Hello everybody,
a rather odd thing happened to me: after the latest update to cm7-111107[unofficial] from genokolar I am not able to download most apps from the market (including Flash player and even Angry Birds!). It says the applications were not compatible with my device (U8800). But I had no problems with the versions before, as exactly the same apps installed just fine! I've checked both build.prop files and there are virtually no differences. Does anyone experience the same issue? And what reasons for incompatibility are there besides the device settings in the build.prop? Clearing the market data doesn't help. And I did a full wipe, cleared system, data and cache partition and dalvik cache...
Thanks in advance!
Edit: I found the key problem. At least for me it was... In the build.prop there is an option "qemu.sf.lcd_density" which I Set to 220. Back to 240 and everything is working fine again. Just a littlebit bigger. But you can change this after the installation of the desired programs. Never thought this entry was the reason. But anyway thanks for your answers to my question.
Huh weird.... everything works for me and I also have the latest cm7.

Hi last few builds ive used cant seem to find apps like paypal or norton security etc.
Ive checked all locations in settings and they seem fine and also set the market as orange UK.
Is there anything else I need to change so they show?
Currently using Beta2 of the Desire HD rom.
Try using Market Enabler
I had the problem with my current build (see sig).
I read somewhere that I needed to install the Eris Market Fix app from the market, which I did but it didn't fix the problem, at least immediately.
Apparently you also need to clear the cache in some occasions too. It's only after clearing the cache that it worked as normal. well at least I think that I cleared the cache, since i emptied the cache folder from within my android folder. give it a try!
Already tried the market enabler. Have just tried that market fix and also cleared cahce and rebooted but still same problem
Thnx for suggestions guys, any more?
Then download your desired app from your computer then transfer it to your pc I think it should work this way

Do you mean transfer it to phone from pc?, yeah obviously that would work but thats besides the point. Im trying to get market to work properly
Besides I cant find what im looking for elsewhere, cant find updated versions of Paypal or Norton anywhere only links to them on market which do not work.
Thnx for suggestion though.

Long story short, i accidentally formatted my sd yesterday, which sucked, but i had an sd backup from when i had my cliq that still had the majority of my apps...so i performed my titanium restore but ONLY third party apps (cliq is 1.5, vibrant is 2.1...duh).
Ever since that, whenever i try to download from the market i get stuck at "starting download"....no one else i know who uses android is having this problem today.....so i went ahead and started new seperate google account just to test, and everything on that account downloads fine. WHATS UP WITH THAT?? on my regular i tried deleting cache and data but it didnt work (and yes, gmail and gtalk are open)
anyone have any ideas for me?

ACTUALLY if you read both posts, they are completely different. the Q&A post was to see if anyone else is having this issue....then once i determined that my issue is unique, i posted this seperate explanation and events leading up to my problem. each post had a different purpose and goal, but thanks for your wonderful and helpful input....oh, and of course, your investigative efforts, they should DEFINATELY make you a moderator!!!!!!
menu settings, show all, go to market and clear cache/data
go to titanium backup, menu, more, market doctor.
Reboot.
Should no longer have a problem. This is not UNIQUE

Wait, all the .apk files were on your EXTERNAL sd card? and not in data/apps?
Curious if running fix permissions would work... have you tried that via CWR?

i see you're running bionix fusion. did you flash the SSL fix provided in the OP? i was having the same issues for days before i realized i didn't do that. for some reason i thought it was included. anyway, hope your issue is as easy to fix as that.
My market issue all downloads disappeared today? I had uninstalled 2.2 version of the market but still same issue.

Hello!
It's my first post so I hope everything I write here is in correct place. I wanna add that I was searching for similar threads so I think I didn't miss anything. My problem is that:
I registred at Market with my old GMAIL account, and I can download any free apps but when I wanna buy something and I press to buy for example 0.69p button I see next page and instantly message appears that: "Error has occured, please try again." I tried through my PC, I went to market and buy something, I add card etc everything happen correctly I even have my application on phone without doing anything, but still after many reboots the problem isn't solved. I have to add that I live in UK and installed CM7 today so maybe I have to update something or so. (Tried restart.)
Thank you kindly,
Rec.

are you using the new market/ what lcd_density are you using?
Well I don't even know how to update Android Market, and I just use one provided with software after installation. I downloaded from Market LCD Density for Root app and when I run It I see that default is 240, so I think this is my density, otherwise I don't know how to check it if it's wrong.
Thanks.
Edit:
Sorry I am blind I didn't provide information of ROM, it's: TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 Nightly v3.7.3[2.3.7][A2SD][tytung r12.4v3]
use market 3.1.5. I have also this issue after using market 3.2
Can I ask how to do it ? Since I found 3.1.5 apk file but it is impossible to overwrite it or even remove higher version of market. I don't know if it matters but when I try to install for example themes etc through clockwork I also have this issue:
Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported.
Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5.
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the ClockworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages.

Hope it is also important.

Any possibility for getting any tutorial how to do it ? I was trying a lot of methods and nothing. I would be very thankfull for any help.

I'm assuming that many people do have market working on the Typhoon build, and therefore there must be something wrong with my set up....
if everyone had to downgrade market surely the typhoon thread would be loaded with comments on it!
So I'm tempted to just go for a full blank and reinstall...task 29, reinstall CWM clear out caches and dalvik cache from CWM, reinstalled Typhoon and see....
trouble is I'm not sure if that really clears everything, and might make it work....so some advice on getting it right would be appreciated.....as it takes time to get it all set up again, as I'd assume best not to use any backed up info/data/settings from Nandroid or titaniam in case what ever is causing the problem gets restored......
Cheers again for any advice
K
So I have tried clearing caches from ROM manager, CWM, rebooting....
I can see this question asked in the Typhoon thread, at least twice with no answer (I can't yet post there).
BTW I can buy Apps from Market on the PC and it sucesfully installs on the HD2...so I think my accounts stuff is all fine.
So I guess the info I'm looking for if a specific fix is not known is "how to do a real and total wipe" - I'm confused by what Task29 does, and what I need to do to "blank" the SD card.....which I assume I should also do?
Any hints/steps?
or even any idea of if a total blank will help?

I wrote this on another thread I created.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20370071#post20370071
Hello all okay so I have another issue I ran into with Tytung's ICS ROM for the HD2.
When I go into the Marketplace I am able to download free apps and/or apps I have previously purchased but when I go to purchase a new app I get the error: "An error occurred. Please try again". I am able to purchase it online and it will send to the phone and download, I am able to purchase apps on my Motorola Defy running CM7, I have even tried wiping the the phone data & cache and wiping dalvic and re-installing but this still didn't work. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Hope you can help.
I had this same issue with Tytungs Nexus ROM, but I also had other issues where software switches would be changed e.g. mobile data etc.
When the latest update arrived I decided to do a fresh install, task29, radio, MAGLDR, format SD, the works.
Now the market purchase works perfectly, it was probably one crummy corrupt bit somewhere in the phone but couldn't find it.
Following the instructions on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351283 I got market installed. But whenever I try to install anything from the market, the app will crash, and will continue to force close whenever I try to open it again. Reinstalling didn't help. I tried several versions of the market, the vending.apk, com.amarket.apk and even the newer 3.4.4 version found elsewhere. Anyone else has Market running without crashing?
Experiencing the same thing. I did not edit the OTAInstaller file and am curious if I could have received the udpate somewhere in the background. Is that possible?
**Rooted pre update using OneClick. Used the Utility and TWRP to install CM7. Everything other than market is working great. Thanks to all of the developers. Job well done**
I have LG Optimus One (P500), had the same problem now. Problem started probably when I installed flash player. Problem solved by clear dalvik cache.
---- problem solved ----
P.S. It has nothing to do with Market - I forgot to set Droidwall to allow Market and Googleserviceframework

By doing what? Clearing Dalvik?
Sent from my rough sketch of a Vibrant on a brick.
I have the same problem, and it seems that my KF stopped to download apps from the market (it's v6.2.1 and rooted).
I don't think I've installed Droidwall (intentionally) and I don't know what Dalvik is

Hello
I have this problem. whenever I open play store and apply updates or install new apps, the play store crashes and the updates are interrupted until I re-open it and resume the update manually. This doesn't seem to happen when the updates are done in the background automatically without opening the store first. I have already tried uninstalling, deleting cache and data, reboot etc. but the problem persists.
I have the Samsung Galaxy note 3 SM-N9005 LTE version with rooted kitkat 4.4.2

I see that very few people have this very annoying issue
I just don't want to resort to factory reset. I mean I know it will probably fix it but I just don't feel like setting my phone up again from the start which is time consuming, besides, what would be the purpose of this wonderful community if all problems were solved by wiping up one's phone.
I was wondering if the cause could be some poor memory management or bad cleaning/anti-virus apps interfering with the memory management I mean I am a complete noob in terms of android management but I assume when there are multiple apps being downloaded/updated at the same time it must consume a great deal of resources but for an app to crash without even the popup message that says "....has stopped" I have never seen before

Maybe you try to get a appstore.apk, delete your's wipe Cache and then install the apk.
I would also recommend data wipe though cause with backup (I use titanium) it'll be less time consuming than everything else. Just backup user data and you won't have to set it up again. The thing is it's not guaranteed that the problem lies within playstore and since we don't have your phone in our hands it is nearly impossible to point you to the exact fix.

well... speaking of backup I also use titanium and nandroid, thank god for that because earlier I tried something stupid (suggested here on XDA though) I cleared the app store cache and data which is fine because I did it before with no problem but then I cleared the google services framework data/cache, I wish I hadn't because it literally messed everything up. I was unable to connect at all to the store even though I had a good network connection. thank god it worked again after I restored the app/data
I can live with that issue. it's not such a hassle since I usually check the play store for updates every day at least. but I may try your first suggestion though. thanks 4aces

As you wish b careful though. I think (definitely not 100% sure) you have to put the apk file in device/system/apk with es file Explorer or root Explorer and than put the permission to rw rr.
That's why I recommend full wipe.

thanks for the link. maybe I could try to update it as my version is 4.6.17 which is older than 4.8.19 and see if there is a change. One thing I don't understand is that one can only disable it and not uninstall it so does that mean it's a system app even though it's not in the /system/app folder? should I convert it to user app with titanium prior to update?

From what I read so far it is implemented in system and not so easy to mess with. In the link above is a link back to xda. It'll be best if u read it.

One more suggestion. Try to open application manager in settings and select all. Look for download manager and clear the cache then reboot.
If it doesn't help wait for other replies or wipe data will have to do the work.

I tried that but didn't help. then I tried to update and move to system, made it even worse as play store crashed as soon as I hit the update button. Reinstalling the app wouldn't help so I had to restore a nandroid backup. I'm giving up now but won't waste time doing a wipe data because it's not a real issue since I'm able to update anyway by hitting the button and close play store right after. All my apps still update in the background anyway
