This was on first boot after installing the rom. I selected allow.
I do, however, still get an error about not having root access too. So annoying.

[GUIDE] Update Superuser From Market FIX!

I am running LeeDrOiD, but I know many people have this issue.
If you are trying to update Superuser from the market, and you get invalid signature and installation fails. This is my work around, which works for me.
My rom had superuser.apk and not Superuser.apk, which linux takes as two files whilst windows references everything in capitals.
Download Superuser Update Fixer.
Run the application, which will say that signature fails. Then run the fix, which will say okay all the way through and the signature still fails.
Download Root Explorer, and mount /system/ as rw.
Go to /system/apps/ and you will find Superuser.apk and superuser.apk, rename or delete superuser.apk and then rename Superuser.apk to superuser.apk.
Restart your phone.
Go to app drawer, and launch Superuser. Your whitelist and blacklist has been erased.
Run Superuser Update Fixer and you should see signature match is okay, now click update from market and enjoy.

I don't think there is. There may be another app that does this job though. You need something that can mount system rw.
It may be possible to do this step with ADB, however I just posted how I did it.
ES file explorer has this system rw option, it says that it only works with CM and some other rom but it works for me and I'm running leedroid. Only problem is you have to unmount and mount it again every now and then.
Yeah to make it work just select the non CM7 mod option, HIAPK i think it's called? either way just select that one, apart from what the guy above me said about the remounting every now and then, should be a good substitute for root explorer
I downloaded superuser from market and the fix but wen using es explorer i only see one superuser?

I only have the Superuser.apk, but still have problems on the update. I had lost root and just decided to reroot, but got the Ninja Icon app. I tried to update - sig failed. Tried the Update Fixer and on changing to 644 fail, check sigs fail. Then I tried this.
Any other ideas on how to get it?

Did it ask you to allow root access to the app? Sounds like it did not get proper root access. When all else fails, reinstall.

A lesson. Root and /System RW are not the same thing.
You need to open your file manager, (ESFile Explorer, Root Explorer, etc), and set your /System to RW
Then install the app again.

So I went to use super one click like I normally would and after doing everything super one click says im rooted and then when it asks if I want to run a test and I click yes, the test indicates I am not rooted. And I checked on the phone and I can't get root acess. Could someone help me out so I can root. I really only want to root to remove some annoying ads from an app i use all the time.

Questions don't go here.. Download super user first or super su then try the super one click. It should work. Also before you root put your phone in debug mode by going into settings/Applications/Development and enable USB debugging. *usb must be disconnected before enable debug*

There isn't enough room in the system partition for S1C to copy superuser...you have to down load it from the market. And most people have been having better luck with Supersu...but either one will work, just install, start the app, update binary, and have fun! You can then debloat and move which ever one you used to /system/app if you want, but you don't have to.

Good News!
I deleted my folder with the root tools in it. Went and grabed a fresh download from the forums with the newest super one click version and it successfully rooted my device.
Now we have a new problem though I have root acess but super user wont prompt me to allow anything and when I set it to automatically allow it still doesnt allow anything so its basically worthless and not working...

Did superuser update the binary? I would run S1C again and if it tells you that is already rooted have it run again anyway. Then download supersu from the market and see if it will update the binary.
I had similar problems the first time I rooted eg04...It will work, eventually!

I cant update the binary because it always fails at gaining root access I tried re rooting when it was already rooting and I tried supersu and it failed as well. At the point I think I am just going to give up, if I wanted to I could flash a debloated deodexed and rooted rom but I am too lazy to have to reinstall all my apps and junk so oh well.
I had the same problem the first time I rooted eg04... Just keep trying every once in a while, for some reason it will just all of the sudden work... I think it took me a day or two before it finally did. Then it works fine... Hopefully

I can't delete any files on my nexus 7?

My nexus 7 had slowed down recently. So I was advised by someone here to reinstall the stock rom. So I backed everything up that was on it and installed the latest version of android (4.2.2). It worked. It's not slow anymore. But there's one problem. I can't delete any files on it using es file manager. I get a message saying "cannot delete some files. Please make sure that your storage is not mounted as read-only". I don't know what that means. Can someone help me?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
You can delete unwanted files straight from TWRP Recovery. TWRP > Advanced > File Manager >SD Card > Select Items > Delete.
Well that worked. But it's too much trouble to have to go into TWRP just to delete a file. Why can't I delete it with ES file explorer like I could before I reinstalled the stock rom?

And SU or SuperSU (whichever) is active, with root permissions being granted as needed?
Depending on where you're working you may need to ask for write and mount privileges through terminal.
For example if working in /system:
Code:
su
mount -o remount,rw /system
Caution do not do this if you are not experienced. You may damage your system.

Hm weird. Under the assumption that you are doing everything correctly, it should work as superuser permissions supersedes all and any limitation unless the file is open preventing it from being written to. If that's the case you will have to go through recovery as Username invalid suggested to edit the file.

I just tried that. Unfortunately it didn't work. And it gets worse. It seems like I can't do anything to the file system at all. Meaning I can't create a new file or folder. And I can't edit or delete what's already there. I haven't tried to download anything yet. But that probably won't work either. This is terrible.

I returned to stock with the nexus 7 toolkit. It does everything for you. But it doesn't seem to help with this. Anyway I looked at those apps, and root explorer is $4.00. I don't mind paying for it. But I want to know if it's a necessity to have before I buy it.
The other app (terminal emulator) has multiple versions by different companies. How do I know which one to get? Here are some:
Android terminal emulator by jack palevich
Terminal emulator by cityapp
Shell terminal emulator by mobildev
Terminal IDE by Spartacus Rex
There are even more, those are the free ones.
