Tap Tap Revenge (Tap Studio) - Optimus One, P500, V Themes and Apps

I don't know if you have played Tap Tap Revenge on iPhone or Android before, or played the beautiful game Tap Studio for iPhone where you can make your own taps for your songs. I've found a similar game to Tap Studio for Android. It is called Music Factory and is available in the market for FREE!!!
Here's the link: https://market.android.com/details?...51bGwsMSwxLDEwMiwiY29tLmFwaWppLm11c2ljX2VuIl0.

What a joke ;p
Wow man.. I think you are finder of year... ;p
The is also 4 similar apps to taptap.. (2 GH, finger dance, tapmania)
What is more this have problems with multitiuch i think... (maybe i was not accurate).
Taptap is still better than others app i think this one have better music (not loopysound)
But keep searching
Cheers

I know there are plenty of similar apps to TTR4, but it doesn't run with high performance. There are not many apps similar to the Tap Studio, where you can make your own taps to your own songs on your SD Card. It doesn't have multitouch problems.

[Q] Multitouch drum apps...

Just a simple question..
I've seen the iPad2 working with Drum Meister or something. Damn, it plays flawlessly, I can play like a real drum set, real amazing.
So I have this Atrix. Gingerbread 2.3.6 and with a modified touch file for 4 simultaneous touch detection. Not really sure if that's the culprit, as on the multitouch keyboard it works normally at my fast typing (and on the touch visualizer program), but when I play the drums on any of my drum apps (DroiDrum, Drum Set and DrumKit), it seems like the multitouch feature is failing.
I can do two simultaneous moves, even four instruments at once, but i cant play two or more instruments, like this video
It skips some touches, some instruments just refuse to play while I'm touching another one (like if I press and hold one), but if I hit them together, they play together.
Is that a bad app programming, or a android/touch limitation/issue?
If i had to guess, i'd say it's probably more along the lines of app programming more than it is a limitation with multi-touch on Android devices. It could also be having the mod to enable more touches to be recognized. I'm sure it helps to have that mod in some scenario's... but i'm pretty sure apps aren't really designed around the idea of having more than two or three touch inputs at once recognized, simply because of screen real estate. That's probably the main reason why devices like the iPad, or even the Motorola XyBoard or Xoom support more than two or three finger multi-touch.
I too am a lover of bangin on my black classic maple Ludwig set and gotta say i have searched and searched but no android app competes with the one on ios....
Try the reaindropfix. our beloved atrix go crazy if u continue to press screen for more then 15 sec.

Nope, but it'll sure fix a bug I was experiencing when playing multitouch games

Switched from iPhone to SG3 - questions to more experienced android users.

Hi, I got Galaxy S3 after four years of using iOS. I really like the phone, SD card slot, and fantastic screen but I'm missing few features. I am sure that with open'ness of Android, someone has already made these things.
1. Music Player - when I scroll the album list, album covers seem to load on scroll, instead of being cached somewhere and appearing immediately - can it be fixed? Or maybe there is a different music player that is better?
2. I have used Easy Phone Sync to sync S3 with iTunes, but some albums got split into several albums - is there any way to edit tags of songs that are on S3 using Kies?
3. When I double click home button on a locked iphone, an iPod menu comes up, allowing me quick switching of songs - anything similar on android?
4. When syncing with iPhone backup, I copied over all of the photos, in the gallery they got split into two folders, 100APPLE and 101APPLE, is it possible to somhow combine them? I can't see folders with photos when I access the phone through My Computer
5. Any other good tips for a newcomer?

Which music app are you using?
For the quick control there is none unless you exit out the app, drag notification down and you will see some quick controls depending on app
I would not be able to tell you much about the albums, hasn't happen with me before
Download es explorer and move the pictures on your phone (kind of like you would on your pc/mac)
Have some patient you were open enough to buy a new device so make sure you try as much as you can before those 14 days, read a lot in the forums you will learn a lot

Hi, thanks for the reply! I'm using the stock application, you recommend a different one? While we are at it, can you recommend some other good applications to replace stock ones? Downloading es explorer

I read the OP and I was hesitant to reply - the questions were kind of naive and seemed almost troll like -
Album covers load on scroll - maybe standard android apps can't even do it. The loading of covers is fast enough not to bother me, but that's just me, being used to android lagginess on a flagship phone.
Itunes... Well, welcome here in the slavery free zone. If you can burn Itunes, please do so. Otherwise, please use some playstore app to do it for you.
There are a number of apps and utils that modify default android behavior. I wouldn't be surprised if you could set it up to call your mother in law every time the power button was pressed.
You can copy/paste/delete and do any file operations with android files - you have a full featured file system, just install an app like ES File Explorer.
poweramp is good for music. As for the merging of folders, do it manually by connecting a usb to your phone and manage it on your computer.

There is a lot music apps out there I use play music from Google to have cloud music, and usually power amp is my favorite one, the one thing coming from iOS to android is the yes android you can modify more but you need more time, watch videos on YouTube, learn about what limitations it could have, I think is funny I switch back to android back in May and I haven't used an iphone for 2 months yesterday my wife told me to text something while #he was driving and I felt the screen so small, it was hard to type at first lol
Stock keyboard sucks try ics keyboard is free
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vllwp.inputmethod.latin
And if you really feel like typing is worth $2-3 you can buy Swiftkey 3 best keyboard so far IMO

Definitely try swiftkey 3, or Swype beta

Most definitely try SwiftKey out... A few tips if you do.... go into settings and put when double tap space just insert space. And I also lower the time to longpress (access the secondary buttons like numbers and symbols) to like 200 - 250 milliseconds makes things much faster.

Welcome to the family! I to came to android from ios... about a year and a half ago though. Android can seem a bit foreign at first but research and ask questions and before you know it, you will wonder why it took you so long to switch. This much I will say, apple is set up as they want it to be and is usually better out of the box... however, with a little fine tuning your android will run circles around any iPhone. These can do so much more than what you can imagine, keep up with it and you will not be disappointed.
Power amp is a sweet music player btw.
I prefer Skype to swift key but I think that's a matter of taste.
Es explorer is great... also check out root explorer if you ever get root.

Ok this was a productive day ^^ I have installed:
QuickPic: instead of the stock Gallery app. Drawback is that it does not show picasa web albums, but there are advantages: smoother operation, can switch files via swiping while zoomed in, and can sort files by filename.
Poweramp: I like it a lot more than the stock music app, looks much better, and songs are put together into albums, wheras the stock app had problems with albums consisting of songs by different artists.
ES File Explorer: Something like iFile on the jailbroken iPhone, useful
I also found the pictures folder, it's fine now
Also: ordering installs of apps to my phone via internet browser: awesome
I have still one problem: in the Messagess app, after importing messages from the iPhone backup, every message is repeated twice, and they are put in the opposite sides - i.e. messages I have received appear as sent by me. Anyone knows how to remove messages only and then sync messages only?
I can see you guys talking about keyboard apps - I thought something like swype is already installed?
Number 1 download poweramp so worth $5
Number 2 im not quite sure about any backup apps i use dropbox
Number 3 poweramp has a player in the drop down bar so unlock phone slide it down oh and poweramp also has a lockscreen player as well

I really like SwiftKey 3. Used it for a long time now. It actually learns what you type and customizes the predictions. For example, if you type everyday "Whats for dinner tonight?" after a while as soon as you type W the word Whats is going to come up. After the it's automatically going to suggest the next word is "for" without typing anything.
Look into lock screen music controls and which apps offer it. On AOKP ROM there are controls built in. While listening to music with the screen off you can long press the volume buttons to go to the previous or next track. Short presses on the volume raises and lowers the volume. Long pressing the power button SHOULD also pause the track. Long pressing it again should resume the track.
The biggest thing on Android to remember is that everything can be customized. Don't like the stock text message app? Install a different one. Different icons? Get new ones.
Luckily you came from a jailbroken iPhone which I can imagine helps a lot.
Oh...and you can also uninstall programs from the online Play Store now. Makes it awesome after you install a new ROM which is something else you will eventually get into.
Oh and don't forget you can upload up to 20000 to Google Music that you can access anywhere from any browser. You can also stream straight to your phone and any other Android device. I think I have almost all of my music uploaded and I don't think I'm even halfway to 20,000 songs.
And the free 5GB of storage space that Google offers with Google Drive.

Videos vs WMP + Mail + General Thoughs

Hi,
did you notice (perhaps you know why) there is such a massive difference in video playback by those 2 apps.
I have downloaded k-lite codecs (dont know if this is a good choice for W8 but) and under WMP I got no issues, dvd rip, mkv (720p) runs smoothly - no problem (stream form NAS storage). Under Videos app in Modern UI dvd rip (same file, same NAS) was not watchable. I had sound but move turned into still, refreshed every 6-10 s.
Also, built in Mail app (even compared to old Outlook Express or Live Mail) is terrible.
General thoughts.
System is great, I like everything, even Modern UI makes sense, but (there always is a "but")
Microsoft should treat Modern UI as an optional thing. I mean for all devices with touch screen it does make sense. It completes the UI we can use desktop when we want to or have a keyboard attached but when not... Modern UI is great help
Again, for traditional laptops/desktop it makes no sense. I would make it optional to use with an option to switch it of completely.
When one is using mouse and keyboard so far I did not notice any gains from Modern UI.
I have a laptop, and I just treat the modern ui as a super functional start menu. It can do everything the old start menu can, and I use apps that can run in the background, like weather, news, messenger, and iHeartRadio/music. With a simple swipe to the right on my trackpad I can easily switch between them.
I know that the majority of apps for the modern ui are designed to be used as primary applications to get stuff done, but that doesn't work on a full computer. Instead I just ignore that and realize that tablets and pcs have the same app store.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2
BTW: Is WMP working for you in the background when you move on to Modern UI/Start screen?
I have Win7 right now booted (and HDD with W8 is unplugged) but I think I have noticed something about it...
Same with streaming movie on web site... if you go to do something else I think it stops - got to check it again.

I understand what you say.. still on traditional desktop with mouse it seems to me that just having Desktop mode + traditional start would be more efficient.
I see the problem MS had... "If we leave Metro UI out of desktops and laptops (or leave it as an option) how do we make users buy Metro apps?". But I guess this is wrong way of thinking.
If you will own a touch screen device with W8 and you boy stuff it should appear on all your devices (right) [btw: will Metro apps show up on WP8 as well???] , so it would be on "Desktop device" redy to use if one will want to do so.
But if you mainly work in desktop mode on Desktop device why would you want/need to use any Metro app anyway/ in the first place/at all?
Even as it is ppl. will not use it in other way than start.

side stepping the paid/free differences
The problem with wifi for this is that TCP sucks big time! there is so much redundancy built in for error checking that for anything like this, the slightest hiccup can just make it feel laggy and generally crap compared to using the real thing., ive tried to use similar programs for years and they all just annoy the buggery out of me after a while
Bluetooth offers a better solution but would have limited range and still isn't perfect, also bare in mind that everything under the sun uses 2.4GHz meaning a next door neighbours cordless phone can give you a headache too.
its just food for thought, perhaps you may live in a faraday cage and have no issues with interference, dropped packets and don't mind the slight lag that cant be removed, but not everyone is in such a fortunate position.
a Bluetooth option would be cool and of course a WP version for the grown ups
something's to keep in mind for the masses
Tempting ....
I just gave the Free "try it out app" a whirl.
I have an older laptop with non-multi touch touchpad so I was really excited about this app.
I have to echo the request for a bluetooth version of the app as well, there was definitely some odd lag going on ...
... But I can't be sure the lag wasn't being caused by the cascade of "This feature is only available in the paid version" messages I was getting.
Look, I think this app could be awesome, and I would happily pay for it, if I thought that it would work well enough to use daily. However, the experience on the Free app is really bad due to the restrictions. I understand not wanting to give away your work for free, but I think that the Free app paints a very unflattering picture of what the Full Version might be.
You may want to consider re-vamping the Free version, allowing for fewer restrictions or going to a 30 day trial, or just look at the code for how it displays the nag-message.
I'm not trying to be mean or rude, I think its a great idea, but when I say "cascade" of nag-messages I am being literal. There was a backlog of messages after closing the app so that for the next minute and a half I had "This feature ..." flashing on my home screen even after closing the app.
Good luck and I look forward to trying this again in a month or two!
I just gave the paid version a try and I'm not having any lag. It's very smooth. I haven't had a chance to dig too deeply into it, but so far it's very nice.
Anyway, whatever you do, don't drop the ball on this. Routinely I buy a paid app from a dev here and the development goes stagnant. There's a ton of potential for this app, please keep going!

[Q] Phone Setup Suggestions

Everyone should be getting their phone in the next few days. I am coming from iOS so I am not 100% sure about all of androids apps and features. I have spent a lot of time in the last month learning as much as I could about switching over but I would like to get some opinions from everyone. I hope this will also help any other novice users get the most out of the note 3.
1. Are you going to use a launcher .. if so which one? why?
2. What apps will make using the note more enjoyable/easier?
3. What apps can I wow people with a demo of?
4. Any other general app recommendations?
5. What general settings should I initially use? or disable?
6. Anything I missed for a first time android user?
1) NEXT Launcher 3D
2) NEXT Launcher 3D
3) NEXT Launcher 3D's "Swing with Scroll" feature

Welcome aboard! Here's the first thing you'll have to deal with: Size. The Note 3 (I have a Note 2) will seem huge and you may get buyer's remorse. Most of us do. It wears off in a couple of days, though and then you'll wonder how you dealt with such a small phone.
1. I use Apex launcher. Why do I use a launcher? Because I like to change the number of rows/columns from the standard setting. I also like to eliminate the Google search bar. And, I like using gestures to go to apps. I use swipe-up for Google Now and swipe-down for notification shade. Why do I use Apex instead of others? No particular reason but it seemed to have the most available features for a free version at the time. I have since paid for it.
2, There are a bazillion apps. But, coming from the iPhone I would first experiment with keyboard replacements. Why? Because you can and the iphone users can't. Try Swype or Swiftkey. Swiftkey is amazing at guessing what your next word will be. Most of all, get used to swiping instead of typing. Once you get good at it it's MUCH faster than typing. Then show that off to your iPhone buddies and say, "Take that!"
3. If you really want to dazzle people with your new phone find a high def YouTube video (the Vevo ones are good). Playing a beautiful video on a large screen has some really powerful WOW! factor.
4. Some apps I use a lot:
Color Note - A great note and checklist app that syncs via the cloud.
Chrome Beta
Flixter for getting movie times and watching trailers
Gas Buddy to find cheap gasoline
Amazon App store. A free app every day. You have to side load it, it's not in the Play Store.
Droid of the Day - A new app suggestion every day
Timely - One of the most beautiful alarm clock apps. It also syncs with all your devices
The usual apps: Netflix, Pandora, Watch ESPN, HBO Go, Dropbox, et al.
5. I turn off Auto display brightness. I leave my Note 2 at full brightness all the time. The battery can handle this just fine.
I leave GPS, Wifi, and NFC on all the time.
Make sure you setup Google+ to automatically upload your photos
6. Don't go too crazy downloading apps. You may find your battery suddenly draining too fast. If you don't like or use an app delete it immediately so it won't eat battery.
Good luck and have fun.

Nova Prime because it is better than TW in every way.
Ok I will answer some of my own questions from using the device the last 10 or so hours I hope this helps someone else. Please add suggestions because I am still getting used to everything.
1. Nova launcher seems to be easier to use because it takes all ur tw settings and imports them. It makes it easy to switch between the two. I like the tw weather widget better though
2. -I still need to find a good email client that syncs the few accounts that I have together. I haven't looked into this yet.
-Equalizer is a really good app to put more bass or customize the sound of your music.
-Adblock plus is really nice to have while browsing the internet .. I always hated that I couldn't use it on the iphone.
-The adapt sound settings helped make my headphones sound a little better. I use an aux in on my car so it kind of sucks that they don't have profiles for different sources.
3. -Next Launcher is really nice to show people but I don't know if I could use it everyday and its 3x the price of other launchers.
-Real Racing 3 is a nice demo game but good old angry birds star wars 2 probably looks the best and it has a note 3 achievement
-slow mo camera is really nice but anything less than 1/2 speed and the image starts to look very grainy .. 4k really has a wow factor even on the 1080p screen.
4. Sketchbook for Galaxy is a lot of fun to draw in with the s-pen.
5. -I followed this guide for disabling some of the bloatware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2478448
-I also disabled most of the air hover features because they are nice for demoing the device to someone but I probably won't use them. Plus I wear glasses and it doesn't seem to detect my eyes very well.
-People are reporting poor wifi and one of the settings suggested is to turn off network auto connect.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2472779 .. I experienced the problem but reset my router and it seems fine now.. not sure if its a software glitch or what.
6. -Here is a useful guide on how to transfer your contacts : http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/transfer-iphone-contact-to-android/
-The only thing I am missing from iOS are the nice lock screen notifications. If anyone has a suggestion please let me know

1. I have been using Nova for a while on my Galaxy Nexus, and use it on my N3 now too. It's not too bloated, allows custom number of icons per row/column, gestures, and resize all widgets. I used to use Apex, and that was really good too, but I switched a while ago to Nova because there was some feature Apex didn't have, though honestly I don't remember what now, and they may very well have added it.
2. SketchBook Mobile by Autodesk (makers of AutoCAD and Inventor, among many other engineering-oriented programs) is kind of cool, it's a sketch program that you can do a lot with, and works well with the stylus. Not the most useful app, per se, but a fun "proof of concept" if you will, and it's free. I believe there's more options than the built in equivalent, though I haven't used either a ton yet.
3. Any high def media will look awesome. Show them Netflix streaming, or as someone else said, HD Youtube, or any other HD video. Even pictures taken with the camera look great, simply because of the huge high res screen. Pictures taken with the phone probably would look even better on the screen than ones taken with another phone with a better camera but worse screen, because it's still small enough to cover up minor imperfections, but big and crisp enough to really look amazing.
4. For a music player, I like PowerAmp. It's got a really good equalizer, and a ton of settings to play with. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of the interface, but it's not awful. You can also customize the widget as much as you want, in terms of colors, fonts, transparency, buttons, size, what's displayed, etc.
I also use UberSync for Facebook, which lets you use sync HD pictures from facebook as contact photos. You can also import birthdays into your calendar, if you want, and some other info from people's profiles. You can choose what resolution to use, how often to sync, and only use wi-fi if you want.
5. I turned off all of the Smart features and that kind of thing. I don't want to control my phone with my eyes or hand gestures, I want to use it with my hands or S Pen. Of course that's fully a matter of preference. Also I noticed that the setting to alert you if you walk away without putting the S Pen back in is disabled by default, so I enabled that. I still worry I'm going to lose it sometime, but that's just because I'm forgetful.
