In case anyone needs it, the cifs kernel module for Galaxy S compiled by tegrak works. It's been working fine on my KK1 kernel. Not bad as it saves some compiling effort!
Just pull out the version for 2.3.4+ from the original thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113191.
Insmod slow-work.ko then cifs.ko.
But better loaded and managed with CifsManager apk

great find, works for me too.
kka firmware with cf-root kk1 kernel
it don't work with KK9 ..
can anyone compil it for my firmware ?
Insmod always says file not found. I triple-checked and the path is correct, and the modules are there.
???
And you have which kernel version?

FM kernel 1.4, Sheep ROM 1.2
it works when i do insmod by adb but when i do it cifs-manager, how would i load both the slow-work.ko and the cifs.ko at the same time?
***** figured it out,
put both files into /mnt/sdard/modules and then whack the following lines into path of cifs-manager
/mnt/sdcard/modules/slow-work.ko;insmod /mnt/sdard/modules/cifs.ko
Good bye AllSuck.apk
Doesn't work with KL7 on Abyss Note 3.0
Works only on stock kernels ?
Don't work on stock kl7 ... Too

Could you post the modules here for the kl7, that are works for you?

It's working with cifs manager. Using kernel cf xla3.
EDIT: After cifs activation (usage), i had a huge battery drain while phone was sleeping with wifi off ... had to restart.

After that it works fine

Ok, works for 2.6.35.7-N7000XXKKA... when the modules are manually inserted (checked by lsmod)
# lsmod
cifs 204889 0 - Live 0xbf06c000 (F)
slow_work 8711 1 cifs,[permanent], Live 0xbf014000 (PF)
Any way to 'mount' SMB disk directly ???
(i.e something like mount -t cifs //mysrv/mydisk /mnt/some/where)
Hello!
May you explain what CIFS stands for and which effects it has to use it or what it is for? I see CIFS now is implemented in the Franco-kernel as a toggle in his application.
With Cifs Manager you can mount a directory with e.g. movies,pdf,mp3... from your Windows PC to your Android file system. Cifs manager needs cifs.ko kernal module.

I don't know what you mean. What should be different? Kernel modules only runs together with (one) the corresponding correct (version-vise) kernel.

after that i run dexo -dat, worked without problems

Ah and, I don't have any proc_auxv files

issue come from LS mod coz each time i load it with LS command in terminal emulator, proc_ files are created. i've tried on fresh install of LS mod. Before LS mod no proc_auxv files
EDIT : ok i've tried another method. i'm not using anymore this emulator https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm&hl=fr , and use putty on my PC to connect by SSH to my Zenfone, and for now, no more proc_auxv file created. i'm using sshdroid, even if service can't start in the application i can connect to my phone and use LS mod without creating any proc_auxv files

YES! It's from LS! On boot after LS install, proc files are created and everytime LS is launched and every input given into LS will create the files.. I even tried another terminal application, even though I can't make LS work with the other terminal application, but proc files are still created. I didn't try SSH as you did but I can now sure that LS created those files.
(or maybe the story doesn't end there, as @AL_IRAQI claims that he doesn't use LS but he has proc files too)

I mean if you want to use L Speed then use v2.5. If you don't want to use L Speed, you can just delete the files (make sure you've uninstalled L Speed completely first before deleting so that it will not appear again).
(Deleting the files won't affect any version of L Speed, you can just delete it but if you're using v2.4 then the files might reappear everytime L Speed runs)

At least you have to be rooted, with Busybox and SElinux in permissive mode or check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3289075 it's easier and you don't need to be in permissive mode, just flash in TWRP. I use it nevertheless it doesn't work with stock music player for me.
