I pushed TWRP to it. Good stuff, all fun. Now, since I flashed TWRP I have not been able to flash a ROM. I have tried every ROM available for my model, and they either flash successfully (supposedly) and then I reboot to a black screen after the LG splash screen or they say "Install Failed". So I gave up on the new ROM idea and restored my nandroid backup that I had made before I tried to do my first ROM install. Everything restored correctly and I thought I was on my merry way until my daily market updates came. I got an insufficient storage error on all my updates. Curious considering I have 8.3 GB of free storage yet. Ok, I play along and delete some of my large game apps, 1GB and up to free up another 3 gigs. Guess what I try to download any app and it says insufficient storage. Any help here would be appreciated before I decide to put the insurance (that the T-Mobile girl talked me into) to work.
UPDATE:
So I went back into TWRP, wiped everything with the advanced wipe and restored my nandroid backup again. This seems to have resolved the insufficient storage issue, now for the not being able to flash a new ROM issue.
If it happens again just clear the cache/data of the playstore app. That's worked for similar, issues on other phones.

I had a weird issue today. I tried to update a couple apps just because i checked in play store for updates. Nothing special. I hit the update all button and left the phone alone for a while.
When i got back, i got the message for every app which needed update, that there is not enough space available. I was shocked, since i knew i had a ton of memory left.
And after a check i found that i have around 7 gb free on the internal storage...
i tried to update the apps again one by one. but every app stops downloading at a certain percentage and its diffrent for every app which need an update.
if i stop the update process and redo it, the download will stop at the exact same position again. its the same percentage and also memory.
I already cleared cache and data of google play store. still nothing.
i wiped cache in stock recovery (no custom recovery installed, but rooted)
and still the same.
I also tried to uninstall one of this apps and reinstall it again, stops at the same point as before and now i cant even install it anymore....
what can i do?
Hi, I recently was on paranoid android and was getting ready to sell my galaxy s4 I9505 so restored a back up I made of the stock rom which was what came on the phone when I bought it.
I restored the back up, but once the phone had booted it was really slow and I kept getting loads of error messages saying different processes had kept failing. The same as in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...restoring-stock-rom-cwm-t2882455#post55566370
I then booted back into recovery and wiped data and dalvik cache, which after rebooting sorted the problem. The device was running smoothly and so I went on downloading my apps from the play store.
But I've since noticed apps like swift key, instagram, whatsapp and snap chat seem to be having issues. I don't have any SD card installed just the phones internal memory, which I have ample space (9GB) but whatsapp won't let me download images.
Snapchat says I need to install an sd before viewing video and Instgram mentions I need an SD before being able to take a picture.
Also the language pack for Swiftkey won't download and when I try and download a theme it says it can't save it.
So it seems there's something wrong with the way it's trying to store certain files. Has anyone else come across this yet?
I'm planning on following the whole unroot process anyway documented here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477 which I'm hoping will fix it.
But I wondered if anyone knew what it is that's caused it?

Did you install the stock rom before or have you just restored your old backup?
If I were you, I would clean everything, install the stock sammy firmware (with latest base) and after that restore your backup

No it's not a rom, I just restored my old back up of my OS before I started flashing any custom roms.
I did a factory reset on the phone hoping it might resolve it. Which hasn't, but I'm not sure now if it's got rid of CWM. Would as I can't seem to get it to boot into recovery (it maybe just me not releasing the volume up button at the right time).
Think I'm going to have to flash a clean stock firmware following the unroot process and hope that fixes it.
Hello,
I have a Zenfone 3 Max I guess ( serie in the back X008D), which is lagging so much, I tried many factory resets but nothing improved.
While browsing settings I found that space used by the root is full, 7.98/7.98 Gb i think the problem is from this.
Is there any method how to reinstall the whole system, or rooting it if it can help solve this issue.
I searched in google and asus forum but I found nothing..
thanks in advance.

are you referring to what you see available in the "storage settings" page? My system reserved storage is 11.34/11.34gb and my phone doesn't lag. Click on "internal shared storage" and "clear cached data" if you are low on space there as well.
When did it start lagging? Backup all your apps with titanium backup and then uninstall them one by one and see which was causing the issue. Or just do a factory reset and then load your apps back one by one and see which causes it to lag.
Or is your phone lagging with just the base stock Rom and no other apps on it?
No issue
We have a the same exact phone model.
And i have no problem at all.
What u saw is normal
So i think that is not the problem.
the storage isn't the problem

Thanks, I have the same storage in your picture, we've confirmed that the storage isn't the problem, one step ahead.

I just bought the phone, it was used, I like the phone I'll try some fixes before returning it.
I cleared the cache and it's still lagging.
Yes it's lagging with the stock ROM I guess (all ASUS apps are installed in it), there is no other app but stock app installed in it, lagging isn't caused by my installed apps.
RAM always have 1.5 - 2 Gb free.
I guess it's a CPU is failing.
Thanks guys for the help.
If there is anything else I can do before returning the phone to the seller please advise me ? I kinda liked the phone and it was a good deal.
I think ASUS made some mistakes on their latest update : https://www.asus.com/zentalk/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=164682&extra=page=1&filter=&sid=1|8
Is there a way how to get back to an older version of Android 6 ?

you can "freeze" Asus' bloatware apps by following this guide and you don't need root to do it.

since your boot loader is locked, it's a little more difficult to downgrade. Try freezing the apps first. I believe you need to flash the recovery image from the firmware version you want to flash, then you can downgrade to the stock firmware. Its been a long time since in had a locked boot loader, lol
