wifi makes phone constantly bootloop. - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Don't know why it happened, but no matter what rom i'm on, no matter how much i wipe/reinstall, the phone could be running perfect, but the second i enable wifi, it sends the phone to a constant bootloop, causing me to wipe and reinstall just to use the phone. Anyone know why?

Possible hardware problem um I suggest u get it replaced

When Traveling, Android Shuts off and blocks the phone...Help?

Hey guys. I have a major issue while traveling... the phone literaly becomes unusable. What happens is that when I am traveling and the networks are changing, the phone simply shuts off and restarts itself. However, it never gets to even showing the radio on the bottom...it only shows the boot screen and it stops there... I tried to reset it using the button, and also get the battery out but the gash darn thing does not turn on...When it finally turns on, it stops at loading sense! And its totally stuck there. no activity... I need to turn it off, and leave it like that for a long time for it to be able to work properly again...i changed radios etc, but its still the same thing...I did a hard reset and new a Windows rom and its still the same...It drives me NUTS! do you guys have any idea what might be wrong?
Come on! Noone?
Are you using a newer kernel and wrapper? Older ones had that problem for me. Make sure the phone is not hot when you try to turn it back on. Check thread where you got your Rom and see if anyone else experienced the same issue you have.

[Q] Random reboots with CM7 2012.01.02 with U8800-51

Yeah i know this rom is meant to be for U8800+(Pro), but i've flashed it and all is working, wifi, ril, 3g, camera, recording, everything (dunno about bluetooth or radio because i dont use that things) but i have an issue (a major one i think).
The only thing its that im having random reboots, speccially when i press the power button to lock the phone, the random reboots didn't happen when the phone was connected to AC or PC so i cannot logcat, dont know whats happen, someone can help me?
Can you give me the link of the rom you used?

Maybe you fixed it? I'm having same problem.
I use the stock rom and I had also random reboots .
Now I have turned off automatic clarity of my screen and look! The random reboots are gone.
It's strange that it relates to each other...
I could not solve the problem, at least for now, but I leave the smart running in the background music without sound, battery depletion is negligible and not the phone reboots, because the link unless it restarted my phone when I left off the touchscreen nothing running on android.
see if it works in your
CM7 Random Reboots
I've been having the same problem, but i found that if I run Terminal Emulator in the background my device does not reboot when I lock the screen. But I still have some random reboots when I'm watching videos on YouTube.

[Q] NexusHD2 Gingerbread NAND problems

Hi everyone,
So I've tried searching and tried about everything I can think of. I want to make sure that I'm not doing something totally wrong.
So I have the NexusHD2 Gingerbread v3.2a w/ Tytung r13 kernel installed. I keep having issues with the phone having issues during calls. (The phone will sometimes lock up during other functions/apps, but primarily happens with the phone calls.) Often, it'll give me a force close on the com.android.phone program. If I haven't made calls in a while, I will call someone and the phone either never connects, or I can't hear anything. I have to remove the battery and restart to get the phone working, and this sometimes takes several times restarting to work properly again.
I have tried the r14 kernel, reinstalled the ROM, did a clean boot on the ROM, but I continue to have issues. From what I've read, I'm wondering if it could be an issue with bad blocks, but I may be totally off.
Has anyone else had issues with this? Where should I start, so that I am not wasting my time on all kinds of stuff that won't really help?
Thanks in advance!

MAJOR problem - phone restarting every 10 seconds!

Hi guys,
this is my first time using these forums and I wouldn't have done that if the problem was easily solvable. However, this is a major problem for me and I couldn't find a thread nor a solution to it, so I'll post it here.
I have the i9305 4G version of the S3. I have had it for about a month now, and it worked fine, up until now. The phone suddenly starts to restart itself (not reboot!) for about 10 seconds, then goes back to the dashboard.
The problem seems to be the WiFi. Right after I get the "Connected to ... network" message on the bottom of the screen, the phone vibrates immensely once, then everything freezes for a few seconds, then another 2-3 vibrations, before the Samsung logo comes up with the LED light on. After a few seconds again I'm back in the dashboard until I get the "Connected to ..." message, and so on the process repeats itself.
Turning off WiFi seems to solve the issue, but once I turn it on again the problem reoccurs.
Something else I've noticed is that if I have WiFi turned off and cellular data network (for instance 4G) turned on, the "4G", "H+" etc. logo does not appear, even though I'm connected to cellular data! Don't know if it can be related to my main problem.
I have tried everything I'm aware of. Unplugging the battery, factory reset and back up, hard reset, wipe cache pertition. After the factory reset I can use WiFi again, but only for a few hours until the problem reoccured. I THINK once my battery is fully charged the problem occurs.
Note: I haven't even touched stock ROM, kernel etc. Nothing is flashed. Phone is in the same condition as when it came out of the box. Android version: JB 4.1.1
I would be forever grateful if you could help me out here, I can't have a phone restarting itself and vibrating like crazy every 10-15 seconds.
(Sorry in advance if this was the wrong place for this thread.)

UPDATE:
Seems like my issue isn't just related to Wifi. Cellular data network was actually related to my issue, as I first feared. If Wifi is turned off and cellular data turned on, the same thing happens. Seems like the issue occurs every time I try to use the internet either way.
Anyhow, if I let the phone reboot itself without turning on or off anything at all, it will reboot about 5 times until either Wifi or cellular doesn't work anymore even though the status bar tells me that it is turned on!
This seems to be a serious connectivity issue and for the first time I'm suspecting interference with the phone's wireless network hardware. If none of you are able to provider an answer, I guess I have no choice but to hand it in to get it repaired or replaced.
Still noone who has a solution to my problem?

My solution to your problem would be to just bring it to whoever you bought it from and demand a replacement. That isn't normal behaviour.
you can boot into recovery and do a factory reset and cache wipe
if wiping does not solve your problem, just return your phone.
I don't know if this is related, but, I had this issue once (the cause is not wifi though), and samsung fixed (or replaced) my phone.

I'd wipe the phone and return it. This is not normal behaviour and should fall under warranty... Wiping might fix but this may happen again if there is an inherent problem with your handset....

Can't turn wifi on

I wasn't able to turn wifi on for a while, after a day it was solved (wthout doing anything other then trying to turn it on, where it stucked the whole day) but only for an hour or something like that. To solve it forever I installed a new Rom with an older Android version (4.3), but the problem remains the same.
Am I the only one who's experiencing the described problem?
Try out a few stable, well-maintained kernel and/or rom (CM,PA,Slim). If you still have the same problem, then it's caused by hardware failure and you can't do much about it.
