Updating radio while android is installed. - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hey guys,
I was thinking of updating my radio,
But I have nand version of android installed, my radio is 2.10 and I heard a newer version of radio can improve battery life... so I want to update to 2.15, but Will there any damage caused to the rom ?
Sent from my HTC HD2

it wont cause any damage.just go into bootloader and flash the radio. Of course, backup all your stuff before flashing the radio in case it wipes the NAND data

K thnx. I will try it out.

[Q] Pls help to install ANDROID

HELP ME .....I can't install android 2.2 in my htc hd2. I read a suggestion to please downgrade redio version to 2.12.50 and spl version to 1.42.....then run HSPL3_PKG to unlock the divice, after this go file Android and tab CLRCAD and Haret ,with in 10-15 minites every thing ok . But my radio version is 2.15.50.14 and Spl is 3.13......i can't downgrade this ...i tried sevarel cab .... every downgrade process end an error.
Pls help me, to install android ..... my rom version is 3.14.479.2 updated in 10/04/10. thanksssssss
Radio etc is fine, what's happening exactly?

"Spl is 3.13......i can't downgrade this"
Have you tried reflashing with the previous official rom?
i don't know if your device is Tmous or HTC HD2.
mine is the latter,i upgrade to the new rom3.14 WWE asia, spl 3.13 and later reflash with the previous official stock rom 1.66 and i got back spl 1.42.
from there i did hspl, flash radio and got android running.
try reflashing with the previous official rom then check on the spl version.once you confirmed it has been downgraded, you can do watever you want to get android running.
always read carefully if the rom you are flashing is compatible with your device.or you'll end up with a very expensive paper weight.
The 1 and only thing that is important is the radio. Seriously, forget about SPL/HSPL. The only reason people say to do anything with HSPL is because you need to have a suitable radio, and until recently there were no stock ROMs with a suitable radio. HSPL would allow you to upgrade your radio.
The radio you have is fine. It needs to be at least 2.08 (you're is 2.15) and it needs to be a 2.xx.50, not a 2.xx.51 (yours is 2.15.50).
Just follow the instructions on the Android build thread (where you download the build) and you should be able to run it with no problem.
Encfiltlog.menc
hi ,i need your help for a strange situation:i my trying to port android on my LEO i find a file call encfiltlog.menc on my sdcard where i put the android folder.it doesn't allow me to do anythig.i'm formatting and reìstalling several times but i'm having no fortune......
ps.spl 3.03.000-radio 2.15.50.14-rom dutty using SSPL-

[Q] SOD on Radio 2.10.**.. How can i fix it? Any Help please?!

Hello Every1!
I just baught a T-Mobile HTC HD2 for my brother .. he HATED WM 6.5 and wants Android so bad!
Anw i tried putting Android MdeeJay Froyo Clean 2.4 on it but SOD keeps on happening when i put the phone to sleep!
I Just get a dark light and thats it so i have to remove the battery and start all over again!
I Searched xda and found out its caused by the old Radio Version.
Now i need to upgrade my Radio Verision.
Can it be fixed without Flashing or Changing Radio?
And If i update to the latest T-Mobile HD2 ROM will it Update my Radio to more then 2.12 and from that Stop SOD from happening ?
will the Stock HD2 ROM cause any problems?
+ .. Is it ok to Flash a Radio to 2.15 even if the ROM is old?
Im sorry for those many questions but im a bit lost as you can see!!
10x alot anyway
I am not a professional myself, but I solved my SOD by flashing to 2.15.50. Previously I was using 2.10 myself and at one point I kept getting SOD everytime I lock my phone and hence I flashed it to 2.15. It works well now
I am not sure whether Radio is affected by ROM (or stock ROM in your case), but if you wish, you can try this Dutty Family ROM which I am using. Since you are going to flash Radio, why not flash a WinMo ROM altogether XD

Question About Radios [Not Too nooby, Sorry For Inconvenience but i have to ask]

since the new nand android got released for the leo...i have one question about flashing which i just cant understand is this how it goes? ->
1) install hspl3 anything 2.08 or higher as mskip said.
2) install magldr version 1.something or higher
3) install nand Rom (Nand Version Only Not the sd Ones) By going into usb flasher mode...
the only thin i cant understand is where does radio come into all of this...on mskip's tutorial he says use 2.08 radio or higher....
are these hacked radio's or just the same firmware needed to run radio devices on android ?
and when we install like a cyanogen nand or the desire nand do we have to update the radio to a particular version or something?
i understood everything about hspl and magldr and android nand...just cant get where the radio comes into all of this...some guides dont even have radio mentioned.....
do we just need to have 2.08 or higher and just leave it and forget about it...or do we need to upgrade to a particular version....
will it harm the phone if i upgrade or should i just blindfolded upgrade to the latest 2.15 or something(dont know the version number)
i hope i havent troubled you guys a lot...just needed this clear for myself and maybe the community....sorry for the incoveneince
can any1 please help me out?
Just make sure you've got a suitable radio, as you said, and that's it. You don't need to update it when you flash new builds.

[Q] Default ROM for HD2

Hi, I have been using Android basically since day one when I got this phone. I have been experiencing random restarts lately and think it could be a hardware issue. I already tried different Android ROMS and also tried using it from a clean state (no extra apps installed)...so it comes down to possible hardware/motherboard issue. I want to send it back to HTC for a replacement.
I ran HSPL3 and it's back to 2.10.0000 SPL now. I found an update for the T-Mobile US (1024) stock rom (3.14.531). I restored it back and everything looks ok now. The only thing I'm worried about is the radio version. I remember putting 2.15.50.14 on it and still see it. From what I see here, the radio should be 2.14.50.04 for this latest update.
My main question (just FYI for my knowledge) is shouldn't restoring the T-Mobile software restore the radio version also? It looks like I'll just have to flash the radio back myself.
The original specs I had were:
R 2.10.50.26
G 15.39.50.07U
D 2.13.90693 8G
I guess I don't need to worry about the 2nd and 3rd one right? Forgot exactly what they meant (read it somewhere) but the radio is what worries me.
Thanks.
No the radio will not change by replacing the rom, you need to choose the radio of your choice and flash it to the phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
So should I flash the original radio back (2.10.50.26)? I read in one of the posts here that for the 3.14.531 ROM, it should have the 2.14.50.04 radio.
Haven't ran into any random restarts yet after I restored it back to the Windows Mobile ROM. Might have to go back to square one if it doesn't happen in Windows but only in Android.
Thanks.
You should flash Radio 2.15.50.14 and HSPL2.08 for your phone,in order to run android.Since, you have flashed your stock ROM,i think its best you start fresh from the beginning.Start with HSPL,then radio. Have you tried both SD and NAND builds? and did you use MAGLDR?. If you still experience boot cycles, you might want to try TASK 29. If you are launching Android from WM, you should want to flash a custom WM ROM that works well with Android.

Yes it sounds like you may have a hardware issue seeing as you have tried different Android NAND ROMs.
If you still see the 2.15.50.14 radio then it is still installed on your HD2. The question though is did the radio version with the stock ROM get upgraded to the 2.15.50.14 version from the 2.14.50.04 version.
To answer your question yes the radio version does get flashed when you flash a official stock ROM via RUU. The radio version that the ROM contains is the version that gets flased.
Thanks for providing the original specs on your HD2 as this lets people know what your original stock ROM was and the original radio and base band versions wee too. The R is the radio version, the G is your Base Band version, and the D is the ROM version.

Not true, if you flash a official stock Windows Mobile ROM via RUU (USB) it will change the radio version to the radio version included in the ROM. This is why TMOUS HD2s get bricked when you flash them with a international ROM. The radio versions in the international ROMs are not compatible with the TMOUS HD2.

I would flash the radio version that is known to be the radio version included with the stock ROM. HTC will be looking for two things basically. One if the radio, base band, and ROM versions all match up, and two if you have SPL on the device and not HSPL. If either of these do not pass HTC will deny your claim.

I agree with member kawshigan, you should check and see if HSPL was removed and replaced with SPL by the stock ROM flash, check the bootloader screen to see if you still have it. If you did it via RUU than it did not. But if you flashed it via SD card then it did remove HSPL. Either way you have to have HSPL flashed to you HD2 to flash MAGLDR or cLK, you also have to have it to run a TASK 29. Once you are sure you have HSPL on your HD2 you I suggest youi run a Task 29, next flash the 2.15.50.14 radio, then flash MAGLDR or cLK (wich ever one you want to use), then flash Clockwork Mod Recovery, and then use Clockwork Mod Recovery to flash your ROM via .zip file on your SD card.

[Q] Telstra HTC HD2 Running Android

Hello, Sorry if this message is posted in the wrong area, but this is my first post, i am a noob PLEASE HELP!
I have an unlocked Telstra branded HTC HD2 T9193 running the stock wm6.5
ROM and the stock RADIO.
OS Version 5.2.2169 (21869.5.0.82)
Manila Version 2.5.20121431.1
ROM Version 1.72.841.0 (82124) WWE
Radio Version 2.07.51.22_2
Protocol Version 15.32.50.07U
I want to run the NexusHD2 android build from my SD card but i have tried and it just sits at the linux boot code screen forever. I have looked on XDA developers and have found that i have to install HSPL3 and then flash the 2.15.50.14 RADIO ROM. Is this true? is there any other way to boot android without re flashing? I love my HD2 and am scared i will brick it? How can i ensure that i do not brick it (if i have to re flash a RADIO).

only tmous needs to be careful, , the radio brick you heard about doesn't affect you. (Well, there's always a slim chance with any flashing, but the infamous 'i flashed this radio/stock rom and now it wont turn on' brick doesnt affect your phone.)

So with TMOS devices you cannot flash a xx.xx.51.xx RADIO and have to flash a xx.xx.50.xx RADIO, but with a European or Australian device you can flash a xx.xx.50.xx RADIO, such as 2.15.50.14?
Yep, tmous 2.06.50 or higher,, must be x.xx.50
Regular+telstra - any radio, ..50.. or ..51.., will flash, however for compatibility with various things, (unlocking ram, using nand android, magldr) use high numbered ..50.. radios, 2.11.50 up to 2.15.50

Ok thanks, i have one more question. Can i use my stock ROM with the new 2.15.50.14 RADIO, or will windows crash, and make me have to install a custom ROM?
It will be fine.
