hd2 3,5 jack problem - HD2 General

Hi guys, i have an hd2 with nand android, and i have a problem when i plug in the aux cable or earphones: the phone during the play of a track sometimes changes automatically the song or it restart the song a lot of time without that i touch the phone. I already had the plug in problem too when i had wm 6.5 on the phone, but the problem were not the "music shuffling", but the problem were that the phone autodialed the last number called by me.
Someone has the same issue? Any solutions?

I've had audio jack problems as well.
I use a mp3 player from the Android Market called Tiny Player.
Occasionally while playing songs in Tiny Player through headphones or an FM transmitter, the Android music player will start up and begin playing a random song while Tiny Player is still playing.
It must be something about the way that the audio jack is designed to work with the HTC headphones that have the in-line mic built into them for calling. Some regular headphones must be causing a connection to be made which makes the phone think that a button on the HTC headphones has been pressed.
I can usually solve this problem by unplugging and re-plugging the headphones, or turning the plugh in the jack a little bit.

this has come up fairly often over the yrs, to a greater or lesser extent. I have a pair of senheissers which do exactly what you describe, but only on winmo roms. My other phones (tested four or five pairs, cheap and expensive) all work fine. the senheissers work fine on wp7 and android.
Odly enough two (that i can think of) other threads like this also mentioned senheisers, , , what you using, OP?

@samsamuel: i'm using android MIUI.
@huggs: sometimes i do like you, i unplug and replug the cable to solve the problem, but i want to permanently solve this problem, even at the cost of replacing the input jack, you say that it solves?

Its also worth removing the battery and then looking into the jack to see it there is any debris in there, remove with a pin

Same problem, except my Android powered HD2 also likes to randomly dial the last person I talked to when I have the headphones connected. These are the original HTC phones that came with the device. Today it managed to leave my boss eight voicemails. Nice. Fortunately, my boss has a sense of humor and it'll probably be OK. What can I do to prevent this from happening again?

I have a problem with 3.5 mm jack. When I turn on the headset, the phone restarts. And the problem is not with all handsets

I think I found a fix for misbehaving headphones:

If anyone has used this please comment.

@imrazor : Thank you very much, I'm using it for two days and since I installed it I've had no problems.

Headphone Jack Stops working

Hey all, I know a lot of people have had problems with the jack doing goofy things, however my problem is a little different. I'm having an issue where i'll be listening to music just fine on my headphones, unplug them, a bit later plug them back in and it no longer plays though the headphones. It will play though the external speaker just fine, but when you plug it in, you head music for about 400ms then it goes silent. Upon rebooting the phone the audio will work again. Sounds almost like a software glitch but not sure how to fix it. The HTC support rep suggested a "hard reset" I really don't want to do that, but it may come to it for testing purposes.
Anyone else run into this problem? I would really like to fix it without wiping the phone.
No headphone problems here my friend. Good luck.
Just a heads up. The evo can sense a mic'd headset inserted or a standard 3.5mm headphone or aux cable. When it senses a standard cable it will run off the headphones and let you do commands or talk trough the built in mic. I had a "headphone" issue that many talk of with diffent things poping up or music not playing. All i had to do was push until I heard a locking click with the headset and with the standard headphones I have. Everything has worked great since then

Why cant I use speakers or tape deck adapter without my HD going nuts?

Hey odd question, lately when I plug in speakers or a tape deck adapter to my HD 2, it will close out whatever program switch to music, then it will cycle music like crazy. Kinda like if its getting a signal to switch tracks etc. Anyone know what could be causing this? Using Energy Rom.
Because the HD2 uses a headset with media controls, and most likely it is getting false signals from your speakers, also the headset jack is a microphone jack not just speakers, you cannot just plug stereo speakers into a jack that has contacts for , controls, mic , and sound ...
Thats odd when you say that tho.. cause I use use Nokia MD 4 (With the FM ant able in the cord) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...9&cm_re=nokia_speakers-_-75-975-079-_-Product
The HD2 works fine.. just anything else messes it up. So what is everyone using in the car and so?
I plug my FM transmitter into the headphone socket in the car,and use
2 different types of headphones,a generic in ear set and some
folding Sennheisers, neither give me any issues, they just work....
I use a set of travel speakers plugged straight into the HD2 speaker jack & everything runs fine.
I plug it into my stereo and it works 100%
I sometimes get the crazy behaviorwith common headphones. It's fine 99% of the time, but sometimes in the pocket the plug will start doing some bad contacts, and then it starts switching tracks, or even calling the last number...
Need to remove the headphones, wait a moment till it processes the ton of "false commands" that were sent, and plug again. Sometimes a reboot is needed too.
Youd think there could be a fix or on cooked roms a way to disable inputs from the headphone socket.
I guess I should have been a little clearer what I said, ...
and yes I typed it hard to understand ....
Some speakers work, some don't , some will give you false inputs, others will not ....
Most small portable speakers will not ...
I tested this theory just a little while ago ...
My regular headset from my mp3 player works fine ...
1 out of 2 sets of computer speakers I have makes my HD2 freak out ...
I tried my travel speakers again and they were fine, so I have tried my brothers portable speakers that are a different make, they too work fine. I have just tried it with my big house speakers and again fine.
Thinking about it, my Omnia & my HTC P3600 both came with headphones that had a microphone & control buttons on & I never had any problem plugging them into any speakers, same as I don't with my HD2 so I'm sure it can't be the phone & must be a rom issue or something like that I guess.
Sorry I can't be more helpful with an answer, but hopefully the tests I've just done will help in some way.

[Q] Odd music player problem

My wife's car radio has an auxiliary input we use to listen to audio from various devices, it works great for turn by turn, music or whatever from our phones. I don't have such an option in my vehicle but i do have in dash cd and cassette. Today i grabbed a cheap 3.5mm to cassette adapter from an auto parts store to get similar functionality in my vehicle. Every thing works as expected, except the HTC music player (the one you access from the home tabs).
When I play music through the player i hear about 1 sec of audio and then my phone restarts!. This does not happen with headphones or in my wifes car when plugged into the auxiliary input. This does not happen using TCPMP, Windows media player, bing, or talking on the phone. It only occurs using the htc player.
Just curious what could be causing this?
Tmous HTC HD2
Cookie Energy ROM
Radio 2.10.50.26
its probably getting a power spike back up the cable which is tripping out the phone.
On a pc, you can quite often cause the whole thing to lock up by pulling out the speaker jack if you have powered speakers.
No suggestions for a fix tho, sorry.

thanks for responding and I agree, although I didn't have a problem plugging into my pc mic or input. But wouldn't it happen in other players/apps too? And would plugging in the phone then inserting the cassette or vice-versa make a difference? Not really a big deal, as i won't be using the setup often, just got me thinking...
heh, who knows the whys and wherefores of these types of bugs, , try plugging it all together with the phone off, then power on last, see if it makes a difference, , just for testing purposes, see what happens.
Phones like this can be more sensitive to that type of thing in general (and PC's too), especially with regards to audio jacks. My suggestion would be to try a better quality cassette adapter. I suspect too that even if the one you have now didn't cause this problem, the audio played through it would have a noticible hum or hiss in the background.

[Q] Headphone jack

Hello.
I'm using HD2 about 1.5 year and I have one problem I can't fix. When I'm hearing music on headphones and I'll touch headphones cable songs just change, phone rings to last called number and all that staff from remote controller on standard headphones. It's pretty annoying because i have to hold my phone in hand. When i put it in my pocket while I'm moving then phone moves -> cable moves -> songs change. I'm NOT using standard HTC headphones, I've tried a lot sets of headphones and it happens on every one. I think that something may be wrong with the headphones jack, but i can't send it to HTC because i changed the screen on my own when I got it broken.
So here comes my question. Is there any possibility to switch off the options of remote controller from standard headphones (next song, prev. song etc)? I am using Sennheisser headphones without controller.
Common problem on non standard headphones. Issue is due to rings on plug nut aligning as should & sending false signals.
seems mainly down to headset plug but device socket wear could have some effect on this.
Never had this problem as I use original headset lead modded with a 3.5mm female headset jack.
What OS are you on ? this may help you get better specific answers on software fixes & advice.
I'm using Energy ROM and DL init (?) Android - can't exactly remember the build's name. Sometimes it happens more often than other times. I think it's happening most on WM.
I was hoping that there is some kind of fix which switches the controller off, prevents from using those rings which you mentioned that are responsible for controller.

Music playback pauses for no reason

I'm having an issue with pretty much every N rom I've tried - when I play music using wired headphones or with an AUX cable hooked up to my car, the music will stop randomly, usually every few minutes. Sometimes I'll get lucky and it won't do it for a while, but regardless, it still happens. I've tried a handful of different apps, AUX cables and headphones, and it always happens. Playing music using Bluetooth or the phone speaker causes no problems. Also, I disabled battery optimization for every app I've tried and still get pauses, and I've cleaned the headphone jack with rolled up tape to make sure there's no dirt or lint in there. I'm out of ideas and couldn't really find anything here on XDA or searching on Google. Please help, and thanks!
have you tried with another headphone? your headphone's cable might be little bit broke, so ur phone detect that the jack is unplugged, and it stopped automatically. (bad english srry, im trying to help)
Thanks for the reply, but I already said I tried different headphones and AUX cables
I can't be the only one experiencing this issue
I am facing the same issue as you do.
Yep, same here. Happened on pretty much every Nougat Rom out there.
I just looked through the settings on my phone and poweramp (Beta, don't know about the stable version) has a setting for this exact problem and it seems to work
