Got mine from handtec about 10 mins ago....DHL is pretty fast.
Even tough I am very excited..but at the same time a bit surprised and disappointed.
I thought the phone would be the UK version one, but instead, it's a Polish version...
Are all of you that got the phone from handtec Polish version?
ps. I bought it on the 5th, but was not sent out until the 8th
cheers!
what's the difference?
screen tint

Got mine on 11/9 from negri. . It was polish too...
works wonderfully (att).
i noticed 'blue' printed on box near upc. . .not really sure what that means....

it seems like there is a defect on the screen for the EU version phones...
now I will not be able to compare them as my other one that's coming is a German version.
I was looking forward to compare the UK and EU version.
now I don't know which I should keep. the POLISH or GERMAN.
German one is prob not going to be here for at least another week. It's been stuck at Frankfurt for about a week now.
The Polish one i can always send back to handtec for warranty purposes.
"Blue" means it is the dark blue version rather than white. The blue is so dark it might as well be black!

Fiddlestix.
Mine is Polish and fine.
I bought mine from handtec, mine is just a sim free version...I am polish though so a polish model wouldnt have been bad haha
How do u know if polish or english? mine is english and the box all in english in addition to the user manual and other stuff all written in english
Got it fron handtec second batch
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium App
Mine (from handtec delivered nov7) is definitely UK version, it still lists market items in pounds and sometimes thinks I'm using UK language.
Because everything on the box is in Polish. It's a bit strange that handtec have their second batch as the UK version.. because thought i the Note was rolled out later after UK?!
ok...after a day of wait....finally opened the box.
I had my old dell streak next to it....and...WOW....the screen is definitely BIGGER than the Streak. Much WIDER, but thinner and lighter. (It does feel a bit cheaper than I expected it to be though I must say)
Some how it knows what language I need already, which is English(AUS)....Don't know how it knew...but it did....SMART!
The screen is much brighter and vibrant than the streak....and PHEW...I don't think there's anything wrong with the screen...thanks goodness.
I then decided to try and make the display to full brightness...when I got into the setting section and I was like...What The?! The brightness was set all the way down??? But the screen looks so bright and beautiful already...wow
It ran really smoothly and had no lags...
So, I'm loving it atm...hopefully the impression will stay that way
ps. the phone was made in Korea

Except of the language in the box, is there anything wrong with the devices?
I'm asking, because I would like to have Polish version too But only, if it's like normal Note, without any issues.
By the way - if you want some translation, looking forward to help ^^
Maybe it is a new policy of Samsung, to make their customers more open minded, and encourage them to learn new languages kidding. Regards.

lol...maybe...but i'm pretty sure that my language learning talent is "zero" ...
I have only had a play on the phone last night for about 30 mins....still waiting for the screen protector to come to use it as my primary phone. In that 30 mins or so, everything seems to be PERFECT, including the SCREEN. So it should be alright It's a GREAT phone!
Polish version is fine

Only problem is I couldn't read the quickstart guide, but I got by

I don't even care if it comes with Swahili or Hieroglyphics main language!
As long as I can immediately change it to English I'm all good!

I got the Polish version from Negri (highly recommended)
Very funny that when you first start, the 'press me to change languages' button is in Polish. Duh.
I got rid of the annoying Plus+ startup and shutdown animations and sounds ASAP. Then removed all the apps whose names were hard-wired to Polish.
Love the phone. Love the pen.

The seal was ripped when you arrived it? Not very hard to put a new one but I wouldn't expect anything like that from a company like that.

I just paid for my new HTC Touch HD I got on eBay last night and it should be shipped out from down under pretty soon. So, I guess that means HTC can now announce all of their cool next generation phones. At least that's how it usually works when I buy something high tech. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting it and going through the process of installing all the software onto it.
congrats mate!!!
im sure ul enjoy it , i do mine
the only thing i feel im missing out on is the app store for the iphone
but that said i still wouldnt swap mine if the chance arose

Where can i buy HD for about 450-500 usd, and where the visa virtuon card is accepted, and is guaranteed that they will ship the pda to me in europe?
I would say eBay as well and then someone who accepts PayPal. Maybe this could also help (sry for bad google translation) you.

Hi materijalmen,
Seeing your flag, I suggest to try:

You can also do a direct bank transfer with these guys, and they gave me good service in the past. I know it's a bit more than you mentioned, but that's the going rate, unless you want to try marktplaats?

Yes. I've flashed Dutty's rom on it and I've downloaded some other programs I plan to add. I'm learning things as I go but so far I like everything except:
1 The screen goes black during a call. How do I get the screen back up? What if I have to "press one for English"? There's no keypad.
2 Whle trying to delete calls from teh call history I've accidently called people a few times.
3 While trying to install the ROM, which took about an hour, my wife was trying to call me to pick her up fom the metrorail station. She had to wait an hour since I don't have any other phone. Boy was she pissed.

I saw that there are forums added for some WP7 devices. I was wondering why there's no forum created for the HTC Trophy 7. (I get one this thursday and I really need some roms etc .. no, the official reason for asking is, I believe the Trophy 7 is one of the only devices HTC is going to launch in Europe, so I think a forum would be very appreciated.
I was about to ask about this.
I get mine Trophy 7 deliverd tomorrow, but it's vodafone branded.
It should work with my KPN sim, at least thats what the shop said, but I want to get rid of the vodafone branding in the software.
There also wont be any logo's on the phone itself, just the software.
I'm sure i can flash an official HTC rom on it.... but i'll need some help.
I do have some experience with flashing. been flashing my Touch Pro since the first month i got it (been 2 years already )
so please make an Trophy 7 related section for us guys from Holland
HTC 7 Trophy
Hello all togeteher,
I was going to ask exactly the same question. I think there are already a few people who would like to see a Forum which can be used for discussions etc. about the HTC 7 Trophy.
I too would also like to see this trophy section created. This and the HD7 (I believe) are the only wp7 devices available from htc that are unlocked so these should get the most attention imho.
Trophy forum coming soon! Today we added a couple more WP7 forums.
today i was the proud receiver of a HTC Trophy

Did you receive the Vodafone's branding device? Is there any logo on the device? How about the software? Is it about a vodafone theme that you can change or something permanent?
thanks in advance for the answer

your making me super excited!!!! i get mine on monday!!! monday morning, few hours from now. feel like a little kid before Christmas, havent had this feeling for a long time.
hopefully htc and MS fixed this whole xbox xtras app that crashes on htc phone tommorrow. wanna shake my phone and make my avatar fall down....ooooh its raining hailstones!!
sorry for the late reply..
it's indeed the vodafone branded one.
The guy from the shop called me about it. and i asked the guy if there was any branding on the phone itself and he confirmed that there is no branding on the phone.
So when i received it, i was quite anxious about it, but there is only a bootscreen with the vodafone logo, a tile with vodafone (wich i deleted right away) a vodafone app (also deleted) and the manual setup of my APN settings (just had to fill in portalmmm.nl for my Hi account ) and thats it.
Ow and the tiles where red, but adjustable to your prefered setting (mine is blue right now)
@levi3man: xbox live and avatar are working fine, but i replaces my regular live account with an WP7 exclusive one because my contacts from my regular acount is a mess, and there are some people in there my girlfriend wouldn't be to happy about .
So i made an new account with no avatar at the moment.
g'day there.
just wondering if you can tell me if you can swap out the microsd card in the Trophy? this has been rumoured on a few sites.
cheers,
milka
I got mine from vodafone NZ and it has absolutely no branding at all, not even the common vodafone start up screen. Perhaps they didn't have enough time to flash it given NZ was the first place in the world to release a wp7 device?
Hey guys just wondering if someone could let use know what the screen is like under direct sunlight? Although it is not that important I would still like to know what I am getting myself into.
I currently have a desire and it's quite poor in direct sunlight - just for reference.

It's usable under direct sunlight, a lot better than my nexus ones amoled display. Perhaps comparable to my old 3gs and maybe a bit less than samsung's super amoled displays.
The SD-card is not in a separate slot below the battery or something so you can't remove it.
I haven't had any issues under sun-light, it's readable and clear enough.
the only thing that bugs me now is that the notes app does't work after the HTC update... Not that i'm using it but still
still playing with the phone, and as i go along, i'm discovering new features.
With windows phone 7 attached to your winlows live profile, you can do some neat things, at least i think their neat
You can map your phone, and it shows on a map the location of the phone, and in my case it was spot on.
You can ring your phone, wich lets your phone ring, so you can find it if you lost it in your room.
You can lock your phone, where the app asks for an 4 digit code to unlock the phone, and an optional message. With this app you can lock your phone from a distance and on wake (power button press) the phone shows an message that the phone is locked or your optional message. and after an reboot the phone still stays in locked state. The only way to unlock it is to enter the 4 digit code. It's still possible to make emergency calls with it.
And the final thing you can do is erase your phone, revert it to factory settings i guess, because i didn't test this part

It doesn't feel plastic at all. The glossy finish gives it a sort of "industrial design" look. Also, the coating on the back gives it a very sturdy grip.
All in all I like the minimalistic design of this phone. It's one of the best designs I've ever seen from HTC. But of course that's a matter of taste.
No scratching of the lens/flash. The lens/flash/speaker compartment is a bit raised, so when it is laying on the table it doesn't lay completely flat. The angle is just enough to prevent scratching.
bootup logo
I've got my Trophy with a boot up logo from Vodafone. Is there any way to get rid of that bootup screen?
Thanx in advance
Hi, I'm new here and I dunno where to post this stuff.
My Nexus S rear speaker was heavily damaged when I try to test the equalizer setting 2 weeks ago and now it's completely gone. No sound at all.
Is there anyone knows how to get the new sparepart for the speaker because I can't find it anywhere in my country, Malaysia. I've tried searching online but can't find any website that sell it.
What type of speaker does this phone have. Can it fit any other speakers model from different phone such as SGS or SGS2?
Thank you..And sorry for my english (I think my english is ok)

Yes I have asked Samsung in here but they said my phone have to be send to Samsung Korea because they don't have the part for this phone. It will take 3-4 weeks or maybe more. Actually Nexus S in my country is very rare, only few lucky people get their hands on these phones. That's why it s really troublesome when something like this happens. If only I can get the part, I have no problem replacing it myself.

Bought the new speaker and fix it myself..It's working now.
I love my Nexus S again.
Hi everyone!
I got some questions but first off I'll go ahead and give the background story of everything.
I bought my HD2 about 2 years ago, now when it finally got payed of (20/01 -12) of course I dropped it for the first time ever and the lcd screen totaly 'died'. I have always loved this phone, but to send it to an repair-store is not an option as it costs 1789 SEK (Swedish 'krona') -is something like 269,03 USD. Not much maybe but for an 2 years old phone, thats too much. /Money I rather spend on a new phone..
Tomorrow I will most likely go and buy the Galaxy Nexus, but still think the HD2 is worth saving, what im thinking of is to order an LCD and try it myself. If I make it worse well, then It wont matter.
My questions:
* After searching for LCD's they say "..for model T8585"
- I guess all HD2 (exept T-mobile maybe?) has this model-nr..? On my box anyway its say T8585.
* Some stores that also say "for model T8585" also say "only US"
- Well, I guess they dont mean "only shipping in US" as its the same store/site that sells other not saying "only US". Is this model-restrictions and how will I know the screens will 'fit' my Leo?
* Is there anything else I should look for exept the model number (T8585) to be certain that it will work/fit ?
Also I will attach a picture of how the screen looks like turned on so you maybe can tell me if I need to replace more than the LCD (Digitalizer/touch screen)
I saw another, old, topic about this but the picture was gone and I guess he could see and then thereby use his cellphone to test if the touch-screen/digitalizer worked wich I cannot.
Might be hard to tell, I dunno..
-If anybody know an reliable store/site that ships to Sweden that sells screens or right screen you would make my day if you could provide me with link.
-Also if they dont/or if you dont know -ship to Sweden; please provide link.
Another question that doesnt have anything with this topic (other than I would have needed this 3 weeks ago ) if there is somewhere to find an Otterbox case for HD2? I know they dont support Leo no longer but I will purchase it for the Galaxy Nexus also so would be nice if it could be found for HD2 also.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: And yes, I have searched the forum. All I find is dead links, non-helpful etc etc.
Oh thats not so good
I dropped mine a while back and cracked the screen big time. Decided id repolace the digitizer but it was only when i got it all apart that i found i needed more expert knowledge than i possess to put it back together. Which all meant another £50 to buy a digitiser/lcd combo. Theres plenty on ebay, such as http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110758732279?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
You could always ask the question about whether this is the right model for you. They should be able to help.
Its a bit of a faff to fit the new screen, but if your in the middle of a contract and cant do an early upgrade it is possibly an option. Or just get another one if you can upgrade....

You should buy whole combo(LCD+touchscreen) in order to do a fine job(it will be much easier for you this way, with good quality in the end). Doing like this it doesn't matter what version/type would be (US or whatever), 'cause they are interchangeable: some rumours indicate US version to be better by quality.
Ebay could be a source for you...
Good luck!

How can one choose combo assembly?
There is one for T-Mobile HD2 and one for European HD2.
This one says that its for T8585

Yea I had the same question but then saw something somewhere saying that T-Mobiles version of HD2 is slightly larger (longer or wider -dont know exactly wich -or both) and therefore I will go for one that is stated for EU-model and would suggest you to do the same, depending on what type of HD2 you've got.
Let's start from the beginning. I got my DZ in august and the keyboard started in october to not write keys like k and j one time on many... the problem got worse (at first it was just one key) and I sent it to assistance, got it back with a new keyboard. Now the volume up key is broken, it doesn't do anything.
May I found something to tell HTC that the problem may be relate to the other to get a replacement?? I don't want to send my phone back to HTC every four-five months...
They said they couldn't cause I sent the phone for the first time more than a year ago... then I got them to understand that it wasn't possible cause I have had the phone for less than a year. Then they explained something in an italian that was worse than my russian, very bad...
Can someone help me? is there some connections between all hard keys? If I can show them that I understand how phone works they may take me more seriously... Unluckily it isn't like in the US where they give you a sensation...
The volume up and down are built into the harddrive. The keyboard keys are conected to the hard drive via flex cable. They more than likley are separate issues

The volume up and down are built into the harddrive. The keyboard keys are conected to the hard drive via flex cable. They more than likley are separate issues

that's very bad... nothing I can use?
If you have a one year warranty and your phone is less than a year old and it dosent fully work you shouldn't have any issues sending it in. Maybe warranty means something different where you live but if my volume key didn't work I would be able to get a replacement

Hey, it's Italy!! Here we've two years warranty, but no replacement, just repair... Everytime this phone breaks I have to send it away for a week, and if I could have a replacement I'd prefer... Not so funny to have to unroot e reroot every time... And my DZ has many scratches...

Whoa! The terrible translation made my day! Mirrors climbing on deep hardware understanding lol! No offense to the OP at all. This was too funny! There was another one by a Chinese member the other day that was even better: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1607345 Google's translator needs some serious work!

Nono yeah, as a matter of fact I translated it by myself, I thought that mirror climbing was an english espression too. Here in Italy means trying to find reasons to support something when you know it's very difficult or even impossible, like mirrors climbing. The second part meant that my reasons had to be related to hardware, so I needed someone skilled enought to be able to find a connection between volume and keyboard, should have been deep understanding of hardware, but I'd modified the title so it was wrogn at the end...
Sorry
Ps I'm sure I've read 'mirror climbing' in english somewhere
Edit: checked and it's used in Italian also with these English words, so I've seen it on an Italian site written in English... You should thank me now if you come to Italy, you'll be able to use a new sentence

Whoops! I thought it was a bad Google translation again Mirrors climbing sounds poetic really. It definitely caught my attention. Good to know though. Makes sense... Like climbing on a slippery surface. It may be an English saying also but I've never heard it. Thanks for the laugh and the information!
Packed it and going to send it to HTC saying it has had two times hw buttons related problems in less than six months...
let's cross the fingers... (this I know for sure is said also in english! )
It's "Fingers crossed".
Good luck!
