There are a LOT of roms and there are a LOT of updates. The hard work of the devs is clearly visible, however it is a pain in the a## to find for example a froyo sense rom or froyo cm rom.
What I suggest is this:
*As subforums to the the nand dev forum
HD2 Android NAND Development
- AOSP ROMS
- SENSE ROMS
- MIUI ROMS
- Misc ROMS
- KERNEL dev
- General FIXES dev (it could even be read only for non recognized devs)
Having this could greatly lower the length of the title in roms and the first item in the title could be the android version.
I would even go as far as offering my help as a temp mod to tidy up into this configuration or something we would most agree on.
like this?

Custom Roms vs. Dev Roms
What do we see as the difference between Custom Roms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Supersonic/ROMs#Custom_ROMS) and Dev Roms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Supersonic/ROMs#Dev-ROMs)?
All Roms are pretty much under constant development. I think these two tables should be combined.
Added CyanogenMod wiki page
Wiki page devoted to our favorite community based AOSP ROM

Missing a theme? Or other key information? Let us know.
don't know if this thread is still active, but as I'm unfamiliar with editing wikis, but I'm full of ideas (and I have a big mouth), I thought I'd list some discussion items here. I'm working on the assumption that the wiki should be one of the, if not the, first place new users shouldbe looking to get information.
1 - remove the radios from the rom section, and give it it's own section on the main wiki page - it's too confusing for new users to locate this information under roms
2 - instead of just linking to roms, kernels, radios, etc. from the main page there should be a few sentances on what each is above the link to the new page - something simple defining each term, and some basic instructions on how to flash each (what should be wiped, what goes on top of what, etc).
3 - would also like to see some info on the main wiki page on nandroid (and the importance of nand backups), hboot, recovery info for both amon ra and clockwork, what wiping means and what it does, themes and themeing, and possibly even a section on popular apps and what they do, like setcpu (and what it means to over/underclock), various launchers (like rosie, adw, launcherpro, etc), and various benchmarking tools and what they measure.
I could probably think up a bunch more, but I'll see what kind of response this gets before posting more

What about an android development setup environment guide to Linux? Forgive me if I have not searched throughly for a good guide.
Seems this may be dead but this is worth a try.
I would like to add a link to some RUU's provided by Football
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1335368
This would be extremely helpful for those wanting to revert to stock for any reason.
Hello,
I want to ask which one WM6.5 Rom most stabil & best ?
Because i want to upgrade from WM6.1 to WM6.5
How to make 2 OS (operating system) in my PDA.
I want to use WM6.5 & Android?
How to install use 2 OS.
There is no best ROM. If you ask 5 people, you get 5 different answers.
If you don't understand the basic tasks needed, you better leave flashing to someone else...
The only way for you: READ THE STICKY POSTS and the FAQs in the WIKI.
There is a specific reason they were written: Noobs like you.
Mods: Please lock this noob/nonsense thread
This one!
I have used different ROM's. I have used Dutty's, Miri's, Energy ROMS. Both WM 6.5 builds 21..., 23..., 28...
But I wanted speed and much memory left.
So the ROM I am using now, as you can see in my signature, is the best for me.
After a soft reset, there is 150 MB RAM memory. With Energy ROM 23... I only had 70 MB RAM.
The battery goes for days and I am a heavy user.
This is a very clean ROM without Manila, so you have to install everything yourself.
Glad to be of help...
in the touch hd rom development section you will find a variety of roms by different chefs and every one of those tries to make a rom, that is fast and stable and most of all, to their taste of style and features. rom threads are marked as [ROM| or [RELEASE| and for most, you will find the release date, rom language and version and manila version in the thread's title, which will give you a brief idea, which roms are not for you, e.g. if you want an english rom, ignore the NLD and PTG roms. and have a look at the screenshots in the threads to find one style, you could live with every day. there is no point in flashing a rom that is fast, stable and has a lot of features, when it is hideous and you can't stand looking at it.
in the end you will find maybe 3 roms, you like and you can simply give them a try. remember to back up your pim data, with pimbackup or outlook or ms myphone, because flashing requires a hard reset and you will lose all information stored on the phone. and a word of advice:
you will not find a rom that is as fast or even faster than the stock rom, they are all slow, but they give you more features and more eye candy, which kinda makes it worth a try.
by the way, i am using cloudy's v0.6 wm6.1 with sense 2.5, with a good sense version, the wm behind it does not really matter.
for instructions on how to flash a rom, have a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377
for android as a 2nd OS, have a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=732362
i also recommended cloudy rom, flash the latest version since it release till now, few week past, never hang even on heavy use.
Think this thread has been kept open long enough. Everyone has different tastes, like & dislikes so the perfect rom does not exist. You've been given a few pointers above

I had this post recently in the General Discussion section, but now I realised that its better off here..
Okay, so I recently bought my self an HD2 and I have been reading alot about the Android Builds but some stuff are still unclear to me. I have a couple of questions (probably very noobish) that I would like to ask.
1st. I see that every build has it's own Kernel and that there are many different Kernels. I want to know if I can change only the Kernel of a Android Build and also is there a place to read what different Kernels have to offer. For example what is the difference between MDJ S7.7, MDJ S7.6, Hastarin 8.5.3 and many more?
2nd. I read that I can copy the data.img (which I presume are my settings and stuff, but I am not sure ?) and paste in other Android Build and I want to know if it works with every build. Also what is the difference between 512 mb and 1gb ones and even bigger ones (2gb for example).
3rd. I know this is a very stupid question, but still I would like to here your opinions. Will there ever at any time be an Android ROM on the HTC HD2, cause this would greatly increase the batery life.
Well that's it for now. I hope I am not a complete moron to you guys and if you are lazy to answer me the questions please tell me a thread where I can read the answers, because I couldn't find one .
1. read changelog in post 3 of mdj kernel thread and hastarin's kernal thread
you can change kernels, try to see what you feel good, try the latest ones
2.you can copy over the data.img for newer versions of same build like mdj 4.1,4.2,4.3,4.4 etc, but it is always better to start clean with different builds.
512 or 1gb means that is the space allocated for android to install files...so larger the better.
3.yes, it will come, but with more options like wp7, gingerbread (android 2.3) ports, meego on horizon, they are trying to put it with different combos...so patience is needed
nand will make it a little smoother, but i suggest mdj 2.3 revolution build for your first, best, stable, fast, smooth android build
Well. I guess you answered all my questions . Thanks alot for your reply !
Hi,
Now that NAND is released, i think it is really urgent to add a new sub-forum for NAND Only Android Builds, cuz it is very confusing now, it will be a total chaos with Super Ram Builds, SD Card Builds and NAND Builds all in the same sub-forum...
greetz MakaveliTha
Agree, it will get so messy!
Agreed here as well. I don't like the cluttered mess of roms.
Yes! Mod pls check it, maybe a Subforum called other Android builds where RAM and NAND builds can be placed in like
[RAM]Android 2.3 ...
[NAND]Android 2.4...
Better sooner than later, or some poor mod has to go through all the roms and move them individually if they begin to stack up.
Past experience being a vbulletin mod lol
not to sound stupid or dumb but what exactly is a NAND Rom and what does it do ? I am still fairly new at this so please be easy with me.

NAND roms are android roms which you install onto the phones internal memory making it a primary android device. Windows mobile is completly removed.
SD Roms are android builds which run of the SD card. Windows mobile is required to boot it. Battery life is quite low as the sd card is always being accsessed.
SUPER RAM roms are similer to the SD roms but instead of running from the SD card it copies the android files to the phones ram memory. This does not kill your battery.
With the Super ram and SD builds, you can return back to windows mobile after a reset.
I'm extremely confused as to how anyone could find this confusing.
No need for more subforums.
Also, search before creating a new thread. This one adds nothing that hasn't been already said in similar threads that were posted in the last few days. Having many different threads on the exact same subject makes information difficult to find.
I think almost the same needs to be done for Themes and Apps
[Winmo] Themes and Apps
[Android] Themes and Apps
?
There is already a thread in HD2 Android General Discussion discussing this exact same idea. It has a poll and is being monitored by the Moderation/Administration team.
There is no need for a 2nd thread discussion the same thing.
Thread closed.
Welcome guys,I searched for several hours a good system Android 2.1 or 2.2 but no results .
Each user test Android and say is stuck/blocked touchscreen , which is the best version of Android 2.1 or 2.2 eventually ???
Thanks for your help !
I have tried the XDAndroid (http://xdandroid.com/)
The key point to use Android is to get a good MicroSD card. On the Android ROM development forum you will find a thread about compatible MicroSD cards.
Anyway, the situation of the development is not for everyday use yet, but it's ok for a few hours of fun.
Try something like FRG83 Neopeek build is fast,XDAndroid is slower than this alot much
MOD EDIT - I've moved thread to General forum as its not related to rom development.
