I'v tryed both ROM's out and have found that the latest versions of Cronos Ginger x seem to be faster and a little bit more than the latest CM 7 on the Hero but would like to know what you guys guys think about both. I know both have there bugs but to me Cronos Ginger x seems more pure AOSP than CM 7 does now and i like the fact that Cronos Ginger x seems to be doing its own thing more and more unlike other ROM's that build of CM 7.
Cronos FTW
Cronos is way faster that CM7 amd is pretty much the same but a little more tweaks added go with Cronos i was running 2.4.0 but changed to Floyo because i'm too used to it

Please everyone vote for ur favorite ....its hard to decide now
Right now I think the BeHero 1.2.1...all works so good
Tried the 0.1 of HeroDroid...nice ROM but a there are some horrible bugs right now!
Not tried the last 3.1 VillianROM (but the old 2.1 \ 3.0 beta 1 are crap)!
For me Raidroid is much smoother than BeHero 1.2 ( I Did not try out 1.2.1 yet )
HeroDroid should be the snappiest one. but the latest VillainROM is a well-rounded one. Vote for nprussell and the whole android community!
BeHero is the fastest and smooth ever on Android 2.1 with SenseUi for our Hero.
The vanillian ROM is working great for me, I am waiting on battery life to be the deciding factor. SO far so good, some people have reported drastic battery drain on the heroDroid ROM
I just flashed VillianROM because of previous quality ROMs. No other reasons... however we will see where we will end...

edit: ****, posted in wrong thread, mod? delete? :/
Lets face it...MDJ isn't coming back anytime soon (If ever!) and frankly he has left quite a few people that use his ROMS in the cold.
So, in my unsuccessful quest to find a replacement ROM, does anyone have any suggestions on a Android NAND ROM as a replacement for MDJs Gingerbread CM7 Roms?
If its not listed in the POLL, just post below and I will add it.
Never tried gingerbread roms for real before so I wouldn't know sorry. However from my past experience with JDMS Ultimate Droid, I would recommend you trying crawlingcity's Ultimate Droid 3.1
The build i'm using now is gauner's desire z build. Just sticking to Froyo until enough apps get updated to gingerbread.
I would suggest Ultimate Droid 3.01.
Fast clean and reliable I have not encountered anything that does not work.
Fast boot time takes about 1 minute.
Cheers..
For me this rom is allmost close to perfect:
skink Clean Desire v1.2
Stable, fast and nice . I like Sense. Thank you

Ultimate Droid, Picks up where cm7 lets off
I need the fastest ROM. The one which uses least resources. Which is it?
I need memory for apps to start, so I need basic ROM with low resource usage.
Thank u!
My experience : Froydvillain (vanilla based on 2.2.1)
Sense: VillainROM 13 (Android 2.1)
AOSP: Elelinux Speedmachine (Froyo) or Gingerbread 1.9
1) VillainRom 13 (Ecclair + HTC Sense)
2) Chronos Ginger 2.0.1 (Gingerbread)
3) FroydVillain
VillainRom 13 is definitely "extremely" responsive compared to the others, although they are also quite fast.
I can not install any app from Maket in my Villainrom 13, anyone else has the same problem to me ?
According to my experience:
With sense(android 2.1)- VillianROM 13
Without sense(Android 2.2)- Cyanogen Mod 6.1 + Flykernel 12a to 652Mhz Max.
I am using Elelinux Speedmachine v3 /Froyo... works perfectly and fast for me.
Cronos ginger 2.0.1 is fast for gingerbread.no bug
Sent from my HTC Hero using XDA App
Hey guys! Ive been working on some mods and theming on gingerbread miui roms in the past week.. Now that I see something getting in shape I want to know people's opinions on the best gingerbread miui rom for the swift..
Also let me know if you know a good and stable gb miui for another device which is also ARMv6..
Thanks!
The best miui's we have are HTX miui by Koloses and V-MIUI v3 by TMinh, both seem to be very stable as they're based on the same rom ( CM 7.2 by tejas ) Koloses miui is little faster because it was resized to mdpi but it's little bugged.
