Hi guys, so I'm one of lucky guys who's HD2 sensors don't work (black screen after calls)
Is there any way to disable light/proximity sensors on phone (android builds ofc)
I'm also having this problem with my Samsung Captivate/Fascinate(Telus). Its really annoying. I tried everything from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=764368&page=2 but nothing worked.
Anything new? Its quite an old thread.
EDIT:
found this and it works! Covering it actually helps!

Hi Guys, my first post! I'm having a troubles with my Blade. The rotating sensor axys isn't working, to be honest it never been working, even with the stock rom. I'm now running Cyano Gingerbread 7 and the situation looks always the same. Tried to switch the button on the menu off/on many times and tried also to move fast the phone in my hands... There is a way to check it? Somebody haves the service manual of the Blade, or help me in some way.
Thanks in Advance.
Hi all,
I apoligise in advance if this has been posted before but it's 4:30am and I don't have anymore time to search for this problem.
I've noticed ever since I've updated my phone to Darky's ROM (starting in dec 2010 with v8) my proximity sensor hasn't been turning my screen off during calls. I'm not sure if this is rom related or not but I ran some tests tonight (using SGS tools and sensor test/z-devicetest) and in all those apps my sensor doesn't seem to respond.
Does this mean it's broken?? Or am i missing some drivers or something??
I'm currently running DarkyROM v10.1.
TIA
Edit: found out that it is indeed working, however only when a bright light shines onto the sensors. Is this normal??
Hi have a HTC Trophy that doesn't have a working camera when the camera app is activated. I just get a blank black screen instead of an image and the usual white icons so I can access settings but can't take a picture.
try to reset ur phone
already...but that wont solve the issue..
Mine started doing exactly the same thing last night after working fine all week. Now, there were 4 applications updates yesterday which maybe caused an issue. However, I also dropped it on a fairly hard surface and it fell flat on the floor. Everything else is working absolutely fine, GPS, Audio, WIFI etc and only the camera seems to be at fault. Even the HTC flashlight app works fine. I have powered down and on a few times but no difference. I could do a full reset, that's the last thing to try but then I will have to start from scratch re-loading all the applications.
At the moment, I'm inclined to believe that dropping it has not done it any good (sounds obvious when I write it out like that). Isn't it amazing how a phone with camera capability has become so important...
Hi all,
I've recently installed the ICS ColdFusionX ROM tillals 15/05 build, on my Orange Sanfrancisco (ZTE Blade) (gen1 - TPT'd to gen2).
After some initial problems I now only have one problem blocking me from using this ROM as my daily...
When I go to make a call (and possibly also when someone calls me) the call is established but the phones screen goes black. The UI and buttons then effectively become disabled meaning I can't hangup the call, or exit without removing the battery :-(
This is a real shame as it otherwise seems to be an excellent ROM... I really can't believe how fast and smooth it is!
I've looked around, and can't see anyone else mention this issue (when establishing calls from the device itself). The few posts I've seen suggest recalibrating the proximity sensor and rebooting, but I've tried that and no luck :-( any ideas???
Thanks greatly.
Update
After re-installing and experiencing the same problem, I managed to resolve it simply by recalibrating the proximity sensor (and not reseting/rebooting).
this problem has been fixed try fixed try flashing the rom again
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some help about Proximity Sensors. Seems like there's a lot of discussion... but not many solutions.
I currently run CM10.2 on JFLTEXX (Samsung Galaxy S4). After a little while, my prox sensor crapped out and stopped working. I tried disabling from sensors.so file, but i ended up disabling all my sensors (accellerometer, light sensor, etc). I tried taking it apart and cleaning it but that only worked for a few weeks. I've ALSO tried the recalibration and resetting echo 0 and echo 1, but that doesn't work either. I know you can keep the screen on during calls via option, but Skype messes up too and other apps.
I am on one last solution before giving up on this ROM (or phone...). I am trying the Hardware Disabler app but I need to know which driver is the driver for Proximity Sensor. Here's the list:
- 21-0030 under /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/an30259a/
- 17-0077 under /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/bcm2079x-i2c/
- 16-0020 under /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/cypress_touchkey/
- 12-0025 under /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/dummy/
- 120048 under /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/dummy/
- 13-006c under /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/ice4/
- 4-003e under /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/jc/
- 12-0066 under /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/max77693/
- 7-006a under /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/s5k6b2yx/
- 11-0036 under /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/sec-fuelgauge/
- 9-0064 under /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/sii8240_cbus/
- 9-004d under /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/sii8240_disc/
- 9-0049 under /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/sii8240_hdmi/
- 9-0039 under /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/sii9240_tmds/
- 9-0059 under /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/sii8240_tpi/
- 2-0081 under /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/ssp/
- 3-0020 under /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/synaptics_rmi4_i2c/
Which one of the above is the proximity sensor driver?
Really would appreciate the help. I know a lot of other people are looking for this kind of information and did a ton of Google search before I came to post here.
THANKS IN ADVANCE.
