[Q] What's the difference between Endless7-CM and tezte-CM? - Milestone 2 General

Besides de 100 mb difference?
I've just used Endless7-CM, but in his topic he said that tezet's a full-functional CM7. What's the true difference between them?

It's been told so many times...
For instance my answer is there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239778&page=199

Sorry, I'm a fail on searches.
Didn't read all Endless' topic.

Endless7 performs a change in ROM to start the Defy CM7.
Tezet starting ROM compiles the sources, as it should be done.

[Q]Multiboot for MS2

Hi All,
I was wondering if someone know if there is a multiboot option or whether it is possible to have two ROMs on our MS2
This may be something similar like the app on GPlay called Boot Manager or some dev work like the ones on Defy front.
I think this would be a great option to test custom ROMs and will eleminate the need to flash very frequently.
Regards and Thanks

Not really, I didn't mean dual boot in two different platforms but two different ROMs eg: MIUI, CM9 ... or Argen2stone, CM...etc.
Thanks though...nice thread

Have you tried Defy Multiboot? It works on the Moto Bravo perfectly. Its possible it will work for the Milestone 2 as well. The only problem it has is, on some roms, bugs will occur on the Multiboot rom that don't normally happen when the rom is installed to nand. An example was CM9 (both Bravo and Defy) didn't have root access on Multboot until CM9 was patched for it.

ROM whithout bugs

I search a ROM for Defy+ doesn't have any bugs, and everything work perfectly.
Now, I use CM9 by Quarx, but i need wi-fi tethering. The CM10 have the same problem.
I'm a noob, so i ask you
If you want to have a ROM without any bugs, go for stock Defy+ ROMs.
Remember that the devs here are doing this in their free time and there is and always will be bugs.
These questions "whats the best rom" or "rom without bugs" or "rom with best battery life" are the most quaranteed way to get hated here on xda.
(no offence)

and please, read the threads before asking, another user open a thread asking the same 7 days ago, there's no problem if you ask, but show some research effort.
no, i'm sorry for the research, my english is very bad, so is difficult to find the right word to explain what i think.
I don't want to be hated from anyone, was just a question for me and i appreciate the work of devs.
Thank u anyway

Which kernel to use?

hi i'm new around here, and think that this is the place for my questions..
about a few weeks started to flash quark's JB defy+ roms on my defy red lens and no problems so far.. but i kinda noticed that cm9 kernel have better battery performance than cm10.. cm10 one have a lot of battery drain.. is that possible or did i do something wrong? i always flashed the battery fix and calibrated again on every flash..
also i would like to know the difference betweens these kernels.. i googled a bit and didn't find anything clear..
sorry if this kind of questions were answered before, post the link of where is it answered if that's the case and i'll see..
thanks in advance! so glad that this forum (and obviously quark's development) is on internet, really helped me..
i'm argentine, there might be some errors on my writing sorry about that!
There is no such thing as "CM9 kernel" or "CM10" kernel. The kernels you can install are the stock Motorola Kernels, either the Froyo-Kernel from the normal Defy or the Gingerbread-Kernel from the Defy+. On a red-lens normal Defy both kernels work, but the Gingerbread-Kernel has a more fine-grained CPU clock stepping.

i kinda got confused when downloaded both.. turns out to be the same one thanks for the correction!
too bad that we are forced to use the stock ones (because of the locked bootloader think, if i read it well), who knows what our defy could do without limitations

new to the defy.

I'm by no means a rookie when it comes to android. But this phone confuses the hell out of me. I read the all in one defy guide, and it helped. However, I want to run ics, especially with jb having certain features broken that I use. I don't have the phone yet as its in the mail and I'm compiling everything to root and rom.
So my question is, what sbf rom file should I rsd to run cm9? I also have a new defy+ battery coming, would this battery cause the battery % drop thats heavily discussed here.

I've got an actual DEFY+ (MB526) and I've never had battery drops on any ROM's (tested more than 10 ROM's). I've read a lot about people with MB525's who bought DEFY+ battery and only had problems with it... Don't take my word for it, though and I hope it works out for you fine. Problems, like, it wouldn't charge to 100%. Don't know, Gingerbread kernel and a DEFY+ battd should be enough to make it work...should be
SBF ROM is not the way I would suggest, really... Messing with SBF's is not the smartest call.
What have you got? A DEFY on Froyo? Or Eclair? You should update to Froyo and then root using SuperOneClick and install 2ndInit (the installer is in the Themes&Apps subforum) and go ahead and flash any ROM in the custom recovery.
And may I ask what features does JB have broken compared to ICS? WiFi tethering doesn't work on ICS and does on JB, for a contrary example, though.
Cheers, mate! And welcome to the DEFY lot
That actually clarified a lot. Thanks. Not sure what is on the defy yet. Waiting for its arrival. The way you worded the process made this phone easier to understand as its just like every other moto phone out there.

I guess ill be running on the froyo kernel then with any rom i flash, correct? Also what jb rom would you suggest? It was my understanding that video recording didn't work.

"Which ROM is best" type threads are not allowed on XDA because of the controversy and arguments that question inevitably generates. As it seems like your other questions have already been answered, I'm closing this thread to avoid that type of discussion.

MB525, green lens. From android 2.1 to 4.* ICS.

Hello!
I am new here, also i have no experience. I own a Motorola Defy MB525, with green lens, the android version of the device is 2.1 update.
Because, i am lost through the vast amount of info , i would like to advice and suggest me, a way to upgrade my device to android ICS, if that's not too much trouble. The device is already rooted. Also i don't use windows on my pc, i use linux, openSUSE 12.2 distro.
I want to thank you for your time and effort to answer my inquiry.

Both MB525 and 526 have the OMAP3630 processor. In MB525 it is underclocked to 800Mhz, while in MB526 it is clocked at 1Ghz.

I am rooted all ready.
The problems I am facing with the original rom now, is that I can not save data or photos on my sd card and I can not use the youtube app, because it says that I have no connection. But i can i browse through the web, check my emails and download apps via play store.
So I've taken the decision, that it is time flash another rom in my device.
Where do I download 2ndinit?
Thanks in advance.
I've finally got CM7 in my android. I love the GUI. It's like having a new phone in my hands.
The next step is to get android 4.x if it's possible.
