Strange question- Disabling Movies - myTouch 3G, Magic General

Hi
For an odd reason, which I'd rather not explain, I have to make my MyTouch unable to play movies, but I want to enable it later. May someone advice me how to do it please? My device is rooted and I know the danger of modifying and moving system files. I need a solution!
Thank you very much!!

Please.. Does someone know any file that if I delete it I'm unable to watch movies? What is the name of the built in app which controls movies? Where can I find it?

Share videos on YouTube over 3G

hey guys,
I tried to share some videos made by myselft on my N1, but, i realized that it's only possilble using a wifi network ! So, do someone knows if i can do something to share over 3G network ? I mean any software that trick my phone and make it believe that is on wifi!
Thanks anyway !
Interestingly enough I found that I can upload any size video to youtube via 3g by using the seesmic twitter app. Run the application, and go into setup to change video sharing to youtube from yfrog. Then enter your credentials. From then on, when you record a video, click share and then seesmic. It will automatically start the seesmic app with a tweet started "http://www.youtube.com/********". Let automatic the upload continue in the background and once you check back and it is a solid link you know it's complete. You do not have to tweet the link as it's already active, simply copy the link to whatever means you which to distribute.
weird I have had no problems uploading via 3G Did a test one a week ago here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LpuZexiJPY
hey, this really do the trick! thanks! But there is no way to share direct from youTube appl? (Only have a problem with big files, i believe 2mb+)

Workaround for Upload size limit?

Hey yal. I'm at the cottage and want to upload some vids from the phone to YouTube. Problem is that the phone says I need a WiFi connection to upload "large" files. Had a look in the phone settings but couldn't find anything. Is there any way to bypass this limitation?

Help with Gameboid

Hey guys . i have been killing a game on my phone the last two days , and am wanting to get the save states from my gameboid app off my phone so i can load them onto my wii .
Problem is i cant find any trace of gameboid in my file system anywhere. Anyone know where the save files go to? or where gameboid installs to?
i would just download one off the net , but thats dirty , and its kind of a rare game so i couldnt find any anyway.
I know this isnt a typical question and kinda nerdy , but at least its a break from froyo threads haha .

sweet! have you already tried using ADB to browse the system files / partition of your phone? You are not limiting your search to just the SD Card...right?
ABD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875963
Didn't use adb, but browsed around in root manager. But I'm not real where to look. I found the apk haha. But no trace in the system. Still looking though

If it's like the other apps installed to the phone, it should save to /data/data/<name of apk>/ and if it isn't there, it may have made a directory on the sdcard.
Gameboid savegame files get saved in the exact same place as the ROM, wherever you put it. They're even suffixed as .sav.
You're Over analyzing this. The save states are on your sd card. Just mount your phone on your pc. Look in your sd card for the save states. If you can't find them I'll load gameboid up and find where it defaults to, but when I used nesoid I had to choose where my games where then the save states generate there.

were you successful in porting your save files to VBA? I want to do the same on my mac instead of my wii
actually , not yet . looks like vba and game boid do not use the same save state types . But i am looking into a way to convert them now . im pretty sure its possible. will report back when i have succeeded haha
Actually, i've been working on this.
I found the .sav file on my phone, copied it to my pc, did some linking stuff in no$GBA (just another GBA emulator), and was able to save it.
However, when you are trying to place the file back on your phone it won't be detected by Gameboid, it loads from the save file it keeps itself which is called a .ss0 file (first saving slot), when you delete the .ss0 file it also wont read the .sav file and just asks you to start a new game.
So now im trying to find a way to bypass / edit my way in so i will be able to throw back my .sav file to my phone to keep playing there, however not much succes there yet.
Edit:
Just figured out that i can turn off that the auto save will be loaded directly, so can "load" my own safe file first now, however the game says the save file is erased due to corruption or damage, so i will try to make a new save file using another emulater... will keep you guys updated
Very interesting. I'm having similar issues. Make sure to keep me posted. I'm still working on it as well. Surely one of us will figure it out.

[Q] Video Recording Error

I have a stock 2.3.4 Atrix that is rooted and have an issue with recording video-the phone will create the file, but is of a zero file size. It seems like it is a codec issue, but I don't have a ton of experience with this type of issue. The only items I have that might have changed the codec are the registered version of Player Pro and Skype. I've looked at the forum and FAQs for those products to no avail. I've searched a lot on XDA as well, but I mostly get hits on the 1080p recording issue. Does anyone have any ideas or a copy of the Gingerbread video codecs for the Atrix?
Thanks in advance.
After trying many different venues, the only thing that fixed this was a wipe and factory reset of the phone. It is now recording video again.
same problem here !
got a Atrix movistar 2.2.2 made in argentina.
tried to root it but never worked and mesed up my video recording.
i have a video playback error as well. I rooted my phone. You mentioned you had to wipe it and factory reset. Will this undo the root. I need camcorder working again. can you help me out. thanks.
It did undo root on my device, as I expected. After wiping the device, the camcorder has remained working. It might have been a conflict with One Click Root and software I had on it.

can you show me where i can go to safely wipe my phone. were you able to back up your apps? and did you reroot your phone? was there one that worked better and camcorder still works. thanks in advance
I am not sure how you define safely or what you are looking for in that regard, but you can use Settings->Privacy->Factory Data Reset. I used My Backup Pro to backup data and apps. I am still rooted, but have not put all of the apps back on my phone.

Sorry, I missed one piece-i used One Click Root because of ease of use and the ability to remove root easily.
