Hello.
A friend of mine has a problem with his A501. He used Safe Backup for backing up his device to external SD. By accident it backs up to internal SD. For a short time he saw an info which says 'internal SD is full', than his A501 turns off. Since than it stucks while booting. It shows 'Acer' and stucks at 'android'. He has no chance to reset his device through settings, tried it with the reset 'hole' but no success. Any idea how I can help him?

Have you tried holding power and volume down, then rocking volume to clear it yet?.

Her phone is not rooted and she didn't try to mess with it. She was just charging it and it just stays stuck on the "mytouch 4g" screen. I can get into the recovery but none of the options work. I press on factory reset but it just gets stuck on the mytouch screen and nothing happens.I've left it for like 15 mins and nothing happens. Does anyone know what is wrong with it. Not even factory reset works

Try downloading the unrooted gingerbread update in the Mt4g forums and flash it if you get the pu fail error then the phone is dead but you can get a free replacement from tmobile if that is the case

The phone turns on so I don't know why it would be "dead" I mean it's not bricked. Also can't get a new one bought it on craigslist a while back.

clicked on fastboot (cuz bootloader option is in there) and gave me some lines and said wrong image or file). And when I click on it again it now gives me the option to select bootloader (first time it didn't even give me an option to click on bootloader option it just ran by it self) and it just goes back to the original screen that says fastboot, recovery, factory reset, sim lock, and image crc. And yes I did rename it and put it in the root of my SD card
I still hit the thanks button for trying to help me out.

Try doing it again from fastboot make sure the file is named correctly
The filename should be PD15IMG.zip
Make sure its spelled exactly the way I typed it

Hey all,
I have just factory reset my phone and I can't get it to boot. It is stuck on the htc start up screen. No buttons work. How long should I wait before I know something is wrong? I tried downgrading with AAHK and it restarted my phone and it has been like that ever since.
Is it bricked? And I couldn't get around to installing ClockWorkMod onto it.
Thanks
When the phone is off, volume down + power to get into hboot. If its still S ON you can't flash anything on it. AAHK can root. Downgrading and restoring to stock with a Froyo RUU a device that has been shipped with Gingerbread WILL get you jammed like that for sure.

Sorry I'm a bit of a noob at this. What do you mean S ON? And is my phone stuffed?
Power + Volume down for about 5 seconds. Write everything it says once you get into boot. Then we'll talk.

Okay so, I managed to use that PG...IMG thingo and I managed to use that to get my phone up and running. It's running at 2.2 right now and I'm not getting any system updates. This was after factory resetting it. I'm meant to be updated at 2.3.5. Is there a problem now?
Did you root or not?

Sorry for the long reply , was out of town for a few days with no internet . Phone is all fixed now rooted and installed with a ICS ROM
I have a Huawei u8800-51 that I tried to install the official 2.2.2 ROM from Huawei, File name "U8800V100R001C00B138SP04CUSTESTC205D001 (Estonia Elisa)". I double checked that it wasn't the pro file.
It went through both steps fine, and said upgrade complete Rebooting. When it "Reboot", it vibrated slightly, but went no further, only a black screen. I left it alone for about 10 minutes, in case it was part of the upgrade process, but it never powered back on. I tried to reboot manually, with the same results, just a short vibration, and black screen. I have searched high and low, to no avail. I have tried putting the same dload file from the file on the SD card, pull the battery and plug to computer ( one of the possible fixes that I found ), but again, same results.
Is the phone officially bricked now, or can it be recovered? ANY help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
You installed u8800 rom to u8800-51???

I was jumping back and forth between here, rootzwiki and another site, hard to follow the trail. I did do a backup in CWM Recovery, but I couldn't get into recovery to try to restore.
Ended up taking the phone into AT&T, told them the hone wouldn't boot after an update. They replaced the phone, no charge.

Somewhere in the sticky section of this forum should be "Back the kcuf up!" with links to image backup instructions. I have started doing it routinely. I bricked my phone this morning with a mundane font manager (who'd a thunk?). An hour later it was working just fine.

Absolutely. I made one paperweight that CWM refused to restore from a blue screen. I have two scripts:
#!/bin/bash
dd if=/dev/sdb of=u8800.img bs=512
#!/bin/bash
dd if=u8800.img of=/dev/sdb bs=512
I'm sure that there is a WinDoze equivalent. Before installing any app that needs root, I do a complete BU.
My LG-E612G was restored but had something worrying saying ".android_secure.img not found! Skipping restore of .android_secure.img!"
I then just shrugged it off, but when I rebooted it and got to my unlock screen, it powers off.
I already did a full wipe and restore. Now what?

I think that means there is no file for apps on external memory, don't worry, our phones don't support that.
After a restore over time (i mean, restore a back-up from a month ago) you have to wipe cahce & dalvik cache after restore
Try it

so i installed CWM on my verizon G2. I went into recovery and wiped data. When it was formatting cache, it looked like it froze because it was taking forever. So i held the power button down so that i can reboot it. Now whenever i try to boot it back up, it stays on the LG screen for a couple minutes and stays on the ground zero roms boot up screen. Is there a way to get into recovery from boot? I've flashed many ROM's on many phone but i need help please so i can get my phone back up and running. Thank you

Yes. You will get the factory screen. Do it. Press the power button twice. Trust me it will boot into cwm.
This is twrp but watch this video I made if you have doubt's. If you properly installed cwm which you probably did considering you wiped your data. This will work.
