omg what is this?? I go to vibrant dev section and all i see are like 800 roms of miui...
Can someone explain how they differ? I understand some do, such as neobuddy's new rom because of the massive tweaks and mods, but the others? Theres a miui stock, miui.us, miui 360 ... what is this?!?!?
There's only 3? Lol
The Stock MIUI is like stock CM7,
The MIUI 360 and that other one by Neosomething are almost the same, they have similar tweaks.
Because it's so customizeable an there are more CM7's I think

MIUI SS
MIUI LITHIUM
MIUI NEXUS PRIME
MIUI IPHONE360
MIUI ANDROID-STYLE
MIUI ICS
I count 8 so far - may be more though
Hmm how many 2.2 roms are there.....how many Ginger ,2.3 roms are out there....in my opinion miui is taking off nicely...
Although miui is 2.3 its not at all like Ginger or any other filmware out there
Its a whole different animal
i'd say the 4 MIUI roms under the same thread has the most support ...
and i got my working GPS using their rom. great work
i was in CM7 too but i just love MIUI for its customisation
On the MIUI discussion. Has there yet been a MIUI published that has an App Drawer built in, or has the capabilities of using one? I tried MIUI a while back but could not get past it not having an App Drawer. I know I move the apps to a folder and have the folder docked but this does not work quite the way I want it to, that and I have over 130 apps, and this takes a long time to move them to a folder. To be honest it is the only thing holding me back from using MIUI again.
Just use a different launcher that does have an app drawer, I'm using go launcher and loving it

Last time I tried, a couple of months ago,I had issues using any other launcher. I was using stock MIUI. If we are able to use additional launchers, I may have to give MIUI another try.
Oh and GOLauncher is what I use with CWM right now. Best Launcher I have found so far.
For one yes you can use any launcher you want and have an app drawer and second there is an alternative app drawer in android developement forum and the market.

Market launchers certainly work fine with MIUI ROMs.... Plus, if anything, you can just make a folder for all of your apps, set it to "arrange alphabetically" and just put all of your apps in that folder.

thinking of trying a different rom. Been using bionix. Would you suggest if MIUI is a good rom to move to? Hows the battery life?
Miui is faster and smoother, battery life isn't quite as good as a 2.2 rom but it's getting better. It's defiantly good enough for a daily driver.

ok, no miui app drawer. if you have 130 apps then i would suggest you sort them by use/function in folders. ie. Social/Tools/Games/etc.
other then the miui.us version all the roms you see are themed variants with additional apps/build.prop tweaks. most are setup by Nick and his team.
i usually just download stock miui, and rip the build.prop out of nicks rom edit it to suit my needs, strip out the crap apps i don't ever use zip and install.

I just tried the Miui rom real quick and i loved it! But it's unusable bc the camera doesn't work and some things are still in chinese. So does anyone know if there's a updated version? Or can someone suggest a rom that's similar, i love the idea of no apparent drawer like the iphone. Any ideas? Thanks

You need to head to MIUI developers and download one of the past three or so versions of the ROM. I'm running the 12.31 latest, but I think the 12.11 was my favorite.
MIUI-Devs I'd also recommend running it with one of the Savage Kernels.
Yea I ran the 12.11 and the 12.24. I preferred the 12.11 also, seemed all around more smooth and fluid. Went back to cm6 though. Overclocked, its just so fast, smooth and better!

Recently I joined here again and I've seen some new ROMs with the comming of the official FroYo. I've been here for a while looking for some Froyo Sense ROM and they all look really nice. I've been running Wildpuzzle after CM but it's a bit slow and now I'm searching a better one (if it's possible).
Which Sense ROM would you highly recommend?
Thanks for all and sorry for my bad english!!
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
All Sense ROM's will be slower than AOSP (Non-Sense) ROM's because Sense requires a lot of processing power. You can look at Sunaabh as an alternative to WildPuzzle but I doubt it will be as fast as CyanogenMod.
For me personally, I use WildPuzzle because I like to keep a Sense ROM, and, Live Wallpapers in Sense = Win for me.
I haven't tried any others, but WildPuzzle 0.7 seems very good currently, and not too slow at all, specially if you overclock it.
wildpuzzle v8.0 is the best Rom .
Im using wildpuzzle...
But
For me cyanogen is better, too bad camera recording and radio is not working and some other bugs.
Thats the only reason why im on wildpuzzle.

I hope for you that there will be an different way
WildpuzzleROM,even thou i'm using launcherpro to replace sense,i still prefer it over CyanogenMod due to the bugs and different apps(gallery, flashlight, etc.)
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
If you're looking for something that is reliable and fairly close to stock, just tweaked here and there, I'd say Sunaabh.
If you want a more tweakable and enhanced version of Sense then head over to Wildpuzzle. Can't really go wrong with that one.
I'd recommend trying out an AOSP ROM with a different launcher, like Launcher Pro, if you're game; the phone tends to be a lot smoother that way.

Nothing. Some people do get crashes and instability using it though. Although I have been using the inbuilt ADW Launcher with CM7 since I have been using it, and, there have been no issues.
Also, for people who have spent time with both launchers, they are of the opinion that LP offers more features, and, is more stable.
hm ok...i've been using ADW on wildfire and X10 and 0 crashes or problems...
thanks
I just noticed, blandroid rom on the rom manager menu, has anyone tried it on N1? I'm using cm7 Rc4 and I know you'll all say stick with it, but I'm still curious.

I noticed it a couple of weeks ago. It says it's a stable 2.3.3 with no bloatware. Sounds very intriguing...in fact so much so that I downloaded it, but have yet to flash it...lol.
Certainly tempting isn't it, is this a case of who goes first lmao, out of interest how big is it? I notice the cm7s are just over 80 mb.

Seems like a plain stock ROM, nice to see to be honest.
Noticed the same thing, but was wondering what all it supports, site doesn't say much. I.E. what kernel it has/supports, TB alert stuff like that.
Hopefully the dev comes and explains what all he's done.
Well, I flashed it, for like an hour then when back to cm7 using the recovery I made.
First thing, market didn't work.
Secondly it didn't have the extra apps cm7 has, which I expected, but I instantly missed theme chooser.
Thirdly it wiped my contacts list.

First. The market issue is probably a wipe issue as I had the same problem with two different MIUI GB ROMs.
Secondly. That would be the lack of bloatware mentioned above. It's like stock android, so not sure why you even flashed it if you wanted bloatware.
Thirdly. It didn't wipe your contact list you didn't sync with google, becaue all of your contacts are backed up there.
You know what, I knew that'd be the replies I got, to be honest I'm curious of any rom that 1might increase battery life, currently using 85% over 10hours!! And of course the dreaded wonk which is seemingly inherent with cm7.
I couldn't force Google to sync with my phone, all my contacts are stored with Google you're right there.
Btw how would I get the market back?

I think it is another keyboard app. When you go to change the keyboard, it lists something in all Asian symbols.
I just deleted it and I have not noticed any difference with how blandroid runs.
The wonk was almost fixed on latest release of cm7. If you don't have the latest version, try it.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App
Nearly fixed isn't fixed. The problem is really dragging out and these stock ROMs are showing that its fixed with them. Wonking isn't the only issue at the moment either. There is still problems with the sound levels after docking the phone sometimes where its maximum level is halved etc.
CM is an ace project and I truly respect the guys and their efforts behind it, but CM7 is very buggy, and when it starts to affect the ability to take calls its hard to use it.
Oh! Thx for the reply. I got scared and ran back to cm7

Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App
I like!
Went for this until the CM stable kills the wonk; now I may not go back. I haven't used it for long enough to know about stability. I think of it as pure AOSP, but already rooted (and a just a few essential CM goodies).
http://blandroid.org/about
So far, I haven't found anything missing I need.
And if you want a bit more eye candy and customization, just install launcher pro or adw.launcher from the market.
I give it thumbs-up!
I'm looking for an alternate rom to cm7. Good battery life is a must, followed by overall performance and speed. There are a few to choose from now, looking for peoples opinions and experiences.

Alien #4 is the best. Very stable. And good battery life. It doesn't have OC kernel, EXT4 etc but its stability is unbeatable.
I've experienced widget missing, rebooting, etc issues in other ROMs, but not Alien.

Aura is good. My personal fav is The DarkSide by Nottach. It's got some personal tweaks of his and that special black-oriented theme that drive it home for me. Right now, I'm fiddling around with that new 1.4GHz kernel just because I'm that kinda guy, and it requires CM7 so I have the FP reader version on right now (nightlies don't do it for me).

I'm a fan of the D2G MIUI port for the D2. Far, far more stable than stock GB, and much easier to customize.
Port?

It was originally developed on the Droid 2 Global by aceoyame and a few others I think, and then adapted/ported over to work for the D2 by aceoyame as well.
Are you sure? I'm pretty sure its the other way around.

Been using Galnet MIUI 2.2.10 for close to a month I believe. Very, very stable and lots of cool little tweaks. ICS framework. 60% or so battery left at the end of every day.
Apex is a right choice for Droid 2.
tried CM7 and liquid smooth... liquid smooth seems to be the most stable and snappiest. CM7 was always buggy and lagged a lot, especially when unlocking the screen.
Well I just put the newest ics build on and the camera works. So that is the best rom for droid 2 now.

I to, had been using Galnet MIUI for a while and loved it. Recently moved to the MIUI ICS 2012.3.12 build. Was a little hard to get used to having no app drawer ( MIUI puts all apps on home pages ). After I moved to my present one, I installed the Alt Drawer, found here at XDA. At least I have an app drawer if I ever need one, lol.
I like the MIUI because it gives you a lot of governors to try and has the CPU tweaks, all in the Boot Menu. You should give it a try.

A lot of times I still use Launcher Pro on MIUI. I get the stability and options of MIUI with a snappy stock app drawer and lots more customization options. The only things that I don't like about the default MIUI launcher is that it doesn't have the drawer and the ability to change the number of rows and such, but as it's simply a launcher you can just change the default.
