Phone messed up after recovery - Xperia Play General

So phone has been randomly locking up and just going really slow, like taking 2-3 minutes just to load contacts or a text message. So I did the factory reset from privacy settings. After doing that my home key no longer works, when I get a text it makes no sound, and the notification vol is turned all the way up, and worst of all, calls are just going straight to voicemail. When someone calls, it rings on their end but my phone doesn't show I'm getting a call, nothing at all, voice mail forwarding is disabled. Tried doing the reset again from the privacy settings and still doing this. Any ideas on how to fix this?

More info
My phone is at&t branded, so r800at, the phone is rooted with a locked bootloader.
Will any of the tools be able to restore this correctly and fix the issue, like SEUS, or any others I have seen people mention in the forums?

Is your phone rooted? if so are you still running stock or are you running a ROM? if you answer yes to any of these questions, then you should have some recovery partition like clockworkMOD... and if you do try to boot into that recovery and do data/factory reset from there and see what happens.

After recovery you say? But you have a locked bootloader? You can't flash recovery into the phone if your bootloader is locked. It needs to be unlocked to even be able to flash and use recovery. Try using flashtool or something and flash original firmware.

[Q] I screwed up my brightness.

I wad messing around with a widget and lowered the brightness on the screen to much and the screen dosent come on where I can see the on screen buttons. Is there any way to reset the brightness by remote or reset the whole phone by the buttons on the phone. The phone is rooted.
These threads *might* help...

I have tried everythingto get it to come back. those posts dont help me much in my problem. i have tried the odin flash and tried restoring the sysmtem diretory but still no screen i dont know if i need to do the kernel and the recovery part of odin. this sucks the most because where i am at this thanksgiving i have no internet access.
I actually just did this to my phone a week back.. this is how I got it back. I started to call my own phone with someone elses phone and once out of every about 5 calls my screen would turn on for a second so I kept doing that until it stayed on long enough for me to go and change the brightness back. lol I know its not a full proof fix but thats what did it for me..
IF you have a nandroid backup, you can boot into recovery and restore that backup. That's what I did when it happened to me.
I wish they'd get this problem fixed. Most apps that adjust brightness fixed it, but apparently not all of them.
I never made a backup of the system. The the call idea I just made ten calls to my phone and no luck any other ideas.
i tried put my phone back in stock factory reset using odin. the threads are located under development and its pinned
or
u can just get a replacement if ur under return policy
I tried the stock reset to factory with Odin but my screen still disentangle come on.
i recall someone saying that flashing Clockworkmod Recovery fixed this for them
Now that im back home from vacation and have internet i can figure it out. Like i said i tried the stock rom and no go then i tried the Clockworkmod and no go, i cant use the rom manager because i cant see the screen to use it. as for the update.zip in the root of the sdcard (/sdcard) i did that and held volume up when i turned on the phone and went to run the update.zip from the recovery menu and it says it cant find it.
Did you install Clockwork with Odin?
Yes and im going to try it again now that im at home.
with clockwork i can get in but as i try to sign into google the screen goes black and i cant get it to turn back on.
I can get it to start up in the recovery menu choose to wipe data/factory reset, then restart. it starts up but screen dosent come on. plug it into my computer screen comes on try to get to settings and shuts off and after to start over again.
Would it be possible to dump my wifes phone rom to the computer and use that to start off with or will that screw everything up.
Maybe try this?

After playing for two hours I finally got it to work.what was happening was the phone will go to sleep and I couldn't unlock it after the screen shutoff. But I kept the screen alive long enough to reset the brightness.
Now the big problem is I can't log into my Google account, I can't do it though wiring or 3g any ideas.

LG G2 soft bricked (DO NOT WANT TO FACTORY RESET)

I installed a software update and it asked me to install it, so i did after that i rebooted and thats when it all happened.
The main reason I do not want to factory reset is because I have photos that I didn't get the chance to backup. So if there is a way to avoid factory resetting or a way I could somehow access photos, backup it up then factory reset.
My phone is stock, it has been rooted before though if that matters. As i turn the phone on LG logo shows up, straight after that i get text on the top left of the screen saying "boot cerfification verify" and other stuff then goes into a black screen and stays like that until I turn it off.
- Not able to get into download mode
- CAN GET INTO RECOVERY BUT I WANT TO AVOID IT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

If you can get into recovery, you can export your photos to the computer by using adb pull.
There might be another way but this is how I know

New/Stock Oneplus Two, unable to boot into recovery

Hey all, completely new to this forum and my Oneplus Two that I've had for a little over two weeks.
I recently got a OTA update for Oxygen 2.2.0 but I can't seem to install it. Everytime I download it and click the "install" option, the phone reboots (probably to go to recovery) but after a very brief splash screen and a vibration, it vibrates again and displays the standard boot splash screen, boots into the OS and offers me to download the update again.
I've done a little troubleshooting in the past two-three days and from what I understand, the phone doesn't seem to be able to boot into recovery or fastboot. I've enabled the advanced options in the "reboot" menu and when selecting "recovery" the phone reboots and does the same behavior described above. I tried powering off the phone and booting with the volume up button pressed (while pressing power) and the phone boots and displays a "Fastboot Mode" splash screen but it seems to hang there forever until I actually shut it off again and power it back on. Also, I've tried booting it into recovery from ADB, connected to my PC and I get the same behavior: brief splash screen with a vibrate and then the phone seems to reboot again normally.
I haven't tampered with the phone yet, it is brand new out of the box, not rooted and nothing other than simply installing a few games, Nova Launcher, changing the wallpaper and using it as you would normally use your phone.
Anyone has an idea how I could actually get the Recovery functioning on this phone?
Best regards and thanks in advance for any help!

That is the norm for fastboot, it doesn't go past that screen.
It may not make a difference, did you try to boot to recovery via Power+Volume Down buttons?
Greetings Khaos64,
Yes, I've tried booting with Vol-Down+Power but the phone does not start.
With volume-up+power, I get the Fastboot splash screen but the phone does not respond to any input.
I tried selecting "bootloader" from the reboot menu but I get the same thing: Reboots and after a second, the phone reboots again normaly and into OxygenOS.
Is there a way to verify if the bootloader or recovery is corrupt and maybe reflash the stock recovery onto the phone?
Thanks for your input!
You may just want to go straight to oneplus support since everything is stock and only 2 weeks they should be able to get you updated or replace it.
If you'd like to be more hands on... maybe something below can help.
So your phone isn't recognized/no commands acceptred from your computer when booted to fastboot?
Such as unlocking your bootloader and booting into twrp... "fastboot boot yourfilename.img" or maybe flashing it.
Make sure OEM unlocking is selected in Developer options.
If you can't do that then this may not work but is worth a shot.

I did try to contact Oneplus for support but I am not the one who purchased the phone. Long story short, it was a gift from my girlfriend that she bought off of someone. The phone was new in box and was a warranty replacement. I would have to contact the seller and go trough him for support unfortunately.
Thanks for the different suggestions!, I will fiddle around with it this afternoon while the kids are having their mid-day nap and I'll get back with the results
Thanks again for the help, it's greatly appreciated!
Hello,
I eventually started fiddling around with fasboot and tried unlocking the bootloader. This sent the phone into a bootloop where it would try to boot into recovery and reboot right away.
I found an article on how to restore the phone to Oxygen 2.1.1. It would wipe user data but I did it anyway and it actually did restore the phone and now I have a worling recovery.
Here is a link to the guide I used:

Thanks again for the help in solving my issue
Congratulations hope you enjoy the phone

Help Exposed Installation gone wrong

Hey, so I have had my phone rooted for a long time. I have a Galaxy S5 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
I decided I wanted to get Framework installed so I downloaded the right files and flashed it in TWRP.
My phone took way longer than 10 min to reboot into system so I thought I was stuck in a bootloop and decided to run my phone through TWRP again.
I tried rebooting but that didn't work. I have my phone's backup saved onto a micro SD so I did a factory reset and then tried rebooting.
I got past the rebooting logo and actually got to my lock screen where it asks for my password.
From there, I've been getting spammed with 3 different messages, one saying that IMS service is down, com.sec.vsimservice is down, and WfcService is down.
After I press ok to all 3 of the messages, my phone is still in the lock screen asking for my password but the phone doesn't recognize that im touching the screen to type. After letting the phone stay like that for a few minutes, the lock screen that asks for my password goes away and all I can see is my wallpaper background (no notification panel either) but now the phone recognizes me touching the screen ( I know that because the LED lights up for the windows button and back button )
So basically I decided to go into TWRP and flash my recovery that I had saved on the microSD.
After that didn't work, I've just been going through a series of factory resetting my phone and wiping Dalvik files and then flashing my recovery. My phone is getting unrealistically hot too.
Btw I never downloaded the Exposed Uninstaller from the forum so I tried downloading it onto my pc and then sending the file over to my phone through download mode using Odin so that I could flash the uninstaller through my TWRP but that didn't work because the PDA in Odin does not recognize the uninstaller file.
Please, I really need help and thanks to anyone who tries, it would mean a lot if someone could figure out what I can do. Thanks.
Since you've tried restoring your backup and everything seems to have failed (it sucks, I know) you should try to install a completely stock firmware which you can download from here: http://live.samsung-updates.com/index.php?device=SM-G900I Just make sure you select your exact phone model from the dropdown menu at the top right side as you didn't mentioned which of the 40 S5s you have lol. And after you flash stock firmware and successfully boot up try to restore your backup. If it's still bugged - flash stock again and start off fresh. Let me know how it turns out. I'll help with installing xposed later as well, first let's get your phone running again

Stuck in bootloop, any way to recover?

My phone randomly rebooted today and now i'm stuck in a bootloop. not took a backup in ages and I have quite a bit of data that I don't wanna lose. is there any possible way to fix this? I believe a dirty flash should at least allow me to get back into the system and let me back stuff up but I'm not sure which custom firmware i'm on its been that long. is there any possible way to find this out from bootloader or recovery mode?

You cannot read out which rom you have from recovery or bootloader. Is your bootloader locked? Do you have twrp? Which device?
You can try to power off your phone by pressing the power button for 2 minutes and then start it. Also powering off and charging it to 100% can help.
Hello, I made a wipe cache in TWRP and then restart by pressing the volume up until the system starts
Good luck to you
