So I installed dj Steve’s 1.8.1. and I tried installing skype from droidforums.net/forum/xeudoxus/78843-apks-unlocked-apps.html
NOTE: I am in the US and 3g calling is disabled. Well that version in the link doesn't make calls, if I try it says call ended right away. The stock app works great over wifi, but thats it, and id like to use it over 3g like it did with my old captivate sometimes. Anyone know why it doesn't work? Is it a Rom thing, because when on my captivate, it too had the same problem, until I installed a certain Rom (cognition 3.x), and that worked perfectly whereas all the other Roms I tried were a nogo over 3g. Anyone know why this is? Is there any devs working on a US skype 3g?

Have an HTC ThunderBolt and a burning desire to use Skype’s video chat service? You’re in luck, because the gang over at Droid-Life have discovered a leaked iteration of the Internet communication client that is video-chat ready. The client, which was expected to ship with the ThunderBolt at the time of its announcement, can only be installed on Verizon’s first LTE smartphone… at the moment. If you’re interested in taking the software for a spin, hit the read link and have yourself a download.

3 days late, but at least you can find his post. The "working on" post needs to be updated so you don't have to scan 20 pages to find this info...
Thanks for the heads up man

I sure hope they come out with a FULL Skype version that allows us to make/receive calls (on WiFi at least....). I got the Skype mobile working with video. It's nice for sure.
I cant get it to work at all. I cant figure out why, whenever i click the start video button, it switches like its initializing the video, then goes back to the main screen... anyone have any ideas
Just an FYI to anyone wanting to try skype that wasn't aware:

I found that phone to PC only works if the PC is running the most recent Skype update forces audio only otherwise.

Works for me as well.

I am having mixed results and am beginning to wonder if the problems with the video are related to the version running on the different pc's.
I'll have to test that out with some friends...

Keep any eye on your notification light. The amber one. Sometimes it stays lit when you have Skype on. I noticed it more than a handful of times. It stopped as soon as I removed Skype.

Hey Guys. Ive been running CM7 since we got it on the Bravo, and suddenly I cant send data over wifi. Im using Google Voice, which has worked since we got cm7, and I can still receive texts, but I cant send. Anyone else having problems like this?
have you tried putting the phone into airplane mode and then back? Sometimes this clears things up and forces the phone to make a new connection with things and may work
AT&T WiFi manager app
Just found this after missing this feature. Figured some of you using CM7 or MIUI may like this app at the link:

It would be nice if I could have used the QR code, but no working camera yet ;-)
Just got my iconia A500 very recently and stumbled upon this forum. I used the search function to see if this had been asked but didn't find anything - apologies if this is a duplicate.
I installed GrooveIP and it doesn't seem to work great. The call goes through fine and I can hear people perfectly, but everyone complains that my voice sounds "wonky" on their end and there's a pretty obvious lag. I've tested it out on multiple networks, including on a T3 network, so I don't think that's the problem. Anyone encounter something like this?
Thanks!
I have it installed and linked to my Google Voice and I cant make calls. I connect to my wifi @ home and nothing.

I've installed it and I could make calls but my tablet wouldn't receive calls.
I use the app and it works great for me. The developer web site has information on sound issues. I have also read the developer is good at getting back to the user if questions are asked. Give it a try.
I've searched everywhere for a solution to this, tried both the official Skype app and the modded one that supposedly allows more devices to video call and I just can't seem to get it working.
I have an i9023, and whenever I start a video call, I'll see myself for a few seconds and then it'll just go back to voice calls.
A lot of people seem to have this issue, is there any kind of workaround or solution that I haven't found yet? I'm using WiFi so its not a carrier issue.
Thanks in advance.
Using 9023 with stock ICS. Tried skype video a few times and it's working fine.
