try different browsers. keep in mind this isnt a pc so it isnt able to support everthing, so you may have to just use an app.

Alot of those sites run background services/programs. Such as. Net, silverlight and windows version of Java. These are limits of android.
There is no cross platform. But HTML 5 is said to bring them all closer.thou I see this will not happen with the major configuration sets of HTML 5 can bring.and. net will never run on android.

Mobile Security Camera

Is there a way to put up a security camera in your office and view it from your mogul??
YES
If you purchase an ip camera you would be able to view the streaming content from the camera with tcmp or wmp by entering the cameras address. You also could have the softare email your mogul to alert you of motion by entering your phones email address obtainable from your service provider usually your phone # @providers domain. Further more you could even control the camera if it supports this with flash and or java support in pie with cabs that can be found on this forum.
Hope i helped
http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/about-ip-network-video-cameras.html
as far as the static ip if you are cable it won't change unless you reboot the modem but if you have the camera set to email you you will have its ip address whenever their is motion anyway encase of power outage or something.
Sweet, anyone have any camera recomendations? Also any ideas on the portable wireless camera? (ie caould take it camping [place with no internet conection] and leave it in the tent [remote location viewed via wifi or blutooth] and see it on my mogul??)
Your not trying to spy on a GF that is going on a camping trip are ya?
Try this place to get you started...

You can also use ORB (free, orb.com) to stream a webcam from your pc. I do this when we're going out stargazing in the backyard, but want to keep an eye on the sleeping kids. Its a great makeshift video baby monitor.
For the other way around, there's an app called CoolCam which I used to use on my tornado and Wizard which can utilize the phone's camera and stream its input to an IP address. Start coolcam on the device, open the CoolCamXP software on the windows PC, and you can see whatever the phone sees. Uber-cool.
So, basically, at any given point in time I was able to watch whatever is going on at my desk on my phone by using ORB, and when at the desk, I can see whatever was going on by the phone with cool cam. It would have been nice to be able to do BOTH full duplex, like a video phone, but sadly there is no good way to do that with the current setup.
In any event, the problem now is that coolcam does not (yet) support the Mogul. It will soon.

That's sweet, I'll be keeping an eye on that one.
I also checked out kintronics but I couldn't find anything that was standalone capable.
Here's another scenario for the stand alone cam. || Camera placed at the end of a hotel hallway to monitor the outside of your room, while you"re in it. Then the camera is moved so you can check the inside of your room over your phone while you're not in it..|| I travel a lot...
Anyways I really appreciate all the advice guys keep it coming, and to anyone who can help me out with the scenario above, I just got a paypal!
I can't seem to find the coolcam app, anyone have a url?
I have the Panasonic BL-30 webcam setup at home,I use a app called ViewCommander on my Mogul to monitor my house anytime while i'm away from my home.

thanks 2kmy477, still looking for a camera that doesn't require a wifi connection. Or wait does the mogul act like a router for the camera to connect to??? that would simplify things!! hum...

My biggest annoyance with Android's web browser

Android comes with a seriously awesome web browser. It can easily browse regular desktop versions of web pages even over EDGE with no major problems. I'm so glad to leave crippled mobile versions of web pages behind me forever.
EXCEPT
Google, of all places, seems to have some kind of lock preventing the Android browser from gaining access to the desktop versions of their websites. They come up with the mobile versions by default, and even if you click the button to switch it to the desktop version, it doesn't. It takes you to yet another mobile version that is just styled a little closer to the desktop version, but it's by no means identical.
Google built this browser, they know that it can handle desktop webpages, why won't they let us do that with their own sites? I find it really annoying to deal with crippled versions of Google's web pages. In Gmail I can't edit my contacts, in YouTube... I don't know what the hell's going on... all I see is large ugly text, in Google Search I don't have the convenient switch to image search while viewing web results. It's FRUSTRATING.

I really dont know why your browser does that, but I have access to the regular google.com classic view page. I can pic between web, images, local, news.. etc.. I can also log to igoogle.com
I can aswell
Most mobile sites have a link to view the regular site. Google has this.
go to www.google.com then you see on the bottom Mobile is default choice, click on CLASSIC to view the regular website version
Anyone else having an issue with the browser where after a while it no longer renders the pages?
It shows the progress bar filling up and done, but just a blank page.

Yes I've had that problem as well as not being able to get into market have no clue why. Frustrating!!!
I keep having this problem too. The only thing that seems to solve the problem is a restart. I dont know if it has anything to do with me clearing the cache but it IS verry annoying.
Yeah, even killing the browser process doesn't do it either.

thats network issues with thew the 3g when i disable 3g it worked but sometimes it wont
i think it has to do with your cache i wish they come out with a new firmware that lets you save programs to sdcard or cache to sd card
I'm having the same issues. It was working when I first got the phone, but now it only gives me the option for mobile view.
I found a solution to the most annoying, biggest mistake from Google. For those who loved iGoogle and cant find it, here it is:
www.google.com/ig/i?source=mofe
And here is an alternate BETA site from Yahoo as backup:

MySpace.com blocked?

I can't figure out a way to get to MySpace.com via the phone's browser. Any attempt to visit the URL just gives me an ad for the Android app (which I hate). There are links to the (worthless) mobile site and the desktop version of the site, but the link they provide to the desktop version just gets intercepted by their stupid advertisement again, making it inaccessable. Does anybody know a workaround for this problem?
I really wish there was a browser setting to tell the browser to just identify itself as a desktop browser instead of a mobile one, I can't stand it when I get automatically redirected to a mobile version of a site every time I visit it.
Welcome to the world without Microsoft where everything is called "OPEN" but your every move is limited and controlled.
I have noticed many other "controls" in the browser which I hate. None of that stuff ever happens on MICROSOFT products, everything is REALLY open, not "open source dictatorship", Google style.
yea that myspace desktop version being unavailable is really annoying being that the desktop version works better and faster than the myspace app itself....i dnt even understand how it is blocked and y!!!!

This has nothing to do with the phone. This has to do with the website itself. You never have these issues on MS products because MS products don't let the webserver know if it is a mobile browser.
I like your misguided conspiracy theory thou... keep it up.
surely you can change how the client identifies itself, im sure this is in IE settings, or was that opera, or a reg setting, ho hum ...

Just go to home.myspace.com and you will be taken directly to the desktop version
Solution...
just type in us.myspace.com and the desktop version will come up...

I believe that windows mobile phones do allow website to know that it is running a mobile version. Thats why when you go to so many websites via a WM phone it takes you automatically to the mobile version.

It doesn't work correctly half the time. I am a web developer and have had more issues with the wings browser than the G1's.. There is a reg setting but I can't change other peoples reg settings.
And before you know it we will have the same settings on the G1 to do similar things.

Any way to use Incredible as webcam?

I'm using Ubuntu, but I'm guessing that isn't as much of a limitation as what Android gives us.
Probably the answer is "no" but it never hurts to ask. There doesn't seem to be an option in the PC Connection type that would even allow any software on a computer to access the hardware of the device aside from accessing files.
while i dont know of such an app, i dont think its impossible or even hard to write such an app. there are video recording apps, so all u gotta do is send that data over the usb, maybe using debugging mode.
that being said, i am too overworked to write an app like that and i have a webcam, but its an idea for any budding android developer.
have you tried the app ustream?
The app called QIK is not really a webcam but allows you to stream videos live from your device where you can have anyone you choose watch them online. Search for it in the Market it's free. Just a thought.
found this, but i can't get it to work on my nexus.

http://vikram.eggwall.com/computers/watchtower-devel.html
but it is fully open sourced if anyone wanted to dig into it and see what's going on with it.
I'd think it would be pretty awesome if someone got this working.
Ustream.tv has an app to broadcast and another app to watch broadcasted streams. The best part about ustream is that it is also viewable within your Internet browser on incredible. Also for the app that broadcasts it has option to also record what you've broadcasted. I recommend checking it out.

[Q] Why won't images load on most websites?

I'm new to tablets. I'm finding that images don't load on most websites, including Facebook, Netflix, You Tube, Comedy Central, even the App Shop (the screen shots don't load). Instead on most websites there's a little square with a question mark in every spot where an image should be.
This is the case whether I use the browser (large earth button pre-installed on the tablet) or the Apps like Facebook, Netflix and You Tube.
I'm new to all things mobile. Is there something I failed to install or activate to allow these web images to load? Many websites are almost useless without the images. No photos on Facebook... no Movie pictures on Netflix... no You Tube video images on You Tube.
I've tried switching between the option "PC" versus "Mobile" on the settings menu and this doesn't seem to make a difference. I don't really know what these options should do anyway.
This forum has been a lifesaver. Thanks for any expertise you can offer.
When you are in the browser, tap the options box in the top right corner, tap settings, tap advanced, check "load images".
Tap "thanks" if this cures your issue.
Still no images, ideas?
Hi, thanks for the tip about tapping Show Images in the settings menu, but I still get no images in most sites.
Do you? If you go to Amazon or Netflix or Facebook or You Tube from the browser button (or any other way for that matter) do you see the images, i.e. does the website look and function for you the way it's supposed to?
Thanks for coming to my aid, I am a newbie.
Do other computers on your network get images?
My laptop loads web images/pics but not my tablet...
Hi, thanks for asking. My laptop, as well as my husband's netbook, load images/pics on websites just fine, but not my new TPT.
Am I understanding that this is not a common problem? Do other Thinkpad Tablet users see websites just fine?
I get little squares with question marks every place an image should be on most websites...
Thanks for any advice.

Do you suspect the home firewall?
Yes, I just wanted to make sure there's not something along the network connection that is filtering the traffic. I have seen similar results on desktop web browsers when a utility like Peerblock is running and set to filter HTTP on that PC.
Do you have the flash player installed? Get it from the market. At least some of the blank frames will be filled in.
