I've seen other threads on this but they were from some time back so I was wondering whether the SG2 getting really hot near the camera was an issue that has been fixed with an update?
I've only had my phone for a couple of days and was just using MAME when it got really quite hot on the back near the camera. Is this a bad thing? Can the phone handle it? I stopped playing just in case it was going to damage the phone.
This is normal. It is a thin phone. If you really want to play with less heat, just clock it at 800Mhz and switch off a core. It'll handle it perfectly like all the other single core are doing. Only difference you'll see is that loading time be slower.
Custom Rom
Or just use a Custom rom Like Checkrom - that will handle the heat problem better by using another Voltage. And your Phone is (i think) a bit faster with that rom.
But there are many other Roms here in the Forum.

Nope, Mame is an arcade emulator http://www.mamedev.org . It's been around for ages an older version has now been ported to Android and is available from the market.

I read that well, we are limited to 2 fingers because of kernel headers, so nothing to be done there.
But I wanted to state that the controller in the Atrix is capable of "ture 12-bit multiple touch with independent XY tracking for up to 10 concurrent touches in real time with touch size reporting". source
That does not only mean we got up to 10 touches capacity, but that features that involve touch size are available. That means that when-if the bootloader gets cracked-sidestepped we could enable function to lock the screen like the Zune, where putting a big touch size locks the screen. A very useful thing especially if you put it in your pocket (facing your leg)
..................
Forgive my ignorance, but what's the use of more than 2 fingers touching the screen?
I've bought my Atrix but haven't started using it yet , wanna root, install custom and invisible shield b4

I heard this from another forum member and haven't tried it, but I believe Cut the Rope can use more than two touches. Is it even on the Market though...?
I haven't seen any apps/games that use more than 2 touches, but I'm sure there is good potential for some.
Basically it would be like a Apple touch pad for using swipe, double swipe or triple swipe.
I do, was trying to play xenogears on FPse earlier on, then I realise I'm stuck at the bloody forest part when u need to simultaneously press O and triangle as well as the directional pad to jump onto the huge tree trunk in order to move on to the next area.
SNES, PSX, GENESIS and other emulators may require 3+ touch.

Does anyone has a compatible apk for galaxy tab 10.1?
I have this one: http://sebyku.3x.ro/android/com.onlive.client-1.apk
But it gives me Network Test Failed.
Works perfectly for me, i used the first link you just posted. Now lets try to figure out how to get a sixxaxis controller working with it.
THIS IS AMAZING TECHNOLOGY.
you have galaxy tab 10.1? I can't download in my country can you provide me your apk file?
works perfectly* for me!
*by perfectly I mean installs and runs without issue. The graphics are still just as muddy and the controls just as laggy as last I tried it though! (I have 30mb cable internet so it's not that!)
Doesn't help that I have an über gaming PC to compare it to...
Impressive for thin client tablet gaming though!
+1 same problem

anyone tried running nintendo64 rom emulator? i tried that n64 app: mupen64plus AE
with killerinstinct2GOLD game zip rom and it still lags! i guess 2gb ram doesn't cut it
or it might be just the app that makes it laggy(music choppy, screen flickers)
No, it's probably not a phone problem, but the app just sucks.
I recommend N64oid (google it) and sideload the app. It worked flawlessly on my old Flipside, which is a single core 720MHz and 512mb RAM.

Mupen64Plus, AE clearly states it's unstable and in beta. The dev has lots of other things going on in his life, so development has been very slow recently. Over time, it should eventually surpass N64oid (seeing as N64oid's likely been abandoned), though N64oid is currently much faster and more stable (as it was developed for much longer).
N64oid is pretty decent. I ran mario cart 64 with no lag on my captivate. As far as Mupen64plus goes, as previously stated, its still under development. A sloow, loongg and haard development.

Sry. I dont have the cappy anymore, gave it to my brother. But I did run few games on it, when I had it, like mario cart 64, star fox 64, golden eye 007 and donkey kong 64, all of them ran with little or no lag on the cappy. I would assume the N4, with its S4 Pro and the 320 gpu would be able to handle that with no problem. As far as having issues with certain roms, it could just be the rom itself. Also on the cappy, I played pokemon fire red, using gameboid, and I had 2 different roms for the same game and one of them did run better then the other. ....killerinstinct....nostalgia. good times. :highfive:
I tried playing Smash Bros on it and some characters were missing eyes, such as Mario and Yoshi..
Also the screen flickers quite a bit, messed with some of the settings a bit but it wouldn't solve it. :/

I've installed N64oid on my Nexus 4 and tried to run Ocarina of Time. Though it is decent, there is still a lot of frame drop. My assumption is that the phone shouldn't have any problem given the specs it has and that there is something that I can do to make this run a lot smoother.
Try this emulator.

I don't see N64 on this.
The really best way to play n64 games is to buy a n64 i suggest.
I know OpenGL ES 3 needs to support it first, I also know that in order for the OUYA to support it(hardware wise), there are some pre-req's. The apk from Play works, but of course crashes when loading a game. Is there any chance of getting support for our OUYA's?

This isn't the first/only revision of the OUYA, so shouldn't we be planning ahead? If we can dev now, get things at least running on OUYA. When the latest & greatest OUYA comes out, things can implemented and fine tuned! Whadda think?

I think that because it's being developed for android in general, little work needs to be done to get it running on the 'ouya 2'. But it's relatively pointless to have it running on the og ouya. There's virtually no difference between the ouya and any other Android device...

I have a fast custom built PC:
i7 3770k, 16gb ram + GTX650Ti graphics and it ever struggles at times to emulate some games using Dolphin.
Therefore I would say Ouya 2 whatever specs it may be will not come close to achieving this.
I cant see this being viable in a portable device for several years.
Not sure why someone is developing this just now when we still cant perfectly emulate N64 / Dreamcast etc.

Does it struggle on native resolution, or do you have the graphics turned up (on your PC)?
I think developing Dolphin for Android is a great idea. Even if we can't use it now, it will be very nice to use as soon as the tech is available.

+1 the more the marrier. Ps2 emulation would be sweet now too since its a dated platform.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Neither of these will work well, they are difficult to emulate on n Pc, ps2 requires more power to emulate well than the Wii does... I can't get Gt4 to run well to save my life on my i7-680, with a mediocre graphics card (that still outperforms the Ouya by a long shot) Wii emulation might be possible at a very low resolution if OpenGL ES 3.0 ever works on the Ouya, and if the software is heavily optimized, and if we are significantly over clocked. Lol

except that the cpu/gpu is not underclocked at all and has an active cooling solution, which cannot be done in other android devices due to size/form factor, and power restrictions for portability.
It is after all it is a t33 tegra which is the fasted one available and uses ddr3 ram at 1600mhz.
Still much slower than a Snapdragon 600, which is the only thing that will run this right now (and even that runs it poorly)

by the numbers I can agree, except that the T33 on this particular platform doesn't need to be throttled or "woken up". If the Ouya had a snapdragon 600 setup in this fashion, I believe it would be amazing, but the underlying problem in this case isn't the hardware, it is the gimped version of the OS.
If we see an CM version for the ouya, I believe we could see a renaisance with the device (as with others that have gotten this treatment).
Oh and I got my wife's i3 based intel 3000 graphics sony laptop to run Super Smash Brother Melee, so low end pc hardware can do it.
