The source that is being pushed right now only supports the GALAXY NEXUS.

Yes, you can still do that, but I haven't updated that manifest yet.
The ICS history is about 6GB overall (though the current version is a
little bit smaller as it only supports Galaxy Nexus). A mirror would
probably be a bit larger than that.

[INFO] Official ICS 4.0.4 is faster! | On GNex

Look the post here:

Hope it does the same with Nexus S.
Cheers for Google.
4.0.4 for Nexus S, When is due out?
The leaked version is faster for 4g.
is 4.0.4 out for the Gnex? if so when will it be for NS?
Yes Galaxy Nexus owners are getting the OTA update. Not sure when it will come out for Nexus S.

faster for 4g
Cant wait till they release the OTA for NS. (I think that the roms based on 4.0.4 will be muchhh better in performance..)
Galaxy nexus was only on 4.0.2 officially.
Older builds we had were lackluster also but then we got 4.0.3 and was a huge difference in terms of performance and smoothness
the jump from 4.0.2 makes sense
not sure though about us i think its mainly bug fixes..ect we will notice
nice to see its rolling out hopefully ours is not far behind
It'd be nice if they released something, anything for the 4G :/ The 4.0.4 leak is really really good but something official just so we know Google still <3's us :'(

Maybe they just meant that it's the first phone that comes pre-installed with it.
I think that JB is going to be officially supported on the Nexus S as Google said JB is only going to be a little update to make ICS faster.

PS: Check out Google I/O 2012 app's screenshots. On one shot you can see a launcher pic (must be a JB shot).
Will there even be a new Nexus phone this year if the Gnex is the first phone with JB?

There might be a new nexus device around November since that seems to be the cycle Google has chosen for nexus releases.
Nexus 7 tablet is the hardware release for JB and since Google don't want to fragment anymore the gn is the first phone with JB.

hard to say as JB will make its debut 1 year, 6 months, 11 days from when the Nexus S was first released. This is out of Google's 18month support period.

1 year, 6 months and 11 days translates to something like 16,3 months. Which is indeed inside Google's window of support.

1 year = 12 months. 12 + 6 = 18. So maybe, maybe not. Either way it's close and speculation is futile.

If you bought the NS from T-Mobile first day it was launched, you still stuck with this handset for another 6 months. so google should give a full 2 year support. Come on google! NS can run ICS. NS can run JB.
Wasn't the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 meant to ship with JB in order to compete with iPhone 5 release in October?

So now that it's official that the Nexus S is getting Jelly Bean, here are my guesses for release:
I9020T/I9023 - Mid july as stated
I9020A - Early August once it's been verified there are no problems with the OTA.
D720 - Giving Sprint two months to test Google's ROM and approve it for release, I say mid September
M200 - Total wild card, but I'd be shocked if it was before October.
Discuss.

Wrong. That's the SDK dump. He was asking for a dump of the actual Jelly Bean Galaxy Nexus OTA that was issued to some people at Google I/O today.
They are not receiving their Galaxy Nexi until 4 PM PST (7 PM EST)
Wow Nexus S get Jelly Bean!!
This device is amazing!
Still the best Nexus device IMHO.
I'm sure the URL of tonight's OTA for the Galaxy Nexus can be grabbed by logcat and then downloaded. Then it's just a case of waiting for it to be ported to the Nexus S.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

I still can't believe Nexus S is cheaper than Galaxy S at dealers in my country. Two of my friends got Galaxy S, while I got Nexus S for lower price, and I'm the one laughing in their faces now.
Really, Nexus S is now probably the official king of it's competitors. Pure Google, first in update line, hardware is still not outdated, and it's cheap!
Best phone I could have ever bought.
My take on things.
Cyanogenmod devs are at the conference am I right? Also they are giving out phones with 4.1 beta software. I wouldnt be surprised if we had 4.1 image on our phones by friday

Sprint Nexus S 4G Officially AOSP (again)

http://www.androidcentral.com/nexus-s-4g-officially-aosp-device-once-again
This relates to the porting of the crespo drivers for our Epics to be able to access 4G, etc. Now that it's officially official (again) maybe this will aid all of our devs (especially Team Epic) in their continued quest of perfection!
If considered non-news or just not that interesting, please feel free to close this thread Kenny.
I don't get it was the nexus s 4g not also at one point?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Edit: lmao cause of too much xda I associated aosp with roms instead of open source
Correct. The Nexus S 4G on Sprint was part of and then was shunned by AOSP because of the proprietary drivers needed for CDMA and WiMax. The gist of the article is that they've all somehow come together and worked things out to where Nexus S 4G will now see updates about the same time as GSM Nexus S. This pertains to us Epic users as well, at least those of us on ICS, since Team Epic devs are currently using several drivers from Nexus S 4G to make our phones work. This should also help them port Jelly Bean to our phone, once official source code drops.

There is already a nightly for the international version so probably in few days / weeks a nightly will hit our version, I hope..
Is anybody even working on a CM9? I think it will take quite some time as the cpu and antenna is different on the US version since it uses LTE and all developers seem to concentrate on the international version only.

that's two drivers that have to change. porting it from the internation version shouldn't be hard. I'm staying with this buggy unofficial version on my EVOLTE cause I can't stand Sense or TouchWiz
I might stay stock until jellybean comes out, and I have a feeling our guys will do a pretty good port on it.
try this for now, if it's gui stuff
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746427
I believe CM has already announced that as soon as Jelly Bean source is out (since they're already at RC status with CM9), they will stop development on CM9 and go forward with CM10.
From the CM Google+ page: Our goal is to release a stable CM 9.0.0 (and any needed .1’s). After that, we will work on CM7 and CM10 only. As stated above, CM9 devices are highly likely to get CM10, so maintaining a separate class of devices for CM9 only is inefficient.
Now back to the original post: I also miss CM9. I think CM9 is far superior to TouchWizz. Once CM9/10 is released for my GS3, I'm rooting and switching.
I will also likely never buy anything but a Nexus phone in the future, and in some ways, regret not purchasing one this time. The only saving grace is that buying a Nexus and switching to a T-Mobile Value plan would have only saved me $5 per month due to my grandfathered plan, so it's actually cheaper in the long run for me to get the GS3 on contract.
In my opinion, the galaxy s3 is way better than the nexus, even with the nexus running jelly bean.

Can't wait for some Jelly Bean hotness. I'd certainly settle for pure ics for now
By the time they release a CM10 for our phone the next Nexus will be out. Rumor has it Google will introduce 5 Nexus models this year. Let's hope that's true. I learned that with Android phones if you really want good rom development you need a Nexus or wait for months on end for a decent rom like CM.

Yep, same here. While Touchwiz isn't my favourite, I can definitely manage using it for another month or two until CM10 is released. At that point, I don't think I can wait for Samsung's ridiculously slow updates to make its way to me.
